Donald Trump admits to sexually assaulting women in a tape from 2005

I can’t remember a time when everything exploded so spectacularly on a Friday evening. Like, important news stories and interesting celebrity stories sometimes break on a Friday, but what happened yesterday was something else entirely. Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold – who has been doing amazing reporting on Donald Trump’s sham foundation – broke the story and scooped everyone, including Access Hollywood, and it was Access Hollywood’s tape! The basic story is that in 2005, Donald Trump took a ride in Access Hollywood’s bus with Billy Bush. They were filming a bit ahead of Trump’s cameo appearance on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. It seems that Bush and Trump either forgot they were mic’d or they didn’t care, but their conversation in the bus was recorded and was released yesterday evening. The video is below. NSFW for language. Also: trigger warning.

At the beginning, the “her” Trump is referring to is Nancy O’Dell, who was married at the time. He says:

“I moved on her actually. You know she was down in Palm Beach, I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it…I did try and f–k her, she was married… Nancy, no this was, and I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’ I took her out, furniture, I moved on her like a bitch. But I couldn’t get there — and she was married. And all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony t-ts, she’s totally changed her look.”

Keep in mind that not only was O’Dell married, but Donald had just married Melania as well, and many believe this was recorded when Melania was pregnant with Barron. Also keep in mind that Trump tried to fire O’Dell two years later because A) she was pregnant and B) she did not succumb to his advances. After this part about Nancy O’Dell, both Bush and Trump see Days star Arianne Zucker, who is waiting to escort Trump to the set. This is where it goes from disgusting to absolutely deplorable.

Bush: “Your girl’s hot as s—, in the purple.”
Trump: “Whoa!” [laughing] “Whoa! I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
Unidentified voice, possibly Bush: “Whatever you want.”
Trump: “Grab them by the p-ssy. You can do anything.”

I actually gasped when I first saw this. Deplorable doesn’t even cover it. He’s making an admission of sexual assault. And what comes after this, with Billy Bush basically ordering Arianne Zucker to hug Trump after their conversation is just… disgusting. Appalling. This is the video evidence that rape culture exists.

Trump’s first defense was to offer a non-apology and blame Bill Clinton, because of course. Trump issued a statement saying: “This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.” Locker room banter = admitting to sexually assaulting women. Then when so many Republicans were turning on him last night, Trump released this video:

In the wake of all of this, a million things have happened. Billy Bush apologized (but he’ll likely keep his job with NBC). Paul Ryan disinvited Trump from a rally today in Wisconsin. Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell and more issued statements about how reprehensible these comments are, because I guess no one in the GOP had an issue with what Donald Trump has been saying for YEARS before now? Online and on TV, we’re finally having a national conversation about rape culture. I also think there’s a good chance that Trump will pull out of tomorrow’s debate, but as of right now, he’s still in.

There have actually been meetings between GOP higher-ups, allegedly about whether there’s some way to pull Trump from the ticket or “force” him to resign as the nominee or something. For now, he’s sticking with it. He told the WSJ just hours ago that there’s “zero chance I’ll quit…I never, ever give up.” He also disputes the widespread reports that staffers on his campaign are leaving and that his campaign is in free-fall: “The support I’m getting is unbelievable, because Hillary Clinton is a horribly flawed candidate.” When asked specifically about his admission of sexually assaulting women because he’s famous, he said: “People get it. They get life.” This WSJ piece is worth a read because… he’s not sorry at all.

We’re waaaaay past the point of “I still respect you no matter what your political views are,” or “it’s just my opinion.” A vote for Trump = a vote for a sexual predator. And if you’re voting Trump you can go f*ck yourself. The time for niceties has long passed.

    • V4Real says:

A to the f’cking Men Shambles

    • ktae87 says:

      This infinity

    • Melly says:

Totally agree. This isn’t an election about policies, this is an election about sane vs insane. Please let sanity win!!!

    • Kitten says:

Dude this morning I broke my self-imposed “no politics” rule and ignited a political shit storm on my FB by telling Trump-supporters to unfollow me.

I was trying to make the point that people need to stop invoking the term “women’s vote” when talking about this shit stain. As someone who grew up with two AMAZING male role models in my father and my big bro, I hold men to the same standard as women. I want absolutely NOTHING to do with any PERSON-male or female-who votes for this garbage human being.

      • Melly says:

Agree Kitten. The Trump tapes aren’t just offensive to women, they are offensive to all decent people regardless of gender. All decent people need to go vote, NO EXCUSES.

      • Shark Bait says:

My cousin and I called out my racist aunt. She posted some stupid meme saying “I’m more bothered by what Hillary has done than what Trump has said.” Her and my mom are out shopping now, I’m going to get an earful later. She hates Hillary so much that she can’t just admit what Trump said was wrong. She’s got to say but but but Hillary defended a child rapist, but Hillary stood by her sexual predator husband.

      • Kitten says:

How is this possible? It just blows my mind.
Someone on FB just shared Gingrich’s video saying that “trump may not be subtle…” And then went on to liken him to Andrew Jackson. Lol

Ok well Jackson owned hundreds of slaves so I guess there’s a parallel that can be drawn there-both care little about the welfare of brown folks. But Andrew Jackson had years and years of political experience in the Senate and House of Reps. Trump has literally ZERO. I’m just….dumbfounded that people who I thought were rational humans are outing themselves as Trump-supporters and with no shame. I just….can’t…

      • EM says:

Good for you @Shark Bait. It’s not his words that are the problem it’s his actions. He is admitting at minimum to groping and kissing women without their consent – not really “just about words” anymore. I’ve posted that ultimately if you continue to support this man you are endorsing and validating sexual assault by giving him your vote. Don’t like Hillary there are other candidates but to continue to endorse him without a doubt says everything I ever needed to know about you.

    • Kitten says:

      Amen, my friend.

I broke my self-imposed “no politics” rule on FB today and told everyone if they’re voting for Trump, please unfollow me. I was trying to make the point that we need to stop invoking the phrase “women’s vote” when talking about this shit stain. As someone who grew up with two amazing male role models in my brother and my dad, any person-female OR male- who endorses this garbage bag needs to be put on blast.

I am SO pumped for the debate. As some of you know, I’m a Sanders gal but holy shit I hope HRC EVISCERATES this scumbag. He already said he was going to bring up Billy’s infidelities. I only hope she brings up the 13 year old who accused Trump of rape,
Because I believe her. This man hates women, straight up, and I absolutely believe he is capable of raping a child.

      • Shark Bait says:

I still won’t post about politics on fb, but I have been commenting on people’s posts. I’m so over the “Well Trump is bad BUT HILLARY” people because A) they are still voting for Trump and B) they are so unintelligent and ignorant that they believe every alt right meme they see. She will eviscerate him in the debate, no doubt, and his idiot supporters will still say he won, and the Gary Johnson bros and Hillary haters will still say she is “just as bad.”

      • Kitten says:

Yes. People are so f*cking stupid. Lazy and stupid and…grrrr.

    • EM says:

Still supporting Trump says a lot more about you than him and I have absolutely no respect for those type of people. I’ve been posting like crazy this morning because his supporters have dug in and are going either #1 the deflection route (Bill was worse or Hillary was worse for condoning Bill or being mean to “his” other women) or #2 ‘boys will be boys’/he was joking/it was 10 years ago. Trump was always vial BUT now we know that he’s A-OK with sexual assault for the special few (i.e. him, his sons or friends).

