The separation has ‘been hard’ for Channing Tatum, it’s ‘a big adjustment for him’

Here are some photos of Channing Tatum this week in Las Vegas, for the big CinemaCon event. That’s where studios do big exhibitions for theater-owners, journalists and assorted fans for their upcoming movies. Channing was there to promote the animated film Smallfoot, where he does voice work alongside Zendaya, Common and more. This was the first “carpet” he’s walked since he and Jenna Dewan announced their separation, a separation which is increasingly looking like Jenna wanted more than Channing. That’s just the vibe I’m getting – Jenna was done, Jenna had enough, Jenna told him to move out. So is it a surprise that People Magazine is running a very sympathetic article about Channing?

Channing Tatum is having a tough time adjusting to his split with ex Jenna Dewan, sources say.

The breakup has “been hard for Channing,” a source close to the couple, both 37, tells PEOPLE. “He always had Jenna and their family to go home to, so having their separation be ‘official’ now has been a big adjustment for him.”

As for Dewan, a second source says, “Jenna has a super-packed schedule and a ton of girlfriends to lean on and spend time with. Her life isn’t really changing … if anything, she’s just busier.”

Both Dewan and Tatum have been spotted out and about without their wedding rings since jointly announcing their split on April 2. Days after news of their breakup was made public, Dewan went back to shooting her upcoming TV show Mixtape.

This past weekend, Tatum stepped out for the Honda Indy Grand Prix on Sunday, attending his first public event since he and Dewan announced their split. The 37-year-old actor attended the event in Birmingham, Alabama, where he served as the grand marshal and hung out with Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Another source close to Dewan says, “Jenna is great. She seems very energetic and excited about her life. It was very difficult for her to announce the separation. She didn’t want it to happen for a long time.”

Having thought about this for a while and given myself time to process it, I think Channing wanted Jenna to be “the supportive spouse,” the woman behind the scenes to an increasingly powerful player in Hollywood. I don’t think that’s what Jenna wanted for her life. She was tired of how busy he was and how he was always working and traveling for work and that power-couple format just wasn’t for her. And so she was the one to pull the plug. Will this get messy? I don’t know. I think Channing might be messy for a year or so and then he’ll get it together and he’ll settle down with someone who does want to be a “supportive wife.”

I agree wholeheartedly. I think Jenna pulled the plug. Men usually don’t. And you totally called it; he will be remarried in a couple of years, probably to someone younger who is okay with being the third or fourth most important thing in his life. (After his child and career, etc)

It is really hard when you cheat on your spouse repeatedly (if rumors are true) and then she ditches your ass for it. So hard.

IKR! Put that in the headline People. He probably getting banged six ways to Sunday.

    • BlueSky says:

Agreed! I don’t think it’s shes tired of being at home and being a supportive spouse. I think she got tired of his (alleged) cheating. There are waaay too many BI out there about his chronic cheating.

Maybe there isnt a villain but two people who grew apart.
This happens too!! Whatever reasons they both had I am sure were valid, but in the end, they decided to get divorced. Why must we make up stories of who decided what and who was tired of being behind the scenes? What evidence do we have that he wanted her to be a supporting wife?
I like Jenna, but I think she hasnt been lucky in her career moves, except maybe world of dance. But i cannot recall any movies or shows where she seemed to have a chance! Is this supposed to be the husbands fault?
That being said i understand how a successful career of one and the lackluster career of the other in the same field can put a strain on the relationship. And if one has alcohol issues… yeah. Bad.
It’s just sad as I really liked them together.

I cannot understand how people find this handsome. and he is not even a good actor, lucky man,

    • Yup, Me says:

But the way he clenches his jaw in movies while he gazes at his co-stars lets us know that he’s a sensitive man with a lot of feelings but he’s holding them back until he can find the right person to share them with!

    • Olenna says:

Several years ago, someone on CB said he looked “unfinished”. I couldn’t agree more with that description. Entertainment-wise, the only thing he’s seems talented in is dancing, and even that’s limited to one style.

I didn’t read the article past this line: “He always had Jenna and their family to go home to”

This is it. This is bingo right here. This is why so many “family” men cheat but don’t divorce. People often don’t realize the emotional component of what it means to have a family to go home to. This is an institution that serves a bigger function than just something that happens when two people fall in love and decide to be together. It’s also why people like Channing Tatum who, if the cheating rumours are true, is able to so effectively compartmentalize their flings vs their family and don’t understand why their wives don’t want to be with them when they bring absolutely NOTHING to the table in terms of emotional labour. They only take take take–take the emotional stability their family provides, the work their wives do in order to keep it all going, and don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want to be with a person who’s like that.

Anyway, all this to say–f*** him. If this article is true, then it doesn’t portray him in a sympathetic light at all. It just shows him for the leech that he is. I don’t feel sorry for him that this separation is rough. It SHOULD be. I hope it is.

He is not cute to me. At all

    • Marley31 says:

I may be the only one who thinks Channing Tatum is cute. Magic Mike is what did it for me. And he can strip for me any day☺ I thought he and Jenna made a cute couple and whatever happened I just hope there able to be civil with one another if anything and that they both will be alright because divorce is hard.
