Camille Cosby made a statement about her husband & it is completely bonkers

I mean, we already knew that Camille Cosby was and is bonkers, right? We established that long ago. It’s been established fact for so long, no one really questions it anymore. We just shrug and accept that Camille Cosby is ride-or-die for her rapist husband. We accept that she’s 100% complicit. We accept that she’s done her part to enable her husband’s rapes and silence and shame and attack his victims. So now that rapist Bill Cosby has been found guilty on three felony counts of sexual assault, Camille Cosby has issued a statement. And it is just as bonkers as you would imagine – you can read the full piece here. Here’s part of it, wherein she compares her rapist husband to Emmett Till. Nope.

The overall media, with their frenzied, relentless demonization of him and unquestioning acceptance of accusers’ allegations without any attendant proof, have superseded the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, which guarantee due process and equal protection, and thereby eliminated the possibility of a fair trial and unbiased jury. Bill Cosby was labelled as guilty because the media and accusers said so… period.

And the media ensured the dissemination of that propaganda by establishing barricades preventing the dissemination of the truth in violation of the protections of the First Amendment. Are the media now the people’s judges and juries? Since when are all accusers truthful? History disproves that…for example, Emmett Till’s accuser immediately comes to mind. In 1955, she testified before a jury of white men in a Mississippi courtroom that a 14-year-old African American boy had sexually assaulted her, only to later admit several decades later in 2008 that her testimony was false. A more recent example is the case of Darryl Hunt, an African American who in 1984 was wrongfully convicted for the rape and murder of a white woman, only to have DNA evidence establish in 1994 that he did not commit the crime. Nonetheless he was held in prison until 2004, serving almost twenty years behind bars, until the true rapist confessed to the crimes.

These are just two of many tragic instances of our justice system utterly and routinely failing to protect African Americans falsely accused in so-called courts of law and the entirely unfair court of public opinion. In the case of Bill Cosby, unproven accusations evolved into lynch mobs, who publicly and privately coerced cancellations of Bill Cosby’s scheduled performances; syndications of “The Cosby Show”; rescissions of honorary degrees and a vindictive attempt to close an exhibition of our collection of African American art in the Smithsonian Museum of African Art. Although the Smithsonian’s hierarchy did not capitulate, a disclaimer was posted on the exterior of that Museum. And all of that occurred before the trial even started.

[From Deadline]

Camille goes on to call Andrea Constand a liar who lied under the oath and lied to get money from Cosby, regardless of the fact that the jury was able to hear the deposition from Bill Cosby where he discussed drugging women without their consent so he could sexually assault them. Camille also wants “a criminal investigation of that district attorney and his cohorts. This is a homogeneous group of exploitive and corrupt people, whose primary purpose is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby’s life.” She ends this screed by calling the entire trial and retrial “mob justice, not real justice. This tragedy must be undone not just for Bill Cosby, but for the country.” There’s so much Trumpism here, isn’t there? When Trump has a bad day, he says it’s a “bad day for the country.” When Bill Cosby is found guilty, it’s an INJUSTICE for all of America. Camille… just stop. Please.

  1. queenE says:

They are both garbage…him for being a rapist and her for being an accomplice after the fact

    • Jessie says:

He probably drugged Camille too, long ago when she was a strait laced college girl which makes her extra garbage for defending him. She KNOWS

      • MerrymerrymonthofMay says:

THIS! I would not be at all surprised if she was one of his victims in the early days.

    • whatWHAT? says:

she was an accomplice DURING the fact.

she would quietly slip away after Cosby drugged each victim and leave them alone.

      she can go F herself.

ETA: and she’s yet ANOTHER person who doesn’t understand what the first amendment is, and what it protects. sorry hun, he got his story out there…it’s just that people believed the 50 or so women over his lame-ass excuses.

and he got a fair trial; even one of the jurors said it was COSBY’S OWN WORDS that convinced the dude he was guilty.

      • queenE says:

I believe that she knew before during and after…but i know some people will jump on the ‘blame the wife’ shaming.
I truly think she knew everything and the fact that she hasn’t been charged in some way…is the real injustice

      • whatWHAT? says:

and people aren’t even “blaming” her, just saying that she’s not completely innocent in the whole thing and shouldn’t be defending him.

she should shut up and go away and no one would be saying bupkus about her.

      • FLORC says:

I believe this. By their own admissions before we k e the drugging details cam said she was there. The victims said she was there. She knew.