      • Esmom says:

Yeah, Hillary was not wrong about his supporters being a basket of deplorables. Like Shambles said, if you still plan to vote for him, go eff yourself.

    • Tate says:

      Well said Shambles!! 👍🏻👍🏻

    • Carmen says:

I’ve let all my FB friends know that if any of them is voting for Trump, unfriend me immediately. I do not need trash cluttering up my friends page.

      • Masse says:

Well they probably don’t want to be friends with you anyway, considering your lack of respect for freedom of choice.

      • Ally8 says:

Yep, if there’s one thing American conservatives are known for it’s “respect for freedom of choice”. #sarcasm

      • Mieke1989 says:

All I can think is how is this news? If any other person on the planet has said it, sure. But The Donald? Why does a taped conversation mean more than all the other vomit coming from his tiny asslike mouth? He openly came on to his own daughter. He sexually assaulted his ex.

We laugh about the “funny” way of criticizing Donald Trump, but those jokes are only funny if you understand the man is a freak and that e live in a crazy world for this to be happening. To make his supporters understand what they are voting for, what not who, takes Republicans stating his wrong doings. So please let this be the point where even they wake up.

      • Flan says:

        @Masse: nice to see you’re pro-choice.

      • Kitten says:

@Carmen I did the EXACT same thing yesterday morning and started a shit storm on FB.

      • Carmen says:

Conservatives are pro-choice as long as it’s their choice.

      • Kitten says:

Ah shit sorry for the multiple posts. I’m posting from my phone and when I hit submit it disappears and doesn’t show. My comments weren’t there and now they’re here, but like 8 times.

I just wanted to say this is way past politics (as Shamby said) and in fact, take all the political affiliations out of it. This is about a terrible, awful human being that isn’t fit to scrub my toilet, much less become president of the country I love. I don’t care whether you vote for HRC. Vote Johnson or Stein if you don’t find Clinton appealing, but if you vote Trump I want NOTHING to do with you.

Also I too wanted to thank Kaiser. Like others, I was popping in here yesterday hoping my celebitchy a would be weighing in. For every poster that complains about the political posts here, there are ten of us who come here JUST for the excellent political coverage. Keep up the good work, C/B! Really looking forward to watching HRC eviscerate this chump tonight.

      • Shark Bait says:

My husband said his neighbor from down the street growing up, who was friends with his younger sister, is an absolute lunatic about Trump and hates Hillary. Posts all kind of alt right memes, has freaking Trump Train shirts. Basically spends all her time on facebook talking negative about Hillary. Because that’s all she can do, what positive is there to talk about Trump. Well she posted telling people to go to Hillary Clinton’s facebook page and see which of their friends like it and to defriend those people immediately. She proudly claimed that she had just done so and that luckily, there weren’t many she had to get rid of.
So it’s not just us awful liberals who do such things 😉

    • Otaku Fairy says:

This. I’ve been past the point of “I respect people’s choice to vote for whoever they want” for a while now when it comes to Trump, (I even know people with some conservative/religious beliefs on certain issues who still think he’s a dangerous, racist, sexist, xenophobic scumbag) but this just adds to that. Who people are voting for says something about their priorities and who they are now more than ever. I cannot take a Trump supporter seriously. It’s not really surprising to me though, as he’s been accused of sexual assault by more than one person now.

      • smd says:

Otaku, I agree. I strongly believe in freedom of choice. I have some friends and sadly even family members pro Trump. I have listened to their views, respectfully disagreed and tried to encourage open dialogue. I’ve gotten criticism, hate, derision, been called names, blocked, etc. I’m tired of extending an olive branch then being told thanks but screw you and your views. No, you can’t have it both ways! You will not rough ride over me like Trump has small businesses, minorities and women. His followers are bullies and I refuse to be any part of that. Feel free to unfollow me or block me. You staying a friend but deriding ever comment I make or like I hit is bullying. No more. No more!
Someone call Lila flowers and Sixer stat, I need the veranda open!

      • Melly says:

Trump supports scream “FREEDOM OF CHOICE” when defending Trump but chastise and troll people who make choices that differ from their own. They don’t acknowledge or listen to facts that don’t fit in to their predetermined “Trump is the best” narrative. They can excuse away anything Trump says or does. Most Hillary supporters can acknowledge her flaws and/or bad decisions she’s made in the past. No one argues that Hillary is perfect, but she is clearly the best and most qualified candidate we have to choose from. Most Trump supporters can’t acknowledge his flaws and make it impossible to have a real discussion about the issues. This is not an election about policies or issues, it’s an election for the soul of our country. It’s an election about the continuation of our democracy and our standing in the world. Please, everyone, VOTE. Make sure your friends and family votes. Drive people to the polls. Do whatever you can to ensure we don’t have to live in a Trump America. We have to send a message.

    • EM says:

Truly there are some really disgusting 60+ year old men out there. Giuliani was just interviewed and to paraphrase…. of course Trump isn’t dropping out; that’s desperation by Clinton. What this shows is that it’s the outsiders against the insiders and they want Trump out because more bullshit excuses. He looked so cocky and reacted like this recording is some trivial joke.

      • jwoolman says:

Giuliani’s daughter is openly and loudly voting for Hillary…. I wonder if Ivanka will also. She knows what her dad is like, and she also knows Hillary isn’t what The Deplorables think. Melania certainly will vote for Hillary, she doesn’t want Donald in the White House for other reasons.

Wouldn’t “The Deplorables” make a great name for a cartoon series or animated film?

      • Lucrezia says:

Every time I read it, “deplorables” makes me think of “The Expendables”( the shlocky “all-star” action flick from a few years back). There’s a handful of photoshops floating around of “The Deplorables”, with the original cast’s heads replaced by those of Trump and his supporters.

Once you’ve seen a tiny Trump head on Sylvester Stallone’s body, it’s hard to forget.

      • Melly says:

@jwoolman Don’t be so certain that Ivanka is a reasonable person. She is her father’s daughter. She may be pretty, but she is equally deplorable.

    • Jennifer Jones says:

      +infinity

    • Tiffany27 says:

Exactly! Any Trump supporters can F*CK RIGHT OFF!!!! He literally has offended EVERYONE outside of straight white men. America, we have our issues, but we are better than this. We are SO better than this.

And I don’t even give a f*ck. If you’re still a Trumpkin you need help. You need to seek out help. Or maybe seek out the police, because there’s a high probability you probably assaulted a person……. or a cat.

      • Annetommy says:

Totally agree Tiffany. It is absolutely extraordinary to hear women still saying they will vote for Trump. What on earth is wrong with these people that they will vote for someone who despises and denigrates women? Not to mention of course all the other groups he has similarly abused. Maybe they are giving the guy a break because the recorded remarks were made when he was an impressionable young guy of 59, so it could be put down as a youthful aberration.

  2. vava says:

Well look at it this way, Nixon said he’d never resign. My guess is if the Republican Party wants to survive this election somehow, they will need to get this guy out. Even his running mate isn’t supporting his actions……

    • Nic919 says:

He just tweeted that he won’t step down. And it’s too late anyway. The ballots are fixed in several states and can’t be changed now. Early voting has also commenced.

None of this should have been a surprise anyway so all the GOP being shocked and only now dropping support are a bunch of hypocrites. Reap what you have sown.

