i will watch it for the sake of my WOC .

    • Michael Kelly says:

I am a comic book geek from way back and I will watch every single one of these movies. Even the bad ones. Also great to see Zendaya in a Marvel Movie

  2. Ivy says:

Ok about John Stamos and his new gf, they actually look way more like a couple than Robin Thicke and his girl April. That couple…they LITERALLY look like father and daughter. That one is worse, imo.

Also?! The spiderman movie looks great and I love how he’s Stark’s new protege. They’re phasing RDJ out of marvel, so this is the next step in that.

    • Justjj says:

John Stamos is actually still quite foxy too, and I’ve never heard that he’s a jerk or anything. This isn’t a Mel Gibson situation or a Sean Penn hamfaced moment, basically. There’s something I actually like about RDJ but needless to say, Zendaya is the jam. She’s fabulous.

  3. elevenfeathers says:

I for one am STOKED for the spidey movie. He finally seems like what he always should’ve been – a smart kid that’s in way over his head.

And this doesn’t seem to be another origin story movie because everyone and their dog knows how Peter became Spider-man – which in itself is a breath of fresh air. His intro into the MCU was what, like, 10 minutes? And that’s enough – we’ve established that this is a kid with powers, now let’s see him kick ass.

    • V4Real says:

They are going off a different version of the comics. That’s why Liz is in it and there is no Mary Jane or Harry.

I thought Zendaya role would be bigger though.

    • HH says:

      SAME! I can’t wait!

    • PimmsCupInAPimpCup says:

Yes, thank you for saying my words for me.
This is the first version of Spiderman I can understand.

  4. Scar says:

I’m tired of seeing RDJ in every marvel film. He annoys me to death. The last captain America movie was like 50% cap and 50% iron man. I Want Ant man tho
And whoa on Kirk Douglas. This could mean Michael Douglas might still be around for 20 more years

    • Ayra. says:

He kind of annoys me too, which is why I think he’s perfect for the role as his character is an ass. But I actually really enjoy him as Iron Man.

    • V4Real says:

RDJ in every Marvel movie? I must have missed his scenes in GOTG, AntMan, Dr. Strange and the Two Thor movies.

    • Melly says:

I want Iron Man and RDJ in EVERYTHING! I love RDJ as Iron Man, he’s the perfect kind of asshole for the role. I’m so sad that this is one of this last appearances in Marvel movies.

      • V4Real says:

I’m sad to but still looking forward to The Infinity Wars. But you never know, they might bring him back for the continuation of the Infinity wars.

    • Veronica says:

Iron Man has a hefty role in the comic arc they’re utilizing for these movies, so there’s not a whole lot of getting around him. Probably doesn’t help that RDJ has major movie star power.

  5. eatingpie says:

I’m so excited for the new Spider Man!! 🙂

  6. Nik says:

I don’t mind a new Spider-Man if they’re putting a new spin on it. Judging by the trailer it does feel like a mix of your typical superhero origins story with a high school teen comedy approach. I like the cast as well (e.g. Holland, Zendaya, Keaton). If it gets good reviews, I’ll go see it.

  7. H says:

Is that Iron Man 4, or a Spiderman movie? Not sure from the promo.

    • Melly says:

Well you have to have iron man in it, he’s the one that helped spiderman with the new gear & costume. It would be weird to have him not in the movie.

  8. whyme says:

Growing up I loved Spiderman. My favorite episodes of The Electric Company were when he was on..lol! I think they are finally getting it right. If you read the comics, saw the cartoons, Spiderman was a teen. I like that they made him look and sound like a teen. I feel like Tobey Maguire looked like a man and Andrew Garfield looked like a 20’something college student not teens. It’s supposed to focus around the school and with his friends. And he sounds like a kid. I think it looks good. I will be honest I saw the first two Tobey Maguire movies. Attempted to watch the first Andrew Garfield one but fell asleep 30 minutes in and didn’t even care to revisit it.

ETA: As far as RDJ, they are trying to tie Spiderman into Marvel Avengers movies so of course he’s going to be involved. And here is how the co-writer of Civil War explained it (taken from http://www.cinemablend.com/new/How-Iron-Man-Knew-About-Spider-Man-Civil-War-129587.html)

“I think he’s been keeping tabs. I think he might know about everybody. Tony has A.I. somewhere running crime statistics. He can see where it’s going up and heroes might be needed and where it’s going down and there might be heroes. It’s why he built Ultron in the first place.”

