Tom Hiddleston will be the final presenter of the evening at the Emmys

wenn22986692

I didn’t realize until this very moment that Tom Hiddleston was executive producer on The Night Manager. Well done, Tom. I thought the miniseries was overhyped – it was good but not “the best thing ever” – but it looked rich and it was a well-executed miniseries. So now I’m a little bit more impressed with Lord Dragonfly: Executive Producer. Anyway, I learned this information when I looked at the official Emmys site, which released a lot of new info about this year’s Emmys, the pre-show and the Emmy presenters. Guess who is the final presenter of the night? Yes, Senor Dragonfly himself. How special!

The 68th Emmy Awards executive producer Don Mischer announced the final awards presenter for this year’s telecast: Tom Hiddleston, two-time Emmy nominee for The Night Manager – Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, and Outstanding Limited Series in his Executive Producer role. In addition, Mischer announced that Henry Winkler will introduce this year’s In Memoriam segment of the telecast with a celebratory remembrance of Garry Marshall. Vocal sensation Tori Kelly, one of this year’s Grammy nominees as Best New Artist, will perform during the In Memoriam.

[From Emmys]

The Emmys generally have more fun with presenters. It’s not like the Oscars, where being named as a presenter is some huge deal that can make or break your career. At the Oscars, the later the presenter, the bigger the name. They try to get the biggest “gets” to present for the final awards. If Tom Hiddleston is the biggest “get” for the Emmys… well, that’s a little bit strange. Maybe it’s more about the fact that the Emmy producers are happy that a more traditional “movie star” is slumming it with, as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler say, the rat-faced people of television.

Other presenters for this year’s Emmys: Kyle Chandler, Bryan Cranston, Claire Dance, Michelle Dockery (yay, make her co-present with Hiddles!), Minnie Driver, Tony Goldwyn, Terrence Howard (boo), Allison Janney (yay!), Rami Malek, Kiefer Sutherland, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and more. I honestly have no idea if Idris Elba and Benedict Cumberbatch are scheduled to attend, but they’re both nominated. I would think that… if they were coming, producers would have asked them to present, right? So that doesn’t bode well for those of us who were actually hoping to see some blokes-other-than-Hiddles at the Emmys.

Last award of the night is usually Best Drama, which is also considered the most important award of the evening. It would be fun to see Michelle present it with him but her show is nominated so probably not.

We are prepping the veranda and the meadow and Dara’s Conspiracy Gazebo for the big evening. Formal wear is encouraged.

    • SilverUnicorn says:

Ouch no, I threw away my last ball gown ages ago. Are you accepting any guests wearing informal wear?
It’s sunny and warm here today, I’m quite thirsty! Don’t want to miss the party under the veranda 😉

      • lilacflowers says:

Formal wear is encouraged but not required. You can wear your bathing suit if you wish.

      • SilverUnicorn says:

yayyyyy!! I’ll be soon there wearing a long, flowery and sleeveless dress 🙂

Have the conspirators arrived yet? 😀

    • Dlo says:

You take such good care of us @lilacflowers

  2. Mia4S says:

@Kaiser I hate to be a killjoy but I’m 99% certain he’s the final announcement, not the final presenter. They don’t announce who presents the last award, it will be a rumour (and a bigger star). He will be somewhere in the middle with the rest of the B list.

    • Kaiser says:

I’m just going with the official Emmys wording. They say he’s the “final presenter.” I take them at their word.

      • Jenna says:

But can’t it be read two ways? “The final awards presenter for this year’s telecast” could be both, “he’s the last one to be announced”, as well as (if you really want to read into it), “presenter of the final award of the telecast”. But it’s highly unusual to specify in advance which categories are being presented by which actor.

And as pushy as his publicists are, I don’t believe they could strong-arm the Emmys into giving him that spot. He’s a nobody compared to many of the other announced presenters.

      • lilacflowers says:

@Jenna, the show is on ABC. He is currently working on a Marvel film. Marvel/Disney/ABC. Loki is presenting the major award of the evening while simultaneously promoting a Marvel/Disney/ABC product on a Marvel/Disney/ABC network.

      • Bonzo says:

I would be surprised if a relative no-name like Hiddles is presenting the biggest award of the night. I read “the final awards presenter for this year’s telecast” as the “last presenter we are announcing prior to the telecast”. They gave an initial list earlier in the day that did not include Tom and then went back later and amended the list, noting who they were adding.

