People: Orlando Bloom wants to marry & have babies with Katy Perry

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom started in January of this year. The beginning was somewhat inauspicious, in that Orlando seemed REALLY into Katy and she really didn’t seem into it at all. At some point, Orlando did win her over, although I still believe that Katy is nowhere near as “into it” as ‘Lando. He follows her around – she does not follow him around. She’s the star, he’s the supporting player (if that). Plus, I just think Katy looked totally over ‘Lando when they were on vacation and he was literally swinging his d-ck around. So are we supposed to believe that Katy and Orlando are headed towards “happily ever after” and babies? Um…

Katy Perry’s relationship with Orlando Bloom is stronger than ever, but could the “Rise” singer be sporting a new engagement ring on her finger soon? The couple – who were first linked in January after they were spotted getting flirty at a post-Golden Globes party – are “not engaged yet, but seem to be heading that way,” a Bloom source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The actor, 39, who shares 5-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, “always gushes about Katy and thinks she is amazing in a million ways,” says the source. “He would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids. He hasn’t been this serious about a girl since Miranda.”

However, the pair are in no rush to walk down the aisle. “Katy’s divorce from Russell [Brand] really messed her up emotionally,” says a Perry friend. The comedian, 41, filed for divorce from Perry, 31, in late 2011 just one year after their fairy-tale wedding in India, and the singer has talked about the toll the broken marriage took on her.

“She’s not going to rashly make a huge commitment like marriage again unless she thinks it’s absolutely right,” says the friend. However, that doesn’t mean Perry’s not head over heels for Bloom. “They’ve been getting along really well,” adds the friend. “Katy gives him space, and they’re both pretty independent. They are serious about each other and their relationship.”

Again, it seems like Orlando is more into it than Katy. He’s thinking about marriage and babies and she’s like, “I like my space, thanks!” I do believe that Russell Brand messed her up a bit, in that they were terribly incompatible, were rarely together and were in completely different phases of their lives. I can see why she would be gun-shy about pulling the trigger on another engagement/marriage too, especially with Orlando, you know? He really doesn’t have anything else going on. It’s another combination where they have very different lives. Then again, Katy just has a terrible “picker” when it comes to men, and she might marry Orlando just because he asks.

Does People just run the same copy over and over again with just the names changed?

And does Orly really think all this heavy PR is going to get him jobs?

  2. chaine says:

He does seem like he is insanely, over-the-top into her, like Tom-Cruise-couch-jumping into her, while she’s just “meh” about him. Take the pix where they were in the water, and he was grabbing her girls and staring adoringly into her eyes… and the look on her face, in contrast, was very skeptical.

    • Megan says:

Orlando seems like someone who is not intimidated by his partner’s success, which is a major plus for someone as successful as Katy.

  3. Hazel says:

and live off her earnings and fame….

    • David says:

He is worth $35 million. Not sure he needs her $$.

      • Jegede says:

Because he is apparently worth it, does NOT mean he actually has it.

Orlando is not getting big paychecks.

And I won’t stock much credibility to these rich lists.
        Many of them are bogus

Examples – Before Amber Heards’ financies were revealed, the talk was she was ‘worth’ $10 million when in fact she had barely $1 million in cash. Plus Johnny Depp has been liquidating assets left and right, I doubt he has even half the $400 million he is allegedly worth.

      • Hazel says:

So? Models are also worth millions, doesn’t stop them from wanting more and going after billionaires.

      • Miss Jupitero says:

I think all of those celebrity net worth figures are heavily inflated. One reason they are skewed is that they are often calculated based upon real estate holdings. The algorithm does not take into account the fact that people often live well beyond their means and the house might actually belong to the bank.

They are also skewed by publicists for the sake of vanity– everybody in this industry needs to be perceived as being very successful even when they aren’t. It reminds me of that scene from Entourage where the the publicist scolds the up and coming actor for thinking he can live in a crappy one bedroom rental while he auditions. People notice. Same with the car you drive.

There are also other intangibles: having an income that is upwards of 100 million might not be necessary to pay your kid’s tuition, but if you want to circulate within a certain crowd, populated by directors and producers who could in fact get you a job, it helps. Having a partner who is A+ List also can get you a lot of attention and grease some skids. Take a look at the Hiddles strategy. It works.

The money is all part of this high stakes game. It has nothing whatever to do with what you “need” to live.

      • Bridget says:

Doubt he’s worth that much. Those estimates are usually far, far off because they just add up whatever the celeb has supposedly earned in their lifetime, and don’t account for stuff like taxes, representation & lawyers, child support, all that jazz. I hope he negotiated a good paycheck for that last Hobbit installment.

    • LeAnn Stinks says:

Funny, even though Katy is very pretty, I thought the same thing.

His ex wife made sure she bagged a whale, so I was curious, if Orlando was trying to do the same, on his end. After all, it is not like the jobs are rolling in the way they used to for him. I always wondered if he watches GOT, and says to himself, “I could played John Snow”-LOL!

Anyway, it is possible, that after her failed marriage to Russell Brand, and her tennis relationship with d-bag John Mayer, she may have trust issues and be gun shy, hence her ambivalent expressions with Bloom.

  4. shelly says:

I reckon Bloom and Hiddleston were involved in an elaborate game of chicken, see who blinks first and marries their pop princess.