      • jwoolman says:

We don’t know that she knew exactly what he was up to. She may have simply thought he was a chronic cheater and having consensual affairs, even right there in their own house with her upstairs, and had made her peace with that. They shared a life and children. He didn’t need her help to do what he did and there is no reason to believe she knew he was drugging the women.

She is lashing out at everybody because the uneasy equilibrium between her and her husband has been shaken in a vulnerable time of her life. She had very likely felt they were past that chapter simply because he wasn’t physically able to continue. Now it’s all exploded. Of course she doesn’t believe the charges and tries to see it as an unwarranted attack on her husband. She saw him for years as just a cheater who always came back to her. I wouldn’t expect her to change that thinking at this point very easily.

This is all his fault, not her fault. His crimes finally caught up with him.

      • Carrie1 says:

Ugh. I wish she wasn’t give so much space for so many words. Couldn’t read it much. She’s creepy too.

    • Mmmo says:

To quote Grey’s Anatomy… “The Nile. It’s not just a river in Egypt, it’s a freaking ocean.”

    • Sabrine says:

She is no better than him and why would anyone even bother to listen to this fool. She knows full well he’s guilty but she likes her nice, pampered life and doesn’t want to do anything that would change it in any way.

    • BlueSky says:

She’s enjoyed all the privilege and money and prestige that came with being married to him, now that’s all gone. She’s just lashing out, but she’s lashing out at the wrong person. Would she want someone calling one of her daughters a liar?

    • Snappyfish says:

Attendant proof? How about his own admission in deposition and the simple fact he paid his victim?

She is complicit & to compare him to Emmett Till was reprehensible. She is damaged goods

  2. Veronica S. says:

Put down the thesaurus and take a Xanax, Camille. I’m sorry you’re having to come to terms with the fact that you’ve been f*cking a monster for the past 30+ years of your life, but ain’t nobody throwing sympathy your way. Plenty of his victims were African American women the system failed to protect.

    • Natalia says:

She hasn’t been f-ing him for 30+ years! She was complicit in all that crap so she wouldn’t have to deal with him!

    • darkladi says:

I was gonna comment but your statement said it all. Well done

    • Pandy says:

Xanax? Pop one of Bill’s Qualuudes! Bet he still has a bottle or two lying around ….

  3. Sayrah says:

    Wow. She went there huh?

    • Carmen says:

She’s comparing the conviction of her philandering rapist dog of a husband to the torture and murder of an innocent child. Any respect I had for that woman went right out the window.

  4. Mimi says:

What she’s doing here is as horrible as what Kanye did. She is bastardizing the tragic history of Blacks in America to promote her and her husband’s self-interests. The damage they are doing to our community with their self-aggrandizing behavior is like a punch to the stomach.

    • Tulip Garden says:

I do not think that they are damaging anyone but themselves. No two people of any race are representative of that entire race. While what they are doing is disgusting, any sane person recognizes it for the deflection it is.

      • LittlefishMom says:

Exactly. Their behavior reflects on them and then only. To generalize and judge an entire race is ridiculous. They are both unhinged. Now she will be alone to contemplate her choices and words.

    • Carmen says:

I’m black and I am damned if Kanye or the Cosbys represent me.

  5. Annabelle says:

She’s worse off than I thought she was. I knew she was feeling traumatised because she lost her ability to bludgeon people over the head with her status as Mrs. Dr. Bill Cosby. It must really suck to not be worshipped like Anubis, with tall eunuchs in loincloths fanning her with palm leaves as she sips lemon soda. If she wrote that statement herself, she is suffering narcissistic injury and therefore expressing rage or she is on medication for anxiety/depression and has gone psycho.

    • Mmmo says:

This is a very apt take on this I think. Her whole identity is tied to being Mrs Bill Cosby. If he goes down, she goes down with him so she’s lashing out to protect her status. She’d rather live in denial and think he (and through that, she as well) is the most amazing person Hollywood has seen than stand up for the truth and lose her identity and just be a rapist’s deluded wife. Her self-esteem must be non-existent judging by how desperately she’s grasping onto the story she created in her head. If she loses this, she has nothing.

    • India Rose says:

I’m with you except for the part about going psycho from anxiety/depression medication. That would be an extremely rare side effect. We don’t want to discourage people from seeking treatment for depression and anxiety. I’ve been on several meds trying to find the correct ones to treat my mood disorders – depression, anxiety and PTSD – and I’ve never gone “psycho”.

