It was widely believed/known that Donald Trump didn’t announce his candidacy for president out of a true desire to BE president. Trump ran because he wanted to “have fun” and spread his racism, xenophobia and ignorance to as many people as possible. He wanted to be an even bigger celebrity. He wanted… a better TV deal. Initially, many people thought his goal was to get a better deal from NBC. As the campaign moved on, there was the strong possibility that he wanted his very own TV channel, Trump TV. But what really spurred him on? Gwen Stefani. At least that’s the story Michael Moore is telling.
Michael Moore has made the startling claim that Gwen Stefani was the reason Donald Trump ran for the presidency. The Fahrenheit 11/9 alleged in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday that Trump, 72, decided to announce his candidacy for president after he learned Stefani, 48, made more money as a coach on NBC’s The Voice than he did when he starred on The Apprentice. Moore, 64, claimed Trump organized his infamous Trump Tower campaign announcement as a way to show NBC he was more popular. NBC began airing The Apprentice in 2004.
“He’d been talking about running for president since 1998, but he didn’t really want to be president,” Moore told THR. “There’s no penthouse in the White House. And he doesn’t want to live in a black city. He was trying to pit NBC against another network, but it just went off the rails.”
A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. Despite Trump’s attempt to one-up the network, NBC cut ties with the business mogul following his comments about Mexican nationals. A rep for Stefani did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Yeah, I can see that. I don’t think it was entirely about Stefani’s paycheck, but probably more like a general feeling that he was losing relevance as a “personality/celebrity,” and he thought running would be “fun.” I truly believe that he thought he would half-ass it for six months and then walk away. But then Putin’s henchmen came in and were like “well, we could help you, you know.” Still, I expect Bob Mueller to subpoena Gwen Stefani at any moment.

Gwen Stefani has nothing to do with this… I hope. I think Donald Trump wants relevbacy and the feeling importance of “celebrity”, and hearing Gwen Stafani is more popular than he is would be a shake in the boots. She’s alright.
Donald Trump is a winer. In addition, he got what he deserves as a “celebrity”. Except for the wrong reasons. He will not be famous, he will be infamous.
This is the biggest con of modern era at least how i see it. What happened and how did it came to be will be an object of many researchers.

EZ has talked about running for President for years, IIRC he tried in the 90s back when he was still a Democrat and they slapped him down. I personally think he was spurned on this time by A) Putin calling in his debt and B) he was offended that a black man, who won the office twice, dared to mock him. Everything about Obama offended that orange POS.
This is totally believable. He’s a whiner and it probably irked him to find out Gwen made more money. All the cool kids know who Gwen is but Trump. Eh. Not so much. Now people far and wide know his name but for being loathsome.
I can totally picture him seeing what she gets. He probably was kicking and screaming on the floor. Maybe someone said Gwen was more famous than he. He probably soiled himself at this point.

I do think republicans/conservatives are triggered by the amount of money celebs and athletes make. They have to stomp on, cheat and mistreat their workers when someone can write a song in 15 minutes or shoot hoops and make money and get fans like crazy. You know that is what really triggers them. That is what they believe is not fair. They think they are the ones who deserve it all.
That sounds like baloney to me. Of course he’s propelled by his greed for attention, fame, and money. But to run for president?
If you saw his face at the Correspondent’s dinner, it said everything you need to know about him. Obama zinged him publically, with that fantastic Lion King clip, which was about the funniest thing I’d ever seen. It was inspired and a brilliant moment. The audience loved it and roared with laughter— laughter at Trump. All those people were laughing at him, which is the worst thing you can do to him. He will mock and ridicule everyone else, but no one is allowed to ridicule him. I think that might have been the worst moment of his life. The cameras showed his reaction. Everyone around him was doubled over with laughter, and he sat there fuming and glaring. It’s astounding he could restrain himself, since he has no impulse control. That’s when he decided to “get even” with Obama.
Trump’s mind is twisted into knots. There’s nothing “normal” about him. It’s taken all these decades, but he’s finally outed as a con man. It’s the one thing he’s good at. He’s just reached his expiration date and it’s about damn time.
It sounds completely ridiculous….so it probably is true. Trump is this petty.
Yeah sure blame a woman, no matter he tried years before, is the woman’s fault for being so popular and daring to make more money… smh
