One of Suri Cruise’s favorite places is the American Girl store in Los Angeles. In April, as mom Katie Holmes carried Princess Suri past the waiting paparazzi, Suri happily munched on a flip-flop, probably absent-mindedly thinking about how she, herself, is much like a doll for her parents. This weekend, Katie took Suri to the store again, but this time it looks like Katie was the one in desperate need of a delicious flip-flop to munch on. Yes, slender Katie looks like she’s not wearing any makeup, which isn’t a crime. But a lot of us manage to eschew makeup and not walk out of the house looking like a cranked-out zombie coming down off of the good stuff. Poor Katie:
While Katie Holmes is busy drumming up some new work for herself, she took a moment for some girly bonding with daughter Suri.
The adorable pair were spotted Friday night at Los Angeles’ The Grove, hitting up Suri-fave boutique American Girl Place.
Toting a blonde doll and powder blue mary janes, Suri and Holmes did a little shopping before getting whisked to their car via a rear entrance.

Let’s give Katie the benefit of the doubt and say those dark circles under her eyes aren’t Xenu-related. What could make Katie so exhausted? Perhaps it’s Katie’s rumored dance routine/appearance on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance?”. That’s right – it seems Katie Holmes has her heart (and her tap shoes) set on making a special appearance on the dance competition:

But up until now, what Katie was rehearsing for was a mystery. However, Life & Style has learned exclusively that Katie is in serious talks to make a special performance on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance!
“She’s met with judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe and everyone hopes she appears on this season or next season of the show,” a show insider tells Life & Style.

This report actually came out last week, but I didn’t think there was anything to it. Because, really, why is the world would Katie Holmes want to do a dance routine or an appearance on “So You Think You Can Dance?” It just seemed weird. But “weird” is the stock and trade of the Cruise-Holmes household, because this rumor seems to be true. Over the weekend, more sources confirmed that Katie is “rehearsing” something, and on Saturday Tom Cruise visited the private dance studio where Katie was practicing something, “under the watchful eye of Dance producer Nigel Lythgoe.” Ten bucks says it’s a tap routine – and that might end up being sort of cool. I love tap. I can’t do it or anything, but I love to watch a great tap dancer. Sigh. I miss Gregory Hines. Now I need a flip-flop to munch on.

Can’t that kid walk yet………
Wow. Her career is really taking off, no? SYTYCD is the ultimate goal of many a hopeful star…yeah, this is going nowhere, like Katie’s career since she became the Cruise-ombie.
These dance reality shows have B-list stars and has-beens. Why in the world would she want to do that? Except, of course, to finally admit to herself that she is a B-list star and a has-been who, really, no one would still be talking about except for her marriage to TC.
Someone needs to do an intervention.
I actully think the dark circles are natural. I’ve had dark circles my whole life, and there is nothing I can do about it, sometimes it’s a hereditary thing. It’s widely known that Tom forbids her to use makeup if he isn’t with her. He also was the one that pushed for her to cut her hair so short, she cried when the hair stylist came to cut it. That’s why she always looks so raggedy when he’s not around, but when she’s by his side, Good Lord, the girl can turn heads! That being said, thank her controlling husband for her career and her looks now.
The header picture is not nice, the first picture is nice, why use the worst picture? Why call her a zombie? She seems harmless enough so I don’t see why hate on her when she is living her life harmlessly.
I’ve often thought that Katie was pushing herself so hard to do so many things for the money. Yeah, she’s married to millions and she probably has some of her own. But if you ever want to break free and fight for custody, every little bit helps. Then again, I can’t stand Tom and I really feel for her so maybe I’m just projecting.
What I can not get is why some ‘celebrities” like Katie are thinking that someone wants to see them in ANYTHING!
I don’t give a damn if she walks on her hands, dance with lions or swim the ocean. She have the emotional expression of an egg plant and since Tom got crazy and married her I start hating him as well.
At least Nicole had real talent! This one is trying too hard and its obvious he is helping her get here and there.
I’m really curious to see how this turns out… if she sticks it out for life or if Tom files for divorce at 9.9 years of marriage like he did with Nicole…
There have been lots of blind items about Katie being bulimic…….I hope this isn’t true.
This is a wonderful lesson for young women who consider to be gold diggers and to be social climbers and piggyback a man’s success.
When you don’t marry for love but rather for more money and more fame and status- that’s what you get.

I am very fair and have horrible undereye circles (I dream of the day I can afford Hylexin, or however you spell it) but I do my best with a little concealer every day to avoid looking half-dead. Is it really true that Tom won’t let her wear makeup? Does Xenu forbid Benefit’s It Stick?
I loathe Crazy Cruise, but I feel nothing for KatieBot but pity. My God, look at her. With Batman Begins she had everything ahead of her; now she looks like a refugee. Run, Katie, Run!
Katie’s either waiting for Suri to grow up and then leave or waiting for the spaceship to come and pick up Crazy Ass Tom.
