Brad Pitt & Leo DiCaprio got pap’d on the set of ‘Once Upon a Time’ in LA

Brad Pitt rocks double denim on the set of 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'

Here are some photos of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio on the LA set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the Quentin Tarantino film which is a fictional tale set against the backdrop of the Manson Murders in 1969. Just a reminder: DiCaprio is playing the “actor” and Brad is playing his stunt double. Their characters live together, and Sharon Tate is their neighbor. Many believe Margot Robbie is playing Sharon Tate. The film is allegedly about the changing landscape of Hollywood at that time, and not really about the Manson murders. We’ll see.

One good thing was recently announced about this movie: a change in the release date. Originally, OUATIH was slated for release next year, on the 50th anniversary of Sharon Tate’s murder. It was a macabre release date and it caused a lot of wincing from a lot of people. The release date got pushed up two weeks, so now it will be released on July 26th, rather than August 9th. Sharon Tate’s sister has now given the film her blessing, after she spoke to Tarantino and he moved the release date.

As for these photos… remember when we thought Brad Pitt would continue to look like Robert Redford? I miss those days. Redford in the ‘70s was one of the most beautiful men in the world: watch Three Days of the Condor if you don’t believe me. Brad Pitt in ‘70s-style costuming looks like an extra on Dumb & Dumber. As for Leo… meh.

It’s not really about the Manson murders, but we’ll be sure to exploit them for our movie!!!

This is just so disrespectful and everyone involved should feel bad about having signed on.

  2. Melania says:

Sorry but I hope this movie will be a flop.

  3. C says:

    I think he looks great.

    • ChillyWilly says:

Me too. He’s much better looking than Redford to me. Leo on the other hand does nothing for me.

  4. Skyblue says:

I agree, 1960s and 70s Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid or The Way We Were….gorgeous. But Paul Newman…mmmmmmmmmm.

    • Livvers says:

Yeah it says something about Paul Newman’s beauty when Robert Redford is the foil that makes Newman look even more gorgeous.

      • Rosalee says:

Paul Newman was simply one beautiful man. Matthew McConaughey and Josh Lucas could pass for Newman’s sons..those incredible blue eyes and that gorgeous smile.

    • ChillyWilly says:

No actor living or dead is as beautiful as Newman. I watch Cat on a Hot Tin Roof every time it’s on TCM just to ogle Paul and Liz.

      • Nancy says:

I don’t remember too many of his movies other than Cool Hand Luke. His eyes were ice blue. Beautiful..

      • tracking says:

Agreed, can’t think of anyone else with that combination of fantastic looks and charisma. Also can’t think of a sexier more physically beautiful combo than Paul and Liz in COAHTR. Natalie Wood and Redford in This Property is Condemned come close, but still second.

      • babypeanut says:

Good gawd when he tells Maggie to lock the door!

      • Ally says:

Well, that’s why The Sting and Butch & Sundance, besides being generally brilliant films, are so lovable. Both of them right there in one place!

      • Addison says:

@ Nancy: I bought Cool Hand Luke because of that! LOL

    • H says:

I’m a lesbian, but I’d still bang Robert Redford right now. He was my childhood movie crush. Download The Electric Cowboy with Jane Fonda. Lordy, that man could wear a mustache.

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

Yes, The Electric Horseman too! And LOL, H! I like that RR has a sense of humor. He wears Fonda’s oversized sunglasses as a “disguise” through part of that movie and looks hilarious. I also like the beginning when he’s drunk & half naked & singing Mama, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys

      • Pandy says:

        LOVE that movie as well.

    • Nancy says:

I agree that Brad looks like a younger Redford in these pics, minus the warts. If you saw a current picture of RR, it would make you sad. Time stands still for nobody…

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

        😂 Moles, Nancy, moles… not warts 😂

      • Nancy says:

        Sorry. Hangs head down low….

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

No shame, Nancy 😄 I just had to defend my 81 year old lover 😂

Paul Newman…le sigh! Sooo gorgeous too. The duo of Redford-Newman is almost too much to bear. I think I need a BCatSK and The Sting marathon stat!

When Paul Newman died, I cried 😭

      • Nancy says:

The Sundance Kid is 81. Holy cow! Nobody had eyes like Newman, crystal blue. Don’t be sad, do a marathon! It would be a fun weekend. Shitttttttttttttttt, as they jumped off the cliff….haha. Aren’t any duos around like them anymore.