I can totally see this as a narcissistic injury, though. She may even have a personality disorder. So frustrating and disappointing to read her weak-ass defense.

Also: she shouldn’t use the word dissemination twice in the same sentence and muddle her point. Use clear, plain language, Mrs. Cosby. You’re defending a monster.

      In the words of The Atlantic article by Jia Tolentino,”this was, by now, a he-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she-said situation. For all the fears that the #MeToo moment will be marked by overreach, the fact remains that a single instance of justice feels more surprising than several decades of serial rape.”

  6. Muprhy says:

This is the same garbage Sandusky’s wife came out with.

    • brutalethyl says:

OMG you’re absolutely correct. I’d forgotten about her defending the child rapist. And wasn’t she upstairs while her creep of a husband was raping kids? She and Camille are like twins. Disgusting, lying, enabling twins.

    • Chaine says:

This response by a wife is not uncommon. I’ve seen it in my own experience, someone I knew growing up accused the mom’s boyfriend of molesting them. The mom not only refused to believe them, but kicked HER OWN KID out of the house.

  7. Clare says:

She is a vile enabler and it really fing frustrates me that even after her POS husband goes to prison (which I sure as F hope he does), she will continue to live of the wealth he created while abusing multiple women. UGH

  8. minx says:

She had a very comfortable life protecting this rapist, while his victims suffered. She can shove her high-handed comments.

  9. kate says:

    rape enabling bitch is cray.

  10. Chrissy says:

I have to wonder if this woman is not of sound mind or been threatened or coherced by the rapist to spew this trash. She comes across as being cut off from reality and inappropriate like with the smiling in the above photo. What does she have to be happy about? Whether she would think so or not, she lived with this rapist and enabled his behaviour one way or another.

  11. babu says:

After how it went down with Kanye, she must have thought : “saying stupid things and weaponizing black history are going down so fine this week, I must try it too”

The only #metoo moment she ll ever know, what a pitiful statement.

  12. Christin says:

    Dear Ms. Word Salad,

Be extremely glad that these accusations did not derail your family-friendly persona gravy train decades ago.

You’ve lived well for a very long time. Keep talking and you may end up with more lawsuits to occupy your days.

  13. HK9 says:

I believe Bill Cosby is a monster and I believe that Camille knew too. She’s rationalized this away in that crazy kept wife head of hers, and to do that you’ve got to be dead inside. It is also deeply disappointing for me because all my life, on all the black magazines that came into my house, Bill & Camille were upheld as the standard to everyone. Year, after year, after year. To know ALL of it was a lie, makes me feel gross. The only silver lining in this for me is that the victims got a conviction and there was justice for them.

    • Rachel in August says:

Many of the attacks apparently occurred in their home, too, while she was AT home!! Good Lord woman what is between your ears?

      • Lady D says:

        Dollar signs.

      • Carmen says:

Shows how much respect he has for her if he cheated on her in her own house while she was IN the house. But you’ll never get her to listen. She’s gone full Tammy Wynette.

  14. Rapunzel says:

Emmett Till didn’t have dozens of accusers, Camille. And the jurors interviewed said they convicted based on Cosby’s own words, not anything the media said.

  15. ValiantlyVarnished says:

Camille is a garbage human being just like her husband. Her husband was tried in a court of law and found guilty. That’s not mob justice. And according to jurors it was his own words that convicted him – not those of his accuser. Camille has a lot to answer for herself. She KNEW she what her husband was doing all those years. And to compre her husband to an innocent 14 year old boy who was accused by ONE white woman who admitted that she lied is beyond vile and disgusting.

  16. Nicole says:

    Girl BYE

  17. Merritt says:

Camille Cosby is a garbage human who chose money. She needs to go away.

  18. SJhere says:

Disgusting woman. Word salad is correct.
Weeping Jesus, the huge egos on these two is just amazing.

Well, the truth is finally out now. I do want to see jail time for Cosby. And huge legal settlements for the victims.

  19. Lala says:

Read this tripe…and thought to myself…

    “BISH…WUT?!?!”

May the ghosts of ALL OF THOSE WOMEN…who were stripped of their dignity, peace of mind…and of OWNERSHIP of their very bodies and soul…haunt her…and her putrid husband…

    In this life…and the next…

    • twocatsngirl says:

      Yes.

    • Josephina says:

Well said. It is tragic that some of his victims died without ever seeing justice.