      • vava says:

You’re right. I didn’t think about the ballots being out already. And agreeing on your observations that these politicians (and their supporters) have indeed reaped what was sown.

    • Mike says:

This is the guy Trump has been all along. Not sure why people are surprised that a racist, sexist xenophobic, narcissist says things that are racist, misogynistic, and xenophobic.. He has been saying this stuff all along and the GOP has looked the other way. I am enjoying watching their chickens come home to roost. I think electing President Obama was the worst thing that could have ever happened to the GOP. They have been in self-destruct mode ever since, I love it

      • vava says:

        very true.
The video finally exposes it for the last of his supporters to see who they are dealing with. To think it took this long for some of these high-power Republicans (McCain, for example) to finally denounce this @ss…………….it’s a bit late politically. But still, there are people out there who will vote for him, my MIL included. As for Mrs. Trump, well if she’s OK being married to this jerk, then that is her problem.

      • Chrissy says:

Mike, this Canadian is really enjoying the implosion of the GOP too. What a complete load of self-serving hypocrites. These politicians should certainly be labelled as deplorable since they indirectly enabled the Trump sh*tshow by their inaction. Trump has been an a**hole since forever but they all refused to denounce him until now just so they can keep their own political heads above water. SO SICKENING! It’s insane that they view their party as more important that the well-being of the US. I hope Hillary skewers the Orange One tonight. He deserves no better. So looking forward to referring to Hillary as Madame President!

      • MC2 says:

This! And maybe now we will see through other guys or be able to call them out….the old adage of “he’s not that bad”- yes, he is. Racists & sexist statements are like a cockroach- when you see one, there are a 100 behind the walls. If dude shows you that he hates people, believe him and don’t doubt the intensity of said hate.

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

I don’t WANT Trump to resign, because as it is now he’s gonna lose. If Pence steps into the top spot (which is prob not possible now anyway since voting has begun in some places), imagine a President Pence — the Tea Party guy who believes a woman who will die without an emergency abortion should just lie there in the hospital and DIE!

      • nicole says:

This is a dream come true, Hillary has to win after this, it shows what a disgusting pig he is and also a coward to put the blame on someone else, this is t he best ever, Hillary all the way to the white house now!

      • Esmom says:

Yes, he’s their nominee. They don’t get to disavow him this late in the game, they have had chance after chance after chance. Sorry GOP.

      • Christin says:

One of the TV news talking heads claims that the party’s top brass considered dumping the orange mess after the Gold Star family insults, but didn’t. Apparently early September was the latest they could make it happen.

      • Little Darling says:

So with you Ladidahbaby! That thought kept running through my mind all night!

      • Naya says:

I gather early voting has began, its too late to ditch the cheeto and I thank the Gods for that. He is easier to beat than a square politician like Pence.

    • jwoolman says:

Nixon resigned rather than getting impeached. He wasn’t replaced by his Party.

But Trump, like it or not, was his Party’s choice. He won the primary. Granted, so many people were running that his actual percentage of the total vote was small. But that’s what happens if you don’t build in a runoff election (which might be doable with all the primary voting on the same day and mailed ballots rather than piggybacking on a general election). A lot of top Republicans have pledged their fealty to The Orange One. It doesn’t seem right to replace him just because he might not win. Somebody always loses. He’s what they wanted.

    • kanyekardashian says:

Pence is supporting Trumps’ words and actions by not having the spine or the ethics to drop out as VP altogether. It’s well known that Pence hates women as much as Trump does. He tried to put a woman named Purvi Patel in prison for 20 years for self-aborting. He’s as much of a scum as Trump is. If he had a backbone – or any respect at all for women – he would say, ‘I can’t support a sexual predator like Trump’ and gracefully bow out. But he never would. He’s a typical disgusting, misogynistic Rethuglican.

  3. Nancy says:

Ugh. WSJ is behind a paywall. Can you give us the highli–er, that is the lowlights of the piece?

    • Kaiser says:

I excerpted the most significant quotes, although he also references Melania and Ivanka as being “loyal” in a creepy way. Also, this:
      http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-10-08/republicans-wish-for-pence-led-ticket-as-trump-video-roils-race

      • Nancy says:

        Thank you. Kaiser.

I hadn’t read Melania’s quote. Does she accept his apology for the words he said, the actions he admitted to, or for trying to sleep with another woman while she was pregnant?

        I doubt we’ll get clarification.

      • Melly says:

I don’t believe Melania wrote the statement that was released. I think she has tuned out of the election completely. She didn’t sign up to be a politicians trophy wife, she signed up to be a billionaires trophy wife with no responsibilities. I’m sure Trump’s people wrote that statement and released it.

      • vava says:

Yes, Melly……….absolutely. Melania didn’t write that at all.

      • jwoolman says:

It’s just like Hillary’s situation with Bill – what Melania decides to do about her marriage is really her personal business and she doesn’t have to explain it to anyone. They share a child and that’s a complication.

      • lightpurple says:

Melania couldn’t have written it. Michelle Obama has never issued a statement in reaction to Barack saying disgusting things about assaulting other women while she was pregnant with his kid so Melania had nothing to plagiarize.

      • Giddy says:

@lightpurple, HA! That’s exactly what I said last night. Flotus has never had to issue a statement saying she did not support something her husband had said and done, so Melania didn’t have her to plagiarize. I imagine MT was having a bubble bath with Sir Xanax at the time her statement was written.

      • smd says:

Kaiser, thank you for opening the bar! Anyone who doesn’t think it’s important to vote let me share an eye opening experience. After the airing of his remarks and hopefully if your a concerned citizen you read the entire transcipt, it is horrifying. No it isn’t the word pu $$¥ I find scary, it’s the word GRAB, which means assault. Yesterday morning running errands and finally grocery shopping. 2 well dressed ladies in maybe their 50’s ahead of me in line discussing the ridiculous release of an “entertainmentioned tape from 11 years ago.” Here are their exact quotes: Ridiculous, liberal media trying to dig up dirt, just Locker room banter for a show, Dems are desperate and this just proves how scared they are of Trump, Bill has done much worse, Hillary lies and Benghazi, we knew Donald wasn’t a saint.” I was drop my jaw shut my mouth shocked, but at the same time not, just incredibly sad. I moved lines because I’m done trying to be nice, argue with crazy or have rational discussions with zealots. Got major side eye when I moved as it was to a much longer line. I can’t condone this on any human level. Please vote! This isnt the smoking gun to last straw, his followers are just getting more entrenched. The election results are the last straw.

      • kanyekardashian says:

@smd: I’m a huge second wave radical feminist, but I don’t put women up on a pedestal because so many are as bad as men. Any woman who supports Trump can never call herself a feminist and are just female chauvanist pigs like Trump. You were right to change lines.

  4. ElleBee says:

I once saw someone refer to him as ” Bigfoot in Drag” and the more I think about it the more it makes sense. There is no way that he is human. He doesn’t seemed to have been socialized properly/at all. I swear wolves (with rabies) raised him.
    #BigFootSmallHands

    • Nona says:

That is an insult to all wolves. But I get what you mean:)

      • ElleBee says:

@Nona -You’re right. Wolves are intelligent, social creatures that respect their own kind. I’m actually not sure what species this dimwitted nutcase belongs to.

The man is a radioactive lab creation for sure.

      • Nona says:

        Amen!