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

Sooo true, they were a perfect duo. Great chemistry! Butch & Sundance is in my Top Ten fav movies. Gotta love that cliff scene. Redford: I can’t swim! Newman: (cracking up) Swim!? Hell – the fall will kill you!

    • KidV says:

My mom met Paul Newman on a film set once, she said all she could do was stare at his blue eyes. She doesn’t remember if she actually said anything. LOL

Brad would look amazing in Leo’s outfit. Brad does that 70’s vibe well. I still think he looks like Robert Reford’s son.

      • anniefannie says:

He was in KC ( Mo! big distinction from KC KS for us ) filming Mr and Mrs Bridge and my gorgeous girl friend was driving in a convertible and Paul Newman pulled up next to her ( in passanger seat) she looked over and stared, mouth agape, he looked at her expression and burst out lauphing. She said he’s much more ( if possible ) charismatic and beautiful in person!

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

Those are great stories. I would become tongue-tied if I had met either of them. In
fact, I might faint. To this day, I have recurring dreams about Redford. They’re always amazing, ahhhh!

I had a little crush on Michael Crichton, and when I came face-to-face with him 😂 and all I could do was look up (he was about 6’8”) and say “hi🙄😮😮😮😮” He said hi back. I was dumbstruck, lol

      • lucy2 says:

I met Redford once may 10-15 years ago, and he still looked pretty great. I probably would have full on fainted had I ever met Newman, especially in his prime.

    • Jerusha says:

Paul Newman in The Hustler-drop dead gorgeous. Even in B&W, without the blue eyes. Stunning.

  5. Case says:

I still very much enjoy Leo. He seems like a douche and has slept with 9483936 models, but as far as I know he’s not crazy or abusive. I’ll call that a win, lol. I think he’s a fantastic actor. There are actors I like as actors that I don’t know much about otherwise (ie Leo) and actors I follow because I like them personally.

    • minx says:

I always end up defending Leo’s love life, because so what? He’s a single guy, he can do what he wants.

      • Nancy says:

A guy is a bachelor and can do as he pleases; whereas an unmarried woman is a spinster, old maid (do they still use these terms?) or rather unpleasant names if she dates as many men as he does woman. Total double standard.

      • minx says:

Nancy, yes, and it sounds puritanical. People can have sex, they’re allowed.

      • Nancy says:

I wasn’t going after you @minx. Leo has lots and lots of sex with lots and lots of women. My point was well, you know what they would call a woman doing the same. That’s all.

      • tracking says:

I agree any single person can have as much sex as s/he wants, but I do look down on him for dating such young girls with no accomplishments other than hotness. I think there is something off (and distinctly unfeminist) with men who refuse to date their equals, or their age.

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

@Minx agree re DiCaprio. Everyone knows what they’re getting when they date him. He helps make them more famous, and evidently, they don’t talk smack about him when it’s over. I don’t think 🤔 any woman has publicly complained about him.

Not everyone wants marriage and/or kids. As long as a person is upfront about that, so be it.

      • minx says:

        Nancy, I know 😉
I mean, if Leo asked me 😂 I would try to steer him away from the young models, tell him to date someone more in his age range. He might enjoy it. But that’s not his thing now. I don’t think these women are being exploited. My real point was, he’s not married, he’s not presenting himself as being monogamous or looking to get married, so he’s allowed to do what he wants.

      • Nancy says:

KK. Gilbert Grape can do as he pleases!

      • Case says:

Oh, I totally agree. Do I think it’s weird that he dates much younger women? Yeah. But it doesn’t bother me in the slightest what people do behind closed doors as long as it’s consensual and respectful. Seeing as I’ve never heard a bad thing about Leo, I’m assuming he’s an ok guy.

      • magnoliarose says:

I used to think the same about his love life but I am not so sure I agree anymore. Some actors keep their private lives private so that it won’t get in the way of how people perceive them. I think for some people it is impossible to separate the two.
Leo DiCap is pathetic to me but I still think he is a top rate actor. I just wish he would cool it with the ubiquitous bike rides.
I also don’t believe his model romances are totally legit.

      • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

@Tracking – agree. I don’t respect his age limits. It’s too strange. A turn-off. I also wonder if he has contracts with them. I’ve wondered the same about Bradley Cooper when he started dating younger women. Just like Leo’s model girlfriends, they become well known to a certain degree, start getting movie roles (Suki Waterhouse, Toni Garnn, Kelly Rohrbach)…and never speak about Cooper or DiCaprio after.

