Don Trump Jr. got a license to carry concealed weapons to celebrate his divorce

What disturbs you the most about Eric Trump and Don Trump Jr.? Is it the fact that they’re frighteningly stupid and yet have so much power? Is it the fact that they are ridiculously sleazy? Or is it the fact that they are gun nuts on top of everything else? Don Trump Jr. in particular is a big hunter and he loves guns. I don’t even know how many guns he owns, but I’m sure it’s enough to arm a small guerrilla movement in South America. And here’s good news for all of us, and for his estranged wife: just as his wife Vanessa served him with divorce papers, Don got a license to carry concealed in Pennsylvania.

Despite nationwide marches for gun control, divorcing Donald Trump Jr. is doubling down on firearms. Avid hunter Don Jr. — whom sources say has lobbied his father, President Donald Trump, to ignore calls for gun control — has celebrated becoming a single man by getting a permit to carry a concealed gun in Pennsylvania, we’re told. Sources say that Don Jr. recently applied for a permit to carry a concealed weapon in Lackawanna County.

It is not clear why he applied in Pennsylvania, but just before his wife, Vanessa Trump, filed for divorce, Don Jr. was issued the permit, which lasts for five years and is accepted in many other states across America, but not in New York.

A source told us, “It isn’t clear why Don Jr. applied for a permit in Pennsylvania. But there is speculation that he didn’t do it in New York because you have to supply financials.”

NYPD guidelines for handgun-license applicants state that a New York state tax return may be required as part of the paperwork. And we all know how much the Trumps don’t enjoy sharing their tax returns.

Firearm fan Don Jr. has also been lobbying his dad against introducing gun-control legislation, in particular not to cave in to calls for bans on assault weapons, even as they watched TV coverage of devastated Parkland students demanding action from the president.

Don Jr., whose favorite pastime is killing big game and posing for pictures with the carcasses, and his brother Eric last year bought a 171-acre hunting preserve in upstate New York that they use as their private shooting range for the use of their long-range weapons. Residents of the tranquil hamlet of Wingdale, NY, have told the Associated Press that the area “sounds like a war zone” on weekends because of the sound of rifle fire from a wooden tower and noisy explosions. A rep for Don Jr. didn’t respond to calls and e-mails.

Such bigly boys, playing with their bigly guns and shooting bigly animals. Such bigly hunters, so bigly masculine, so bigly tough. And now Don will be locked and loaded every day, as he goes through his life. There should be some kind of law that no man should be able to get a gun permit or a license to carry concealed for a year after being served with divorce papers. Also: this serves as a f–ked up warning for Robert Mueller’s people too: if and when you go to arrest Don Jr, he’ll be armed. So you better bring SWAT in case his arrest turns into a shootout.

Should have bought himself a chin instead.

  2. Anna says:

    Asshole.

    • still_sarah says:

I’m okay with him having a concealed carry permit but only as long as he restricts his target shooting to family members – really close family members. 🙂

  3. kNY says:

He is exactly the kind of idiot to leave his gun out when his kids are around.

  4. RBC says:

Hopefully in his next life he comes back as an ant and an elephant decides to take a massive “number two” on his head.
Orange prison jumpsuit will look great with his complexion.

  5. lightpurple says:

Gun = Compensation for tiny, flaccid penis.

    • Esmom says:

Exactly. He is the poster boy for that theory.

I also think he’s gotten in deeper, ideologically, with the deplorables. Concealed carry checks one of their boxes and makes him feel like a bigly boy.

      • lucy2 says:

He must be making money off them too, I don’t think any of these scumbags does anything without making something off of it.
He’s also an insecure a-hole with major daddy issues, so the attention/adoration he gets from them is probably an attempt to fill that hole in his life. Pathetic.

    • Ama says:

Lightpurple! You literally made me LOL 🙂

  6. Chef Grace says:

    The epitome of ignorance.
I bet he has a wee six shooter he wears in a holster and practices drawing in front of a full length mirror.
Your mental pic for the day. 😉

  7. Emily says:

Ugh. Why is it still legal to buy a gun during a divorce? It’s like letting someone drive drunk. This whole “bad guys will get guns anyways” argument I keep hearing completely ignores the fact that domestic violence and school shootings are often done by (white men) people with registered guns.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I was thinking about the various gun laws and changes that need to be made.