      • GingerCrunch says:

I used the “wolves” phrase a lot, but realized it was completely unfair to them. Unfortunately these traits are uniquely human, aren’t they?

      • bluhare says:

It’s an insult to Bigfoot too! 🙂

      • ElleBee says:

@bluhare You’re also right. I doubt Bigfoot is the misogynistic, racist like King Douche is.

      • wolfpup says:

Thank you! For sticking up for the wolves! – I’ve looked to them for better descriptions of loyalty and integrity, than humanities notion’s of heaven/hell or utopia’s – which are comical to me, and fun to compare… I’d rather be wild and alive on paradise.

      • Giddy says:

Don’t wolves mate for life? That just wouldn’t do for DT. I read somewhere that he recommended canning wives when they reach 35. That makes Melania the oldest wife out of 3. After he loses (please God, I’ll try to not ask for anything else this year) I figure he’all cut Melly loose. Of course he’all blame it all on her.

    • Itchyandweird says:

Lightpurple, do provide some proof for that.

What did it for all these GOP hacks is that THEIR wives and daughters are at risk. They build legislation around the idea that single women are lying sluts who invent fake rapes so they can have abortions, but Trump assaulted a MARRIED woman. Notice how all the comments were about WIVES and DAUGHTERS? Not neighbors or coworkers or managers or just workers or just….women. I guess single women are fair game. The only women they cared about were their own. Sexually assaulting their wives and daughters is bad, but…..this is a group of men who base their platform on the idea that womens’ rights should be controlled by white men who want women to be punished for sex by pregnancy….but think sexual assault by men is okay.

Then there’s the way he kept attacking the Central Park Five even though they had been factually exonerated. Why? Because he resented the idea of somebody ELSE getting first crack at a woman?

      • jwoolman says:

It’s so silly. They don’t have to replace him. Just follow the lead of braver Republicans and stop supporting him and withdraw any endorsements. So a crude idiot managed to win the primary and they’re stuck with him. A last ditch effort to win this election is crazy, they need to figure out how such a demagogue got elected and how to prevent it from happening again. They should just consider this election as hopefully a lost cause and look to 2024. If they repudiate Trump without discarding the primary results, admit he’s bad for the nation and that they sincerely hope people don’t vote for him, they will look much better. Besides, after four years of President Pence, they would be in even worse shape especially with women. Pence is so disliked in Indiana that Republicans are pretty much ignoring his existence in their campaigns. In the VP debate, Pence spent most of his time saying what a wonderful fellow Trump was and denying every true Trump quote that Kaine offered. How does that make him better than Trump? Pence just sat there and lied repeatedly. He looks calmer than Trump but he’s actually quite dangerous – he is committed to forcing his religious beliefs on the rest of us and destroying access to health care. He probably would be safer with the nuclear codes unless he decides it’s time to give the Second Coming and the Rapture a little push.

Hmm, maybe he wouldn’t be safer with those codes… Or with anything to do with the Middle East, since that is where the final conflict is supposed to begin. That’s why American fundamentalists are so supportive of Israel no matter what stupid thing their government does. They want Israel to exist only long enough to be the first destroyed according to prophecy. So they want Israel to stay surrounded by enemies and do not want progress toward better relations with their neighbors that would help prospects for Israel’s long-term survival.

He’s a disgusting pig and this election can’t end soon enough.

    • bettyrose says:

      X1000000000000000

This whole election cycle needs to be retired to a historical footnote. After Tic Tac released an official statement insisting that they respect women and don’t support Trump, I was just like, this can’t get any more absurd. It’s not even fun to laugh about.

      • jwoolman says:

The poor candymakers. First Mars (after Trump Jr’s poisoned Skittles in the bowl nonsense) had to point out that Skittles are candy, while immigrants are people. Now Tic Tac has been tainted …

    • Miss Jupitero says:

Please don’t insult pigs by comparing them to Trump. 🙂

I have no words for this disgusting shit stain. Robert De Niro came up with some great words though. Anyone see his video?

      • Chrissy says:

Yes, DeNiro’s statement was so great. Fantastic work from the articulate Mr. DeNiro. If I knew how tho provide the link, I would. Sorry.

      • Hazel says:

Yeah, loved the DeNiro statement. You can find the link on the BBC news app.

      • Kitten says:

Pigs are intelligent and sensitive creatures. Agree that hey don’t deserve the comparison but yes, I get the OP’s point.

  6. Jaded says:

As Don Cheadle so eloquently tweeted…”You truly are a POS….sorry, I misspelled… [perish] in a grease fire.”

  7. Christin says:

How much lower can the bar get? This is disgusting, but not surprising. It seems rather fitting that his party is now stuck with him.

I don’t see how buyer’s remorse can happen for his party when they already knew the person they were getting. They surely heard the ticking. It was just a matter of time before an even bigger explosion happened.

    • Esmom says:

As Andy Borowitz, I think, wrote, the bar is now at ground level. It officially cannot get any lower.

And you’re right, it’s too late for the GOP to suddenly have buyer’s remorse.

  8. Minx says:

All of this makes the Trump rape case suddenly all the more relevant. This man has no concept of consent coupled with a “no holds barred” sense of white male priviledge and entitlement. In other words, he’s a danger to women everywhere. He’s a menace.

    • Colette says:

I believe he raped his ex wife ,Ivana Trump, too.I know it’s only a rumor but I believe it.

      • EM says:

It wasn’t a rumor – she alleged it and then dropped the allegation. I believe it was around the time of the divorce but there are a lot of really smart readers on here that can clarify.

      • jwoolman says:

It’s not a rumor. She described the situation during the divorce. I think she was willing to soften it later for his political ambitions because she felt he was under unusual stress, maybe still feeling the effects of medication from some plastic surgery? It didn’t sound like a normal thing for him, though, at least with his wife. The anger he expressed at the time was probably normal (she had recommended the doctor), but he might have normally been, well, normal as far as sexual relations go. She said it felt like rape because it was so unusual for him.

      • MC2 says:

According to Ivana’s own sworn deposition, Trump flew into a rage, attacked her, held her down, began pulling hair out of her head and then forcibly penetrated her. She used the term rape before but softened it later to feeling sexually violated and that it wasn’t criminal rape…..she does not deny that the incident happened. It’s also reported that Ivana signed an agreement to never speak ill of Donald in the divorce settlement.

        http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/time-to-press-donald-on-raping-his-wife

      • Melly says:

That’s when Trump’s lawyer said that a husband can’t rape his wife. Same guy who, when confronted on CNN about Trump’s dropping polls, kept saying “said who?”

    • Goldie says:

It’s amazing how the media has been ignoring the rape allegations against Trump. So much focus on Clinton’s emails, but this has been swept under the rug. It’ll be interesting to see how things play out once the trial starts.

      • jwoolman says:

I was hoping it wasn’t true, but there are signs that it might be. A witness certainly strengthens the case as well as the conviction of the guy throwing the party. At the time, Ivanka was about the same age (13) and he already was acting a tad odd with her. He even said some very peculiar things about newborn Tiffany and her breasts to come…. The guy has been looking at his daughters sexually for a long time, which seems to be unusual according to reactions of men to such stories (he’s on tape saying them, so it’s not hearsay). He had said some unsettling things about 12 year old Paris Hilton. And at 17, Ivanka asked him to promise to not date anybody younger than her. All this is verified by video and audio recordings of Trump himself. It adds up to a guy sexually interested especially in girls just hitting puberty. Maybe he got out of that behavior pattern later, but at the time of the alleged rape of the 13 year old, that might have been a fantasy of his that he felt he could play out under those circumstances since he considered the girl to be a prostitute (the selling point was that she was a virgin). I remember reading about the 1700s in England – a popular theory was that a guy could get cured of some STD if he had intercourse with a young virgin. So the fantasy has been around quite a while with various excuses.

