For a quick recap, let me just say that all of the best soap opera/homewrecking drama is happening with B and C-List celebrities. First, US Weekly busted married LeAnn Rimes and married Eddie Cibrian getting dirty with each other a few months ago. A lot of stuff hit the proverbial fan in the aftermath, but both LeAnn and Eddie’s marriages stayed intact. Then, a few weeks ago, TMZ busted Eddie and LeAnn having drinks together out in public, at a Lakers game. As you would imagine, there’s more drama!
Wednesday, Eddie Cibrian’s wife, Brandi Glanville, went to US Weekly and totally went off about how LeAnn is a crazy stalker, and how LeAnn is constantly “texting and calling” Eddie. Brandi defended her public comments by saying she was “not a scorned wife. I’m a happy wife fighting for what I have.” Of course, Brandi also said, “LeAnn is a stalker… She refuses to leave us alone — it is shameful and scary. People are going to say it takes two to tango and I get that, but at some point LeAnn needs to stop asking him to dance. LeAnn is so desperate for fame she has left her self-respect in the gutter and doesn’t care who she hurts to get what she wants. She’s hurting my family and messing with the wrong mom.”
The whole thing is a bit weird – Brandi seems to be giving Eddie a pass, and blaming the affair totally on LeAnn. LeAnn isn’t taking any of that crap, though. LeAnn issued her own statement – via her spokesperson – this one to People Magazine, which I read as a subtle dig at Brandi. Brandi has to give her statement – not using a spokesperson – to US Weekly, the B-list tabloid, while People Magazine publishes the official record with LeAnn’s statement, via a paid spokesperson. I read it as LeAnn subtly telling Brandi that she (LeAnn) doesn’t really care enough about Brandi to issue her own statement, but LeAnn’s still important enough to get her spokesperson’s calls taken at People. The statement’s a good one, too:
Country star LeAnn Rimes is responding to a report in which Brandi Glanville, the wife of Eddie Cibrian – Rimes’s costar in the Lifetime movie, Northern Lights – claims that the country star is “stalking” her husband.
“These comments are incredibly defamatory,” a spokesperson for Rimes tells PEOPLE. “While there are always two sides to every story, LeAnn continues to remain above the fray and chooses not to play this out in the press.”
Rimes, 26, has been working in Los Angeles, while her husband of seven years, Dean Sheremet, 28, has been in Nashville writing and producing.
Last month, Rimes was spotted chatting with Cibrian, 35, who’s married to model Glanville, 36, at a L.A. Lakers game, two months after reports of an affair between the country star and the actor. Rimes’s pal told PEOPLE at the time that it was not a planned meeting.
As for Rimes and Sheremet? “They’re still working on their marriage,” says a Rimes pal, who adds that the idea that LeAnn is hungry for fame is “extremely disparaging. To think that someone as successful and accomplished as LeAnn would want this kind of publicity is laughable.”

“Defamatory” is a powerful word. It says to me “Shut-up, or I’ll sue your ass until you’re on welfare.” It says “defame this as I steal your husband, lady!” I also like how LeAnn and her husband Dean are totally fine. There’s totally no drama there – maybe because they have an understanding. Just think about it – where is Dean Sheremet in all of this drama? He’s just chilling out, waiting for his wife to come home from her latest date, so they can gossip about the details.

Brandi claimed that LeAnn was calling and texting Eddie extensively-a major sign of stalking. If that is true there is hard evidence and she should have shown that to People Mag. Anyone can get every call and text record off the phone company website for their cell phones. It took hard evidence to prove the affair and it will take the same to prove stalking.

LeAn is certainly guilty of kissing this guy in a restaurant — we all saw that photo. where is her admission to that? she can’t deny, deny, deny it all and turn a blind eye to photo evidence of messing with a taken man. grow up, LeAn. grow up and get real.
I think “husband borrowing” is better since most men don’t leave their wives. Some men are so strong and yet so weak.
LeAnn and Eddie both suck for what they’re doing. Eddie could change his phone number so he wouldn’t get any texts from her, right? She seems like the stalker type too, plus I’m sure she also feels a sense of entitlement to what ever she wants. A woman actively pursuing a married man is probably the lowest one can go. If this is true I hope it comes backs to haunt her 10 fold.
Acting above it all and still pursuing that married man? Please. Team Brandi.

Eddie is probably the hottest guy that ever gave LeAnn the time of day, so she must be having a hard time letting go.

Notice how she doesn’t accuse the wife of Slander or Libel, that because the only defense against either is that what was said is THE TRUTH. LeAnn needs to crawl back into the hole of a life she created for herself with her fem looking husband and leave someone else’s husband alone. LeAnn seems to be one of those delusional types that even though she is not a pretty women, she thinks she is.
HELLO!!! the husband is to blame for ruining his marriage! LeAnn and her husband are dealing with their issues PRIVATELY! Have some dignity Brandi! Wow! If your man steps out you put him in check BEHIND CLOSED DOORS not put all your business in the streets.
Lisa…the truth is also a defense to defamation. Defamation just means the statement was published. Slander and libel mean the statement was spoken (like a press conference etc.)
Sounds like the husband is trying to weasel out of his mess by telling his wife that LeAnn’s a stalker. He’s the biggest villain here and fighting over him is so white trash.