One of the things I’d like to know more about is gun purchases & gun violence around divorces and separation. So many women are killed by intimate partners, and I wonder if laws could help.

I’m haunted by the fact that in the US, a pregnant woman’s #1 cause of death is homicide. I wonder what it is for women who file divorce papers.

      • Kitten says:

Also, women of color are two and a half times more likely to die by gun violence than white women. 78% of women of color who are murdered are murdered by a gun.

Domestic violence and gun ownership is something that simply doesn’t get talked about enough, but it bears repeating that it is virtually a public health crisis for women of color.

Also an epidemic: police violence against WoC and how our society routinely ignores it.
        SAY.
        HER.
        NAME.
WoC are also more likely to be abused, raped, exploited, arrested, brutalized, or murdered at the hands of law enforcement.

But yeah, I’m happy you’re bringing up DV and gun ownership because like suicide, it is a facet of the collective gun control conversation that is too often ignored.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Good points, Kitten. Those are chilling numbers.
I would also like to learn more about legal/police response to domestic violence reports, and how it impacts WOC. Do their claims get pushed aside/ignored at a higher rate? Do they report at a lower rate, and if so, how can we make it easier for this community to report and get protections? If they are being victimized by a police force, how can they be expected to go to that police force when they are being abused and endangered at home?

There are so many wrongs that need to be righted, but the work has to be done.

      • Trashaddict says:

Thank you Kitten. That was a sobering and eye-opening read. Sometimes one isn’t aware of what one doesn’t know but once you see it, it’s suddenly so obvious.
I recognized the story of Sandra Bland, but there are too many stories there like hers, which basically amounted to appalling executions. I hope their families are able to get justice ultimately, that the perpetrators are held accountable, and that this can be stopped.

  8. lisa says:

omg why do you need or why can you get a license in a state where you dont live? this is ridiculous and scary.

  9. Neelyo says:

This just makes me think he’s going to be one of those idiots who think they’re going to be gangsta and end up shooting themselves. One can hope.

    • Kelly says:

He’ll pull a Plaxico Burress and accidentally shoot himself in the foot, maybe while being arrested.

  10. OriginalLala says:

“Don Jr., whose favorite pastime is killing big game and posing for pictures with the carcasses”

There is literally NOTHING redeeming about these pieces of human garbage. When will the world be rid of them?

    • Shappalled says:

I was wondering the same thing myself. Has there been any word on when the Mueller investigation is going to come to a head? It feels like it’s dragging on forever.

      • Lady D says:

Rumour has it the Nixon firing took two years. Mueller is approximately one year in, so hopefully not much longer. I guess it also depends on the amount of crimes committed.

  11. What’s next says:

Maybe, this is why his wife hired a criminal attorney on her divorce team. She has realized that a few screws are loose and she is worried for her and the children’s safety.

  12. Kitty says:

Well let’s hope that the only one he hurts is himself

  13. xdanix says:

Genuinely surprised, with this guy’s attitude, that he didn’t already have one.

    • jwoolman says:

Daddy apparently does (or did). Donald Sr claimed that he had a permit for concealed carry in New York. Can’t imagine him forking over financial details, but maybe they changed the rules and renewal is easier.

  14. grabbyhands says:

And Trumpets everywhere jerked themselves off in orgiastic glee thinking of him carrying around his concealed weapon, probably fantasizing about him shooting his soon to be ex-wife, minorities and large game animals.

  15. Ms. Lib says:

In my world a recent divorce would be a fail on a background check.

    • lucy2 says:

He seems suspicious and prone to violence – we’re supposed to report that, right?

    • hogtowngooner says:

It really should. Shortly after my uncle graduated high school in the late 60s, he wanted to be a police officer and applied the LAPD academy. He and his wife were teen parents and were in the process of divorcing (as far as I know, amicably) and ironing out custody of their young son. For that reason alone, his application was turned down. The LAPD were too concerned he might possibly use his issued gun on his estranged spouse. I don’t know if that rule still exists, but it definitely should.