      • lucy2 says:

I don’t care as long as everyone is consenting and happy, but the fact that he’s still dating 20 year olds while pushing middle age is icky to me.

  6. LadyT says:

Leo looks Manx girdled to the point of respiratory distress. That is not even close to his everyday physique.

  7. Beth says:

They’re both very attractive, but I never drooled for either of them

  8. KB says:

I think they both look super hot

  9. Sash says:

I have no interest in this movie whatsoever. The exploitation of a real murdered woman to tell the story of fictional men is just abhorrent, especially when you consider how they were going to release the movie on the anniversary of her death. Burn it, I hope it flops.

    • VirgiliaCoriolanus says:

QT was being a drama queen attention ho. The release date has been moved and Sharon Tate’s sister is now onboard with the film–I believe he is going to give her the script to read soon, if he hasn’t already. I don’t think the film is about Sharon’s murder at all–QT just released the summary, trolled everyone with the date (well everyone who hadn’t read the script) for attention and then pulled a “you thought I did xyz?” and made the switch.

      • magnoliarose says:

This movie will be big because of the stars and the notoriety. I am curious to see how it is handled and if it turns out to be any good.

      • VirgiliaCoriolanus says:

I think it has a high budget, which is why QT is being extra attention whorey……

I think he said it was more in the vein of Pulp Fiction….that is probably his best film (my fave besides Jackie Brown and Inglorious Basterds)…..so if he tones down/eliminates the fake blood then he’ll most likely have a hit.

I will admit to being a slight stan, lol! I thought the original release date was really tacky and thoughtless IF the film used ST’s death as a punchline, and not something that didn’t celebrate her life. QT writes really good female characters–villains, heroines, bystanders, etc. So I wasn’t completely sold on the idea that he’d mention Sharon Tate and then not use her character at all. IMO.

I thought Django Unchained was going to be awful, even after I saw the trailer….but beyond the 20 min shoot out at the end, I thought that was one of his best films. If QT edits himself down and tones down on the cartoon blood, then he will have a hit, both commercially and artistically. He’s also all but guaranteed awards attention unless the film is REALLY bad because Hollywood loves films about itself, lol.

I’m really curious about the plot though. I’m half expecting Sharon Tate to massacre the Manson Family at the end, TBH.

      • magnoliarose says:

Hollywood adores watching about itself, that is so true. I liked Kill Bill because it was like watching a graphic novel and I like IB. He is very good at what he does even if he is problematic.
It could either be a great movie or so bad it becomes a bad joke.

  10. Winnie Cooper's Mom says:

Have they ever been in a film together before now?

    • KB says:

They were both in a Martin Scorsese short film a couple of years ago. I never saw it, so I don’t know if they shared scenes. Brad produced The Departed, which Leo was in.

  11. ash says:

nah…. robert redford all day…. just because he and angie got residula beef doesnt take that away LOL

  12. Electric Tuba says:

I will never watch this Movie.
There is something so off putting and disgusting about DiCaprio that I have not watched any movie he’s been in at all since the thing he did that flick with Tom Hanks about being a con artist. If he was revealed to have been some type of strangler or ripper I would not even blink because he sets my creep meter off so badly.

Pitts been canceled due to his Make It Not Right NOLA mold houses were first being built. So I haven’t watched him in a major role since Katrina.
I clearly was never that big of a fan in the first place lol

  13. Jordan says:

I thought it was the ABC show and I went “whAT?”

  14. minx says:

They both look great, I have to say.

  15. AnotherDirtyMartini says:

I watched The Sting the other night. I’ve always been in love with Redford 😍. He’s also beautiful in Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid and The Way We Were, among others. Paul Newman was stunning too, but RR…I’m so glad my mom used to watch all his old movies. He’s been my favorite since I was little. Oh, Brad Pitt resembled RR in A River Runs Through It. BP was gorgeous in The Legends of the Fall too.

    • windyriver says:

If you want to compare them, Pitt and Redford were together in one of my favorite movies, Spy Game, 2001. BP was 38 and still looked fabulous; RR was 65, and likewise – it was before the more extreme work on his face.

