Mila Kunis made her first red-carpet outing since giving birth to son Dimitri

Cinema Con 2017 - 'The State Of The Industry: Past, Present, & Future' Premiere

Here are some photos of Mila Kunis at CinemaCon on Tuesday. She looks gorgeous, right? My God, she’s beautiful. I keep forgetting that, oh right, Mila Kunis was pregnant for most of 2016 and she gave birth last December. We barely even discussed it! She and Ashton Kutcher welcomed a son named Dimitri. So he’s a little more than three months old now. Their first child is daughter Wyatt Isabelle, and she’ll be three years old this fall. I seem to remember the first pregnancy and baby got a lot more attention, which happens a lot with regular people and celebrities. Basically, I’m saying that I totally forgot about Dimitri because Mila and Ashton have been a lot quieter lately, and the media hasn’t been paying much attention to them either. But Mila was in Vegas for CinemaCon, so she ended up chatting about babies and more.

With her firstborn, daughter Wyatt Isabelle, now 2, Mila Kunis had forgotten what sleepless nights were like — until son Dimitri Portwood arrived in November. The actress — who, on Tuesday, made her first red carpet appearance since welcoming her second child with husband Ashton Kutcher —was asked about what it was like adding her baby boy to the mix.

“It’s different, there’s two,” Kunis, 33, said of the household dynamic while attending the STX presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. “He’s also 3 months old and you forget what sleepless nights are like. I remember guys, talk to me.”

Soon, Kunis will be leaving the confines of her Los Angeles home to film A Bad Moms Christmas, a sequel that stems from the success of last year’s hit Bad Moms.

“It’s so strange. I feel like people are so appreciative of the voice that it gave not just women or mothers,” she said of the reception from Bad Moms. “Even men come up to me and say, ‘This movie is so great. I finally understand my mom and my wife so much more.’ People really responded to it because it’s honest.” She added, “Yes, it’s very funny and it’s very over the top, but it’s grounded in so much honesty.”

Although Christmas is many months away, Kunis was asked about what the holidays were like for her as a child.

“It’s a funny question, you ask a Russian refugee, who’s a Jew, what Christmas was like,” Kunis, who wore Brunello Cucinelli’s Cotton Surplus Poplin Pant Jumpsuit, joked as the crowd gathered at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum roared. “My entire family is very family oriented, and the holidays, whether it’s Hanukkah, Easter or Christmas, whenever there is an excuse to have food, everyone is really stoked. For me, Christmas was just another reason to get the whole family together and be debaucherous.”

Mila also told E! News that she feels very “lucky” because Wyatt adores her baby brother already and there doesn’t seem to be any sibling rivalry. She also joked to E! about how she’s a really cheap date these days: “My girlfriends and I went out to dinner a month ago and I got home at 10:30 from a dinner and I had three penicillins which is a delicious, delicious beverage. [I was] hammered. Three drinks, I am now a very cheap date.” She says that she and Ashton don’t even do date nights because they have to be up in the morning with the kids no matter what. And now I feel so out-of-touch, because I’ve never even heard of the cocktail Penicillin. You can read the ingredients here. It’s whiskey-based with honey and lemon juice. Damn, that sounds good!

She looks amazing and as she gets older she reminds me more and more of Angelina Jolie, which is not so weird since both played the same character.

    • teacakes says:

Yeah they really nailed it with that child actor casting in Gia – Mila and Angelina looked enough alike that you could actually believe the former would grow up to look like the latter. That’s not common with child actors.

    • Lucy2 says:

That’s funny, I was just thinking how good that casting was when she was a child, but that they don’t look that much alike now.

  2. Hot pockets says:

Last time I heard penicillin was referred to as a hot Totty

    • Chloeee says:

@hotpockets a penicillin is served on ice and a hot toddy has hot water or tea. Penicillins are delicious. My dude doesn’t think Mila is gorgeous, I think he’s crazy.

      • tealily says:

She is gorgeous, isn’t she? I love her makeup here, and that jumpsuit (or top and pants… whatever it is).

  3. Original T.C. says:

I think she actually looks better these days. Whatever she did to her face I like. She now looks like a mix of Katie Holmes and Angelina Jolie.

    • Essie says:

She really does look like Katie Holmes. Once seen, can’t unsee. Both beautiful women, but I never thought they looked similar until now, bar being brunettes.

    • isabelle says:

She a tiny bit more of weight on her since having the kids. Think its filled out her face some? She looks great.

  4. minx says:

She looks beautiful, just simple and comfortable.

    • INeedANap says:

That outfit is flattering and fresh. She looks easy breezy chic. I find it much sexier for that reason than the crazy tight dresses and sky-high heels that make the wearer look a bit stilted.

      • TQB says:

Yeah, that outfit is killer and I’ll bet it’s fairly forgiving. Clean lines, super chic.

  5. Frigga says:

    She looks fantastic. Her boobs!

  6. smee says:

She has an incredible face! Her hair & make-up are perfect. Her outfit looks good on her (and comfy) but I have a real problem with mis-matched shades of black. Pet peeve.