She is truly a sorry excuse for a woman. She actually thinks Constand wanted to have sex with her nasty, crusty dusty husband when he was aged 69 years? The mental acrobats she must go through to rationalize being married to a serial rapist for 50 plus years.

      Nasty.
      Nasty.
      Nasty.
      Nasty.

  20. Capepopsie says:

Yes, this is bonkers, She is bonkers! But PLEASE, PLEASE tag the guilt where it belongs: on him! She is by No means responsible for What he did! She may be an enabler, as many are suggesting, But remember, She has been exposed to him as Well and who knows how her life has been?
    Just saying. . . .

    • brutalethyl says:

I don’t care about her rich, privileged life. She could have left him at any point and taken a few million bucks and her dignity with her. Instead she decided to stay with a rapist and make accusations against his VICTIMS. Screw her.

    • Josephina says:

She is complicit because the allegations are certainly not new and have been around for decades. His wealth and power in the entertainment industry helped him avoid accountability and provided the victims as well.

  21. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Yes. Eeeeeeeverbody’s wrong, and you two are right. I need some oil and vinegar to go with that word salad.

  22. teehee says:

The victim card is not a free pass to do anything you want and to turn blind eyes to every “other” injustice, ie, those which are not aimed solely at you. Trump calls the raid of Cohens office “disgraceful” and yet sends his goons to raid his own Dr office– this is playing the victim card to your own advantage when in reality you care nothing about truth fact or a principle. Just yourself. And no one else.
    (I see a parallel here)

  23. Frosty says:

    Stockholm Syndrome.

    • brutalethyl says:

Nope. Save that for real victims. Camille is only a victim of her own greed and narcissism.

  24. Kelly says:

Real question. Calling someone a liar and saying they lied under oath, does that count as slander?

  25. Sassy says:

Another thing that tears down her tirade is that bill Cosby had tremendous power and influence. NOBODY wanted to believe these women. Our world loved Cosby so much. When 60+ came forward, the taped disposition came forward, society couldn’t deny that this indeed DID HAPPEN. NOBODY wanted to accept this. But we had to. He let all his fans down. He broke hearts of his enormous audience. He isn’t a martyr. He isn’t a civil rights hero! He is a serial rapist!!!

  26. Michelle says:

Camille, honey. I’s time for you to go sit in a corner and STFU. Your ignorance and complacency has been showing for far too long. Since your husband is going to jail, perhaps someone can find a nice rest home that you can go to so you can live out the rest of your days in Denial Land.

  27. Betsy says:

That’s so disgusting, especially to compare Cosby’s raping god knows how many women to the lynching of Emmet Till. Tacky, tacky, tacky.

  28. ms says:

I can’t imagine what cognitive disconnect in her brain allows her to do these mental gymnastics.

  29. MerrymerrymonthofMay says:

    Camille Cosby can shove it.

  30. Izzy says:

“And the media ensured the dissemination of that propaganda by establishing barricades preventing the dissemination of the truth in violation of the protections of the First Amendment.”

OH NO HONEY. Your rapist husband did that with his nondisclosure agreements. STFU.

  31. adastraperaspera says:

Their whole marriage is just a business arrangement. Camille was an excellent manager for Cosby, and undoubtedly responsible for his success. But their personal life had pretty much fallen apart as early as the 1970s, when she and the kids moved back to the east coast. Bill maintained a home in L.A., where by all reports he freely lived the debauched life of a sexual abuser (though he did abuse women back east also and had consensual affairs). Camille could have divorced him decades ago, but Bill was the business she had fostered and grown to spectacular success. She could not let go. So she basically let the talent abuse anyone he wanted to, while she publicly played the “perfect wife” and shamed accusers to preserve the brand. Unethical, cruel–and possibly criminal–behavior will now be her final legacy.

  32. HollyGo says:

Over 60 women Camille. OVER 60.

    • Lady D says:

Over a 40 year period he probably drugged and raped hundreds of girls and women. I bet his victims number 300 or more. Wonder if he had repeat victims?

  33. K2 says:

I can’t believe she compared him to Emmett Till. Just so very many reasons, factual, moral and emotional, why that is deeply, deeply wrong.

  34. Cara says:

I don’t know what to make of this woman. Either she is evil like him, or she is suffering from one of the worst cases of denial…..ever!! Either way, they both give me the willies.

  35. Millie says:

All this B.S. about wanting due process and how important it is not to try cases in the court of public opinion. This dude gets a fair trial and they still cry foul.
