Donald Trump sent out a sad, all-caps threat to the Iranian president at 11:24 pm

Donald Trump’s energy this weekend was sweaty and nervous. Several big stories about the Russian investigation dropped on Friday, and Trump spent much of last week trying to deal with the fallout of his public displays of treason during his summit with Vladimir Putin. Trump would literally do anything to get people to stop paying attention to Russia. Which is probably why he was in bed late last night, eating cheeseburgers and watching Fox News and trying to figure out what to tweet to change the subject. This is what he came up with:

It was sent at 11:24 pm EST. Remember when Barack Obama used to send unhinged tweets at the Iranian president at 11:24 pm on a Sunday night? Yeah, it never happened. Obama was too busy reading philosophy and chewing Nicorette.

Maybe for every deranged tweet Trump sends, we should remind people of what’s happening in the Russia investigation?

Paul Manafort’s trial begins this week in Alexandria, Virginia. There will be many revealing details about all of the shady sh-t Manafort was up to when he was Trump’s campaign manager.

The DOJ released some heavily redacted documents from their FISA warrant into their investigation of Carter Page, who was an American spy for Russia. Trump is still trying to claim that the whole thing is a hoax, but the FISA documents show that the DOJ had good reason to investigate Carter Page, and that Devin Nunes’ “release the memo” sh-t was just a bad-faith exercise in collusion.

Robert Mueller’s team has subpoenaed the “Manhattan Madam” Kristin Davis because why not? As it turns out, she’s involved somehow with Roger Stone, a longtime Trump associate. The web is expanding.

Please read this Orwellian nightmare piece about how the White House has basically cut ties with… Donald Trump. Like, the White House just says things and Trump contradicts his White House constantly and then Sarah Huckabee Sanders stands up there and tries to pretend that whatever Trump said has always been the White House policy.

WW3 here we come with nuclear weapons….

I hope Judicial Watch also gets taken down when Trump and Republicans go down in flames..

    • Anna nuttall says:

Just came on here to say the same thing.

    • Rescue Cat says:

Nah Too many countries have nukes now and none of them would be prepared to accept the consequences of firing them at any country who retaliate in kind.

    • isabelle says:

Nope…that won’t be the result. Iran is manipulating ole Donnie cry baby pants. North Korea did this same exact thing and what did we do, we negotiated with them. Iran wants a North Korea deal and as expected Donny is doing exactly what he did with North Korea. The same exact MO. His is so easy and they will probably walk away with a new deal like North Korea. WW3 isn’t worth Donny you think his advisers/team like him that much? He has little power in the end and they won’t begin WW3 over someone they dislike & don’t respect.

  2. RBC says:

Called this last week. I knew it was a matter of time before 45 starts sabre rattling a war with Iran. He is willing to start a war to distract attention from his dumpster fire of a administration.
Makes one wonder if Mueller is ready to drop more bombshells in his investigation and 45 is getting more desperate as he is backed in a corner? He is going to start lashing out more

    • Lightpurple says:

Wag the Dog. Manafort goes to trial today.

      • RBC says:

Lightpurple, do you think there will be any surprises in this trial? I was thinking the Iran tweets could be a result of something that will come out. 45 is the master of distraction

      • Lightpurple says:

Mueller has really kept everything locked down on all these cases so there will be lots of surprises.

      • B n A fan says:

If I’m not mistaken the trial starts on Wednesday.

      • Joy says:

Today is just a hearing as a last ditch effort to delay Wednesday’s trial.

      • isabelle says:

        Bingo!

      • Nic919 says:

Five witnesses who have requested immunity at the Manafort trial should be named shortly. The judge approved the motion for their immunity.

    • isabelle says:

He did this with North Korea when the Stormy Daniels stuff was blowing up. His same MO over and over again. Mexico you are next!

  3. Naomi says:

I’m doing my Dorothy “there’s no place like home” except I’m wishing it’s June 20th 2016 and everything since is a nightmare.

  4. Anna nuttall says:

This! Someone called it last week, how the US will pick a fight with Iran. What fucking nightmare.
    Humanity is doomed.

    • C says:

Yeah…. I think it was veterans today site.

    • Esmom says:

The US isn’t picking a fight with Iran, Trump is. He is so unbelievably unfit for office — temperamentally, intellectually — and he’s clearly scared. It’s terrifying.

The extent of Russia’s involvement in the election and their infiltration of our political landscape has been just mind boggling to me. I do now have renewed hope, though, that he and his Russian-indebted cronies will be brought to justice sooner or later.

      • Swackd says:

Well, he tried to pick a fight with NK also and look – now they’re BFF’s for life (KJU and Trump) /s.

