Jon Gosselin confirms that he’s actually stripping: ‘I lost 25 pounds’

On Monday we heard that Jon Gosselin, the former reality star and dad of eight, was going to be stripping as part of an all-male revue in Atlantic City, New Jersey. John also works as a DJ and the way he promoted this event on Twitter suggested that he might be DJing or doing something adjacent to the actual dancers. As many of you pointed out in the comments, this is also slated to take place on Saturday April 1st, April Fool’s day, and could all be a prank for PR purposes. Whatever the case, Jon told Page Six that he lost weight for the event, which is also on his 40th birthday, and that it’s like a farewell to his 30s. (And his dignity.) Page Six also has the alleged details of Jon’s debut, which will include three performances:

Jon Gosselin is taking his debut as a stripper seriously.

“I lost weight. I lost 25 pounds — for my health, too,” the former reality star and ex-husband of Kate Gosselin told Page Six Monday. “I have hereditary high blood pressure. So I started dieting. My girlfriend is a nurse practitioner. I just try to be healthy.”

On Saturday, April 1 (which also happens to be Gosselin’s 40th birthday), he will star in three acts of the “Untamed Male Revue” at Dusk nightclub in Atlantic City, N.J. Tickets are $40 each.

“It’s the last episode in my 30s and the first episode in my 40s,” Gosselin explained.

“My kids know everything that’s gonna go on,” he said. “I cleared it with them before I did anything … I told them the whole marketing plan. They’re teenagers now. They understand this stuff.”

[From Page Six]

So his kids are teenagers and they’re ok with their dad stripping? That to me suggests this is a stunt and he’s not going to actually do this. Jon also says his preferred music will be Tupac’s “Changes
and Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative.” He says that “Because it is my prerogative! It’s not anyone else’s business.” He’s performing in a club and promoting it online and it’s not anyone’s business at all. Now imagine Jon hopping around stage to My Prerogative and ripping his Ed Hardy shirt off while making a “sexy” face that’s more like a sad grimace.

He really does not look healthy.

That’s what booze bloat and hard living look like. It’s not age — there are plenty of older men that look fantastic, and older than him even.

the promotional poster is one of the most unflattering pictures I’ve ever seen.

I realize people will only go see this for the trainwreck value, but still…they can’t even PRETEND that they’re marketing this in a genuine way?…

Reality TV just wrecked this entire family. I wonder where they’d be if they’d never starred in that awful show. I feel like, maybe it wouldn’t be amazing, but they’d be a lot more normal…

    • Lady D says:

She had those children specifically to appear on television. Reality TV was always and only her goal to the detriment of her marriage, children, friends, extended family, and pets(poor puppies) If there is Karma this one will end up alone, except for feral cats spraying her front door.

  14. Snowflake says:

    Gross, so gross.

  15. Svea says:

It’s so weird how it all brought him to such a lifestyle.

Two weeks ago I was sitting with two colleagues at a conference, when we saw a man in his 30s with embroidered jeans. Our first though was “That is really bad. Is it Desigual?” We took a closer look and said “It’s worse – it’s Ed Hardy!”
Ed Hary clothes is the best contraception ever!

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

I have never ever understood the appeal of Ed Hardy’s clothes – they have always screamed ‘a douche bags mid life crisis’ to me. The only guys who can remotely get away with wearing them are in the late teens/early 20s.

    • Snowflake says:

Yes, when i was single, i would never get with a guy wearing ed hardy gear. Guaranteed douche bag

  17. HK9 says:

I will pay him to keep his clothes on because I’m sure no one wants to see that. Nobody.

  18. Evie says:

I got so used to him during Jon and Kate Plus 8, so there is one specific version of him I have in my head when I hear his name. But the person who I am actually confronted with is an entirely different person, and it always makes me laugh that this is him now.

  19. Mop top says:

    *shudders*

  20. Snowflake says:

He would literally do anything to be in the spotlight. Ugh

  21. holly hobby says:

    Ew. Such a sad person.

  22. HappyMom says:

This is the example he wants to set for his kids? This is what you do when you need to pay the bills-take off your clothes?

  23. Neo says:

He’s a guy without shame who wants to market himself. It’s somewhat desperate but it does anything’s wrong with his moral character. Strippers are people too, y’all.
