Why is Donald Trump going after Mika Brzezinski & Joe Scarborough?

wenn28768997

I feel like I’ve been talking a lot, in the past few months, about how I watch Morning Joe when I get up in the morning. The show is hosted by Joe Scarborough (THE WORST) and Mika Brzezinski (ALSO THE WORST), but the thing about it is that I actually think it’s the best political morning news show. Like, it’s awful… but everything else is even more awful. I enjoy seeing the first segment, where Joe, Mika and a panel discuss the morning’s political headlines and the perfect way to start my day is by getting my blood boiling at Scarborough’s rudeness and bulls—t. Also: it’s absolutely no secret that Joe and Mika are in the midst of some kind of romantic relationship. MJ watchers have known that for a while, and it was confirmed by Page Six a few months ago, when we learned that Mika had quietly divorced her husband (so she could be with Joe).

Well, guess what? Donald Trump hates Joe and Mika as well, but for different reasons. For weeks now, Joe has been hammering the sh-t out of Trump, and this morning episode was another classic Trump-bashing panel discussion. Mika’s shtick is that she’s been over Trump for months and she doesn’t hide her disgust for everything about him. So this is what Trump tweeted:

Do I think Mika is neurotic? Sure. That’s part of her personality, and if she’s not nervously jittering away about something, she’s hazy and muted, like she took a tranquilizer. But notice HOW Trump attacks two TV commentators: Trump goes after the woman. Trump attacks the woman as a “not very bright mess” (pot, meet kettle) and a neurotic, because bitches love to be called neurotic, eh? Next he’ll call her “hysterical” and say that she needs to “settle down and let the men speak.” And then Trump attempts to “out” Mika and Joe as being in a relationship… which might be scandalous if Mika was still married, I guess.

The bigger question is: why is Donald Trump picking a fight with the Morning Joe anchors? WTF does it matter?

He wants to be President but acts like a toddler. Such a big, orange baby.

    • Cynthia says:

Can you imagine being a Donald Trump defender? The back flips, somersaults that is being done is a thing for the books. I cannot wait for a tell all book of behind the scenes in this election.

      • GingerCrunch says:

^^^Omg, this! A reason to live!!!

      • Naya says:

I just watched Weiner which is the documentary that was filmed during Anthony Weiners disastrous Mayoral campaign. It’s as insane as it is hilarious. I wish to God some documentary film maker would propose a similar all access arrangement with Trump. You know it would appeal to his narcissism, I don’t even think it would be a hard sell. Somebody needs to get on this ASAP

      • holly hobby says:

Watch for Game Change 3. You know those authors are sharpening their knives.

    • mia girl says:

He is a complete man-child with little emotional maturity.

You know what’s been driving me bananas over the past few days?
Trump pretends to act like a semi-normal person for 48 hours and suddenly you have people saying, he is behaving Presidential and substantive!

The bar is so low for him that all he needs to do is tuck his ID-driven impulses away for two days and suddenly people think he has substance. Never mind the 450+ days prior since he announced his candidacy, or even the almost 22,000 days he’s been on this earth!

      • Neelyo says:

Yes. All he needs to do is act civil for a few minutes and it’s called a pivot. As if being professional for a few minutes eliminates everything that’s come before it. It’s disgusting.

      • Tate says:

It is both crazy and scary.

Good news . Dick head has pulled his trip to my city at the end of the month. His planed trip was so unpopular that the very few Republicans in my town said they weren’t going to donate . He isn’t welcomed in my town or state. More people would’ve been protesting then attending . Love my city and State. We don’t tolerate bigotry and hate.

    • Leona says:

Please let me know what City or state u live in…sounds like a place my family needs to be!! I am in a NW suburb of Atlanta and just had someone come at me outside of Publix because I had a Hillary tshirt on. I forgot I was wearing it when they came up waving their fists in my face, freaking out and swearing about how he hates me F***** shirt over and over. My son was with me and I am a bit shaken up. We had planned to move next year. I wished I had handled better. I know it’s not to be unexpected here but the crazy in some seems more violent this go around.

      • aims says:

Portland Oregon. It’s beautiful here and sane

      • B n A fn says:

@Leona, you should go to Live in NYC . I don’t believe anyone would shake their fist in your face. Trump is losing about 20% to Hillary in NY. Trump did not win his district in NYC primary and his children did not vote for him because they had forget to chance from Democrat to independence.

I watch morning Joe several time per week. Joe was helping Trump with his campaign for a long time. He was trying to show him about how to be presidential. Trump in my opinion, is mentally ill so he could not follow instructions for more than one to two days at a time. I’m guessing Joe just got fed up and cut him loose, but they always make up and become friends again. Mika just cut trump loose and never looked back, hence the bitterness towards her more than Joe.