      • kanyekardashian says:

They can’t ignore it for long. A judge just set a hearing for the rape trial in December. The media will have to report on it then.

    • Hazel says:

Thank you for those links. I am now more horrified than ever. Vote for Hillary! And put this predator in front of a judge & jury.

  9. Colette says:

Trump is a misogynist.Women,(well beautiful, thin women) are just sexual objects including Melania and Ivanka. He doesn’t respect women.CNN’s Erin Burnett said he kissed one of her friends a few years ago.He thinks he can just take a Tic Tac and kiss any woman he wants to,he doesn’t need their permission or consent. That line in his half assed apology about how he has changed is laughable.Just last week he was talking about that beauty pageant winner gaining weight. If a woman is not f#ckable(Beautiful, not fat) she has no value in his eyes.

  10. SunnyD says:

I still can’t believe this election is even happening anymore.

    • vava says:

+1………………………soon it will be over. The backlash from the Trump supporters though, it won’t be pretty.

      • Chrissy says:

Vava, I really fear for the Clinton family if any of Trump’s gun-toting lunatic fringe decide to go after them as retribution. Kevlar for everyone, I guess. Jeez.

    • MC2 says:

NPR had a blurb about these guys in silicon valley that are wasting millions on the age old question of “is our reality just an alternative universe, project or matrix of another entity’s existence?” And it cued to a joke and hahahah- that is so silly! Of course this is ALL real!

Then it hit me- that might explain this shit because this.can.not.be.happening. I have never questioned my own reality- and what I think it’s happening around me & what I take for granted- more then in this f-ing election.

      • wolfpup says:

The way that I look at those kinds of theories, MC2, is like this: If I exist in other dimensions with alternate outcomes – then the mirror of my existence here has important consequences to all other dimensions. I could “ground” this theory of mine, and call the other dimensions, plants and animals.

As for existence, as a project of another…I cannot see existence with a God who would curse the earth, and all it’s inhabitants – etc. There are lots of God’s in “existence” on earth. I wouldn’t chose, that one. However, the idea of being a toy, or puppet for another, is a human fear, and religion exists to soothe. People trust their Shamans. Free will of it is demonstrated in our art, and here, on CB!

  11. virginfangirl says:

I guess it took hugely insulting half the population with his disgusting words to finally make some people realize how awful he is. When he was insulting smaller portions of our population with each insult, like Mexican’s, veterans, or individual woman, etc it just did not have enough impact for some. His remarks don’t even surprise me. Trump is not the one I’m most disappointed in, it’s those that have supported him that I am most disgusted with. It makes me realize how people like Hitler were able to rise to power. Scary. I hope this finally puts the nail in his coffin.

    • Melly says:

I’m skeptical that this is the nail in his coffin. He is able to say horrible sh!t and his supporters think it’s ok or somehow relatable. It’s sickening. The debate tomorrow should be very interesting.

    • Ninks says:

Yeah, now that he’s been offensive about beautiful, white women that’s the dealbreaker for the people who stood by him when he was offensive about Muslims/Mexicans/’fat’ women/immigrants/African Americans/Native Americans.

I’ve seen comments from Republicans who say won’t vote for Trump, but they won’t vote for Clinton either so they’re going to write in an alternative. Do those votes count? Is that an option, or are they just spoiling their ballot?

      • Melly says:

Their just spoiling their ballot. But don’t tell them that, just let them throw away their vote! The less people vote for Trump, the bigger HRC margin of victory will be. I want her to have a clear and strong mandate when she gets elected.

      • Tifzlan says:

“Yeah, now that he’s been offensive about beautiful, white women that’s the dealbreaker for the people who stood by him when he was offensive about Muslims/Mexicans/’fat’ women/immigrants/African Americans/Native Americans.”

        BING BING BING

*RuPaul voice* Ninks, you’re a winner, baby.

This is exactly why Mitt Romney and his ilk are so upset. Because he finally crossed the white line. All of them huffing and puffing about being repulsed by Trump – it’s all a show, guys.

      • I Choose Me says:

Nailed it Ninks. Tomorrow’s debate should be interesting.

      • Veronica says:

I was going to say – it’s that he was offensive to a WHITE portion of the population that’s the problem. He’s been pretty despicable toward minorities for a long time, well before this election was even a twinkle in his eye.

      • Sunsetsnow81 says:

That is my take on this whole situation. He could say what he wanted about blacks and immigrants, but insult beautiful white women and they turn against him. Shows me a lot about race and class relations in the U.S and frankly disgusts me.

      • Chrissy says:

        @Sunsetsnow81
I think it also says a lot about the stance of the Republican Party as a whole. This incident just shows how it doesn’t consider that all Americans are equal in their eyes. Some Americans seem more important or worthy of protections than others. SMDH

    • Tiffany :) says:

So true. People have been willing to overlook so much up to this point. Their rejection of him should have happened long before now.

We need to not take anything for granted. No one should assume that this means Hillary will win. A lot of people think this is no big deal. Voting even in solid “blue states” is important, because we need to send a clear message that this is unacceptable. Anything less than an electoral landslide for Hillary will be very harmful to our country.

      • Melly says:

I couldn’t possible agree more. We need to give Hillary a clear mandate. She need to win by a LARGE margin. We need to vote down ballet too! Don’t forget about the senate, house, and local offices!!!!!!! Come on America, we’re SO much better than this!!!

  12. adastraperaspera says:

I am hoping this finally gets reporters to expose Trump’s business of trafficking in young, often economically disadvantaged girls under the cloak of “modeling.” He learned from the best–the pedo John Casablancas, who was his good friend and biz associate for decades.

A Daily Beast story from July gives a look into this sordid world:
    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/07/19/donald-trump-used-model-parties-to-seal-deals-industry-sources-say.html

  13. LinaLamont says:

    Also, watch Ana Navarro’s response.

(Bush is a little POS, too.)

    • ElleBee says:

Ana Navarro deserves a medal. She really seems like a woman that has had enough of his BS

    • nicole says:

I love Ana Navarro, she isnt afraid to speak her mind, and she really gave it to Trump last night on CNN, bravo.

    • EM says:

Yes, Bush is a little POS but again not surprise. How any mother, aunt, sister, daughter can defend Trump the pervert is beyond the pale – by doing so they are validating his ideals and behavior. We know he is biased against women that don’t fit his ideals (those that aren’t young and with great bodies (defined by him)) and to him women are primarily sex toys.

      • jwoolman says:

One reason they can still support him is that his behavior isn’t really so unusual. Many women have had to deal with male coworkers, bosses, friends and acquaintances who pretty much feel nothing ventured, nothing gained and that women really like such talk and actions. Many women feel they have to pretend it’s ok for many reasons as they try to slide out of contact with the creeps. But times are changing and women are feeling more willing to speak up about how they really feel about it. But judging from discussions I’ve had with otherwise nice men, it’s a very hard barrier to break. They’re so sure that it’s normal behavior and that it’s worth a shot.

