Alternate theory: Vanessa Trump left Don Jr. because he’s incredibly cheap

Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump

Last week, Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from treasonous hobgoblin Don Trump Jr. Page Six had a somewhat excellent preview of Vanessa’s grudges: their sources claimed that Vanessa thought Don had changed so much in the past few years, and she was feeling lonely because Don would often leave her to travel the world as a grifter. They have five kids together and perhaps she felt overwhelmed. We also learned that Don was sliding into another woman’s DMs, and that he was carrying on with Aubrey O’Day during Vanessa’s third pregnancy. But, according to a Page Six story, Vanessa’s main gripe was that Don is cheap?

Donald Trump Jr.’s wife, Vanessa, is divorcing him because he “treats her like a second-class citizen” and kept her on such a tight budget, she had to turn to her mother for money, friends say. Multiple sources claim Vanessa’s life at home isn’t as gilded or glamorous as one would expect. “He treats her like a second-class citizen.”

One friend said, “He gives her very little help and has been keeping her on a tight budget. She doesn’t live a lavish life and can very rarely pick up a check at dinner.”

A second source told Page Six, “Don Jr. was never generous with money. Vanessa has had to rely on her mother for financial help for her personal needs.”

However, Vanessa’s spokesperson strongly denies he treated her poorly. “All of these claims are simply not true. Don and Vanessa have tremendous respect for each other and always have. The notion that she has had to rely on her family for assistance is absolutely false and utterly ridiculous.”

The sources add that Don Jr. and Vanessa’s marital problems go back a long way — and friends say they were even having relationship problems before they married in 2005. Plus his father’s presidency has further exacerbated their issues.

“They were having problems before they even got married. People were telling her not to marry him before the wedding,” the source said. “She was interviewing divorce lawyers before [Trump’s presidency]. No one thought he’d win. He won and she decided to stay until his term is over. But she just couldn’t stand it anymore.”

A spokesperson for Vanessa also denied she had vowed to stay while President Donald Trump was in office. She said, “Decisions that she and Don have made on their marriage have nothing to do with politics.”

Plus, the friends add, social media is another factor in her frustration with Don Jr. “She hates that he posts stuff online, pictures of their kids and how he paints the picture of him as a perfect father, like he’s Mr. Dad. It’s not the truth. And when he’s not away on business trips, he’s hunting and fishing.”

[From Page Six]

For every claim that Page Six’s sources make, Vanessa’s rep chimes in with a very specific denial. It makes me wonder… considering Page Six broke the first stories, what are the chances that Vanessa (or her people) are leaking all of this sh-t to Page Six, then getting her rep to deny the very stories she planted? Celebrities do that all the f–king time. I guess traitor’s wives do that too. As for the central claim that Don is cheap and he kept his wife on a tight budget… I believe it. I think he’s cheap in every sense of the word. I think he and his entire family are all cheap, tacky and vulgar. Don’t marry for money, kids.

Of course he’s cheap when it comes to others. So is his stupid father. And just like his daddy, he doesn’t care about women. Women exists to satisfy his needs only. The moldy, rotten apple didn’t fall too far from the tree.

  2. JustJen says:

I totally believe it. I have a friend who divorced her husband because while they could afford a luxury home and all that goes with it, he critiqued every cent she spent, even on regular groceries. He was determined to retire at age 50, no matter the consequences. Then there’s another woman I know, just an acquaintance whose husband berates her for spending more than $25 at the grocery store.

      Wow, that’s sad.

    • Renee2 says:

When I was in undergrad over twenty years ago, my weekly budget for food was $30. Assuming that they are not poor, how can two people live on $25 a week for groceries???!!! That’s squeezing a nickel until the buffalo poops cheap!!!!

    • European says:

$25 is possible if you don’t eat fresh nor fresh veggies nor fresh fruits nor dairy. Cheap toast and cheap noodles and some sauce with it. It is plain idiotic because what you save on these cheapskate groceries bill is what you will pay to the doctors in later years.

  3. Nicole says:

He comes from a family that has zero taste and likes to screw the little guy out of payment. Of course they are cheap.

  4. Apple Hat says:

Um she was there for her own proposal wasn’t she? His cheapness shouldn’t have shocked her.

  5. Digital Unicorn says:

I think the being cheap also plays into the obvious facts that the Trumps really do NOT have any money – they live on credit that they can’t pay back. If you watch the Dirty Money ep about Cadet Bone Spurs it talks about when the banks threw money at him and that he went mental with it with one failed business enterprise after another (buying a football team, an airline etc..). It was obvious to me that Donnie 2 Scoops was not someone who could handle having money – if he has money he has to blow it on sh!t.

  6. PunkyMomma says:

Fredo is trying to please his father — everything’s a trophy — wife, dead aminal. “See Dad, I’m just like you …”

  7. Argonaut says:

sounds just like how Sr treated his second wife. he learned it from daddy.

  8. Ruyana says:

That could all be true, and it wouldn’t surprise me, but it still wouldn’t explain why she chose to hire a criminal defense attorney in addition to her divorce attorney.

