    Congrats Janet!!!! Yayyyyyyyyy

    • gwen says:

Maybe she’s adopting or using a surrogate.

    • Denisemich says:

She is pregnant. Good for her. Money can buy a pregnancy late in life. Great for her.

    • doofus says:

always liked Ms. Jackson, and I’m happy for her, and I hope she stays healthy while preggo, but…

…I’m sad at how much she’s whittled away her nose. she looks a little weird in that vid.

and WHY WHY WHY do they need to photoshop Kerry Washington at ALL? the woman’s face is practically perfect.

    • Magnoliarose says:

I say good for her too.

  2. Naya says:

    Wtf @ that Azealia/Palin article

  3. me says:

The chances of it being a natural conception are low, but it could happen. I don’t see her getting IVF in the middle of a tour though. Or perhaps she all of a sudden decided she wanted to have a child and is doing IVF and had to cancel the tour? I don’t know but it’s none of my business anyway lol.

    • notasugarhere says:

She said when they got married that they wanted to try for kids. Laura Linney had hers at 49, and she disappeared completely for almost a year to make it happen. With today’s genetic screening for IVF it takes a heck of a lot of money, one healthy embryo, and possibly months of bed rest.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Donor eggs are usually involved at that age. Own-egg success rates with IVF are truly minuscule after age 42; if your Fallopian tubes are open, you’re just as well trying naturally. However, bed rest is not advisable in a significantly higher percentage of pregnancies after 40 than before, as there are so few conditions where it is helpful.

  4. Mia4s says:

These days I don’t think there is any shock at Janet’s news. Could be IVF, adoption, surrogacy. Not our business, but I wish her the best.

  5. InvaderTak says:

Bit O/T but this really bothered me. Pajiba just turned a good story about Masie Williams and her thoughts on feminism into a pitchfork party for Jeremy Renner. Seriously? They couldn’t just discuss what MW had to say? Couldn’t discuss that for an entire article? Focus on a positive? Something that would actually bring about a discussion of the topic at hand and the comments MW made and any merit they have of their own? How about posting a picture of HER for the header at least? Noooo. None of that happened. They brought out the pitchforks and one specific example (because there aren’t anymore/sarcasm) for people to get in a lather. That’s great for discussion. It’s like tumblr for working age people over there now./end tirade.

    • Don't kill me I'm French says:

Pajiba (that I adored) is obsessed negatively by Jeremy Renner and DOR.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Sadly there’s a lot of times a positive women’s interest story somehow has to become associated and defined by a man.

      • Apsutter says:

Pajiba is not one of those sites. They discuss women’s accomplishments and set backs almost daily. Plus the discussions are usually more measured, thoughtful, and insightful than basically anywhere else on the Internet. Celebitchy & Pajiba are basically my internet safe space

    • Kate says:

Er, that kind of thing happens here daily…

    • Apsutter says:

Eh…they’re still just all worked up because his disappointing thoughts on thing made it to the final four of their disappointments tournament

  6. brooksie says:

I couldn’t even finish watching the trailer of “Swiss Army Man.” It has left me completely dumbfounded.

  7. AlmondJoy says:

I love Janet!! Doesn’t matter whether she’s using a surrogate or IVF, just so very happy for her ❤️

Sidenote: can we please get Black Girls Rock coverage? The show was amazing and it brought me to tears multiple times last night.

  8. go girl says:

Whatever. Low ticket sales? She and her husband have been together for a few years. she’s been a pop star her whole life. At her age, she just suddenly decided to start planning a family in the middle of her huge comeback tour, which she’d probably been planning for months/years? None of this makes sense.

    • Jayna says:

Very strange. I can’t tell if she’s pregnant or going to try to get pregnant and needed rest during IVF treatments or has a surrogate and wants to pretend she carried the child. She did say planning our family, not starting our family. It’s hard to figure out.

But out of the blue to do this in the middle of her tour is very bizarre to me if it’s all of a sudden doing IVF or using a surrogate, which you think would have been planned, because although possible, I doubt she naturally ended up pregnant during the tour. I can’t believe she would be touring and undergoing IVF at the same time. Also you can’t just quit a tour. The cost is prohibitive, and you have to have a great reason insurancewise to do it. Even Mick Jagger who postponed part of his tour because of L’Wren’s suicide, their insurance still isn’t just forking over that money easily for the losses.

I love Janet, though, so I am happy for her.

    • AnneR says:

      Low ticket sales obviously.

    • Artemis says:

It’s downright disgraceful to treat the few fans she has like this. She could have easily put out the album without prepping the tour. She’s bending over backwards to make out like the tour wasn’t cut short because of a lack of interest. So many fans cannot get refunds and even worse, some booked hotels and transport!

I knew it was done when she claimed to be ‘sick’ and she cancelled more and more dates as time went on and promised to reschedule. Unbelievable if what she claims now (planning a family) was on her mind this whole time. Really though? Just be honest instead of lying. She had years of not being in the spotlight so why plan a family when you do have work? No sense. And if they were planning for years already, she should have never promised a tour, nobody would have cared if she didn’t announce a tour especially for health/family reasons (good for her to be honest). But girl please. Even Live Nation tried to do damage control saying she was so busy so better to cancel some shows. Nah if it’s selling, she would have performed obviously. They were handing out refunds.

Good to know I’ll never see a JJ tour, lies and false promises. Good luck with the baby though although I’m extremely skeptical.

