Donald Trump is still tweeting about Susan Rice, because of course

I feel sorry for Susan Rice. She worked as a public servant and an academic for most of her life and I don’t think she’s good at speaking on her own behalf or handling the “public relations” side of any job. I also think that even if she had been good at the PR part of her job as National Security Adviser under President Obama, she still would have been mercilessly attacked, mocked and undermined. Nowadays, Rice is enjoying her semi-retirement from public service, except that she’s still making headlines because Emperor Bigly is an unhinged moron and because Congressional Republicans LOVE to attack black women.

A month ago, Republicans began saying flat-out that Susan Rice, in her capacity as NSA, was wiretapping Donald Trump and investigating every person he was speaking to. There was a lot of innuendo and conspiracy-theorizing and GOP hysteria that they had finally found the “smoking gun” and it was Susan Rice. Donald Trump was happy to fan those flames, saying outright that Rice had “committed a crime.” Weeks later, a bipartisan review of Rice’s actions revealed that… oh, right, she didn’t do anything wrong.

But the GOP can’t give up on their favorite boogeyman. A Senate subcommittee investigating the Russian interference on the election has requested Rice to testify on the record. She declined to appear. According to CNN, she has declined to appear because the Republicans were the ones who were asking her, and the Democrats on the subcommittee had not agreed that they needed her testimony. Rice declined basically because the subcommittee doesn’t have their sh-t together and why would she put herself in the position of just being screamed at by Republican a–holes? But now the Republicans have another conspiracy to latch onto. And Bigly is on it.

Again, a bipartisan committee found that Rice had done nothing wrong. She was literally doing her job. She was literally the National Security Adviser and she literally had access to classified materials. The only reason she isn’t testifying is because the Republicans are trying to divert attention from Bigly’s Russian D-sucking.

At risk of repeating myself ad nauseam, I loathe this man, most of the Republican party (FU pence and your religious freedom EO), and every single one of the people who voted and support this travesty.

I sincerely hope the White House chef is heavy handed with the salt, butter, cream, and lard.

    WHAT A SHITHEAD.

Sorry for nothing more cogent, but seriously–what a fucking fascist shithead.

Trump is attacking her on Twitter this morning. And Lindsay Graham set her up. He’s the one who invited her, without input from anyone else, to testify before the subcommittee on an issue completely unrelated to what the subcommittee is working on. She originally accepted but then reversed when Sheldon Whitehouse told her that Graham had not consulted with him before sending the invitation and the issue she was to discuss was NOT what they are investigating. Lots of Senators, even Republicans, were saying last night that she was right to reject an invitatin that came only from Graham, especially as she had nothing to contribute to the subcommittee’s investigation.

Graham is trying to play both roles- the loyal Trumpkin and the “Republican of Conscious.” He’s a wily b@stard and will end up dancing with whichever faction seems the most politically expedient.

      • Lightpurple says:

He always has and he has wasted hundreds of millions of our tax dollars in the process going back to his time as “House Impeachment Manager” – the only one of the impeachment team, it seems, who hadn’t committed adultery.

Susan Rice is intelligent, black, and a woman. It’s not wonder he despises her with every fiber in his being.

    • Lightpurple says:

What’s Lindsay Graham’s excuse? He’s the jerk who put this in motion by extending an invitation to testify at a subcommittee without informing his democrat counterpart and by asking her to testify on an issue the subcommittee is not investigating. I see this as Graham putting party before country and sending a message to Trump that he’ll help him distract from the real issues, like the fact the House will vote today to end healthcare for millions.

Not living in the US, I haven’t seen her being interviewed many times but when I have, she comes across as smart and precise. It’s not her fault the presenters of many news shows are mere faces not professional journalists, and whose lack of integrity has caused the dumbing down of society.

I truly believe the main goal of the Republican party is to paint the Obama administration as corrupt despots, which is a side benefit of them insisting he was born in Kenya. (General impression being that all African governments are corrupt.) They are dying to find a scandal, so they turn Benghazi into something it wasn’t, and was perfect bc it trapped Hillary and Susan Rice in something that was nothing.

They want so badly to have a legitimate reason to erase Obama’s legacy. It KILLS them that a black man with a diverse administration was actually able to make progress while they fought him every step of the way. KILLS THEM. Upends the narrative of the white male supremacy they spent centuries to build. It infuriates me every time I think about it.

