Hours after Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their split, fans seized upon an obvious theory for their separation: it was all Jennifer Lawrence’s fault! J-Law and Pratt worked together something like two years ago, when they filmed Passengers. Passengers was released last Christmas and it was critically scorned, which was especially bad because it was billed as some grand space romance starring two of the most “likeable” and “relatable” celebrities out there. I didn’t see the film so I can’t speak to their on-screen chemistry, but they didn’t beep on my “Are They Boning?” radar while they promoted the film. Plus, the theory about an affair just didn’t make any sense in general, and seemed to be based solely on the fact that they were in a movie together. Well, stronger gossip cases have been made with less! Star Magazine claims that Pratt and J-Law might be starting something sometime soon. Sure.
Chris Pratt barely waited a week after splitting from Anna Faris to take off his wedding ring – and now the actor’s close pals are pushing him to make a move on Jennifer Lawrence.
“This is obviously a very delicate situation,” admits a source. “Jen is technically still dating Darren Aronofsky, but things between them don’t seem so good. This could be Chris’ chance!” As Star previously reported, there were whispers that Chris and Jen got a little too cozy while filming Passengers. “They both tried to pass it off as good acting, but I’m not sure anyone believed them, especially not Anna,” dishes the insider. “Chris’s friends are all placing bets on how long it will take before he’s with Jen.”

“Jen is technically still dating Darren Aronofsky, but things between them don’t seem so good…” If wishes were horses, etc. I would love it if J-Law and Aronofsky were petering out, but I don’t think that’s happening. They’ll stay together through the promotion of Mother! and probably beyond. And I just don’t see Jennifer dumping Darren “He Went To Harvard But Doesn’t Brag About It” Aronofsky for Chris “What About Uneducated White Dudes, Huh?” Pratt. That being said… it would not surprise me if Pratt moved on with another famous woman. I just don’t think J-Law is the one.

To be honest I think he would date her. No way she’s dating him though, not her type at all.
And in Passengers they had the chemistry of two cod fillets in a freezer…
He is trying to pump his profile by associating himself to one of the biggest movie stars right now. Isn’t that why he divorced, because Anna Faris wasn’t getting jobs and he was growing? But I doub’t J. Law would go for him.

My guess is he’ll hook up with some really hot VS model or something. Wish fulfillment from the former funny fat guy you, know? Date some attention starved Gigi Hadid lookalike (sans the rich daddy and connections).
Remember he wasn’t always the funny fat guy though, he started his career as a hearthrob in Everwood. Not sure how that impacts my read on things though.
I think he’ll end up with someone who has strong Christian faith. Not sure who that is in Hwood though, since I don’t think he’s Tebow’s type.

I was kind of shocked actually when I found that out too. I had 100% only known him as Andy, but he was good as a super douche, in Crash I think it was, as well.
Agree, he will settle down with a Christian. Probably a pretty no namer and have kids again when his career cools down. I see someone basic like Aaron Paul’s wife.
Pratt was only a fat guy for a short time. He talked about how he only got roles as “the douchebag” before his weight gain. I dont follow him closely so I dont know why he gained the weight, personal life or professional but he was more of a frat looking dude before than a chubby funny guy. I doubt he had problems with getting laid.

SO MUCH this. She makes really offbeat choices AND she’s dating someone she is clearly in awe of. When a young actress buys into the creepy but brilliant (?) older director who sees her as a muse, that relationship is not falling apart for the latest slice of Wonder Bread.

Part of it is the blind items that they were hooking up on set. Part of it is rumors he was cheating for a year and the fact that she has no issue Also hooking up on set. I think it’s a perfect storm. I don’t think it’s true but the pieces align for this type of story

They’ve always seemed very brother/sister to me. I actually just watched Passngers last night and there wasn’t much romantic chemistry there. Plus I think Jennifer a) has odd taste in men, b) seems pretty solid with Darren Aronofsky, and c) is savvy enough about publicity and her relationships to never go for it with Chris, especially right after his split.
YES! Brother/Sister was the vibe I got too. They really should be cast as such. It is easy for me to imagine them from the same family.
I think JLaw has guy friends, and so is probably friendly with him because why not and they have similar farty sense of humor. I don’t think he has female friends and so he reads it completely differently.

I thought it must have been hard for Goop to stand it when Chris Martin made JL his first post- divorce girl friend. She makes everyone else except maybe Streep look unaccomplished. Plus you know she’s just the ultimate cool-girl.

As soon as I heard about their separation, I felt like he wouldn’t waste much time getting with a younger hottie and going public with it. I’m not saying that’s a good or bad thing. It is what it is but I would not be shocked if that does happen in the near future.

They appeared together on Graham Norton to promote Passengers, so you can judge their real life chemistry there. I think they would be well matched on an “enjoying fart jokes” level and we know he likes goofball blondes. He’s no prize, but he would be preferable to Aronofsky (shudder).
They would be an amazing couple but she would never go for it. In a way, they’re in a similar situation. Both plucked from obscurity, both super famous. She seems damaged and seems to go for older creepy pretentious guys though. I get the impression she’s insecure about her intelligence.

On the surface they seem like a good fit—two charismatic blonde white people right? But other than that they are opposite. I think he likes things simple, including his women, where she likes things complicated and deeper. Plus I am certain they are political polar opposites.
I saw them on Graham Norton when they were promoting the movie, and all through out the interview it looked like she was undressing him with her eyes and was very flirty with him. It was annoying to watch.