    • Jan90067 says:

He’s definitely running scared when he runs to Twitter in the middle of the night. And with this latest spout of verbal diarrhea, you know that he’s afraid of what’s going to come out.

He WILL sh!t stir anything to take the heat off Manifort and Page’s little confession to Jake Tapper.

I don’t think I’ve ever been as afraid of a war starting as I am now. Dump is a loose canon, firing off in every direction.

To give everyone a “feel good” start the week, I offer this article:

      https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/trump-chicken-sail-coast-san-francisco-prisoner-trump-baby-a8458956.html

    • Original T.C. says:

He is shook from the reactions to his non-confrontation with Putin. I think everyone except his cult finally sees that the Emperor has no clothes. The media, some GOP regular people etc. are now pushing back. They used to be intimidated by him but now they realize he is just a dumb lapdog. He really embarrassed himself. The mystic is gone. No one is going to fall for North Korea part II.

And I think in his bones, Trump is afraid of dealing with a war. It’s his second year and he still has not gone to Afghanistan or Iraq to see the troops. He is bone spurs to the end!!

  5. Tw says:

Obama was eating his 8 almonds…

    • Esmom says:

Lol. I thought that was Tom Brady?

      • Angela82 says:

LOL. Not sure about the ‘8’ part but I remember when Drumpf took office he replaced all Obama’s healthy snacks, like almonds, with junk food like soda and Oreos . Surprise I know.

    • jwoolman says:

Angela82 – oh, no! The Trumpster likes Oreos? So sad, they are one of the few mainstream cookies I can eat (no allergenic dairy or egg in most flavors). Oh, well, I survived Ronald Reagan loving my non-allergenic jelly bellies. The junk food doesn’t have to be contaminated by fans in high office.

At least I can’t stand his favorite Diet Coke. Real Coca Cola with sugar is good for nausea, though, in case anybody else might need a remedy for that in the Trump Era.

Excuse me while I lift a glass of water and eat a few almonds to remember the last sane POTUS.

      • Liz version 700 says:

Real Coke is also great for migraine nausea. In case Trump is making other folks get migraines besides just me…

      • Christin says:

Thanks for the tip. I knew regular Sprite is also a good nausea aid, if one does not have ginger ale on hand.

      • Belle Epoch says:

I just want to THANK KAISER for covering this shit. This has become the only place I can stomach reading about Trump because of the great CELEBITCHY READERS who are so smart!

Also, a story. Trump took a couple of Starbursts out of his frumpy suit pocket, threw them across the conference table, and said, “Here, Angela (Merkel). Don’t ever say I didn’t give you something.” For some reason this nasty comment makes my blood run cold. I’m sure it’s because she’s a woman and that’s how he treats all women. Dismissively throw candy at a chemist and world leader.

  6. Beth says:

Someone STOP him!! He fucked up bigly by kissing Putins ass in front of the world, then he walked back by saying he meant “wouldn’t, ” not “would, ” now he’s walking back the walk back by saying the whole Russia thing is just a hoax. He’s in full panic mode, and it’s scary

  7. Rescue Cat says:

What threat was President Rouhani suppossed to have made?

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Rouhani made televised comments to the US about ‘ the lions tail’ and this is IQ45’s response to that. Its all puffed up hot air from Trump as he would never piss of Daddy Vlad by actually starting a war with Iran.

      • RBC says:

Unless “Daddy Vlad” agreed to a “deal” where 45 could break out his toys for a war with Iran and “Daddy” gets something in return? Remember the world has no idea what the two of them discussed at that meeting in Helsinki …..

    • Azadeh IR says:

If you would not call Donald Trump “President Trump” please refrain from calling Hassan Rouhani “President Rouhani”, no matter how true both of those honorific titles are. They are both puppets of other forces cut from the same fetid cloth.

      • magnoliarose says:

Truth. It is a tangled web but uncannily, the same people reappear over and over.

    • Betsy says:

He threatened to close the straight of Hormuz – i.e., cut off our international supply of gas.

So naturally Trump obliquely threatens nuclear annihiliation. When you need to distract from growing scandals, you need to go big or go home.

  8. grabbyhands says:

That 45 will literally do anything, include starting wars, to distract from what is going on is no surprise.

That the GOP is willing to ride this train all the way into nuclear war and/or the country being controlled by Putin still is to me for some reason. I keep thinking, this is getting real, really, really fast – surely SOMEONE has some sense of self preservation?

  9. Rescue Cat says:

What threat was President Rouhani suppossed to have made?