For Newman fans, if you haven’t already, Google Paul Newman Navy to see what he looked like at age 18. B&W photo so no blue eyes, but still quite something.

  16. tracking says:

+2 And they are pulling off the 70s garb very well.

  17. Darla says:

I guess we really all have very different tastes. I find neither of these dudes at all sexy, and never have. Yesterday a lot of people were on the Jason Momoa thread saying he looks dirty. And he is that rare man that makes my knees weak. It’s a type. I am so not into blondes.

Oh, also, I am definitely not seeing this movie.

    • magnoliarose says:

Neither does it for me either and never have. I rarely like blondes and have no interest in looking like members of the Norwegian ski team with my guy. lol I have always been drawn to dark hair and more ethnic looking men. I don’t even like fair skin all that much. Of course there are exceptions but generally speaking that is the case.
Now that I wrote that I am trying to think of a famous man I find dreamy. Oh Idris during the Wire era was a crime. I mean FFS. He’s still sexy though. Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada aka Oscar Isaac. If I ever met him I would say his whole sexy name to his face with lots of rolling ‘r’s. Aaron Taylor Johnson’s looks are my thing too.
I saw your post on JM. He’s not my thing but hey, I used to like Tom Hardy’s nasty self so we like what we like. LOL.

      • Darla says:

LOL, yep we can’t help that.

But it sounds like generally speaking, we have similar tastes in men.

    • AnotherDirtyMartini says:

I’ll have to look at the Jason Mamoa thread. He’s v sexy. I’ve watched shows I wasn’t even interested in just to see him. I have a problem. I’m lusting after nearly everyone mentioned. Rosalee, you mentioned Josh Lucas. Another pretty one.

  18. Jerusha says:

Can’t really compare 70s RR to today’s BP. Redford was born in 1936, meaning he was 40ish in his 70s films. Brad is what, 54 or 55 now? He looks fine. It’s that awful hairstyle for the movie detracting from his looks.

    • KB says:

Right? Three Days of the Condor and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid RR would be the equivalent of Fight Club and Ocean’s 11 Brad.

Today’s Brad would be Robert Redford in Havana or Indecent Proposal. They’re holding up almost exactly the same. I’d give the edge to Brad myself, but he’s got access to cosmetic procedures that probably didn’t exist 20 years ago.

  19. Uma says:

    Brad looks great

  20. Ally says:

“Redford in the ‘70s was one of the most beautiful men in the world: watch Three Days of the Condor if you don’t believe me. Brad Pitt in ‘70s-style costuming looks like an extra on Dumb & Dumber.”

Hahahaha, I love you. I always hated that PR spin. One of the beautiful things about 1970s actors, especially Redford, is that they radiated compassion and intelligence, something blank stoner Pitt never proved capable of.

This movie sounds like Auto Focus with the Manson movies as backdrop. I loathe everyone involved.

  21. Sofia says:

Leo, Brad Pitt and Al Pacino in the same movie im! so!! ready!!!

  22. Pandy says:

Agree, they are both handsome. Brad isn’t doing it for me in these pix though.

  23. Pisa says:

    can’t wait

  24. d says:

Leo D is forever dead to me, for many reasons, but recently saw the clip from Django Unchained where Leo’s character Calvin is yelling at people around the dinner table and he slams his hand down on the table and breaks a glass. QT and/or another actor were all “he’s so in the moment, such a good actor, didn’t break” and all I could think, it’s ACTING, but no, he’s so real, he took REAL blood with BROKEN GLASS on his hand and wiped it all over Kerry Washington’s face. I think it’s a shi!!y thing to do to another actor and hey, is it not a health violation? It just seemed so disrespectful and I couldn’t help but wonder if he actually deep down really wanted to humiliate her and/or was deep down gleeful in doing that to her. It was awful to watch. Jerk.

    • KB says:

IMDB says he really cut his hand, but the blood that was smeared on Kerry was fake.

      https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1853728/trivia?ref_=m_tt_trv_trv

The blood smearing was apparently suggested by Leo after his hand was bandaged and not in the script, so your end point could possibly still stand anyway.

    • Brittany says:

When he cut his hand and kept talking and picked glass out of his hand-that’s real.

When he smeared the blood all over Kerry’s face-that is fake.

      • d says:

Oh wow, good to know because I was horrified. Thanks. To me from the interview/ clip, it sounded like they just kept going, so (it seemed like) the blood was real. Still slightly off though…still, not as bad as what I thought.