But, I guess we’ll see on Sunday, won’t we??

      • Dara says:

That’s how I read it too. Doesn’t mean he’s not presenting Best Drama though, but @Mia4S is right, they generally don’t announce who is presenting which award, especially the biggest award of the night. Don’t the Emmy’s keep the final presenter off the list, the way the Oscars do? Then again he did present Best Whatever at that country music thing in LV – and his link to the country music world was more tenuous than the acting world.

All of that to say I’m firmly undecided about whether he’s presenting Best Drama or not.

    • lilacflowers says:

And what would the final announcement be? That the show is over? That’s Kimmel’s job.

    • Bonzo says:

In prior years, Tracy Morgan, Halle Berry, Will Ferrell & Julianne Moore were presenters of the Best Drama award — Two established TV stars and two established movie stars. I don’t see Tom getting that slot because of Loki, but it’s possible Marvel/Disney/ABC could have strong-armed the Academy into putting him in to that slot. Point is, it’s not normal for someone as little known like Tom (outside of his tabloid headlines this summer) to be presenting such a prestigious award.

Then again, we don’t tend to even remember who presents the awards unless they do/say something memorable that gets headlines in the news afterwards. People will be focused on the envelope, not him.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Actually, the network hosting gets a lot of leeway in promoting its own products during the broadcast. That’s why they rotate each year. Every interview will mention that he flew in from Thor. AMC and Marvel probably split the cost. And other than looking at their clothes and potential gaffes, nobody remembers the presenters. I just want to see Gwen Christie give him a bone crushing hug when GOT wins

    • Matador says:

“Executive producer Don Mischer also revealed that acting and producing nominee Tom Hiddleston (“The Night Manager”) will present Best Drama Series, the final award of the evening but wouldn’t say who would dole out the equivalent comedy award.”

      That’s according to Gold Derby.

      • Dara says:

Or did Gold Derby just infer he was presenting Best Drama based on the same confusingly worded press release and run with it? None of the other industry publications that cover the Emmy’s in-depth – Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter – have said anything about it.

      • Mia4S says:

And Lainey just posted a story noting that it really doesn’t make any sense (and she has the same interpretation of the announcement that I do), there are much bigger names there.

      • Matador says:

If he’s the final presenter of the evening, he is handing out Best Drama. The night ends with that award (and a brief goodbye from the host). Not sure why people are having trouble with this.

      • lilacflowers says:

@Matador, Tis a mystery wrapped in an enigma. And it isn’t as if anybody ever remembers who presented which award or that presenting any particular award bestows any prestige on the presenter.

  3. iralagi says:

That summer fling with Taylor Swift pays off.

    • Spidey says:

Yes, I was wondering what had happened to Tom’s ruined career.

      • Fa says:

In term of gossips or presenting awards he profit from summer fling but I’m not sure in term of movie career that summer fling (t-shirt) help his careers that much

      • MI6 says:

        Seriously. It’s such a shame
        😏

      • Starkiller says:

I’m no Hiddleston fan, but come on. Tom’s never worked on a single American project other than that Marvel crap. He could not care less if anyone in the US has ever even heard his name. That is clearly not the career he desires. Coupled with the fact that Swift has no name recognition outside of the US, the notion that his career is ruined is frankly absurd.

      • Dara says:

@Starkiller, maybe not working on American projects was out of his control? I get the impression he very much wants a big, flashy, American career, but he can’t work on something until he gets offered the part. I think that is what the Hiddleswift sideshow was partly about – increasing his profile in the states. And he does have a few American projects on his resume – Crimson Peak, ISTL, and the upcoming Monkey Movie. The first two didn’t pay off like everyone hoped, and if the third doesn’t hit a homerun, he may not get another shot as leading man in a big studio blockbuster.

Personally, I’d rather see him have a career like Alan Rickman or Colin Firth than Tom Cruise or Will Smith, but I don’t really get a vote.

    • SilverUnicorn says:

      @iralagi
I’m usually in the TH’s snark-camp but may I suggest you check the production dates of The Night Manager before saying that?
You’ll see it has nothing to do with Swifty…..

      • Naya says:

I’m pretty sure he isnt getting the most prestigous presenting slot of the evening over a miniseries that was only moderately successful in the US. Especially not when the much more successful and respected Brian Cranston is presenting a smaller award.