  10. Busyann says:

Nope, I think he’s just POed that there are protesters outside of the white house chanting lock him up, playing music, dancing, anything to disrupt his sleep until he’s out of office. Look at his reaction in this video. Priceless.

    twitter.com/AdamParkhomenko/status/1021219283366498304

  11. jwoolman says:

Trump was saying the same crazy stuff about North Korea for many months. I breathed more easily when Kim snookered him and he went away thinking Kim was now his BFF (better than threatening total annihilation of North Korea, I think Kim feels safe also and a safe Kim is much less of a threat to anybody).

Now Trump remembers he hates Iran and off he goes again. Iran doesn’t have nukes now and so he is engaging in the familiar sport of US Presidents, nuclear-bullying a non-nuclear country. But the regional war that will ensue will be horrendous. The Iranians are undoubtedly feeling completely betrayed. I hope the EU simply ignores Trump and continues to honor the original agreement.

If you don’t trust the monitors, you get better or more numerous monitors. You don’t trash the agreement. Radioactivity from construction and testing of nuclear weapons is not easily disguised, so monitoring for such compliance is not the impossible task that Trump assumes it is.

I really hope the US military has quietly severed the connection between the football and the missile commands. But with John Bolton on duty, I tend to doubt it.

People in Israel who see the dangers need to work especially hard now to control their own government, which has been a major Trump cheerleader and seems happy with the idea of war. Not every Israeli agrees, but they are in a difficult place because Israel does have serious security concerns that we really don’t. But war with Iran will be disastrous for them in both the short-term and the long-term.

I wish Mueller could do something to scare Trump into silence on all the deadly distractions, but Trump thinks he is safe cowering behind the Presidency. He is getting more bizarre by the day.

    • Lightpurple says:

When Trump is scared, he doesn’t go silent. He makes a lot of blustery noise and lashes out in all directions. Manafort’s trial starts today and Trump now knows Cohen taped his conversations (which is NOT unusual.) He’s scared and freaking out.

Expect more crap from Ivanka today about how she is singlehandedly saving American working families.

    • magnoliarose says:

The group of people who are fighting against Iran the hardest are evangelical Christians. They are the biggest Pro-Israel lobby in DC. Only they aren’t doing it for Jews, they are doing it because of Christianity and waiting for the second coming. They believe Israel is really theirs and the fact that Jesus was a Jew means they would rather have Jews there than Muslims.
Right wingers in Israel align with evangelical Christians because they have the same goals only they want a different outcome. The whole embassy move was evangelical. Remember Ted Cruz’s obsession with this? Most Israelis are secular and not overly religious so it was bigots on the right who were more than happy to see it happen too.
So when you say Israel needs to control their own government it is like saying we need to control 45. Russians need to control Putin. Turkish people need to control Erdoğan. Syrians need to control Bashar al-Assad.

Bolton, Pompeo, and their ilk are the leaders of this hawkish cruel campaign. They have been itching for war with Iran forever. Nevermind the civilians and innocents there. They will murder millions of people and then refuse anyone asylum.

      • Sugaree says:

Exactly Magnolia Rose…the Evangelicals and Christians in general have completely made a Faustian agreement with tRump. They get everything they want and in return they praise and support him. Oh how I hope Mueller can bring him down…VOTE BLUE IN 18!!

  12. Lightpurple says:

Wag the Dog. Manafort’s trial starts today.

    • Esmom says:

Yes. You’d think someone in charge would have pried Trump’s tiny hands away from his phone by now. JFC.

      • Lightpurple says:

Nobody is in charge. There are only traitors and sycophants.

      • Esmom says:

Yes, I realized I meant “in charge.” In quotes.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Esmom, do you get the feeling that he is alone alot? Except for his Secret Service. In a few earlier profiles he’s been portrayed as lost, adrift, and alone. Like the weekend he met Stormy. He was wandering alone in a casino when he met her.

He is mentally ill. He is unfit. All his vicious bluster is pathetic.

      • Esmom says:

Indiana Joanna, Yes. Honestly, who would want to be around him for any length of time? I’m no fan of James Comey but I still laugh when I think of him trying to quickly blend in with the drapes when Trump once approached him. Totally relatable.

  13. Jenns says:

I have nothing to add other than this tweet, which cracked me up.

    https://twitter.com/byelin/status/1021235015684886531

  14. Lala11_7 says:

I’m 50 years old…EVERY Republican POTUS has gone to war to deflect from the GOP’s craven actions since I’ve been alive…yet…folks NEVER EVER make that connection….

  15. Abbess Tansy says:

I’m embarrassed by what’s currently in the white house. Another day, another dollar. Finished my presentation, then on a whim I check Twitter. Oh look, it’s still talking.