  25. Lisa says:

I just wanna see Al Pacino.

  26. Sara says:

Although Brad has had his problems, he makes Depp look 20 years his senior.

  27. Gessy says:

Brad has that lovely retro, Steve MacQueen/Paul Newman vibe going on. He looks great.

  28. sert says:

I used to think what a lot of others seem to think of DiCaprio: He’s single, apparantly has never forced himself on anybody and as such, he is free to do what he wants. But then he started to date a woman he has known since she was around 8 years old and who allegedly saw him as an uncle…and then it was just to much for me. He seems like a genuine shithead to me now. And since I have no soul, but a lot of free time on my hands, I gloat everytime I see someone drag him. And this movie…it’s going to be a boxoffice hit and will probably get raving reviews, but I truly hope it crashes and burns. It may not be about the manson murders, but they sure as hell sold it as such to begin with (proudly announcing its release date on the 50th anniversity of the murders), then it seemed like they backpedaled when it people didn’t become immediatly impressed, but it still seems tasteless and shitty.
Sorry for the rant, but I had to get it of my chest.

    • Nancy says:

You have no soul! Hahaha. I don’t care for him. Peaked out for me in looks and talent after Titanic. He was boyishly cute, and that didn’t go on to his older self. I agree about the movie too. Innocent people were butchered by a madman and his “family” of girls and a few guys. So you get some big names to go back and relive the slaughter just so those who don’t know Manson, can meet him onscreen. I find it very distasteful. But, in our slasher movie loving country, it will probably be a hit. Nobody got my point above. I don’t care how many women he dates. I said if a woman did the same thing, she wouldn’t get the thumbs up that he does. I hope you’re gloating!!!

      • Lex says:

Who is this 8 year old??

Also his peak hotness was The Departed hands down. Hot dayyyyyum

  29. lucy2 says:

“The film is allegedly about the changing landscape of Hollywood at that time, and not really about the Manson murders.”
    Sure Jan.

I will never see this, it seems disrespectful and exploitative. In the hands of a different director, I could maybe see it being done tactfully, but QT is a violence obsessed perv. No thanks.

    • Nancy says:

Supposedly, the murders and Manson brought about the end of the love generation, the hippies, Woodstock, etc. All the movie stars of the day were scared to death and armed themselves well. At the time they didn’t know who killed Sharon or her friends…..Jay Sebring was probably more well known than she as a hairdresser to the “stars.” This story has been told, but Tarantino loves a good cold hearted murder movie. Sighs all around.

    • Ally says:

QT has never shown himself capable of subtlety without exploitative violence layered on top. He has no capacity to handle this material intelligently or sensitively.

His views on the Polanski situation make him worse than the Guardians of the Galaxy guy and that guy just got canned, while QT goes on filming this steampile (I guess it’s fine cause he said it on the radio and not on Twitter?). Also, his treatment of Uma Thurman is equivalent to assault, in my opinion. It’s a matter of centrimetres that she isn’t dead or in a wheelchair today. A pox on Leo and Brad and Margot for using their star power to try to rehabilitate him.

  30. Katebush says:

I’ll watch it I enjoy most movies with these two in it.
Brad suits the cool 70s vibe as well.

  31. Ellis says:

It’s interesting how over the course of the last few decades J.Q. Public has been groomed to embrace misogynistic directors as “brilliant”, misogynistic actors as “good actors”, and macho misogynist themed movies as desirable. I don’t care if this is dubbed by the mysterious powers that be as the best movie ever made, I’d done with the excuses to gather the good old boys in all the best roles – no matter how “good-looking”, with the obligatory attractive, female sex-object(s). Done.

  32. Mrs. Darcy says:

I was never into young Brad Pitt, so seeing him age doesn’t upset me, in fact it makes me respect him a tiny bit more for not going the Tom Cruise waxwork route. I think it was unfortunate he was compared to Redford so young because they worked together and there was a small resemblance, to me they never really seemed that similiar. Redford aged impeccably, not as well as Paul Newman but there is a grace in ageing, I wish we let both men and women age with the same standards though. This movie does not interest me at all especially given Tarantino’s abusive skeevy background of violence towards women on his sets, are we supposed to forget what he did to Uma? No thanks.

  33. Julia says:

The issue of parental alienation appears to have been raised by the Court, this is serious
