Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano have been together since 2007. They keep such a low profile that we barely hear about them. They may be due to their level of fame, they’re both indie actors, but they could easily capitalize on their relationship. Zoe has an official Instagram, Paul does not. She does post photos with him at events but it’s all very subdued. Paul just confirmed on The Tonight Show that they had a baby in August, a little girl whose name he didn’t reveal. Zoe and Paul managed to keep both her pregnancy and the birth a total secret. (Last month Page Six ran an article about it but not a lot of outlets picked it up. Update: they reported the baby’s name is Alma.) Zoe is small and wears a lot of loose-fitting clothing, so that makes sense.
Paul is promoting his directorial debut, Wildlife, for which he co-wrote the screenplay with Zoe. (It’s an adaptation of a Richard Ford novel.) It stars Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal and has been out in limited release for a couple of weeks. Here’s a link to the trailer. Critics love it and it has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Here’s what Paul said on The Tonight Show. Fallon called the baby beautiful but Paul didn’t share a photo on camera or anything.
Paul Dano confirmed that he and his partner, Zoe Kazan, welcomed a baby girl, their first child. On Wednesday’s “Tonight Show,” host Jimmy Fallon initiated the conversation by congratulating Dano on the birth “eight weeks ago.”
Fallon said, “She’s gorgeous, by the way. What a beautiful, beautiful little baby. How’s it feel to be a dad?”
Dano responded, “Um, I’m so tired and I’m so in love. It’s so extreme. Your heart has gone like supernova in one sense. And then we landed from London last week and she cried for like 24 straight hours and you kind of just want to walk through a wall.”
I barely remember the first few months of my son’s life and am glad I took a lot of pictures. Paul explained the early stages of parenting so well, that it’s both amazing and exhausting at the same time.
This story reminds me of Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel, who have been married since 2014 and have a baby together. We never hear about them. (Also Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his wife but she’s not famous.) It just goes to show that some celebrities can reveal what they want to the press and when. Congratulations to Paul and Zoe! I doubt we’ll be seeing baby photos anytime soon.

I’m really fond of both of them. I enjoy their movies and I love how low key they are. I know they’re not huge household names or anything but I think the interest would be there if they tried to put their relationship out there and I’m glad they don’t. I didn’t realize they’ve been together since 2007!
Around the time Rashida’s baby news came out, I heard about them having a secret abby. Apparently her name is Alma.

They’re so impressive, both creatively and how they keep it low-key. Hugh Dancy and Claire Danes are similarly quiet (I think they had a baby at the end of August as well). But I love that these two collaborate.
I have seen everything Dano has been involved in professionally…AND I ADORE HIM!!!! So talented…and SUCH A HEAVY HITTER AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE! When you’re barely pass the legal age to drink…and you can stand up to Daniel Day Lewis on the screen…and STILL BE SEEN….that means…YOU GOT WEIGHT!!!!
And Zoe is one of my FAVORITES! Whenever she’s on screen…is ALWAYS a great time for me!

Agreed! He is incredibly talented, as is she. I thought he was great in Little Miss Sunshine as well. I remember a movie they did together (the title escapes me) that she wrote and they starred in. He was a novelist and she was the novel’s character come to life. He could change her through the way he wrote her. It was such an interesting and original film, I really enjoyed it.

I love these two, but even I will admit that the main reason, on top of the fact that they’re low key, they (and before them Bledel/Kartheiser) managed to keep it top secret is because nobody is really checking for them – and I say that with affection! They turn up and do their work. Then they go home and we enjoy their work and that’s it and that’s probably how it should be.
I like the name – it’s pretty and old fashioned and I’m sure she’ll have a ball with all the little Ethels, Enids, Hazels, Henries and Arthurs at school one day!

Wow her family is famous. Her grandfather is the Elia Kazan and her mom is director Robin Swicord (Winona’s version of Little Women)! I’m impressed.
I don’t know anything about either of them but she is sooo strikingly beautiful in all of these photos and then I got down to the pink and black floral dress and it was just B.A.D. on all levels.
I love Zoe and Paul! I remember how surprised I was when I first read that they had been a couple for so long because how low key they are. As a matter of fact, I think they’re probably my favorite little hipster couple!
