Here in Eastern European countries we pronounce the J-names as Y. Such as: Jagoda=Yagoda, Justyna=Youstina, Jan=Yan. I have heard about Jelena Dokić the tennins player before and she was big in Australian Open. Bless Gigi’s heart.

My friend pronounces her name Yagoda but it is spelled Jagoda. In the US we would use the hard J, that’s what I meant.

This is somewhat embarrassing to admit, but her mom used to refer to her as Gigi when she was on RHBH before Gigi became a model, so I think you’re correct.
Aww. A lot of my friends call me Gigi, since my first and last names begin with a G, my maiden and married name. I always kind of liked it. But in the end, I prefer my given name.

I’m fortunate enough to have met Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a group of other people once, and I believe she is going to continue her life’s work faithfully. The court should not be politicized, and I hope we can move forward as a country to eradicate the authoritarian-leanings and dark money that are forcing in court members who will vote one way or another. That goes against the whole purpose of the independent judicial branch.