The thing is I actually think Hiddles as strayed off script and really likes TS.

    • Starkiller says:

What a bizarre comment. Do they even know each other? They don’t appear to move in the same circles at all.

    • Bread and Circuses says:

My feeling is Bloom is the one who is genuinely smitten, and Hiddleston started dating Swift as pure PR — although I don’t think he’d have done it if he didn’t genuinely like being around Taylor; Swiftie and Tiddles do seem like compatible personalities.

  5. QQ says:

he comes off so PRESSED! and like sure by rights he should be, Dingbat Millionairesses really arent in abundance but Chill, Fam!

  6. boredblond says:

Oh, doubting me wonders if he had the same happy-ever-after feeling before he married his ex?

  7. LannisterForever says:

Well, he’s prefereble to John Mayer.

But I still miss her with Russel Brand, I know they didn’t work but I shipped them so hard when they got together and she looked really in love with him.

    • SK says:

I like Russell but I don’t think he treated her well. My long-term ex’s very close family friend is one of her long-time back-up dancers and he said that he cheated on her a LOT and that she was constantly flying to see him whilst she was in the middle of a gruelling tour and he never came to see her. Everyone on her tour thought it was a toxic relationship for her. She’s supposedly amazing to work for and treats her staff as family/friends so they’re all extremely loyal and protective. I do think they were a bad match as she was still partying etc and he is/was sober; however I think that there was an awful lot of bad behaviour from his end.

  8. Lyka says:

I mean, the fact that he doesn’t have a ton going on career-wise might be perfect for Katy. He can stay at home and take care of the family stuff, and she can do her own thing and travel and be a mogul. Then he’ll dote on her when she comes home.

I think we have this expectation for super successful women to get with super successful men who are worthy of them. But I can see how it would be a good balance to be with someone more low-key and less professionally ballin’.

  9. Candy says:

He is such a dork! I’m sorry but ewwww

  10. Jegede says:

I think Perry’s still hung up on John Mayer.

And Bloom is trying to one up Miranda Kerr’s recent engagement.

  11. Crystal says:

Just came to say he is hot!

  12. Joni says:

People is so annoying, what’s the point of this story? Just tell us when they’re actually engaged.

  13. jferber says:

I think Orlando is a non-stop womanizer and she will have no happily ever after with him.

  14. Freddy Spaghetti says:

Orlando is better than that douche canoe John Mayer. So Katy will probably go back to him.

  15. Keaton says:

Sue me, I kinda like this duo. He seems like a really nice guy. Am I missing something awful about him? I’m not a Katy fan or anything but I feel bad for her after she dealt with John Mayer’s douchebaggery. I like the idea of her being with a good guy that’s really into her. Orly’s adoration for Katy looks more authentic to me than Tom’s adoration of Taylor (which is funny because Orly can’t act and Tom is really talented lol).
But Tiddles is alot more entertaining than whatever you call Orlando/Katy so please bring me more Tiddles!

    • Usain says:

Same. I’ve really grown to like Katy with her political activism this past year. Always felt bad about the way she seemed to be the, uh, “bottom” in each relationship she’s had. I’m glad she gets to be top dog for once. Orlando seems like a sweet, relatively stable guy who will support her, unlike Brand and Mayer.

    • Bridget says:

Orlando is a hard partyer, and has been for a long, long time. So has Katy, actually (why do you think she and Brand were doomed to fail?). This is a guy who got into a slap fight with Justin Bieber in Ibiza. Though he does at least look super into her.

  16. Sarah says:

I think these two are cute together and he is a huge step up from ANY man she has ever associated with. Yeah, he isn’t up to much these days but maybe he has something in the works? Katy is also a step up from Kerr who was a professional golddigger. She got with Orlando when he was still something and people may have guessed he’d be bigger… a few years later, his career is floundering and she is looking around for Biebers and billionaires.

I could see them getting married and having a few kids. I don’t know if Katy wants kids but she is a good person and I bet she’d be a good mother. She’s only 31 so she still has plenty of time! Bloom made one super cute baby so I bet their kids will be beautiful too.

  17. Chinoiserie says:

Orlando might not be perfect but neither is she, I still like both and think they fit well together. I do not know why women can not date less succesfull men when other way around happens all the time and it is not like he is nobody with nothing. He was at the top once and who ever knows could her career last forever either. I do not really feel this will last but I would be happy if it did.

    • Bridget says:

I see nothing wrong with her dating someone less successful, though I get major red flags with Orlando Bloom.

Also, I have a hard time picturing Katy putting her career on hold to have a baby. She could totally turn around and announce that she’s pregnant tomorrow, but for some reason she doesn’t strike me as someone that’s desperate to be on the mommy train.

  18. serena says:

At least he’s way better than John Mayer.

  19. Fan says:

Miranda, save Flynn!! Orlando is not thinking well.

  20. TheOtherSam says:

Orly is hot and I think they are compatible and could be very happy together longterm, but he needs to cool it with the partying and his party-type ‘habits’ first, if you get my drift.

  21. TyrantDestroyed says:

I don’t think she is over him, I actually believe they could potentially end up married soon.

  22. Carol says:

Maybe she does love him but is afraid of getting hurt so she hides her feeling she is more careful than before to show affection