  16. Darla says:

Yeah, he’s tweeting again this morning. He’s unhinged. Sarah Kendzior has said that if Trump senses he will have to sacrifice, he will sacrifice the world instead.

It’s a chilling statement, but unfortunately for all of us, I think she’s right.

    • whatWHAT? says:

again, this has been my fear since he was “elected”. that he’ll push the button rather than go to jail/be removed from office. it’s an “if I go down, YOU ALL GO DOWN” mentality.

      and I’m f*cking scared.

      • Darla says:

I know. It’s frightening. My poor mom was still awake when he sent this tweet, and she ate four donuts. Which is very unlike her. I am not sure how much longer she can handle this.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

I feel the same way, he’d rather blow up the world as he goes down. He’s a purely destructive force.

  17. PlayItAgain says:

I said it on Inauguration Day: the best we can hope for is that people don’t die as a result of this horrific asshat. That he’d continue to lie, cheat, and steal his way through the presidency, and fine—as long as he doesn’t start a effing war or provoke another 911. We’re so screwed. He’s killing my hope.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

People have died as a result of his election … one by one, or in small groups, so it’s hard to see it in totality. But the casualties include Heather Heyer (sp) in Charlottesville, the 2 men in the Pacific NW whose throats were slashed when they defended the victim of hate crime, the multiple victims of the Quebec City shooting (killer inflamed by Trump’s warnings about Muslims), black men and women shot by cops who feel emboldened, any refugees who have died either in concentration camps at the border or from being sent back to certain death, other victims of white supremacist violence, and all the unknown who fell off the insurance rolls and could not pay for necessary treatments and drugs. Not to mention preventable deaths such as women denied access to safe abortions, victims of the opioid epidemic lacking care, and the THOUSANDS of people in Puerto Rico who died in and after Hurricane Maria due to government neglect.

  18. Jane says:

To think that man has possession of the Nuclear Football and nuclear codes. I have been sick to my stomach.

    • Giddy says:

I really wonder if some officers, the Joint Chiefs maybe, have agreed to block him from actually using a nuke. If we can see how unstable he is, can’t they? I know that Republicans are loving the stranglehold they have, but surely they don’t want him starting a nuclear war.

These are the things I tell myself so that I can sleep.

      • Jane says:

Good question! I do not know. In some ways I would need to be a Constitutional lawyer/expert in order to understand what steps could be taken to block the President from starting WWIII.

However, if you look up Nuclear Football on Google, there is a haunting quote from an individual during the Nixon era. Imagine if this would happen today:

Journalist Ron Rosenbaum has pointed out that the operational plan for nuclear strike orders is entirely concerned with the identity of the commanding officer and the authenticity of the order, and there are no safeguards to verify that the person issuing the order is actually sane. Notably, Major Harold Hering was discharged from the Air Force in late 1973 for asking the question “How can I know that an order I receive to launch my missiles came from a sane president?” under Richard Nixon.

        God save us all…

  19. Christin says:

    Predictable. Distraction.

He wanted to control the Monday news cycle. He’ll clarify and/or deny what the tweet said once he senses the news cycle is ready to talk about the ruble ruckus again.

  20. Indiana Joanna says:

drump threatened us with war last week when he said his critics want war rather than peace with Russia, as though his Putin play date was about our security. He threatens to destroy us and everyone else alot.

Agree with Light Purple that no one is in charge here. This is his childhood default tantrum (he was sent away for sociopath, unmanageable behavior) stoked by his terror of being exposed for his many crimes. Yet I’m not convinced he and his family even consider his years of stealing and criminal dealings as wrong. Look how Grifter Ivanka stole $82 million through her WH position and blithely acts like she is a saviour (just like daddy). None of them have a conscience.

Really, don’t know how this will end. I don’t want to go nihilistic and say WWIII.

  21. Lisa says:

God, could you imagine Obama ever tweeted like that? Disgusting.

    • Lightpurple says:

No president would ever tweet like that. Singling our Obama makes it an either or situation which his followers love. We need to emphasize that NO president would do this. It isn’t political; it is abnormal

      • Lisa says:

You’re right, I just meant that people came down on Obama for the littlest things, while Trump continually gets a pass for actually appalling behaviour.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

This comment isn’t meant to criticize Lisa, but I’m so sick of people saying “Can you imagine if Obama …”

  22. boredblond says:

Oh please..next Mon he’ll be bragging that the world was on the brink of war but he-the almighty-fixed everything on his own. Meanwhile, thousands of children have not, and may never, see their parents, a supreme court judge who believes a prez is above all laws will be seated, every repub traded their balls for kneepads, and dems are so desperate for the racist/sexist/hater votes, they’re telling each other ‘don’t ever say the ‘I’ word’…f’ing mess…

    • Swackd says:

“… he’ll be bragging that the world was on the brink of war but he-the almighty-fixed everything on his own.” This so much. He did the same thing with NK and now he and KJU are BFF’s.

