Wow, this week’s Time Magazine cover of Vladimir Trump is terrifying

If Donald Trump’s candidacy and presidency did anything positive, it ushered in what I consider to be the Golden Age of Magazine Covers. News magazines like Time, Newsweek, The New Yorker, The Economist and more have all been doing stellar cover work for two solid years now. Even the dailies have done some good covers, like the New York Daily News and yes, even the New York Post. That being said, this Time Magazine cover is terrifying – the CGI blend of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Because that’s what we’ve got, peeps. The GIF will give me nightmares:

You can read Time’s cover story here – it’s obviously all about the Treason Summit and how Donald Trump let his traitor freak-flag fly proudly, etc etc. Meanwhile, he’s been tweeting absolute bullsh-t all week:

“The Fake News Media wants so badly to see a major confrontation with Russia, even a confrontation that could lead to war…” Wow, not ominous at all. How could we go to war with Russia when Russia installed Despot Trump to keep the peace?

And finally, here’s this week’s New Yorker cover:

The covers are fantastic. Just think of them adorning his properties once they are confiscated /foreclosed!

    Happy Thursday thoughts!

I say when the US government seizes Mar-a-Lago after Trump’s arrest that we dedicate it as a temporary rest home for returning service members and their families, particularly those suffering from PTSD. I don’t think it’s that big, and because stays would be long, not many people would get to use it at a time, but there are enough public spaces that we could have those spaces dedicated to the GOP treachery and it’s decades-long history, a museum dedicated to Trump’s victims, to those who resisted him, to all of us who did NOT vote for him….

And it could be a space for State Dinners. Celebrations for having survived the GOP coup against America.

I just hope we do survive the coup since the GOP is already effectively acting as an arm of the Russian government.

The religious right appears to support & facilitate this as a method to help them force their religious doctrine on everyone (but themselves)

Actually Mar a Lago belonged to Marjorie Merriweather Post (Yes of the cereal fame and she owned Hillwood in DC too). I think Post wanted to donate Mar a Lago to the government at one time (she was the one who thought of Winter White House). I’m not too sure of the specifics but Post has great taste (see the Hillwood Museum) and yes the government can reclaim it.

Okay, that New Yorker cover is worth the nine dollars.

I don’t read as much New Yorker as I should, but it’s always a great read. I always come away feeling dumber but inspired to try harder, lol.

  3. Case says:

Time and New Yorker are consistently fearless with their covers. I love it.

  4. Kitty says:

If being deranged can be classified as a syndrome, trump would definitely be the first person officially diagnosed with Trump derangement syndrome,

  5. Denicah says:

I thought that was Trump on the cover.

  6. Maria says:

The New Yorker one is great.

  7. Jenns says:

I bet he’ll love the Time cover. Seriously.

  8. Beth says:

Magazine covers lately have been excellent. I give 2 thumbs up to the New Yorker

I got chills! This is creepy AF!!

It creeped me out too. I try not to visit the threads on him because I get too emotional. He made a mockery of our country while with Putin, his idol. Relieved that even the Republications were repulsed by him. He scares the behoodies out of me. I’m frightened for my children. That cover could win a Pulitzer in my opinion.

      • Darla says:

My mom is having a hard time emotionally with this. Yesterday, after the report about McFaul came out, she just wasn’t herself. She made meatballs for my brother and his family, but she couldn’t bring it over. I had to do it, and let her lay down and rest. I sometimes wonder if we will ever be able to measure the trauma this traitor has inflicted on thinking americans.

You know, I get to this place, too, sometimes. I think I might start a Meet Up support and brainstorm circle. For ways to visibly oppose Trump. Say one person puts a sign in their yard – something like “TRE45ON”. One person is a crank. A dozen people with the same size is passionate group. A hundred people in one suburb is a real showing.

I live in the burbitty ‘burbs of a midsize town. Marching isn’t hard, per say, but where? It’s not like DC with Lafayette Park or New York with Times Square. There’s a lot less punch.

Like many of you, I’m utterly terrified of what we face. I just read that the White House is inviting Putin to D.C. this fall–just a few months away–and all I can think of is that this will be when Putin officially acknowledges that the coup is complete. And that the Nov. military parade will display Russian tanks down Pennsylvania Ave. I was happy to learn that both my adult daughters and young grandson now have passports. My elder daughter is 3 months pregnant with her second child. I was so thrilled when she told me, but bringing a baby into trumplandia?? The thought makes me cry. I cry a lot. After reading a lot of history books over my 70 years, I can visualize our future—unfortunately.

Oh my God…super scary…of course what the hell is not scary about anything going on with this admin.

      • Kate says:

Darla, same thing where I am! I know multiple people reacting like that.. I myself was miserable on Monday!

  10. Biting Panda says:

    Damn it.
I installed that plug in that turns all pictures of 45* into pictures of cats.

  11. Kate says:

I don’t get the New Yorker cover – can someone explain? I’m guessing that’s Trump Tower?

    • dawnchild says:

I believe it’s because Colluder in Chief announced his run for the Presidency while coming down the escalator in the lobby of Trump Tower. Looks like he face-planted his ‘presidency’…

  12. Nicegirl says:

    @Betsy, I’m down. I’ll put a TRE4SON sign up