      • EM says:

@jwoolman – true I guess and then there are comments like the one posted on my local town blog (http://www.hackettstownlife.com/forum/763017#recent):
“Funny how we seem to forget how Hillary led the war room in discrediting women when they decided to speak up about Bill’s indiscretions. And let’s not forget how many millions of dollars she took from countries that routinely mistreat women. Yeah she’s aces when it comes to women rights unless you have a few bucks to throw her way or you get in the way of her political ambitions.” People actually believe this sh*t.

    • Melly says:

Everyone should read that article. Trump is such a… I don’t even have the words to adequately describe this loser.

    • Carmen says:

This man is either a filthy pervert or he is completely insane. Who lets anyone refer to their own flesh and blood like that? I don’t have a daughter, but I have a daughter in law, and if anyone prefers to her in my presence as a “piece of ass” they will get a size 8 1/2 ballet flat up their butt. She may not be my blood, but she is my family, and as such, she will damn well be respected.

    • Miss Jupitero says:

I would make road pizza out of anyone who used such words on my stepdaughters.

  16. Anna says:

Kaiser — I wanted to thank you for posting on a Saturday. I somehow knew you’d be here, and you were. I also think it’s commendable that this site is posting political stuff. I know our candidates are celebrities of a sort, but Pajiba has gotten some blowback for getting heavily into politics, and I thought you might too. It’s important, though, and topics like rape culture DO inform celebrity culture and affect our daily lives, so why shouldn’t it be here? After all, Cosmo’s been doing solid reporting this election. You’re keeping people informed who might not otherwise have seen certain news items or paid much attention. So thank you.

    • Kaiser says:

You’re welcome! The way I feel is that Trump isn’t just a political candidate, he’s a celebrity. He’s always been a celebrity, and we cover celebrities here. Beyond that, Celebitchy is a total baller who wants to make it clear that our official position on this site is that Trump is reprehensible, appalling, offensive and deplorable.

      • Louisa says:

I would also like to thank you for the title – referencing sexual assault. Not lewd comments. Not locker room banter. But actual sexual assault. So few outlets are saying that. I want to weep that there are still people defending and supporting this disgusting piece of human garbage.

      • Nibbi says:

I would like to second these thanks, Kaiser. I’m starting to feel like this fun site has taken on real substance and contributes to real & informed dialogue on some issues and i feel (a tad) less guilty about spending too much time reading celebrity gossip 😉 because sometimes i come across new opinions or details or things that had escaped me before about real things in the culture here.

      • Melly says:

Im here to also thank you. This election is so important and has blurred the line between celebrity and politics, so I think it fits nicely under the umbrella of this site. =) I enjoy the people and commentary provided here, where real discussions and information can be shared without the deplorable trolls.

      • nothingtoseehere says:

piling on with ditto and thanks. big time.

      • MC2 says:

Yes- thank you! For me, I do read the other sites and big news. I even went to Fox last night to see if they cared about this like any normal person would. But I was waiting to come here to see my peeps and how they are handling it. To get good, intelligent reporting (this is more thoughtful journalism then most articles on big sites) and feel like I am among peers. I am glad that I can come here, kick up my feet, feel comfortable and get a little respite from the insanity out there.

      • Lady D says:

Echoing thanks, Kaiser. I appreciate your election coverage, and the comments. There are times however, when I think this election is some cosmic joke and not really happening.

      • Giddy says:

Yes! Kudos and big thanks. Even my husband reads the political columns here. He says it is so refreshing and intelligent, especially after reading comments elsewhere.

      • JESS82 says:

agree and thank you! these comments often restore my faith in sanity and human decency during this insane election.

      • smd says:

Yes, of course! C’mon Mrs.BPitt, how many times during book clubs, shopping or cooking class have us ladies discussed walking up to a great looking guy and just grabbing him by the d÷@€? Especially if they are dressed in gym clothes, tight jeans, well cut suits and for me? Gucci slippers…I always ask every good looking guy I meet for a hug and kiss, wink wink!

  17. Lindy says:

Major points to you, Kaiser, for the post headline, which has been one of the few I’ve seen to call this what it is: an admission of sexual assault. Not just a lewd conversation, but actually, plainly, clearly an admission of sexual assault. I love CB. You guys are fantastic.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Yes to this! Even news sources calling it “groping” are being too generous. It is sexual assault, full stop.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed, I saw the headline and was like “yes!” Best one I’ve seen all day. The political threads here have become my favorites. Such a thoughtful and informed group.

  18. Lou says:

I hope he gets the lowest results of any Republican candidate. He is revolting, and I’m so glad people are finally seeing it.

    • EM says:

He won’t though – there are people actually outside his building cheering for him. Cheering, seriously? America is about as dysfunctional as you can possibly get.

  19. Tiffany says:

There are rumors popping up that Pence’s schedule is no longer on the website. Tried to look it up but the con artist will only allow you to move on if you donate money recurring.

  20. KiddVicious says:

I wonder how much of this the Republican party knew. They had to have vetted him pretty thoroughly and these rumors have been out for years. Did they know and just hope it never came out? If so, that’s pretty deplorable and they deserve him and all of the damage he’s causing to them.

    • Tiffany says:

My theory, they did not vet because they did not care. Between this and Palin, they only care about the veneer and not the cracks. They thought as long as they had the white vote, they can keep this trekking along. What they know is dying and are in denial or think it is a trend that will pass. Trump was their lifeline to what they were hanging on to.

    • Melly says:

By the time the GOP starting taking Trump seriously, it was too late. Trump was able to round up enough deplorable supporters to steamroll the republican party.

    • Veronica says:

I agree with Melly – I don’t think they vetted him because they never actually wanted him in the first place. Trump did to the Republican party what Sanders attempted to do with the Democratic party; he just happened to succeed because he tapped into a lot of fears about the changing cultural and economic power dynamics in America in the white middle and lower classes. They’re only forced to jump on the train now because it would otherwise mean alienating their own base and indirectly supporting the Democratic nominee. (My sympathy is limited, just for the record. A lot of people at the top of the RNC planted these seeds a long time ago in the name of “conservatism” and are just reaping what they sow.)

  21. nicole says:

I am just glad this has come out before it was too late, and that apology statement he posted is so ungenuine, he looks ticked of because he was made to apologise, he is a peice of scum who has no right to be anywhere near the whitehouse, I just hope this is the end for him.

  22. Tartine says:

Trump just came out of Trump Tower in NYC, gave an Evita wave to the crowd and went back in! CNN showed the video….it’s insane.

  23. Neelyo says:

So this is the bridge too far? There’s a special place in history for all of these craven opportunists in the republican leadership who let him get as far as he did and didn’t have the guts to shun him before. Cowards each and every one of them.

    • Nibbi says:

      This.

As if any of this was new to them. They’re all disgusting, cynical opportunists.

      • wolfpup says:

Opportunity seems to be the bottom line.

Last night, a poor Mexican who could not walk out on the job, was pounding out the underfloor that was dust full of black mold. He had no mask or gear. In my mind, white women CAN stand up to white men! It was so interesting, after I called bullshit – a bunch of men came to see the mess, because money is their bottom line, and I was accusing them. A mixed race man in charge came to ask, what was the name of the man I dismissed; Juan, or Pablo, making fun of Mexican names. I told him I didn’t know his name – only that he was young, and possibly a father. He told me that his g-grandfather and grandfather who had immigrated from the Philippines, had fought in WW1 and WW2 – therefore he was an American (with fancy boss clothes, I might add). Here was an immigrant being racist with newer immigrants (all brown skin tones – I am freckled so I belong to both white and brown, IMO) – not even caring about our delicate lung tissue. He declared that he was voting for D.T. I told him that I had lived in Korea 30 years ago, and that what I had learned was, whatever language, culture, race or economic status, all humans feel the same.