  7. ell says:

i used to crazy lover her, before arseton, when she still had a career and talked of all sorts of things other than children. sigh.

    • Chinoiserie says:

She is taking a bit of a break with kids, it normal for actresses.
      She can still get roles.

  8. QQ says:

She looks great, too bad that now it seems they will only put her in crappy movies starting to do less elevated “Jane Chapman in BLL” roles.. ya know .. she is already “Mom” in the casting people’s eye it seems

    • ell says:

she’s put herself there though. since she’s had children she seems to be just mum. other female actors around her age manage to get far better roles than have nothing to with parenting.

      • QQ says:

I keep thinking about it, You’re right, I was going to say her chops were only gonna do so much and she isn’t doing Jessica Alba Sexy

      • slowsnow says:

Some actresses and even actors take some time to enjoy parenthood and then come back to great roles.
There is a time, annoying for many people, particularly when you have just given birth, when your life is completely taken by the baby that needs to be fed, changed, weighed etc. constantly.
If you are not going back to work like she isn’t, it takes up all of your day. It’s phase and it will go away.
When a guy does this it annoys people much less (with the exception of the oversharer Dax wathever his name is).
I’m pretty sure it’s a choice. And she has a good sense of humour (i.e. Bad Moms).
Edit: and she doesn’t seem to be cut from the same cloth as, say, Scarlett Johansson who is very driven. I’m not sure Mila is dreaming of that Oscar.

      • ell says:

i hate being lectured about enjoying parenthood etc. i don’t agree with the notion that being a parent means that the only thing that exists for you is parenting. it’s boring and uninteresting to me. my best friend is a parent and i have a mum, and they never stopped being ridiculously interesting people, with lots to say, experiencing the world, and pursuing a career.

everyone’s allowed to do what they want, and i’m allowed to find it dull. also bad moms was terrible.

      • slowsnow says:

Haha @ell, Jesus, no one is lecturing you! Mama mia. I was trying to put myself in Milla’s shoes.
Moreover, I am inclined to agree with you. I’m a mum, but I hate small talk about kids and avoid them at all costs. My pet peeve would be the mum that tries to capitalise on being “the mum” like Susan Sarandon’s daughter who has never done anything for herself.
Milla has never stuck me as a goundbreakingly adventurous actress anyway.
I just prefer her kind of chilled attitude than those parents who sound like they just reinvented the weel.

      • ell says:

@slowsnow, i must have misread your tone. i just can’t relate to women who see themselves as just ‘the mum’, and when i point that out, the answer i get often feels like lecturing. i’ve always been surrounded by mothers because my mum has several sisters, and all of them were super badass, funny, with so much to say for themselves as women and not solely as mothers. so i found mila disappointing on that front.

    • Neelyo says:

I think her performance in that OZ BRAVE AND POWERFUL movie did more to slow her career momentum than any baby.

      • QQ says:

        Howls to the moon… YES

      • ell says:

it didn’t stall anyone else’s career in that cast, so why hers? nah, it’s the fact she’s put herself in the parent position. it’s literally all she talks about, i used to be a fan and she was so funny an interesting, and picked some interesting roles as well. after black swan she had gained quite a bit of momentous, it’s a shame she didn’t keep it up.

      • Neelyo says:

@ell – Because she was the only one of the cast who got bad reviews. I like Kunis a lot, but the film showed that as an actor she’s just not in the same league as Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz.

      • Mia4s says:

@NEELYO I agree, and Jupiter Ascending didn’t help. Actors can survive bad movies if they are good or interesting. She was terrible in both. It’s kind to think that she put herself in the “parent” position but that’s used too often as an excuse for stalled acting careers. It’s an extreme example but come on, Cate Blanchett has four children! No, Kunis, Alba, Biel, etc. just could not keep up. Kunis seems more comfortable with that fact and is taking the work where she can. And it’s been moderately successful. She’ll be a lot happier for that. I think Biel going back to TV. Wise!

      • QQ says:

TBH I like how this work/acting level/is going? *Oprah Hand in chin*

      • ell says:

@Neelyo, but there are tons of actresses who aren’t splendid, but fare well for themselves if they act like 3 D human beings, and talk of other things other than babies or husbands. for instance, i don’t believe scarlett johansson is all that much of an actor, but look at her career.

@Mia4 ‘Cate Blanchett has four children’

watch an interview with blanchett, she talks about all sorts of things, she paints herself as a woman and a human being, she’s not defined by her role as a mum and that’s what makes the difference. having children isn’t what relegates you to the mum roles, acting like all you have going on is your family life does e.g. kate winslet vs jennifer garner

    • slowsnow says:

Gotcha @ell, sounds like you have a great network of women around you, of women who do not let themselves be defined by the ability to conceive! What I find particulalry sad about “the mum” is that eventually the role dissipates – no diapers, no homework, no control over the food or bedtime etc – and life becomes empty. What ARE you then?
Big topic, but I get what you’re saying, is all I’m saying.
This is for @ell on the thread above.

