Kanye West made sure to sing ‘Famous’ 3 times during his Nashville concert

By now, hopefully everyone has an inkling that Kanye West made that bitch famous, or so says Kanye West. Kanye dropped his song “Famous” in the middle of his Yeezy fashion show, a show which also served as an album drop (not to mention mic drop) for his album The Life of Pablo. In the months that followed, Kanye and Taylor Swift reignited their feud because of the lyric “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.” Taylor said she never got a heads up about the lyric “that bitch.” Kim Kardashian released audio of Taylor agreeing to the other lyrics in that line and telling Kanye togo with whatever line you think is better” and that “it doesn’t matter to me. There’s not like one that hurts my feelings and one that doesn’t.” This led to arguably the BEST part of this summer’s gossip cycle.

Kanye is currently on The Life of Pablo Tour. And Kanye has fans all over the place, even in Taylor’s adopted hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. So during his Nashville concert, of course he performed “Famous.” And the crowd was really feeling it!

The bad blood just keeps on flowing! Kanye West is refusing to let the dust settle on his feud with Taylor Swift, and this time he dissed her in her hometown of Nashville. During a show at the Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, September 24, he performed his track “Famous” three times, and even had the crowd chanting “f—k Taylor Swift” back to him.

The outspoken rapper delivered the controversial line; “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous,” before throwing more shade her way.

“I need to hear that loud in Nashville” he yelled. “So many people told me, ‘You’ve got to take that line out of the song. You got to play it safe, but this is what rap music is. This is what art is. Saying how you feel. And this song is how I feel.”

[From Us Weekly]

So petty. But I also feel like… he’s earned it. He’s earned his right to be petty after all of the BS Tay-Tay put him through this year. After all, he’s just singing his song in the middle of his tour and making sure everybody gets what he’s saying.

Here’s some video – obviously, NSFW for language, but what’s amazing here is that the crowd is really into it. It just reminds me of the rumors I’ve heard about Nashville people maybe not being so happy that Taylor Swift has a home in their city?

“So petty. But I also feel like… he’s earned it. He’s earned his right to be petty after all of the BS Tay-Tay put him through this year.”

Yup a 36 year old married who is obsessed with another woman can be petty. Gotcha.

    • INeedANap says:

I am no fan of Swifty and her underhanded ways but I am REALLY not a fan of Kanye. His fashion is an insult to the word, his insistence on dressing his wife like a Real Doll is gross, and his obsession with other women is sad. He makes good music but so do a lot of people.

      Team North, I guess?

      • Val says:

Between Taylor and Kanye, I’m picking Taylor. Sorry, I also hate Kanye, he is a complete douche and his lyrics, fashion, and attitude are being awful.
I cannot stand this overblown pufferfish.

    • AbrarAk says:

He’s actually 39 year old AKA almost 40. What a douchebag.

    • Elisa the I. says:

      THIS!

    • Erinn says:

Yeah, I don’t think it’s fair to complain about one person being petty and then say someone else earned it.

But I’m also not surprised he did it. He’s the kind of person who can be winning and still need to continue on to the point where it reflects badly.

    • Anna says:

I dislike Kanye for his treatment of black women in his older music but I have to agree with him a bit on this part, like it IS rap and this type of feud is a part of it

    • Tifygodess24 says:

Right? What nonsense. And if you consider a heavily edited tape swayed in their favor “receipts” than sure you’ll love Kanye continuing this on too. I’m no fan of Taylor but no where on that tape does it say the line I made that bitch famous. I would be pretty P*ssed off too if someone CONSTANTLY claimed all my hard work and success was because of them.

      • AnnaKist says:

I completely agree with you Tidygodess. That tape was craftily edited, and if they had any honesty about them, they’d have released the entire, unedited tape for those who were interested enough to view it. There’s a reason why they didn’t. And to virtually say he made TS famous, therefore he’s feeling she should have sex with him as some sort of recompense? West is beyond obnoxious.

    • huh says:

Make tha 39 year old man.