White women can stand up to white men – to their bullshit, and racist business practices that create slavery. Because we are human, we ARE on the same side! Hillary can stand up to patriarchy.

  24. some lady says:

Billy Bush is a fucking problem here, too. You hear all of this in person, don’t shut down the conversation, actually add to the bullshit, and escort him to a woman at work with no warning to her or any concern for her comfort or safety, then say nothing to anyone afterwords? Is this kind of behavior so common where he works that he just feeds into it with no thought? Complicit rape-ass Hollywood motherfucker. Hollywood will blackball people over the smallest shit and this kind of behavior gets no traction. Men don’t even register the most heinous sexism in their presence, and won’t even attempt to be feminist allies when it does. Christ, fuck Access Hollywood.

    • hannah89 says:

agreed. and to top it off, billy bush has three daughters, the eldest is 18 (old enough to vote this year, GOOD)

and has been married to the same woman since 1998

    • Ally8 says:

Billy Bush was in his thirties at the time and already had his three daughters. He should have known better every which way.

Also, both he and O’Dell were working with Trump on the Miss Universe pageant in 2004 and 2005, so the two were talking this way about an employee/coworker. After the Lochte debacle as well, plus NBC sitting on this tape (and others no doubt), the least they can do is can Billy Bush.

In addition to their weird Trump fealties (see also: Matt Lauer’s unbalanced interview with the candidates), both NBC and Mark Burnett must be terrified of the lawsuits that will come if the non-disclosure agreements can be taken apart and all the women subjected to Trump under their watch on The Apprentice get to sue. Twitter reminded me, btw, that Mark Burnett also produces Christian-themed movies, that noxious hypocrite.

    • MC2 says:

Yes to the “F- Billy Bush!” movement. I’ve known dudes that hang around psycho “alpha males” and enjoy the crumbs of their sh!tbaggery (made up word and it stays) but feel like their hands are clean. Nope- you are a wing man for rape & help these guys and get off on it you sicko. You are like them but without the gumption to look at your own perversions head on. I hate these complacent and willing partners to abusers. Every rapist in high school that I knew (barf- I knew a few) had a posse of guys around them that knew that they were rapists or abusers. Nate Parker’s friend and Billy Bush can go spend their time doing circle jerks with an occasional break for light wrestling and beer guzzling and leave.us.alone.

I need to go lower my blood pressure now.

    • Kitten says:

Yeah Bush is such a f*ckboy huh?

  25. adastraperaspera says:

There is a petition on change.org that demands NBC fire Billy Bush (who was 33 and married at the time of the video):

    https://www.change.org/p/don-nash-nbcuni-com-nbc-fire-billy-bush-for-his-sexist-deplorable-language-with-donald-trump

    • Anilehcim says:

And the father of THREE daughters also. I used to watch him on Access Hollywood with my beloved elderly aunt who loved celeb gossip (guess it’s genetic!) and I’m so UNsurprised that he engages in those kinds of conversations when the cameras aren’t rolling. Billy Bush is still such a frat boy… always going above and beyond to act like he’s a manly man and “one of the guys.” This is also why he defended Ryan Lochte… because he thinks men should get a pass for acting like absolute idiots and pigs and that they shouldn’t have to take responsibility for their actions. It’s really gross that he tried to claim “immaturity” as a defense as if he was 21 and not 33-years-old in that video. He had already been married for nearly a decade and was the father of 3 daughters.

Guys like Billy Bush are the reason Trump can’t win. They want to keep that old school, archaic BS “boy’s club” alive. This isn’t the Mad Men era anymore. Time to move on.

    • MC2 says:

      Thank you!!! Signed!

But I am most pissed that Billy Bush gave the idea for her to hug him after hearing that he was someone who likes to assault women and had his eye on her. I guess the petition and outrage just needs to focus on the convo and I am splitting hairs but I really think Billy would have put her at a known risk (to him) and not just “talking about stuff”.

      Anywho- F- Billy Bush!

      • adastraperaspera says:

Watching the tape, Billy Bush sure acted comfortable in that pushy, pervy role, didn’t he? And he can’t ever claim to have pandered to Trump to help his career or anything, because he has a cousin AND uncle who were presidents, fer cryinoutloud!! He’s in the Bush family! He would never need Trump’s help for a thing. Skeeving on women just seemed routine to him.

  26. Pyritedigger says:

I think Access Hollywood didn’t want to release the story because they don’t want to wade into politics. I don’t know the demographics for the show, but I’m guessing slightly older women in middle America that skew Republican. The show is complete fluff, they aren’t interest in alienating anyone.

I’ll bet good money someone from the show leaked it.

    • Colette says:

I wonder why the video wasn’t deleted years ago?

      • Tiffany says:

NBC owns Access Hollywood. The footage was literally just sitting there.

      • Pyritedigger says:

Someone in production at the time either kept it this long or at some point in the election, production went into the archives and found it.

    • Melly says:

The story is that Access Hollywood/NBC were “planning” on releasing the tapes on Monday, which I don’t buy. Someone from NBC/Access Hollywood sent the tapes to the Washington Post writer (whose name I can’t remember right now) and the Washington Post writer released the tapes yesterday. I’m betting the person from NBC/Access Hollywood also didn’t believe that the tape would actually be released so s/he leaked the tapes to the Washington Post to ensure that it would become public.

      • Tiffany says:

David Fahrenhold, who I think is in strong contention for a Pulitzer.

      • Melly says:

I agree Tiffany. He has been doing some really good work looking into Trump’s “foundation” and business dealings. All of his articles are always very well researched and incredibly interesting.

      • Ally8 says:

I don’t buy they were ever going to release them either.

    • Sam says:

I think NBC was just going to sit on it. Remember, in 2005, Trump had already completed 2-3 seasons of the Apprentice and was a major moneymaker for NBC; he went on to make multiple more seasons. If this had come out, at any point, it would have revealed that NBC was knowingly employing a man who opened discussed sexually assaulting women. How would that look for them? I genuinely believed they had no intention of ever releasing the tape, and an anti-Trump staffer probably leaked it.

    • The Other Katherine says:

My fantasy is that the whole Bush family has known about this footage for years, Billy had access to a copy, and Barbara Bush Sr. instructed him to get it leaked or face her wrath.

  27. Jayna says:

SNL is going to be glorious tonight if Alec is on as Trump.

    • hannah89 says:

Im curious how they’ll handle billy bush with trump in SNL if they even will since billy is part of the NBC today show team and of course snl is nbc’s crown jewel

    • Melly says:

I’m staying up late to watch SNL live instead of my usual watching it on Hulu on Sunday =)

  28. Tartine says:

Welcome to the season finale of America.

    • bettyrose says:

      LOL. I’m borrowing that.

His mouth looks like a freshly puckered asshole, and his frown reeks of insincerity.

Get this man OFF the national stage!

  30. DSA says:

My main concern is that many victims of sexual assault will feel defeated and lose their minds if he wins. They’d be living in 4 years of gas-lighting. How about that?