      • SilverUnicorn says:

        @Naya
Considering he was at the Met Gala a few months ago (with no reason to be there at all), I’d say you’re underestimating Tom’s connections in the entertainment world….
I don’t see Kim Kardashian presenting, despite the fact she’s everywhere…
I’ve never seen anything with Cranston in it and I would not know who he is if not for CB, while I have known who Tom is for the last 4 years…..

      • Bonzo says:

I don’t think the Met Gala is a good indication of connections. Tom is a theatre dude and Anna is a huge supporter of British theatre. When folks like Elizabeth Debicki (2016) and Elizabeth Olsen (2014) score invites, it’s seems that being a big name isn’t required to go.

      • lilacflowers says:

@Naya, you’re pretty sure that he isn’t getting that slot because of TNM but you’re pretty sure it would be due to dating Taylor Swift? Seriously?

      • lilacflowers says:

@SilverUnicorn, Bryan Cranston is a great actor. He did comedy for years, starring in Malcolm in the Middle, then won multiple Emmys for drama in Breaking Bad. He is nominated for his portrayal of LBJ, whom he originally portrayed on stage in a fantastic performance that earned him a Tony award. He was Oscar nominated last year for Trumbo.

      • Naya says:

@LilacFlowers Lmao. You cant help it, can you. Its obviously the increased exposure. Same reason why Kendall Jenner and the Hadids score more high profile gigs like Vogue, than more deserving models. Award shows have to address declining ratings and draw in younger demos but at the same time retain some kind of dignity. The deluded organisers believe that Toms increased profile will do both i.e draw disinterested millenials who like to hashtag Taylors dramas while maintaining some of the Rada dignity. Tom has been aggressive about scoring stuff like this for awhile, Taylor allows that ambition to succceed.

      • Phoebe says:

@SilverUnicorn- clear your plans for the weekend, get comfortable on your couch and binge watch all of Breaking Bad- one of the best shows ever made! Trust me. Bryan Cranston is a national treasure.

      • iralagi says:

@silverunicorn I’ve watched The Night Manager before his emmy nomination and I know it was filmed in 2015. Agree with what Naya said in this thread.
And I think everything with Tom’s being more recognised in general public after this summer is the result of hiddleswift.

      • SilverUnicorn says:

        @Naya @iralagi
With all due respect, you’re exaggerating the whole thing. Even as a long-term snarker of Tom, it’s a stretch or a downright conspiracy to say what you say in your comments. I would eat my hat, my purse and my shoes if TH is only there because he was involved with Swifty. Pls provide evidence of your claims, given that you’re so sure…….

        @lilacflowers
I had heard of that TV show but I’m afraid it never aired in my country or if it did I didn’t pay attention. I recall to have seen a few episodes whilst in USA but in no way I remembered Cranston was in it. The first time in my life I had heard him mentioned was Trumbo but I didn’t see the movie.

      • SilverUnicorn says:

        @phoebe

It seems I need to do a lot of catching up in terms of TV shows!! I must start, given that the overall quality of movies has sharply declined in the last decade I need to pay more attention to what TV offers.
Breaking Bad – noted! Thanks 🙂

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Naya, sure. It is all about Taylor’s demographics, of course. Between tweens stay up to watch the Emmys. The fact that ABC/Disney/Marvel have a movie to promote that he is in would have nothing to do with it, despite the fact that ABC/Disney/Marvel ALWAYS cross-promotes. And remember when you said the Taylor thing would damage him because nobody would take him seriously but now you say it is getting him better presenter slots at award shows? Which is it? And remember when you said he would be posting pictures of Taylor on Instagram?

No, I cannot help myself when it comes to facts.

      • Naya says:

Girl, you are quarelling with so many people on Toms posts you have us mixed up. I dont care about his instagram. For future reference, I am one of those who thinks he lacks the effortless masculinity that Bond needs and Barbara is no fool to follow Daniel Craig with this guy. He was never going to get that job. I also think that he was too ambitious to accept that plain fact and he waged a PR campaign even pre-Taylor to get his name into the discussion. I think when their whitebread dance tape went viral, two natural famewhores got to thinking. I am on the fence over whether or not there was an explicit conversation between them or even an actual attraction. There were definitely a few conversations between their PR handlers though. Sitting by restaurant windows, kissing right at the edge of a rooftop, the rocks, all of it, obvious staging was obvious. Whats he gained? A higher profile that allows him to send his handlers to campaign for gigs such as the above and win. We know he wants this because he really is shamelessly whory and his tenous grip on leading roles is slipping after failing to deliver audiences twice in one year. Oh and Skull Island is on the way, that may well be his final shot at the big leagues.