Both slander and libel are categories of defamation.
Slander is defamatory, false and malicious spoken statement or report,
Libel is defamatory, false and malicious written (or printed/published, as in photos).
The difficulty, legally, usually lies in proving the actual malice part.
However, it’s usually not (legally) defamatory if it is, in fact, true.
Which makes this whole case that much more interesting to watch.
The phone logs would only prove something if there weren’t return texts from Eddie and if the calls never went through to him, or only did for a minute.
Otherwise, how is that stalking? So much as further proof that they’re having an affair? I don’t know about you, but the men I know, wouldn’t talk on the phone for a minute longer than necessary with a woman they weren’t into/banging/want to etc.
No celeb goes to a Lakers game without expecting to be spotted.
All three suck.

Why would Leeann marry a gay husband in the first place, especially at the age of 19? And StellaPurdy, unfortunately, I don’t think pursuing a married man is the lowest one can go. Yes, it isn’t nice and is tacky, etc., but in the scheme of things, people commit such heinous crimes, a little adultery seems like a walk in the park in comparison.
Why is this website attacking Brandi and saying well she doesn’t have a paid spokesperson and had to go to US Weekly which you claim is B-list? Why would his wife need to pay a spokesperson? It can be very easily proven that LeAnn is stalking him and texting him. Part of the prove is LeAnn showing up at the Laker game and the other week at a store I believe where Eddie happened to be at.

LeAnn has been in Hollywood for too long and now believes she’s entitled to whatever she wants at any cost. You also had Tori Spelling publicly attacking the wife. You also had Kristy Swanson publicly attacking and I believe physically attacking the wife. These women are homewreckers and just sluts and tramps.
You also had LeAnn publicly attack Carrie Underwood when Carrie won a country music award instead of Faith Hill. Cameras caught faith angry and storming off back stage. Faith later said it was a joke. LeAnn basically admitted faith was angry by saying Faith has every right to be upset because Carrie hasn’t paid her dues yet in music. What dues did a 13-year-old LeAnn pay when she won her Grammy?? KLeAnn should never have been nominated and should never have won that Grammy at such a young age. But you never heard the others at the Grammys saying LeAnn shouldn’t have won because she hasn’t paid her dues. LeAnn is jealous of a younger, prettier, and more talented person is now taking over country while she can’t.
Eddie’s wife is far better looking than LeAnn and wasn’t the one who made this whole affair public. LeAnn can’t act and won’t be getting much work in Hollywood, she tried pop music and that diudn’t work out, and country music hasn’t really cared much for LeAnn in years & they also don’t care much for female whores either. So watch her career crash and burn soon and in five years wind up on a reality show crying “victim”.
It would be interesting to get all these wives together and find out where their heading with their cheating spouses: Eddie Ciprian, Balthazar Getty,
Sean Penn and Mel Gibson. Even better, a magazine interview on these men and their soon to be ex-wives would enlighten us as to why these men who have everything (fame, money, beautiful family) would toss thi life away: what happened to their marriage vows (for better or for worse?), committment, fidelity and morality? If these men without conscience can cheat why not their wives? If these are men who respect women, they should get a divorce first rather than humiliate these women who stood by them when they had nothing and bore their children. They have made a mockery of marriage and people who work on theirs and remain committed.

LeAnn Rimes says she’s a “classy lady” and would never hurt her husband or anyone else. This is the same person who just days ago sang “I jizz in my pants” on national television, who performed a topless sex act for a tv movie, who has been photographed in porn shops, who just months ago was making-out in restaurants with two different men, who openly sucked on Eddie Cibrian’s fingers at dinner, who committed adultery with another woman’s husband, who has let the media destroy her husband’s reputation without a word of defense on his behalf, who had her pimp setup a lovers rendezvous at a hotel and when the sex was done invited her pimp back for a room-service snack, who parades around LA with no makeup or bra wearing Eddie Cibrian’s grey tee shirt, who cancelled a concert in Jacksonville so she could stalk her lover at a b-ball game. Need I go on? Yes, about hurting people! Her adulterous affair has left Brandi Cibrian with a broken heart, broken trust, and two children wondering what is the difference between right and wrong. If Dean Sheremet is not hurt by all this, then he is gay and cares not one wit for LeAnn. They must have an open marriage which is a contradiction in terms to some of us. Was not Dean hurt when Rimes paraded him around to sell her book then stuck him back in the closet like so much costume jewelry and we have not seen him since? Rimes knows nothing about class or hurting people because she cares only about her own image. She left Nashville for LA where class has a whole different meaning. In Nashville when they talk about class they speak of Reba, Martina, Carrie, Taylor, and all the other truly classy ladies.
