Norman Reedus has actually got Christmas-gifting down to a simple process

New York Comic Con 2017 - The Walking Dead panel discussion

I actually love the idea of giving everyone in your life the same Christmas present. By that I mean, there’s always some weirdness about what to give work colleagues, friendly associates, cousins and assistants. You would obviously give personalized gifts to the people closest to you, but what do you get to the wide swath of people you like but aren’t super-close to? Give all of them the same gift, and just change that one gift every year. Norman Reedus has the right idea: one year, he gave everybody a Roomba. One year he gave everybody a documentary about jazz. And as it turns out, he’s a man of simple pleasures and he enjoys very simple gifts too.

Norman Reedus keeps it clean for Christmas. The actor, who gets pretty filthy in “The Walking Dead,” once gave everyone in his life Roombas ($300) in their stockings.

“I was obsessed with those vacuum cleaner robots,” Reedus, 48, told Page Six. “like, I used to have a couple of those going at the same time, and I gave everybody one of those. I thought they were like ‘The Jetsons.’”

Reedus also spread his love of jazz for the holidays.

“I gave everybody ‘Straight No Chaser,’ that documentary, one year,” he said of the film that chronicled the life of pianist and composer Thelonius Monk. “If you haven’t seen it, it’s really good.”

As for receiving, the motorcycle enthusiast is actually pretty easy to please.

“The best gift I’ve ever gotten … I like my little fidget spinner ($15),” he said. “I’m kind of into that right now.”

[From Page Six]

The DVD of a good documentary is a lovely work-colleague-gift. That’s pretty low on the “Christmas present shopping” stress level too. Who would have thought that Norman Reedus would have all the answers? As for his love of fidget spinners… I don’t get why those spinners are a thing or why everyone is crazy about them now, but that’s just because I don’t find relief with that particular method. For me, it’s the “fidget cube.” I need to press buttons and click things.

Also: I’m pretty sure Norman is still with Diane Kruger? But they’ve been low-key for months, and it would not surprise me at all if they were slowing down. I still find that whole situation to be so f–king shady.

Norman seems like such a nice guy, but I’ve been over Daryl for years now. I can barely look at him with the greasy chunks of dyed chocolate hair hanging in his face. It’s actually shocking to watch the early seasons and remember he’s a natural sandy blonde.

I love that there’s an as for petmugs on this page. Next Christmas, errrrryone is getting that. Thank you for the freedom to do that Norman.

Ha! I never click on ads, but this is so perfect. I thought it was just me since I bought two cat trees over the past week.
We have two new rescued black kittens, both boys. I never thought through how difficult they would be to capture on film…as soon as we get good pics, mugs!

  3. Lucy says:

Sure, why not? Practical, easy to do on a budget and everyone is happy. As for Norman, I enjoy him, he seems like a nice person. I love that he’s always posting pictures with other people (friends, co-stars) on Instagram. They all seem to love him and viceversa.

Never thought of buying everyone the same good gift, but I really like it! Good tip, Norman Reedus!

  5. Steph says:

I thought this was pretty common. I thought of giving my friends mugs or scarfs. I’m still deciding… Hummm

  6. Alexis says:

Okay now I need a focus cube and also watch ‘Straight, No Chaser’. Thanks Kaiser and Norman!

I made a big batch of fudge last night and cut it up into squares and gave it to all my coworkers this morning in pretty little packages. Now I want a piece so bad (and I have none for myself) that I am super tempted to ask one of them for a square. I didn’t think this through I guess…

I gift everyone the same homemade treats every year and they’re super popular but after five years of baking bulk xmas batches the smell of them makes me
      gag.

      • Eliza says:

I did the same. Every year baked 4 different big batches of cookies/ bars/ treats, and gave/mailed them out.

I took a break last year because move, and this year because I’m due any day now. But yeah make that many cookies you can’t eat any for about another year.

His comment about the roombas is very funny

  9. Truthful says:

He seriously should ditch the hair dye, it looks utterly ridiculous at this point or at least tone it two shades down…sigh

  10. Lilith says:

He should gift all his dates penicillin.

  11. AngieB says:

I would never ever ever pick him over Joshua Jackson. Just don’t see it.

    • Flipper says:

I do, to me Jackson looks like old man river.

    • Norman Bates' Mother says:

Being hot is not everything. Norman is aging badly, but I’ve heard only good things about his character. Minus that time he dated a very young aspiring model (but it was consensual and she was 20, so in the light of current events, it seems pretty mild), most people who’ve met him say that he’s a sweetheart, who treats others very well. He seems to have lots and lots of friends, who adore him and fans always say how nice and approachable he is (and despite his looks – they say he smells amazingly). Plus he loves animals and does charity work.

On the other hand – there were many rumors that Jackson was constantly cheating on her and before their break-up, there were paparazzi pictures of them having fights on the streets. Maybe they just weren’t such a good match or they used to be but got tired of each other and Norman seemed better suited at that point of Diane’s life.

      • Rosey says:

I’m glad that Norman seems like he is good to work with and good to his fans. I just hope that she doesn’t do the same things to Norman that she did to Josh.

It’s rumored that Josh and Diane had an open relationship and there were rumors about Diane doing the same thing. They were apart a lot and lived separately for many years. If they were having problems, Diane’s affair with Norman probably didn’t help the situation. Diane is with Norman now, so there probably was some sort of crossover for her.

  12. Donnell says:

I think Reedus’ relationship with Kruger is fake. She says they keep it low key for privacy. The problem is that both are publicity hounds, so the privacy excuse doesn’t work. Then, in yesterday’s modern living magazine interview she drags her ex, Joshua Jackson. She says that she was Incredibly disappointed in him and that she compromised too much to be with him. She said she thought she was working towards the same goals as Jackson and then she found out that she was not. Even though she was the one who was caught cheating, it is clear she is still mad that Joshua Jackson had enough of her getting caught with Norman Reedus and finally walked away. She is spoiled and thought he would tolerate her forever. All the appearances and Instagram exchanges with Norman and Diane seem staged and phony. Like that ridiculous face time she had with him for the camera that conveniently photographed the whole thing.

    • Flipper says:

Why do people paint Jackson in a good light? Who knows what’s going on behind closed doors. I think Diane Kruger knows better than you Donnel.

As a teacher, I tell you fidget spinners are the BANE of life right now.