      • Jayna says:

Oh, so it was lack of ticket sales? I didn’t really follow how her tour was going. That makes more sense. Because unless she was in a high-risk pregnancy, there’s really no way she could cancel this tour and the insurance cover it. Something just felt off about the whole announcement.

      • SilkyMalice says:

A pregnancy at 50 is (by definition) a high risk one.

    • claire says:

Yeah. She’s been cancelling and rescheduling for a while now. I hope people can get refunds. It’s not reliable to buy a ticket for her and there was lots of talk that the tix weren’t selling well.

    • Apsutter says:

I feel like it’s not that bc the tour is almost over anyways. She cancelled her first stop in PGH in December bc she had to get surgery or something. Maybe it is medical and ongoing. Either way we’ll probably never know bc of how insanely private she is

  9. lucy2 says:

I just saw that she was coming to my area, I had forgotten she was going to tour. Whatever is going on, best of luck to her.

  10. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Best of luck, Janet. When I glimpsed the headline, I was confused because I thought cryptically was that word where they freeze your brain for future use. How humbling.

  11. Miss M says:

Congrats and good luck, Janet!!!! Get your well deserved rest!

  12. Jenn4037 says:

Beyonce going all Swifty on us.

  13. Rockin Robin says:

I wish nothing but the best for her.

  14. jeanpierre says:

I was supposed to see her on april 10th in Paris with all my girls just before my wedding, needless to say I was puzzled by the cancellation so yeah she better have a baby… Any way I cannot be mad at her for so long, she’s legend. I’m just sad I’m never going to see her now, she will never come back in Europe now.

  15. Umokkkk says:

She is lying down, looks like a luxe robe she is wearing, she probably has to go on bedrest. She is pregnant, probably by ivf, and likely has a preterm labor issue. Those issues are unexpected and some women COULD tour without any issues in their pregnancy. Some can not and issues crop up which require us to take a time out and rest. There is no real reason in my mind that she’d film FROM BED unles she is on doctor ordered bedrest. She did say her doctors tkold her to rest.

  16. Reece says:

She could be pregnant. I read once that the highest rate of unexpected pregnancies are in teenage girls and women in their 40’s; so…Congrats what ever it is.

I totally need to see Swiss Army Man! I saw the trailer yesterday and lost it.
    I know I’m weird.

    • kibbles says:

I have heard of many “surprise” natural pregnancies among women in their 40s who thought they could never have children. Perhaps the body responds this way before shutting the factory down permanently. I always think there is a chance as long as a woman has not yet hit menopause, and with today’s scientific advancements, there is more hope than before for women who want to get pregnant after 40.

      • Malificent says:

It’s possible at 49 to get pregnant without medival intervention. Menopause typically takes years, so it’s not like fertility disappears overnight. And some women maintain a level of fertility later than others. However, it’s statistically VERY unlikely. It’s also unlikely with IVF at that age. IVF can help with conception for eggs that have been produced, but at that age, the average woman has very few, if any, viable eggs left. Janet may be using her own frozen eggs or embryos, or she may be using donor eggs. Eithwe way, best of luck to her.

  17. Colette says:

    She is probably already pregnant

  18. Apsutter says:

I hope everything goes well if she’s preggo. I’m still bummed about her PGH stop being bumped twice tho…can’t wait to see her later!

  19. Magnoliarose says:

I hope Jessica Biel is not aiming to restart her pap strolling career. I know she and Earth Mama pap stroller are tight but we have Garner and don’t need another. Her game has always been weak and unoriginal.
I remember when she complained about being known for her butt and then continued to highlight her butt. Or the too beautiful for acting comments. She doesn’t seem to fit anywhere except as Mrs Timberlake these days. Nothing wrong with that but I just wonder why and what the strolls are for. Maybe her restaurant? Idk.

  20. Kate Kack says:

Normally I would be so excited for her. But she has rescheduled this tour already once. Now I have to change plans for the second time. Get your yourself together THEN tour or don’t but this constant rescheduling is BS.

  21. Portugal the Stan says:

Child at 50? So selfish. Give it up and move on.

    • tracking says:

Why is it selfish? Women in my family routinely live to be 100. If you’ve got the energy, resources, and good health, that baby could be coming into a great situation not a disadvantaged one. And Ms. Jackson is not your typical 50 year old.

      • SpareRib says:

Losing your Mother in your teens really damn sucks, trust me. Hopefully she lasts into old age and has the health to cope with a child.

  22. Yolanda says:

Remember when Geena Davis had twins at 48 in 2004? After having her FIRST kid at 46 in ’02? Media covered but no one made a stink about it. Since then, women younger than that age have had kids and it was a scandal. It’s not just the internet, press in general is so political. Cameron Diaz is only 43, and is only RUMORED to be pregnant and people are already ostracizing her. When Demi Moore had a low-key miscarriage at the end of her marriage to Ashton, Wendy Williams was making bitchy remarks on her show like I told you so. Can’t even imagine the attacks that will come Janet’s way if she actually does have a baby.

    • sara says:

I also remember that no one cared that Geena Davis had children that late in age; especially with her much younger 4th husband. Even the age differences didn’t create any buzz. No one cared. And she still looks amazing, by the way.
I think there is more controversy because the media has gone full psycho on bump watches for celebrities and middle America has followed along.

  23. reg says:

The daughter she had as a teenager is now pregnant,
father signed away his parental rights
she probably plans to pass her grandchild as
her own child, no need for IVF
This b —ch is crazy trying to kidnap
micheals jackson children to gain control of his money
and her maids diseparring in the middle east.
This is no late life pregnancy…