  23. Shannon says:

That wasn’t for Iran; that was a performance for us. He really reminds me of the Jack Nicholson character in The Shining. I hope Barron has a safe room. This mfkr is unhinged.

    • Lightpurple says:

I think Barron lives somewhere else

    • B n A fan says:

Shannon, that’s for us, but don’t forget the kind of person he is don’t put it pass him to start a war for oil, remember him saying during election time, “take their oil”. If he’s going into a war who will go into a war with us when he cursed all our allies out. He’s taking his marching orders from Putin, who knows what he and Putin talked about in their 2 hours meeting last week. No White House briefing today, only one last week. The dotard don’t give a “F” anymore, they just do as they please.

  24. Rapunzel says:

Just saw Hamilton at a West End theater. Remember when the Reynolds Pamphlet was enough to keep a guy from being president? Boy I wish we could go back to those days.

  25. LA Native says:

I went down a trump rabbit hole today and started inspecting his thousands of “likes” that immediately pop up seconds after he farts out a tweet.
Funny, they are all protected accounts. Hmmmm.

  26. CairinaCat says:

People like the Kardashians pay for followers and likes, I would figure dumpster fire does as well. So a lot of those followers and likes he gets are probably fake

  27. adastraperaspera says:

Clear and present danger. Trump needs to be silenced asap. I don’t care how they do it.

  28. JRenee says:

Wouldn’t be beyond him to start a war as another distraction.
Uninformed, incapable, inept and disturbingly dangerous.

Mitch McConnell this is on you..

    • isabelle says:

Nah…Donnie is a small man making big bluffs, also he is loyal to Putin above everyone else. Putin won’t approve war with Iran.

  29. isabelle says:

Putin won’t be happy with little Donnie over this one. He may put him in his time out chair.

  30. JFerber says:

Why threaten him when they can be best bro’s, like Trump and Putin?

  31. why? says:

Mueller needs to start indicting the Dotard, his kids, Jared, and republicans like Nunes, Gowdy, Chuck G, Matt G, Jim Jordan, Meadows, and Lindsay Graham. It’s good that he is going after the Russians, but it’s time to stop the Dotard and his administration from destroying this country. The Dotard and his administration aren’t even hiding the fact that they are getting help with the elections from Putin. Once again, the press praised Dan Coats for standing up to the Dotard and what did Dan Coats do? He did the same thing that Nikki Haley did. I wish that the press would do better.

  32. Che says:

Y’all know this is how trump woos dictators. First he calls them names and then they host a summit together, and then they develop the greatest relationship the world has ever seen! Also, is it just me or does anyone else think trump is playing dictator bingo?

  33. Laura says:

Trump and the Iranian dictator can sod right off 😡 Neither party is mentally sane or of any real benefit to their respective countries. So sick and tired of these morons-in-charge threatening each other/jeporadizing the lives of innocent people 😐

  34. Jerusha says:

Still wishing, hoping, praying for what CB rules do not allow us to print.

  35. why? says:

The Dotard has made an enemies list, he wants to strip the clearance of anyone who criticized him. The names on the list include: McCabe, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Susan Rice, and Michel Hayden. Comey responded by saying that his security clearance was taken away when they fired him and laughed that the the WH is so incompetent that they didn’t even know that his clearance had already been taken away. Who wants to bet that this order came from the Dotard’s puppetmaster, Putin? It’s like Putin is giving the Dotard ridiculous orders to just to see how far he would go. Handing over McFaul and the guy involved in the Manisky act. Now removing clearances from people who criticize the Dotard? When is enough going to be enough? The Dotard needs to be impeached. Or do the civility Democrats still think that it’s not time to talk about impeachment yet?

What does Putin have on Rand Paul because he is really sucking up to the Dotard and going along with everything he does? Rand Paul is on twitter advocating for John Brennan’s security clearance to be removed. What does Rand Paul think that Brennan knows about him that he wants him out of the way?

The judge in the Manafort case is also working for the Dotard, he agreed to delay Manafort’s case for 6 days(when those 6 days are up, he will probably delay it again) and released the names of the 5 people who will testify against Manafort so that the bots and Devin Nunes can harass and intimidate them so that they won’t testify against Manafort.

Where is Mueller? Now is not the time to coddle the Dotard. He needs to start indicting them right now.
