Ariana Grande resumes her Dangerous Woman tour in Paris

After the success of her One Love Manchester concert, which has raised over $13 million for the victims of the tragic May 22 terror attack in England, singer Ariana Grande resumed her Dangerous Woman tour at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris on Wednesday.

Before the show, the 23-year-old singer posted a photo of the Eiffel Tower on Instagram, adding the caption, “First show back tonight. Thinking of our angels every step of the way. I love you with all my heart.”

According to Reuters, security for the Paris show was at the highest level, with fans subjected to pat-downs and bag searches. In addition Paris police blocked traffic to the roads leading to the arena hours before the concert and officers with sniffer dogs patrolled the venue during the performance.

The 23-year-old singer performed her hits, including “Break Free” and “Problem” for the crowd. Added to the setlist for the Paris gig was Ariana’s stirring cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” that she originally performed during the One Love Manchester show. On Wednesday, she dedicated the song to the “angels” who lost their lives in the attack. (Side note: damn, that girl can sing. Also all proceeds from sales of the cover will go to Manchester victims.)

Ariana’s beau, Mac Miller, joined her on stage for their duet “One Last Time.” Even though the couple are tight-lipped regarding the rumors that marriage is in the near future, fans were clearly able to see a diamond ring on her “engagement ring finger.”

After the show, Ariana posted a photo to Instagram with the caption, “Merci, Paris Je t’aime Grateful to be back.” I’m sure the feeling is mutual. Heck, I have completely changed my tune about Ariana since this tragedy. Let’s just hope the rest of her tour goes on without a hitch.

Merci, Paris ♡ Je t'aime Grateful to be back 🙏🏼

I hope she’s doing well and not being pressured to do the tour.

Bravery upon bravery by this young woman. To go from one city that was attacked to another that has suffered from terrorist. Good for her! I don’t think she would be doing this if she didn’t want to be, I really believe she needed to take time and do something about what happened in order to move on. She seems strong enough with a good family and back up that if she needed to cancel it, she would.

I don’t think I’ve ever changed my feelings about anyone so quickly as I did Ariana. She really did handle this with such grace. Much props to her. Her voice/style will never be my personal favorite but I think I’ll always have respect for her.

Same here. The 2010s pop star sound is really not my thing but the wake of the Manchester attacks really made me see Ariana through new eyes/actually notice her for the first time.

Same here. She has shown with this to be a woman of great substance and forgotten is the donut girl. I’d be a blubbering mess. Really impressed by her.

I’m still astounded by the courage, grace and sincerity she showed in the wake of those horrific attacks.

All respect to Ariana, and I hope that she and the people affected are able to heal and have the resources they need to do that.

Her shoutout to her band, dancers & crew is awesome! It must be difficult for all of them to restart the tour (obviously not as difficult as for the people who actually lost family members please don’t jump on me saying i’m equating the two).

She’s been wearing that ring since January or February so it’s not new. I think they are engaged but don’t feel the need to share it.

She’s done a great job of handling a horrible situation. Respect for her.