What has he lost? Gravitas or whatever you call what Cumbie and Eddie have. The ability to put themselves up for serious work without snickers. He can try to rebuild it but the established narrative that Taylor dumped him for using her will be a footnote in every magazine profile written about his “serious” work. To paraphrase DJ khaled, he played himself. Presenting the bestest award at the Emmys fools the public into believing you are a force but it doesnt fool the people who actually count. Also, whatever you want to tell yourself, the people following Taylors drama do so not because they are teenie bopper fans but precisely because they are outside her demo. Have a look at her party hashtags, people in their late teens and twenties. On the websites, its people slightly older. It all adds up to a celebrity who currently has a lot of interest (however temporary) and is bound to stir up some attention with his attendance. The organisers probably think thats better than the alternative. So there. Now when you phrase your attacks, you’ll at least know who you are speaking to.

      • LambOfLoom says:

@Naya Where did Tom wage a campaign for Bond? Was that months during TNM production, when there was no word from Craig about not wanting to be Bond anymore; or was it on the now multiple times Tom has said he will most likely not get the part, AND reminded everybody Craig’s not officially out?

And “fool the people who actually count” that there are actors are out there, and trying to be noticed? They’re probably used to it, and don’t take it to heart as much as you do. Actually, they are most likely counting on it.

      • lilacflowers says:

Yawn. Benedict Bouncing Bennie Cumberbatch has about as much gravitas as the squirrel in my neighbor’s tree and you didn’t answer my question about your competing arguments.

      • Mildred Fierce says:

I hate to burst anyone’s “Taylor Swift’s tween Instagram fans made them do it” bubble, but I don’t think that much thought goes into Emmy presenters. No one even really cares/ remembers who the presenters are. They just get a celebrity who will show up, and, as we all know by now, Tom Hiddleston will ALWAYS show up for a camera.

      • lilacflowers says:

        @Mildred Fierce, you got it!

    • lilacflowers says:

Oh, does Taylor own ABC? Working for Marvel/Disney/ABC pays off. If they are going to let an actor fly from Australia to Los Angeles during filming for an award show at which he is nominated in two categories, they are going to put him to work during that award show to promote their products. Taylor Swift has nothing to do with any of it.

    • Clare says:

@SilverUnicorn you’ve never seen Malcolm in the Middle?!?!?!

And I agree with you – I’m not sure where this Tom was nobody before Taylor narrative comes from (from her publicist, possibly?) He was in more than one Marvel film and had a hugely successful (critically acclaimed) mini series BEFORE the MET Gala dancing happened. If anything I think the whole thing with Swift made him look like a chump and undermined his credibility. I for one used to quite like him and now think he’s a fame whore.

      • SilverUnicorn says:

I’ve never seen it, maybe it wasn’t even aired in my country if it was produced ages ago. I remember to see some episodes when I was living in USA but no idea about the actors in it, sorry.

I also agree that he’s a fame ho and thirsty as hell but credit is due where it is due, his acting chops and his rise to more prominent roles have nothing to do with Swifty and I won’t go around saying any differently, regardless of the fact I don’t have a crush on him anymore.
His theatre work is also excellent. I hope he can backtrack on some of the so-very-public damage he did when he was with Swifty.

      • Clare says:

Ah sorry – for some reason I thought you were UK based, and reruns are on allllllllllllll the time so I assumed you’d have seen it. My bad. I’m kinda grossed out by him now too, although I used to quite like him!

      • SilverUnicorn says:

        @Clare
I’m UK based indeed but I have not seen re-runs. I am not British born though, so if it’s an old TV show I surely missed it!

  4. Sixer says:

I love Henry Winkler. He got an OBE for the number of times he has come over here to advocate for dyslexia awareness.

    That is all.

    • lilacflowers says:

He attended Emerson here in Boston and always promotes the school and always supports the students and other alums, gives master classes whenever he is in town, and contributes a great deal. He always comes off as a great guy.

      • Sixer says:

Every time I’ve seen him on a trip here, it’s always been to do with dyslexia awareness. And yes, he just seems so calm and kind and lovely, and always finding something to share laughter about.

Here he is in Bradford, a few years back:

        http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/videoandpictures/videonews/113291/read/

(I am big on this stuff because I had to learn how to edit books aimed at dyslexic children!)