  9. WendyNerd says:

I read something about him ordering no drink at a Taco Bell and then continually using a small ‘sample’ cup to fill it with lemonade, so this doesn’t surprise me.

  10. Lightpurple says:

Glad someone in that family is concerned about exploitation of the kids. Junior, Eric & Nagini constantly post pictures of the kids to distract from news of their misdeeds.

If you want a good laugh, check out the Twitter responses to Nagini’s Science Barbie tweet yesterday

  11. minx says:

I can believe it, but why have 5 kids then?

    • qtpi says:

I came to the comments for this exactly – why have 5 kids with him?!

    • European says:

Well, Donny Jr cheated when his wife was pregnant with their 3rd child. So perhaps child number 4 was an attempt at making the marriage work and number 5 might be just a plain old oopsie baby – Donny Jr isn’t the sharpest whatever in the whatever.

Child No. 5 is the only girl so I guess Donny Jr wanted at least one daugther just like his creepy daddy whose daughter gave him a lap dance …. ughhh

She’s getting out while she get alimony and child support. But she’s a fool to think she won’t be subject to asset seizure, too. Fruit of the poisonous tree.

    • holly hobby says:

Yep when Uncle Sam comes he will want it all. Talk to the wives of those hubbies that founded those big tax shelters in the 1980s. They had to all cough it up. In the eyes of the IRS there is no such thing as an “innocent spouse.” That’s the defense that’s mainly put up there for these cases.

    • European says:

Well, I agree that the tax office should get what they are owed.

But how does “tax haven” and “shady tax schemes” work out if your father in law is the POTUS?

Allegedly Trump has two dozen law suits filed against him or his companies in several countries of the USA. All those law suits are about shady business dealings and shady tax dealings. But so far ….
      Honestly I don’t know.

      • jwoolman says:

Trump has had at least 3500 law suits against him, the number is under 4000 but not sure by how much. I don’t know how many are active right now. He gets sued by vendors and contractors a lot because they do the work, then he claims it’s unsatisfactory and refuses to pay. Sometimes he settles for a small fraction of the bill. The small businesses he cheats this way don’t have the resources to keep going to court, while he has lawyers on retainer and can outlast them. Some small businesses have gone bankrupt because of this. In New York, it’s said that nobody works for him twice.

His father had to repeatedly give him millions of dollars because he kept making such terrible business decisions. Hence the six or seven bankruptcies. After his father developed Alzheimer’s, Trump convinced his father to leave his dead older brother’s family out of the will (shafting a sick child in the process), maximizing his share when his father died. But he blew through that money fast, and US banks refused to loan him any more money. That’s when he started getting loans from the Bank of China and that shifty branch of Deutschland Bank that has been under investigation. I’m sure his Russian friends also loaned him a lot of money at that point. In interviews between 2010 and 2013, his sons Don Jr and Eric freely said that the Russians were major investors in their projects. Eric told someone writing for a golf magazine that the reason they were building so many golf courses when others could not (the market was bad for that) was because they could get all the funding they wanted from Russians.

Many of Trump’s enterprises are not actually profitable but he sells real estate to Russian nationals for two or three times the market value. This is a sign of money laundering. My suspicion is that money laundering has been a major source of his income for years. The other projects just provide the required legitimate front. Money laundering might have been the way Putin funneled money into the Trump campaign, although it seems as though a Russian donor to the NRA plus at least one Russian-born American were also conduits. My guess is that this was the activity mentioned or hinted at in phone conversations with certain Russians that made US intelligence and Obama’s national security adviser very interested in the Americans at the other end of the phone line.

It isn’t hard to find out all this if you’re in the US, so I don’t understand why his supporters believed his claims that he is a great businessman. He’s not great at business, he’s just willing to cheat people and work with criminals and launder their money. He doesn’t have to be smart at business for that- the crooks he works with do all the thinking for him and just tell him what to do.

  13. Sherry says:

Didn’t his father say he would never buy Ivana “good jewelry or art” because he didn’t want her to have negotiable assets? Sounds like DJT Jr. learned at his father’s knee. Cheap.

  14. Jay (the Canadian one) says:

I’m still convinced this divorce is just a protect-the-assets move as he faces potential legal challenges and all these stories are just there to seed some alternate narrative to help them deny the obvious.

  15. Rhys says:

While I believe he is cheap, I don’t believe any of these rumors are the reason they are divorcing. They are trying to protect whatever assets they have before everything hits the fan.

  16. still_sarah says:

I read the headline and thought “Oh honey. You don’t have to give us a reason. WE.UNDERSTAND.

  17. European says:

Preparation for divorce negotiations. Donny Jr. must give her more money in the impending divorce in order to prove he isn’t cheap.

They have five children and Donny Jr. likes to travel to kill big game and likes to travel to do politics with big game players. Likely she will get the children and he will get extensive visitation rights and she will get a lot in child support and alimony.

    😉

Best time to divorce: Donny Jr and the whole Trump clan still care enough about their image to do a civilised divorce.