  2. grabbyhands says:

Sigh. Yes, we get it Kanye.

As much as I dislike TS, he’s milked this for as much as he can-time to move on.

On an unrelated note, Kim looks like she’s stuffed a parka down the back of her jeans-I cannot get over how disproportionate her Pinocchio ass is to the rest of her frame. Why is this sexy?

  3. Josefina says:

I find Kanye’s creepy and obssesive brand of mysogyny much worse than Taylor’s victim complex. Sorry about it.

Im not a Swift fan but Im definitely a West loather. Like, Im glad Taylor was exposed but Im not even mad at her for throwing Kanye under the bus? That was low from her, but after all the stunts Kanye has pulled in his career I have a hard time feeling sorry for him.

  4. HH says:

Oh well… She’s petty. He’s petty. Oddly enough, I think this is the only person she’s had to deal with that’s also petty in musical form, no? Except, Kanye isn’t doing not-so-blind item songs.

  5. swak says:

He may have earned it in the beginning but that ship has long sailed on. Time to move on Kim (as she mentioned it in her latest interview) and Kanye. Obviously other attempts (Kim constantly displaying her nipples) to stay in the spot light aren’t working.

  6. SamC says:

I don’t know about Nashville people not liking her around. Have friends in Hendersonville, just outside Nashville, where she grew up, and by their accounts she is very generous in the community, has supported local parks, music programs in schools, etc. Their teenage kids are all musicians and active in the local music scene so they’ve been around her a lot. Shows up and engages with people, very friendly.

    • amilu says:

Same. I’ve lived in middle TN all my life and grew up in Hendersonville (but waaaaaay before TS came to town), and I’ve always heard the same things.

I’m with the posters above: I’m not a Swift fan necessarily, but I outright can’t stand KW.

As for “So petty. But I also feel like… he’s earned it. He’s earned his right to be petty after all of the BS Tay-Tay put him through this year.” — He’s a grown-a$$ man. Grow up, grown-a$$ man.

  7. Betti says:

As much as he is a douche and as much as she deserves the shade, its time to let it go Kanye. She’s been exposed and you were cleared.

Its long been rumoured that the lovely folks in Nashville were glad to see the back of her to pop – she and her family were NOT well liked by the country community as they effed over a LOT of people there in their quest to make her famous. They allegedly screwed over a well known producer for millions who helped get her in the door; the story is that when they were due to sign a contract with him they switched and he lost money as he’d put money up front.

    • Kate says:

Well I’ve lived in Nashville since 1998, have clients in the music industry, and your post is the first time I ever heard that tale. She’s controlling and calculated, but what successful artist isn’t?

General public in Nashville loves Taylor. Hate to break it to all the haters. Does she have enemies? Sure. But she’s always been very generous to the people of Nashville.

  8. Sullivan says:

Nashvillians love their live music. Whatever genre(s) they’re into, the concerts are always interactive like that. I’m sure Taylor’s Nashville shows are like this, too.

  9. mellie says:

Hey, now…Nashville is a great town and there is way more to it then T Swift.

  10. Lisatorner says:

The idea of the whole crowd hyped up yelling “I made that bitch famous” 3 times none the less is uncomfortable to me because I get that it’s kanyes freedom of expression, but he is literally expressing ownership of someone else’s achievements and demeaning that person along with it. Getting the crowd to gleefully join in makes me queasy.
He is also justifying his Imma let you finish outburst by saying it led to swifts fame. He is saying because I drew attention to this person by doing something disrespectful and rude to them they have a better career so really everything I do is perfect and should never be questioned. All hail lord Kanye.

I used to be a big Kanye fan up to MBDTF I even loved 808s but since joining up with the Kardashians his music has become bland and watered down, I can’t get into it. and any message or positivity or change he is attempting to communicate especially for young blacks in this country is contradicted by his choice to align himself with the most superficial narcissistic people and do nothing to support any cause except his fashion line which he sells back to the struggling community at 3k per ripped sweatshirt.

