Ivanka Trump gives birth to her third child, son Theodore James Kushner

I sort of forget that Ivanka Trump is a mom sometimes. To be fair, her pregnancies are always breezy and low-key, and to be fair, she’s not doling out mommy-advice on a daily basis. She’s too busy working 16-hour days, one would assume. Anyway, Ivanka was already mom to Arabella (who is 4-and-a-half) and Joseph Frederick (who is 2), and on Easter, she gave birth to her third child, son Theodore James Kushner. Fun fact: Ivanka converted to Judaism when she married husband Jared Kushner, so Easter Sunday was just “Sunday” for Jared and Ivanka.

Anyway, congrats to Ivanka and Jared and their whole family. I’m okay with her baby-name choices for the most part. I think Arabella is a bit too princess-y, but Ivanka gives her sons solid, normal names. I genuinely like the name Theodore AND James, and I wonder if the kid will have a nickname, like T.J. or Teddy or Theo, all of which I like too. I also like that she hasn’t named any of her sons “Donald.”

For months, Ivanka was joining her dad on the campaign trail, and it seemed like Ivanka was always more popular than Trump’s current wife, Melania. Ivanka is so obviously her father’s favorite child, and I always get the feeling that she’s trying to moderate some of his crazier leanings. But in the last few months, Ivanka has been back at home, nesting and preparing for the baby. Which might be why all hell has broken loose in the Trump campaign, you know?

Another woman I can’t abide, but I like the name and a lovely, healthy bubbie is always good news.

    • HH says:

For her to be as smart as she is, she seems like she would follow her father into the depths of hell (for reference: Please see current election cycle). So I guess she’s not as smart as previously thought.

      • Sarah(too) says:

A lot of us love our father’s unconditionally and would defend them to the end.

      • Tammy says:

@HH I dislike Donald Trump but seriously? Why the shade on Ivanka?

      • INeedANap says:

I like to think that she is calculating and cunning, playing the long game, waiting for him to die so she can inherit his business and really make it successful on her own terms. I respect ruthless ambition in women. And Donald Jr seems like an idiot, so…

      • HH says:

@Sarah and @Tammy – There would be no shade for Ivanka if she simply chose to be a daughter and remain separate from his political campaign. Even if she remained neutral I would understand. But she IS part of the campaign when she appears with him on stage and defends his misogyny.

@INeedANap – She could be playing the long game, but she married well and she has plenty of money in her own right. I would understand her **declining** to make statements on what her father has said, but she has made statements. And they are disappointing.

      I love this comment!

I like the name, and she even looks great after giving birth. What a beautiful woman.

Speaking of names, I find it kinda funny that Trump’s wife lost the J in Melanija to sound more American, when his daughter has the most Slavic sounding name. Ivanka is a really popular name among the 50+ ladies in my country. Very common, a bit dated. The accent is a bit different though.

    • Kitten says:

She is really really gorgeous. Takes after her mom for sure.

    • Original T.C. says:

She is a beautiful woman but she’s also wearing full “natural looking” makeup, with her hair styled and hair color touched up. Like with many celebrities and Kate Middleton even the post birth pictures have to look good while making it look natural. Brave new world of the internets.

  3. vanessa says:

i don’t even wanna congratulate her; Her and her whole family disgust me so much at this point.

    • SydneySnider says:

I couldn’t agree more, Vanessa. This little boy is a cutie, though. 🍼

    • PinaColada says:

I don’t like that she (unnecessarily) “works so many hours” that she produced now 3 kids whom she sees for like an hour/day. It makes me mad! Go ahead and work way more than necessary if desired, or have kids, but to do both- feels sad for the kids. I think her husband is home much more, though? Many of us have to work, but proudly doing it to excess (supposedly) and then saying it’s fine because once a week for 6 hours you focus entirely on them….no.

      • Locke Lamora says:

But if the husband is home most of the time, then it’s fine, no?

      • INeedANap says:

If she were a man no one would question her ambition. You would assume the little wife was staying home with the kidlets and that was that.

      • Dani says:

But…men do that…and they’re part of bring these children in to the world so how come all the hate on Ivanka?

  4. SamiHami says:

Lovely woman. Happy for her and her family. I’m sure that baby will be very much loved.

As for not giving either of her sons the name Donald, I would think she didn’t because she has a brother named Donald Jr. I would guess that she figures he has “dibs” on that name, in case he wants to have Donald III.

  5. mel says:

One reason she might have not given the baby name Donald is that Jews of European descent do not name their children after living relatives. Mazal Tov

  6. Alberto ACDC says:

Dammit, we have one of Donald Drumpf’s web-goons here. Nowhere is safe in the internet now.

BTW, even though your conspiranoid theories aboit Soros are probably BS (I don’t think you need to pay to find people willing to picket Drumpf, most good-willing people would volunteer gladly), whatever he is putting in order to sink Drumpf is money well spent.

  7. Pri says:

I wonder what Karile Kloss thinks, being so close to all of this. Karlie’s boyfriend is Jared’s brother, and I am surprised Jared has been a part of the campaign.

    • Lena says:

Have Karlie and Ivanka ever been pictured together? A quick google image search says no.

  8. kri says:

She looks like Emma roberts. Happy baby time. He’s cute.

  9. it's like you know says:

Anyone who stands against Donald Trump seems like a regular folk hero, at this point, to me.

  10. Respect says:

My dear…I know about soros…I just needed to google what trump has said in his own words about women and minorities (and basically anything he says ever) to give my vote to Hillary…formerà lifelong republican

    • Quinn says:

Yeah, Hillary has proven to be a really upstanding human being over the past twenty years. 😐

  11. lilacflowers says:

Were it not for extreme right-wingers screaming about Soros constantly I would never have known who he was. My sister protested at a Trump rally and nobody paid her.

  12. EM says:

So your saying that Trump was paid by Soros to say all that dumba$$ stuff because all hell has broken loose thanks to the calculated hate, sexism and ignorance coming out of the Trump campaign.

  13. Colette says:

I just read the CB article in 2013 when she was pregnant with her second child. She said she worked 16 hrs a day and spent approximately 1 hrs and 15 minutes/ weekday with her daughter.I wonder how much time she will spend with her three kids once she resumes working.I can’t imagine she still works 14-16 hrs a day.

    • WinnieCoopersMom says:

I’m wondering if that means she mostly works via email – as in, she can be reached for up to 14/16 hrs/day – as opposed to physically being in the office all those hours. I would imagine she has a home office and works a lot that way too…just speculation though.

      • crtb says:

No she is out of the house 14 to 16 hours a day. And I think it is sad that her children see her so little and I am tired of people using the excuse well men do it all of the time. So what? you have a group of men who are not connected to their children. So that makes it OK? She is going to regret her choices when she gets older and her children are strangers to her.