  16. Who ARE These People? says:

Seems like Trump men always have daddy issues with a lot of anger.

As for why Pennsylvania … he’s going to shoot that chocolate Easter Bunny that humiliated him with an interview.

  17. Eric says:

He just might accidentally put a hole near his crotch about the size of his mouth and be left with no chin, no brain, and no junk.

    A beautiful trifecta!

If it’s what you say it is, I love it!

  18. Ankhel says:

Explosions? Why would the locals hear explosions when the trumpinos are out hunting? Please don’t tell me they lob explosives at animals, or set explosive traps.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

My guess is that their hunting rifles are so powerful that each shot sounds like a small explosion.

      They’re really sick.

    • Lorelei says:

And they shoot from a “wooden tower?!” They’re so cowardly they need to make sure they’re up high, away from their prey and safe? Ugh I hate these people so much I can’t even put it into words.

    • Christin says:

High powered means extra loud. All it takes is one in a rural area to disrupt the peace and quiet.

There is someone at least a mile from where I live who enjoys doing this on Sunday afternoons. I cannot imagine how loud it is for those in closer proximity.

Nearly 200 acres is not that isolated, so I have no doubt neighbors think they’re in a war zone when dumb and dumber show up.

  19. tw says:

How do their tiny fingers pull the triggers? Vanessa, girl, tell us what we already know – the Trump boys ain’t exactly packing where it counts.

    • still_sarah says:

I used to work with abused women and the most dangerous time for them is when they LEAVE their partner. That he is doing this as he gets divorced is a big concern to me.

  20. Who ARE These People? says:

He applied for the permit in Scranton, so what’s he going to do, get a hunting “cottage” there? Lock it up there, drive out for the weekend?
Maybe he feels he’ll need it for self-protection. Lord knows enough people hate him.

  21. Q T Hush says:

Hopefully another “accident” will occur while Jr. cleans his loaded gun, ending our misery knowing what horrible person he was.

  22. lower-case deb says:

if i were in the middle of a divorce or just fredh off a divorce and i heard my ex getting a license and or a gun, i’d quickly apply for a restraining order. no two ways about it.

    • LK says:

But he would hire someone to do that.

      • lower-case deb says:

        that’s true… should’ve thought of that…
he wouldn’t have the balls… not that he has to begin with. i wonder sometimes if he literally hasn’t.

  23. Hildog says:

Aren’t we (the taxpayers) paying for 24-hour armed security AKA secret service for this twit already? A chin definitely would have been a better investment!

  24. Beatrix says:

That’s interesting, I wonder why NY State requires financial information with gun permit applications. Maybe to gauge the applicant’s state of mind as relevant to decision-making?

    • Veronica says:

It’s likely intended more as one more barrier to getting the firearm in the first place. NY has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country.

      • Beatrix says:

That makes sense. Right, I live in NYC and sincerely appreciate our right restrictions. I did, however, serve on a grand jury not that long ago and almost all the cases I heard were gun-related, which was deflating. Seems we get a lot of guns smuggled in from out of state. The problem is so complex. I wish we’d start with tighter federal restrictions at least…

  25. Veronica says:

From the tiny cutout picture you used from this article, I thought the microphone was actually ill-conceived attempt at a goatee and had the emotionally confusing experience of being relieved when I saw DTJ’s face.

  26. adastraperaspera says:

Is it wrong of me to be suspicious about the motivations for this divorce? He’s been a jerk all along. The publicity isn’t particularly helpful. She has to know too much, so he’d most likely want to placate her and keep her close? There was also that strange case of the envelope of white powder that she opened recently (that some thought was a ruse to gain sympathy and pretend leftists are after them). And it always looked like he was very happy in pics with his wife and kids… I just wonder if the divorce is being done so she can become independent and then hide money for them that may be in danger of being forfeited when he’s found guilty of committing so many crimes.

  27. Bev says:

Maybe he will do the world a favor and use his bigly concealed weapon to off himself.

  28. Don Jr. Get’s a licence to carry a gun to celebrate his divorce? WTF!!! What a d*****bag!