      • Tate says:

Leona, that is awful. I am sorry that happened to you. I might gag a little when I see a Trump bumper sticker but that thought of yelling and shaking my first at someone?? That is just pure crazy.

      • mayamae says:

@Leona, I live near you and I’m not a bit surprised. The people here are crazy. I’m from the Chicago suburbs.

      • adastraperaspera says:

@Leona, I’m so sorry this happened to you! I live in the bluest city in Tennessee, and we still routinely have a range of shady things go on, like our Obama yard signs were stolen in the night and my car had food smeared on the Obama bumper sticker when it was parked downtown. I’ve lived all over the country and never had this kind of stuff happen before. I’m getting extra Hillary yard signs, to be ready. Take care!

      • Mary Mary says:

Leona: Sorry, to hear about this. I live in a predominately blue suburb of blue Seattle PNW and stealth (sneaky) removal of political signs goes on around here also.

Our family no longer puts political bumper stickers on our vehicles because people do see those bumper stickers and sometimes are provoked to act out.

Exhibiting irrational and such negative behavior and influence makes any sane person question why would anyone want to follow or vote for Trump?

      • Amy says:

Oh Leona, I’m so sorry. I hope you reported it, even to the security guard! Stay safe!!

    • isabelle says:

shhhh @sims, please stop saying nice thing about us, keep us a secret 😉 It rains all the time, everyone is granola and you have to drink craft beeer, all organic food and organic coffee, no exceptions! Oh and have you heard about the giant life destroying earthquake!

      • aims says:

I beg your pardon. You’re right it’s an awful place to live. With all the green trees, amazing beaches, mountains , clean air and water. It’s awful ! !! Lol

P.s I’m fourth generation Oregonian . I’ll be forever grateful that my family stayed and gave it a go.

      • Amy says:

        Yes, it’s absolutely horrible. 😉

      • isabelle says:

Truly admire the families that moved out here, made it a go and stayed. I’m originally from the South and think true Oregonians are “stoic” not over reactionary, tough but friendly. Credit that to what it took to survive the trip and then survive the land. Have you read the book Astoria by Peter Stark, great book and describes vivid what it took to survive the march & settling Oregon.

    • Amy says:

YASS!! I’m so proud too! (Fellow PDX-er!)

All I want to know is when is Barnacle going to buy Mika that truck?

    • B n A fn says:

@Leona, you should go to Live in NYC . I don’t believe anyone would shake their fist in your face. Trump is losing about 20% to Hillary in NY. Trump did not win his district in NYC primary and his children did not vote for him because they had forget to chance from Democrat to independence.

    • B n A fn says:

@PM, Barnacle bought her a toy truck.

Btw, trump wants to talk about joe and Mika, they are both divorced now. Trump cheated on all his wives, three wives, five children from three wives. He should mind his own business . When is he going to get his 3rd wife to prove she was not an illegal immigrant who got married to get her green card. He promised she was going to hold a news conference to explain he visa situation on how she came and stayed in the US in the first place.

One of the most disgraceful person that is one of Trump suragate is mayor Giuliani, he is lower than low. I’m wondering what position drump is offering him if he wins. What a dispictable human being.

  4. Bridget says:

“Why does Donald Trump do something” is like asking why an angry toddler does something. Because he has no self control.

    • Megan says:

I’m on board with the conspiracy theory that Trump is getting ready to launch his own news network. He is trying to discredit all existing news programs to ensure his followers tune into his station which will undoubtedly be a heap of crazy.

      • What was that says:

        Exactly right!….
The Breibart and Roger Ailes hire is part of that!
He has apparently always wanted to be in the TV spotlight..hence various attempts..but got fired from The Apprentice!.He did not run that show he is the presenter ..
But everything that man touches turns to failure..He is not a skilled Manager or Successful Businessman ..debts..bankrupt x 6!! are some of the examples ..
So hopefully it will fail after a year and Murdoch will see to that!!

      • Louisa says:

I hadn’t heard that, but it makes a lot of sense. Especially with him hiring Roger Ailes (sp?)

      • Keaton says:

Oh this is a really good theory @Megan!

      • Megan says:

The article on today’s NYT about Hannity advising the Trump campaign just made me pull my tin foil hat on a bit tighter. Hannity is gunning for a big spot on Trump news. If he hires Ann Coulter I’m building a bunker.

      • Cran says:

I don’t believe it’s a conspiracy theory. He’s been looking into it for months. It’s a logical move for him to make. It will be All Trump All The Time. He has a built in base of supporters who will pay for his cable service & we will be in danger because a Trump media company is a greater problem than a Trump presidency.