  9. PIa says:

I liked her response to the Xmas question. We shouldn’t assume off the bat, even for people who are Caucasian, that celebrating Xmas is a given.

  10. Blaire Carter says:

Not related, but I had a revelation last night that I never want to have kids. I’m 28 and I believe I won’t change my mind. I feel a like weight has been lifted off my chest and I’m like ,”Die eggs, die!” (No, not really.)

    • isabelle says:

I don’t have kids, have no plan having kids but son’t necessarily want that menopause thing to happen yet. It wrecks your body unfortunately and yes I’m vain enough to not want the aging effects that come with it.

    • whyme says:

That’s so funny (not funny ha ha) because I’m in my early 40’s and have one healthy child (got pregnant at 35) but suffer from secondary infertility and multiple miscarriages and lately have been suffering some health complications recently and told I will most likely have to have a hysterectomy and last night I realized I’ll have to get the operation and was hysterical crying that I couldn’t ever have more children and also worried that I may have early onset menopause because of the operation (vain reasons ha). So I was an emotional mess last night!

But it’s a funny world how everyone is so different and how we want different things. I guess that’s what makes the world so interesting. Good luck to you on your journey.

    • Embee says:

Do you feel relieved to have had the revelation? I was meeting with a client yesterday whose only child, a daughter, does not have kids. This mom (who is in her late 70’s) is so chill she has literally never asked her daughter about it, because she figured if her daughter wanted to discuss it she would. So mom has no idea if it was a choice, infertility, nada. And she admires, respects and envies her daughter’s life of travel, cooking and fun.

I got knocked up at age 34 (unplanned) and went with it. Love my kiddo to pieces but often wonder how much fun I’d be having if I hadn’t had a kid. I think you can have a great life without kids.

      • Blaire Carter says:

I’ve always imagined a life with children. But this just hit me hard. But if something were to happen and I ended up pregnant I would gladly take that journey too.

  11. Rosey says:

Agreed. She looks really good here. Love her whole outfit.

  12. Barrett says:

She is phenomenal when done up. I kinda like when she is every day clothes, no make up bc she really looks like a regular person that boom a metamorphosis!

  13. Nacho_friend says:

I need those pants and shoes

  14. Kitten says:

She looks AMAZING–gorgeous and I want that outfit!!

    • detritus says:

I love a good wrap top.
The pants are great too, but in the winter what boots would you wear?

  15. Dani says:

I can totally vouch for being a cheap date after having kids. After not drinking for 9 months, one glass of wine knocked me out with my first lol. Also I feel her on the no date night thing – my husband actually mentioned the other day how he doesn’t see it being a good or responsible idea to go get hammered when we have to come home to the kids.

  16. Penelope says:

Her face looks…different. She was perfectly lovely before she did whatever she did to it.

At any rate, I’ve always liked her and she is gorgeous.

    • whyme says:

Could be because she got pregnant in quick succession and put some weight on. I know it took my face a while to “depuff” after I gave birth. Of course she could have had work done, I don’t put it past anyone and not that there is anything wrong with it. But she’s always been beautiful with beautiful features and so young so I hope she never fussed with her face.

      • Penelope says:

Her face looks narrower and skinnier to me…not puffy at all. I think she looked better with a fuller face but again, she’s gorgeous anyway. 🙂

  17. SM says:

I never though I would relate to Mila. We also usually just go out to dinner and never stick around longer than until midnight no matter the ocassion because around 11 pm I am starting getting anxious that I will have to up in the morning running after my toddler. I also am a jew and for me christmas also is an opportunity to get together with the extended family and enjoy a lot of food

  18. whyme says:

She looks beautiful. I love her styling and makeup as well. I would love to wear her shoes too! I can’t wear heels anymore but they are so pretty.

  19. Abby says:

    She is gorgeous!

I knew she was Eastern European but I don’t think I knew that she was a Russian Jew. My mom’s Italian / Russian grandparents emigrated from Russia and were Jewish.

I too am a cheap date now that I’m a mom. One or two drinks and I’m good! I also currently crash out when I try to do anything late because I’m so tired :-/

One thing that strikes me is how many many years Mila has worked in Hollywood. She probably gets so much money from reruns of The Family Guy and That 70s Show (for that one, Ashton too!) that I wonder if she really has to work at all? Two babies that close together–I’m literally right there in the thick of it, and if I had the choice of dialing back my work a little bit, I would too.

  20. Erica_V says:

    Penicillins are the bomb!

I recommend using a peated whiskey to get the full effect of flavor.

  21. deevia says:

That doesn’t even look like Mila Kunis! Yes, someone also very attractive with a more elongated face, sunken cheeks and smaller, les prominent eyes. Almost like Mira Kurschner.

  22. Rina says:

    Mila is stunning!

  23. TJ. Church says:

    Questions:

How does someone who knows how to look that good that soon after childbirth & lie on her job applications about certain things still end up being dumb enough to marry & have kids with Ashton, or name their daughter Wyatt?!