So many things came up yesterday in the hearings, but one thing Democrats wisely asked Comey about was the procedure for stepping aside and a independent investigator put in his place in past investigations he’s done. I think they are building a bridge to independent bipartisan investigator heading this and not Comey. The Dems are slowly working towards connecting the dots of proving Russian meddling in the election and working toward eventual Impeachment hearings for Trump, as all the dots began to be connected.
That’s why TRUMP is screaming about Rice on twitter, he wants a diversion and to direct the hearings in another direction but Democrats are not going for it and neither is Susan Rice.

Gah! Don’t know where to post this but just accidentally called the wrong congressmens office to talk about aca. It was sooo awkward.

  7. Jenns says:

    DON’T LET THIS DISTRACT YOU.

There is a sh*t healthcare bill that the House is voting to pass today that is basically a 1.Tax cut for the rich and 2. Will kill people. CALL YOUR REPS!

    • Whatabout says:

Just called mine! Accidentally dialed Faso (NY) the line is busy. Did they take the phone off the hook or hopefully people are calling! Please call your congressperson!

    • Lightpurple says:

If you can’t get through the Washington numbers, call the district numbers, send faxes or emails too. Some like Ryan and Kevin McCarthy have shut down their phone lines. They don’t want to hear from anyone.

  8. Rice says:

Cannot help but read all of Drumpf’s tweets in Drumpf-voice. #Sniff

  9. Onemoretime says:

Everyone knows Trumps schick now , to bad it’s not fun and games. Deflect , deflect and more deflection. It’s old and tiring. Tweet something outrageous for our uninformed press to salivate over and pass some shady bill while people are distracted. Everyday it’s something more ridiculous. I’m tired but still willing to fight the good fight by calling my representatives weekly.

  10. Vlk says:

It is frustrating. So many people I know said they thought others would go vote, so they didn’t worry. People stayed home and didn’t vote, then wondered how Trump got in. I’ve seen so many people in my own neighborhood ask, HOW did Trump get in, I ask did you go vote? They reply well NO, I DIDN’T THINK he would win.
I begged these people to vote and they are Democrats. They said they liked Hillary, they just figured everyone would go vote, so they themselves stayed home.
It’s so idiotic. I just can’t” with some of them now. To know so many sat on their azzes…..when Trump was talking blatant racism and talking about taking the Country back to pre Civil Rights 1940’s,1950’s, yet they still sat on their butts, NOW they wonder how it happened and wonder how they will keep their healthcare! wtf

  11. Original T.C. says:

    Ignore

  12. jessica says:

i always laugh when there is so much time between a two part tweet from bigly. It reminds me of whomever said that they just picture a staffer trying to wrestle his phone away form him for 9 minutes.

  13. HK9 says:

FFS why can’t this guy stop with the twitter wars and get to actually running the country? The only thing I can think of, is that the regime (I can’t in good conscience call it an administration anymore) is doing the Goebbels propaganda ‘accuse the other side of doing what you’re doing’ thing. So, I wonder what else they’re trying to hide today.

  14. Rapunzel says:

Trump knows they’re closing in. He’s desperate to deflect. But we’re all onto his schtick by now. It won’t work.

  15. jwoolman says:

I’m not sure what Rice could say in an open hearing because she was dealing with classified information. Maybe more in closed session? But if they have the security clearances, why not hand them the transcripts and the secret decoder rings?

But it makes no sense to ask her to testify if they just want to deflect from the real issues and yell at her because she was doing her job properly.

  16. why? says:

Trump is tweeting about Susan Rice and spreading more lies about her again because there are no consequences for his actions and he knows that Ivanka and Jared and the press who was patted him on the back for being “presidential” for dropping bombs on Syria and Afghanistan are going to go right along with it. Didn’t Ivanka and Jared explain to Trump that the HIC, both the democrats and the republicans, looked at the information that Nunes and the 3 WH staffers were peddling and came to conclusion that Susan Rice didn’t do anything wrong? What is the point in having Ivanka and Jared in the WH if Trump is going to keep posting things like this?
    .

Can’t Susan Rice sue Trump for libel? Trump is such a hypocrite, he whined about the press spreading lies and suing them for libel and then he gets back on twitter days later and spreads lies about Susan Rice. It’s up the press to hold Trump to his own standards.

So Gragham went rogue, taking matters into his own hands, and now Trump is blaming Susan Rice?

The GOP passed Trump and Ryan’s health care bill, which is worse than the first version of Trump and Ryan care . We live in a country where are government puts party before the needs of the people.