  31. Veronica says:

I could see “grab them by the p*ssy” to be a lewd turn of phrase about obtaining a woman sexually, but the kissing and groping part is pretty much an admission of sexual harassment and assault. Can’t say I’m shocked, though – what powerful, wealthy, white men can get away with in this country is endless.

  32. K.T says:

Trump is such a malignant narcissistic predator and Billy Bush is a frat boy enabler, but the big big issue is if the Dems can steer this titanic into getting back the Senate. Hillary looks good now and now that Republicans have somehow decided that “locker rapey talk” is not their orange hill to die on, GOP are scrambling to do anything get their tickets in the senate and money out of Trump campaign. Strap in peeps, this train is going to get (even more) supernova ugly.

I want a disgruntled technician of Trump-pimp-Mark-Burnett to leak the thousands of hours of Apprentice tapes showing further Trump sexual harassment. An ex-producer just twted there is MUCH WORSE tape waiting out there *gulp* *popcorn.gif*….

  33. Ally8 says:

As too few have pointed out, Trump wants to control women’s bodies and assault them in this way. Mike Pence and other GOPers want to control women’s bodies, too, and use the power of the state to assault them through unnecessary transvaginal ultrasounds, among other invasions of their bodies and privacy.

Trump is not that different from all these other woman-hating freaks: women are just breasts, vaginas and uteruses to them (though some do care about their own mothers, wives and daughters, big whoop).

    • wolfpup says:

What women know about men is their inherent weakness; their insecurity. They are afraid of us – we can dash their masculine dreams with mere words – they need to punch Us for that. That shows the weakness that they feel with their own positions. WE are women, and Life defends itself – flourishing, is our project.

    • Kitten says:

Yes there’s an excellent meme circulating that makes this point so succinctly. I’ll ruin it by paraphrasing but something like “Donald Trump might be the face of your rapist but Mike Pence is the one that will make sure he never faces time.” It’s horrifying to think about.

  34. Jana says:

The only truthful statement Trump has ever made, is that he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue, and his poll numbers would not go down. It is unbelievable to me that there are that many ignorant people in this country, but I’m afraid it’s true.

  35. Soror Bro says:

It’s win-win for Clinton. She’ll win the election and no matter how much damage she does as president her supporters will be able to say “it would’ve been worse under Trump”

  36. Mew says:

How the *bleep* can Melania stand this man? I’d rather be mad poor, sick and lonely than be married to this man even a day. Obviously she’s been p***y grabbed by him. He’s simply disgusting human being, can’t see how anyone would support him. Ugh.

  37. naomipaige says:

This animal should be rotting in a cage somewhere, and not running for office.

  38. Lolo86lf says:

I was watching MSNBC last night and I could not believe that some of Trump’s supporters are so blinded by their racism that they just brushed off his disgusting video from 2005. I say racism because as long he deports millions of Mexican immigrants and he builds a wall on the border they are willing to ignore anything awful that Trump has said and done.
If President Obama had said those things they would so offended and they would be clamoring for him to be impeached.
Those deplorable racist bigots would not be so upset if the illegal immigrants were white from Norway or Finland or Sweden or Germany. But because Mexican people have brown skin they hate them. Racism is repulsive and Donald Trump has validated it to his followers. He has made racism fashionable.

  39. OTHER RENEE says:

This won’t adversely affect his power base: the white male who sees in Trump everything he wishes he could be. These are the men with a sense of entitlement who don’t see anything wrong with “men just being men” because hey that’s just a guy being a guy. Trump is the embodiment of the white man’s desperate grasp at maintaining the previous status quo. Even if Hillary were a saint, these misogynists wouldn’t vote for a woman. Same holds true for the women voting for Trump. They just can’t see beyond Hillary being a woman and a Democrat.

Thank you for posting on a Saturday. I didn’t even look here yesterday figuring you wouldn’t post. The comments here are always the best and the most rational.

    • SusanneToo says:

It also won’t affect the women who hate Hillary, some who show up here with their Trump support.(See a few comments above.)

  40. original kay says:

I feel for Ms Zucker. Standing there, doing her job, all the while her body being discussed without her knowledge or consent.

But then to be offered up to a predator, it is so disturbing and heartbreaking. I hope she has good strong people around her right now.

Nothing to say about Trump that hasn’t already been said.

  41. MellyMel says:

He is absolutely disgusting and deplorable. But what’s worse is he will still get votes, lots of them. The amount of racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic ( and just plain stupid) people in this country is sickening and sadly not surprising. I can’t wait to see the debate tonight! I hope Hillary not only calls him out, but wipes the floor with him.

  42. Eva says:

Da–amm! All Hillary has to do is put her hands behind her head, kick her feet up and smile! Who wants to bet that if Trump doesn’t win Melania is going bye bye soon afterwards?

    • kanyekardashian says:

Melania’s not going anywhere. She signed a butt-tight pre-nup. She probably gets less than a million if she leaves. If she stays, she has it made. She married Donald Trump voluntarily and procreated with him – you don’t think she actually has any ethics, do you?

  43. MrsBPitt says:

I love all the male comments that I have been reading (not on this site) that, this is how men talk about women….well, that’s a major fucking problem right there! Is this really how men talk and think about women??? I feel so naive…

    • Christin says:

I saw several comments stating that was NOT how locker room banter is, at least among anyone the men posting would be around.

His loosey-goosey campaign really dropped the ball (again) by initially dismissing the comments as typical locker room banter and that Bill has said worse on the golf course. Bill is not a candidate!

    • Soror Bro says:

Sounds like you’re going to the wrong sites. I wouldb’t give those people the time of day.

    • The Other Katherine says:

The men I know who are decent human beings say that they sometimes encounter men who talk like this (although not necessarily with quite such overtly rapey overtones) — often men in sales roles, for whatever reason — but that it’s not the norm for “guy talk” with 90+% of the men they encounter without women around. But assholes tend to flock together, and so guys who talk like this are accustomed to hearing misogynist garbage from their buddies and just assume it’s the norm for how all men talk to each other when there are no women around and they can say whatever misogynist crap they really think.

It’s like how racist white people tend to assume all white people are in a little club together; I’ve had the icky experience of racist white people sharing nasty racist comments with me as a fellow white person on the assumption that I’d just be totally on board and cool with it because they truly believe that that’s how all white people secretly think. I imagine that’s what it’s like being a decent male human being (i.e., not Billy Bush) who finds himself on the receiving end of commentary like what Trump was spewing. In either case, you of course need to speak up and express your disapproval if you reasonably can, but it’s a gross position to find yourself in, and you find yourself not only uncomfortable but angry that, not only have you had to listen to offensive garbage which presumes your complicity, but also it’s now somehow on *you* to attempt to educate the offending asshat. Ugh.

    • Payal says:

Which site? The sites comments I’ve read are more like ‘Wait, what?’

  44. Jayna says:

The deplorables don’t care. The only chance is for this to affect the undecideds.

This is a must-read. Great article about this latest fiasco and how it doesn’t matter to his supporters, since nothing else ever has.

  45. Hazel says:

Girls & women need to stop being so ‘nice’. If you don’t want to hug somebody, don’t. Billy Bush should be fired. Donald Trump should just, ugh, go live under a bridge? Just STFU. Please, everyone, vote for Hillary.