      • lilacflowers says:

And he plugs Emerson in that video!

      • Bonzo says:

Sixer, I’ve never heard of books for dyslexic people. How are they different?

The Fonz was my first crush. I never missed an episode of Happy Days because of him.

      • Sixer says:

        Bonzo

Well, there are technical things for the book production itself. Illustrations need to be plentiful. You should use non-reflective paper, slightly bigger line-spacing and certain fonts are no go (eg sans serif fonts are better).

Then, when you’re writing for dyslexic children, there is a tension between age-appropriate content and the reading age. Don’t fall into the trap of writing a story that is babyish for its target age. Also, obviously a tension between writing for the reading age and stretching vocabulary. You also don’t want lengthy descriptive passages in a story aimed to appeal to young dyslexic readers. Style shouldn’t be dense – which doesn’t mean, as above, style should be dumbed down: it means it should be pacy and avoid endless clausing within sentences.

I went on and on. Sorry! You did ask!

      • Bonzo says:

Don’t apologize. I wanted to educate myself. I don’t know anyone close to me that is dyslexic, so I was curious.

Talking about long, descriptive passages… I always skipped those in the Little House series — the only ones I enjoyed as a kid — and to this day my eyes glaze over those parts of novels to get to the action!

I see my autistic son doing the same thing with his literature books. We both suffered through Misty of Chincoteague as we read it together this summer. He’s much more engaged with 13 Story Treehouse, Captain underpants and the Weird School Daze series!

      • Sixer says:

I know next to nothing about the autism spectrum really – in a personal pr professional sense, that is. But I would be willing to bet some of the considerations would be similar.

        It’s common sense, really.

People read for pleasure, including children. But reading for pleasure also has an enhanced purpose for children in expanding horizons (as well as vocab and the like). But you don’t read for pleasure if it’s hard, hard work.

Also, good writing has balances – between descriptive passages, action, dialogue, internal points of view, etc etc. This means the reading of it is a pleasure and not hard work.

It’s just that a good balance in writing for the neurotypical isn’t necessarily a good balance for a dyslexic child or (presumably, but I only have actual professional knowledge of writing for dyslexia) other non-neurotypical ways of being.

The main thing is that you must never dumb it down. A dyslexic child is as capable of being challenged or stretched by theme and content as any other child. It’s only technical issues that trip them up.

      • Bonzo says:

And on another note, did you see that Trapped is coming back for another season??!! I’m doing my happy dance over here.

      • Sixer says:

I KNOW! I loved that show.

  5. Neelyo says:

Is he a big star? I don’t think of him as one outside of this site so I’m just curious because honestly I’ve never seen him in anything. Besides that Hank Williams biopic has he ever carried a film that was successful? I don’t go to the movies that often so I could have missed it.

    • iralagi says:

Thor and Avengers as Loki and he was very excellent in both movies. I dont think he is a big star, but if email leaked from sony hack to be believed, he was consider as an A-list british actor by people in the industry.

  6. ReineDidon says:

I think he is a very good showman ! As we’ve seen from his performance this summer.

    • Dara says:

I thought his performance this summer was his least convincing to date.

      • Spidey says:

        Tee hee,

      • Bonzo says:

I thought his role as Taylor’s boy toy was on par with his Pine. Both were cringeworthy.

Oh lordy, I hope they don’t use the clip of him and Olivia at the restaurant that they usually use. That was one of the worst of his scenes, imo.

  7. Jess says:

Well, someone is benefitting from the summer with Swifty.

    • Cindy says:

      Go team TNM!

The Night Manager’s 40m views in China highlights growing drama opportunity.
      ….
Tom Hiddleston’s exposure in China via Marvel movies The Avengers and Thor was key for The Night Manager, as Maggie Xiong, international acquisitions executive for Youku, attests.
“The talent was one of the most attractive parts,” she says, going on to also highlight the series’ subjects of “secret agents, adventure and heroism” and its bingeability (6 x 60) as other key incentives. The show, which screened with Chinese subtitles, only saw minor cuts to its sex and action scenes.

      • Spidey says:

You mean they didn’t get to see his pert derrière. 🙂

      • lilacflowers says:

@Spidey, US viewers didn’t get to see it either when Episode 4 was first broadcast but because there were so many complaints about missing it, AMC reinserted it for later broadcasts. The BluRay/DVD edition comes in cut or uncut versions.

