Demi Lovato was spotted at Disneyland over the weekend with a woman who looks like her twin. They were holding hands and looking so cute and happy together that I wanted to report on this. Not only do they have the same cute casual athletic style as seen in Disneyland, they look like sisters.

There’s speculation that this is Demi’s new girlfriend. We’ve only ever known Demi to date men. She had a longterm relationship with Wilmer Valderrama and was most recently seeing an MMA fighter. Demi hasn’t said outright that she’s bi or pan, but it’s thought that’s what her song “Cool For The Summer’s” lyrics mean. Whatever their relationship they look so sympatico and I love it. There’s something sweet about couples who look and dress alike, whether they’re just friends or romantic partners. I’m serious! I like seeing people who just look in sync.
Anyway the woman’s name is Lauren Abendini and she’s a DJ from LA. Page Six has the details.
Demi Lovato has sparked rumors of a new romance with Lauren Abedini, a Los Angeles-based DJ who goes by the stage name Kittens.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer was spotted holding hands with Abedini, as well as wrapping her arm around her, at Disneyland over the weekend, causing fans to speculate that they could be dating.
Neither Lovato’s nor Abedini’s reps immediately returned Page Six’s requests for comment.

Demi is one of my favorite pop stars, she can be extra and annoying at times, but she’s committed to her causes and puts out solid, fun hits. I was listening popular music to prepare for the Grammys a couple of weeks ago and I kept coming back to Demi and Fifth Harmony. Demi’s performance (and Fifth Harmony’s) ended up being a highlight that night. Also I won’t lie I was just listening to Demi this morning. Whatever these two have together, I want to see cute social media posts and some minor gushing. Not like Ariel Winter level gushing but somewhere in between Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips and Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz.

I thought of Kylie Jenner too…I think it’s that fake eyelash look, it makes everyone look like a cartoon/anime version of themselves. I do kid’s portraits as a side-job, and I really veer away from drawing in those kind of eyelashes, because they turn a portrait into a cartoon.

Honestly I’m so cynical when it comes to these celebs, especially the young ones. The young ones have mastered the art of media/fan manipulation via social media.
ETA That said, I’d much rather see this curvy, possibly LGBTQ Latina and mental health advocate in the spotlight over Tay Tay Swift and her basic b!tch blandness.
Early in her career during her innocent Disney days there were hacked photos involving her being intimate with another girl, and a few years later another lady- some random actress- bragged in an interview about how she had slept with Demi Lovato. So while I can’t really remember anything that Demi Lovato has said herself about her own sexuality, it’s likely that she’s not exclusively hetero. Attention-seeking people exist all up and down the Kinsey scale though. Straight people have no problem loving/ being attracted to people of the opposite sex while still using their coupledom for press and putting their relationships out there when they want to; bisexual, pansexual, and gay people are just as capable of doing the same. Unfortunately bi-erasure, misogyny, and a little bit of ageism are still problems both within the feminist movement and society in general- which is why there are cries of “She’s lying!” every time a female public figure either comes out or just expresses attraction and feelings for other women, or “OMG stop shoving your sex life in our faces!” in general when people discuss being anything other than straight.

You know that labelling bi or pan girls as attention seeking is feeding into a really gross and patriarchal narrative, right?

Demi has a beautiful, memorable voice. I also greatly admire her dedication to educating others about mental illness. I just went to youtube to re-watch her speech at the Democratic National Convention last year. “I stand here as proof that you can live a normal and empowered life with mental illness,” she said. I really appreciate her putting herself out there. She’s also a long-time supporter of gay rights. Does she know how to generate savvy PR? Yep. Could she possibly be dating her DJ friend? Maybe. What I hope for most is that she’ll keep herself healthy and out there as a role model for women with issues like eating disorders, bi-polar disorder and other challenges, so we can all see it’s possible to survive and thrive.

I’m glad she’s open about her mental illness and I like her new song (and her old, Hollywood records stuff, not her last album at all!) but she’s extremely irritating and problematic. She often says a lot of ignorant things then doesn’t understand why people call her out.
Plus she’s bffs with Iggy Azalea and supposedly her mum (and family) supports trump.
I sop hope they are dating, in my mind she has always been gay, just had to step away from Wilmer, now that she has and has sufficiently rebounded with some jacked up dude, go get you some lady loving Demi. We’ve been waiting for you 🙂
She drives me a bit mad. She can’t handle any form of criticism and is always having beef with someone. Nice voice, pretty girl, great she is open about mental health, but very annoying.
Aside from saying she has a mental illness she raised exactly zero awareness about it. I know no more about any of it (whatever it is that she says she has) now than I did before witnessing her constant fights with people online. Is it supposed to be one of the symptoms? Because, if it is, all kids these days seem to have it.
It all screams of when girls used to post the colour of their underwear on facebook “to raise awareness of cancer”. Like, good for you for wearing a bra, now what do I do with that info?
She annoys the piss out of me but I don’t dislike her enough to begrudge her happiness if that’s what’s happening here.