      • Bridget says:

Considering the level of success Trump’s ventures usually attain, I’m not particularly worried. It’s entirely possible that Trump the network will go the way of Trump Modeling, Trump Water, Trump Vodka, etc.

  5. doofus says:

why? because he’s a petty little man-child and has to lash out at anyone who criticizes him.

“can be baited with a tweet”…or any public criticism, be it on TV, radio, or any form of social media.

  6. Cynthia says:

I just can’t with Donald Trump, I have stopped listening to him. I truly believe either he wants to lose or something is mentally wrong with him. He is smart enough to know that none of his behavior is presidential, so what is really going on? Did he bet and was asked to lose? Did he make a deal with the Clintons?

Go listen to past interviews of Trump with Howard Stern and even though his ego was always an issue, this man actually made sense, he had some solid ideas. I am just very confused. Not a fan or anything of Donald Trump, just questioning what is happening, the water just ain’t right.

  7. lassie says:

Because he can’t help himself. His new team has effectively neutered him from going off the cuff during his speeches (teleprompter only) and he is lashing out at those who are openly criticizing him and hurting his feelings.

    • nicole says:

I wonder is the new team going to do any good for him in the polls, he was definetly more subdued last week, but can he keep it up, as he said himself ‘I dont want to pivot, I want to be me’, I just dont think he can help himself from saying something that keeps him in the media spotlight, lets see how he gets on this week, will be interesting to watch.

  8. Sam says:

Because Joe was the one who first leaked that whole “why can’t we just use the nukes” thing. And it’s become a major talking point for the Clinton campaign. Trump probably hates that it came out. It makes him look insane. Joe is not my cup of tea, but he’s been pretty open (or at least very strongly insinuating) that Trump is totally bonkers and would destroy the country. The guy is conservative, but he’s no Hannity – he knows what’s up.

  9. Neelyo says:

Messy breakup fallout. Those two hacks were the biggest Trump supporters around when he first announced his candidacy. While interviewing Trump, they were caught on a hot mic during a commercial break kissing his ass and asking if the interview questions were okay.

A few weeks ago Scarborough finally figured out Trump sucks and has been on the attack ever since.

  10. Jayna says:

This man is emotionally unfit to be POTUS. His new team had him lay low for like a day, and he just couldn’t help himself. What an orange, immature blowhard.

  11. mia girl says:

How’s that pivot going Kellyanne Conway? Just yesterday you assured us that your boss does not make personal insults.

  12. Heather says:

They were his biggest fans during the primary and have been outright TROLLING him non-stop since the Democratic convention, hoping to get some press off of his inevitable negative tweet.

Too bad it took him this long to even hear about them. Guess they don’t rank a Ted Cruz style take-down or even a Carly Fiorina level take down. Clearly, Joe is no Megan Kelly. No one much cares what he thinks, even Trump, who cares what just about everybody thinks of him.

    • isabelle says:

Mika wasn’t a fan but did claim from very beginning he would be their candidate. Her as well as Ann Coulter were mocked and laughed at for the claim Trump would be nommed.

  13. justme says:

I don’t know how anyone watches anything on MSNBC. I don’t know how anyone watches a lot of these political shows because everyone is always screeching over each and you can understand what the heck their point is. It would be nice to see people have normal conversations discussing the issues and allowing each other to speak. There is no way Donald Trump is getting elected but that doesn’t make Hillary look any better. The lesser of two evils…what a way to have to make a choice.

    • What was that says:

I am curious if many people or yourself, Infact, are now considering the other candidates instead?

    • Rhiley says:

I admit I watch a lot of MSNBC and listen to it on Sirius, but I also know it isn’t good for me and it is no better than Fox News. It is extremely one sided. I get it. But during election cycles it sucks me in.

    • Lolad says:

I’m a shameless rachel maddow fan and love her shamelessly liberal show. She always gives a mini history lesson that ties into a current event which is nice.

  14. LisaH says:

Some insight into the mind of a Trump supporter:

My bf’s friend is staying with us PT to get some construction work done at our house. This guy is OBSESSED with Trump. Can’t stop talking about him. Why?

Trump went on Alex Jones’ show to pander to the conspiracy nuts and now this guy actually believes that Trump is going to defeat the Illuminati, that Trump is speaking in code during his speeches to tell us that he is going to defeat the Illuminati. Seriously.

He even muttered, “I’m going to move to Russia…” one day in a moment of frustration. I had to bite back guffawing at that one.

What I’ve observed is this: it’s all mirrors. Trump only trusts his kids because they are his mirrors. Alex Jones sees himself in Trump (idiotic blowhard) and my bf’s friend sees himself in both Jones and Trump (again, total blowhard).

    It’s. So. Bizarre.