  9. DianaB says:

Whatever. I’m excited for it. I will watch the hell out of this!

    • MichLynn says:

Yup me too! I’m up for more Spider-Man, more Iron Man anytime! I’m excited as hell for this movie.

  10. Mia4S says:

I have to laugh when I see the “Boo! Too much RDJ complaints”. Look I’m lukewarm on Marvel (once in the theatre, enjoyable, done) but it doesn’t take a genius to compare the box office of Marvel movies with RDJ to those without. We are taking hundreds of millions of dollars difference. He’s not going anywhere! Anyone complaining is in a tiny minority. 😉

I will give them credit; Tony Stark in the mentor/possibly-most-questionable-surrogate-father-ever role is a good direction for him.

    • Melly says:

From what I heard, RDJ’s contract with Marvel is almost done. This might be one of the last times we see him as Iron Man, which makes me sad.

      • V4Real says:

They can always re-negotiate. But from my understanding Spiderman Homecoming wasn’t part of RDJ’s contract. Spiderman is still owned by Sony Studios and will be distributed by Sony. Marvel worked out a deal with Sony Studios were they get some of the credit as well since they let them use Iron Man which put Spiderman in the same universe. Marvel hired the actor who plays Peter Parker and Marvel is the creative producers of the film.

  11. Dori says:

Hollywood really ran this character into the ground with three reboots in 15 years, but it will still do well. People love regurgitated martial starring bland guys.

    • V4Real says:

“People love regurgitated martial starring bland guys.”

That’s not necessarily true. People love regurgitated material if it’s done well. Christian Bale original Batman did not do as well as Michael Keaton’s original Batman. It didn’t do better until the sequel. The F4 reboot was an epic fail. The Amazing Spiderman with Andre Garcia didn’t do as well as Toby McGuire’s original Spiderman. However Spiderman Homecoming will fair much better due to Marvel involvement in the film as well as RDJ. Also people are happy that it is in the same universe as the other Marvel popular characters.

  12. Amy Tennant says:

I’m excited for it, but I’m a dork for all of the MCU movies. However, one thing I hate about all these Spidey reboots is they all have him as a young kid. Which is fine. That’s great. Some of the best Spidey stuff is when he’s a teenager. But if you keep rebooting and starting all over again, you never get to see some of the more mature Peter Parker stories when he’s a grownup. That’s untapped potential. You don’t have to keep going back to the spider bite. (I like that they skipped the origin storyline for him in Civil War at least).

I wouldn’t have minded seeing Miles Morales either.

  13. Amy Tennant says:

Kirk Douglas and Olivia de Havilland both turned 100 this year. Living Hollywood history.

  14. greenmonster says:

Was anyone else thinking of Nick Carter when seeing the header pic? And now that I thought about Nick Carter I have to go and bleach my brain.

  15. Melly says:

I love Stephen Colbert! He’s pretty much the only reason I ever watch CBS. If the Late Show is taken away from him, I’ll be devastated. I do wish he would have stuck with Comedy Central, he would have been a much better host of the Daily Show than Trevor Noah.

    • AnneC says:

Colbert should go back to Comedy Central and restart the Colbert Report. He’s going to have 4 Trump years of comedy gold to mine. So much more interesting then a boring late night network show.

      • Sigh... says:

Yeah, I think Colbert Report is what America will *desperately* need, and w/ Stewart noticably…”soft-balling” Trump supporters and Noah busy (poorly) explaining away the extra Racist Barbie has/is receiving (literally) (**eye roll**), thank goodness we still have Samantha Bee…

    • pinetree13 says:

Agreed! Noah made me stop watching The Daily Show, something I thought would never happen! I just can’t stand him as host. Now John Oliver is my main man. I also don’t like Colbert as a talk show host. He needs to go back to the Colbert report!

  16. nicegirl says:

Wow, Kirk Douglas!! Good genes for sure

  17. pato says:

    I loved that trailer!!!

  18. Amberica says:

I’ve got a 10 year old son. Spider-Man feels inevitable at this point. But this one at least looks enjoyable. My God, let us never return to the year my 4 year old was obsessed with Spider Man 3, because “Venom is cool”. Once you’ve lived that, you’re not going to complain about Tom Holland.

  19. Franklymydear... says:

I haven’t watched any of the Spiderman movies since Tobey Maguire but I am excited for this one. 1:57 in the trailer, my favorite Batman shows up…LOVE HIM!!!! RDJ is always good fun.