  11. MI6 says:

I love his petty, genius ass more all the time and I’m not sorry.
How is this any different from what she does to her exes, or Katy Perry, or Camilla Belle…
    The list goes on.
Please. The double standard works both ways.

    • OhDear says:

+1 At least he’s up front with his petty.

    • QQ says:

There it is, my cosignable comment, also every review I see/hear makes me want to see his tour live BAAADDDD! I hear folks just brimming with happiness and though the staging looks dumb to me I hear just raves about people that saw it

    • Terk says:

      “Genius”. LOL

      • cherrypie says:

And based on the pics im seeing on Lainey’s site, Taylor had to call on the entire Hollywood to deflect from Kanye’s performance in Nashville. Girl cant stand on her own which is a bit transparent. Her next album is gonna be epic. lol Everytime I start feeling sorry for her I just go back to her smug jug of a speech at the Grammy awards.

    • mar_time says:

I love him too MI6, he’s always been himself and his music and shows always hold up. I was having a bad day recently and some of his music came on shuffle and it hit the spot.

    • Babs says:

      Here with you MI6!

  12. Michelina says:

I’m conflicted on this one. On one hand, Taylor very much deserved getting called out, but on the other hand, Kanye needs to move on already.

  13. Piper says:

Wow, I’m surprised that everyone is so willing to embrace Kanye, just because they don’t like Taylor. Kanye is a masogynist, a narcissist, egomaniac. Yet, everyone now loves him because they think he’s putting Taylor on her place? SMH at all of the hypocrisy!

  14. Anoneemouse says:

His “art” gives me a headache. Sorry, but “art” is not putting down other people. His ego is so outrageous.

  15. Lilacflowers says:

He can’t let it go because he is obsessed with her and SHE made his misogynist ass famous outside his own musical genre and it kills his over-inflated, women-hating ego.

    • Juls says:

Thank you for FINALLY pointing this out. The whole fiasco benefited them BOTH. He can rightfully say he inadvertently made her more famous than she already was. But she also made him famous through no act of her own other than being the winner of an award while his drunk-ass disagreed with it. This catalyst in time, although initially detrimental to him, eventually led to his rise in fame as well. Smdh. This “event” in time essentially made them both more “famous” than they already were. Maybe she will write a sing titled “hypocrisy” and this sh** can finally come to an end. Please?

    • Jeanette says:

      Yes! This!

And why do people not acknowledge that these receipts are sketchy because they only tell part of the story? Not the part that she maintains is the important part? If it existed Kim would have posted it!

“Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?’” she wrote in the note. “It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world … While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard.”
Kim is famous for her “half truths” remember the “charity” clothing auction she was actually making most of the profits from??

      But keep being KLASSY. Kanye.

    • AnnaKist says:

Absolutely everything that lilacflowers, Juls and Jeanette said.

  16. Sasha says:

Somebody is working hard to stray relevant .
I’ve been enjoying Kardashian-less news cycle last few days.

  17. Dumbledork says:

Wasn’t she on stage collecting an award for her work when he supposedly “made her famous”? Does he forget that? Why is he constantly trying to put down and degrade other women? From Taylor to his exes, to his lyrics, to his models for his Hefty garbage bag clothing line, it’s bizarre that women who are so called feminists and preaching “equality for all”, support this guy. Taylor has her issues but if she had made naked wax statues of any younger guy, she would be crucified. Look at the age difference between him and Taylor. What’s his excuse?

    • AnnaKist says:

Excellent points, Dumbledork. He’s almost 40 and his missus almost 36, and yet they constantly carry on like a pair of utterly nasty adolescents, thinking they are being clever, genuine, edgy and artistic.

  18. me says:

He needs to grow the f*ck up.

  19. JESS82 says:

LOVE kanye! life of pablo is amazing and so excited to see him in concert!!

  20. terese says:

Nah…. Kanye earned this petty. Every bit. Also this is one of the best songs of the album and had she not made a douche out of herself she could have laughed it off or laughed at him through the song – but instead, she lied and made herself look like a snake and a joke.