    • JustCrimmles says:

I would laugh, if that weren’t so terrifying. Illuminati nuts are like the Scientology nuts, minus the personal religion bit, no? I know people that truly believe the Illuminati killed Prince, Michael Jackson, that they are gunning for all the top black entertainers. I want a bomb shelter to keep myself away from the real bomb shelter whackadoos.

      • Megan says:

Wait. I though Beyoncé and Jay Z were the head of the Illuminati. Why would they kill black entertainers? These conspiracy theories are so darn hard to follow! 😜

      • isabelle says:

Actually do think there are family empires that have huge control of the worlds financials dealings and a few Billionaires controlling it as well… but instead of focusing on the truth about a few wealth people control the economy, they have to include lizard people, satanic rituals and occultism. The truth isn’t enough for them.

      • JustCrimmles says:

@Isabelle, there was, a very, very, very long time ago, a group that called itself the Illuminati. They were in Switzerland (world finance angle) but were disbanded by the church, iirc. Like, seventeenth century or thereabouts. People have used the name ever since, so maybe they did go underground and create a network of super rich people that want to control everything and make us all their brainless drones (*cough* fox news *cough*) That said, they’ve literally had CENTURIES to accomplish this, yet, here we are.

People look for patterns and symbols and signs in everything. It’s a very human thing, but it’s also kind of dumb, depending on what it’s applied to (if I’m making sense.) Patterns in symptoms to diagnose illness? Great. Patterns in music videos made by people who are outright trolling a bunch of brain trusts? Well, even the entertainment deserves to be entertained, right? 😉

    • Naya says:

I don’t follow your buddy’s reasoning. Wouldn’t Trump, as one of the one percent, more likely be an Illuminati stooge? Not that the whole conspiracy theory isn’t crazy but surely there should still be some internal logical consistency.

  15. Rhiley says:

I feel the same about Morning Joe. I start my day on it, and love most of the panel, but can’t stand Joe and Mika. I love Nicole Wallce (I am a democrat) and wish she would host but she probably makes more money on The View. I think it is rich how Mika hosts something called Know Your Value yet she has built a career based on a man talking over her and down to her all morning. Some value…

    • kori says:

I like Nicole too–and am also a Dem. she’s at least a smart woman who I don’t have to agree with but can listen to. Plus she blew the whistle on the Palin monster in Game Change so points for that! She’s not on The View anymore though. She left months ago–not screechy enough I guess.

  16. CK says:

This is the cycle. Trump “pivots”, has to read from a teleprompter for a few days, then he lashes out at someone. I mean remember when he pivoted after attacking the gold star family? In less than 48 hours, he called for “Second Amendment People” to take care of Hillary and proclaimed that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the founders of ISIS. What’s glorious about this, is that the Clinton campaign doesn’t even have to bait the guy at this point and when they start doing it, he’s going to lose his mind.

  17. heynow says:

Mika called Trump a drunk on the air. Anyone who knows him knows that his brother died from alcoholism and he himself doesn’t drink, smoke or do drugs.

    • Tate says:

I think I find Trumps behavior even more frightening if he is dead sober. Scary that his mind thinks that way in a natural state.

      • Mary Mary says:

An acquaintance who is a nurse, said she has treated geriatric patients who behave very similar to 70 year old Donald Trump. One minute the patient seems and talks most rational and the next minute they behave and say things most unpredictable.

        It is a theory folks.

  18. pinetree13 says:

My first thought when reading that was, “Why is he only attacking the woman?! Yeesh! You think you’d at least try and hide your blatant misogynistic world view. One thing that has always confused me about misogynists….why are women held to a higher standard if you truly believe they’re inferior?! If you think they’re inferior shouldn’t your standards for them be lower? Or if you don’t have lower standards for them, doesn’t that mean you don’t actually think they’re inferior?

    WHICH IS IT?!?!?!

  19. Patty says:

Donald Trump is the perfect example of how low the bar is set for white men in America. Like seriously. It’s insane.

    • What was that says:

I said something similar in the Lochte thread and was criticised for it…very strongly for even raising it..but I am a white female in Europe and I see that ,particularly now..

  20. Ally8 says:

Well, they started out the election kissing his behind during the primary. He would call in while he was getting his weave re-done and they’d let him yammer and say complimentary things. Now they’ve turned on him and he’s having his usual tantrum.

There’s a theory he’s bummed about losing the election but planning to launch a rival network to Fox News. I look forward to that public debacle, since every single one of his business ventures has been a disaster. Also looking forward to the inevitable scandal about siphoning off campaign money into his own pockets to prop up his Potemkin village “successful businessman” image.

  21. Jana says:

Is it just me, or when someone says “pivot” does your mind automatically hear Ross yelling it at Rachel and Chandler, who are trying to help him move a couch up a flight of stairs?