  8. Izzy says:

    Take THAT, Snake Emoji! 😂

  9. browniecakes says:

We’ll just have to watch the Emmys and see. Finally the start of the new TV season in the US. I hope Jaimie Alexander is included in Thor Ragnarok. Looks like she’s working hard on Blindspot in NY which started season 2 last night.

  10. Westiesheepie says:

He is presenting the final award -Best Drama the most important award of the evening. It is confirmed on the official Emmy program guide. People ridicule him here. But he is very well liked and respected in the industry.

  11. Chef Grace says:

He is presenting Best Drama Series. Last one of the night.
    Tiddlesshagging Showmance has paid off.
Now if only he could be introduced by a BUILD a BEAR riding a Skittle farting unicorn I would be a happy fan again. 🙂

  12. Sheila says:

Chef Grace, oh no you’ve done it now! Just as Lilac flowers had Colin fanning Sixer while serving her a cold beverage on the veranda you have to stir up the fevered Build a Bear dream 🐻. Wonder who will wear the most fabulous swan shoes at the veranda party??

    • Chef Grace says:

I stirred the pot because we are OWED..LOL
His presenting in a suit with his loooooong legs is acceptable too but still, ya know? 🙂
Sixer should get those shoes…I get a large drink in a unicorn flute, with Skittles floating atop it all.

      • Sheila says:

True, Tiddleswift oversold and underdelivered! I might have to watch this awards show if the veranda will be open and the group posting! I’m sure some presenter is going to mention the greatest summer romance evah!

    • Sixer says:

You’ve piqued my attention with the Skittle-farting unicorn. I want one of those!

  13. Verdant33 says:

Thats great. Sooooo happy for him!
And for anyone suggesting he got this slot because of Swift..I don’t know what to tell ya except that your just silly.
Toms worked with great directors, had a successful miniseries where he was the lead and producer, and is coming up in that business. This was all before Swift and I’m sure will continue after.

  14. guest says:

who hasn’t clicked a single swifty post since tiddlesplit?
    *raises both hands*

  15. FW says:

so it finally paid off…bringing the whole family into the TayTo spotlight;)

  16. Guesto says:

LOLing at the indignant denials that the TayTo antics played no part in Tom’s higher profile!

  17. guest says:

oooh just found out on toms’s IMDB
    http://movieweb.com/thor-4-ragnarok-director-taika-waititi-marvel/
thor 4 might happen, if Loki is in it I will jump back in.
    😀

    1/ “He’s not going to win… he’s not going to win… ” *mantra-like* – because he doesn’t deserve to in his category.

2/ “He’s not going to turn up with Taylor… he’s not going to turn up with Taylor” *matra-like* – because I like the Internet intact and working. AND really who can take another go around the houses with that particular nonsense.

3/ “His presenting the Drama Award is not that big of a deal… his presenting the Drama Award is not that big of a deal” *mantra-like* – because it’s just crafty same corporation crossover promo as many have said above.

If 1 or 2 happen, I’ll be the one in the corner with the whisky; if both happen, I’ll drink Scotland’s distilleries dry.

He could win a pitty potty award.
If any of the above happen, excluding 3, I get Sheep Dip as drink of choice.

Mercifully, your liver will not be put at such great risk.

      • Dippit says:

Well we’ll see Lilac. Although it would be unfair to blame the stresses on my liver entirely on Tom/Hiddleswift. However, I was out walking yesterday, halfway up a bl**dy big hill, when an unbidden thought of the above possibilities hit me. It quite took away from my enjoyment of the scenery for a minute. I hate brain invasions when I’m out hillwalking.

Chef, I have the Sheep Dip on standby.

/Meant to be doing a mountain of baking for a coffee morning my sis is holding tomorrow; so if you see me hanging out here too much today – chase me away. The temptation to stay around CB instead of getting on can be too strong at times.

        Ready! Set! BAKE!

The Night Manager was incredibly good. The book was written by John le Carre, a famous spy novelist that has had many of his books made into movies. Both Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston were excellent in it. The show is worthy of all the praise it is getting.

Please don’t fight with the Swifties, ladies. They are delusional and irrationally devoted. It’s like a cult and they have seemingly all drunk the Kool Aid. Probably because they are mostly underage.
Oh, and lest you forget, TayTay is responsible for all Tom’s success going back to Wallander, don’t you know.
    😤
That said, I may actually watch the Emmys this year.
