Lindsay Lohan: ‘I’m a good person. I take care of myself. I’m healthy’

Cenotaph Remembrance Parade

There does seem to be some low-key Lindsay Lohan nostalgia, and perhaps her larger absence from the daily gossip cycles has led people to whitewash her old drama. Like, I won’t deny that Lindsay was “good for gossip.” She made my job easier. She was a gossip cottage industry for years, and one of the biggest headlines and trainwrecks. So when did it all change? I think it was when she moved to Europe, and then Dubai, and she stopped pretending to even have an acting career. I tend to believe that she’s supported herself through attachments to wealthy, shady men. And those are the kinds of liaisons which need discretion, so she began to be a bit quieter to protect her income. That’s when people just started losing interest. It’s not that Lindsay changed, it’s that we got bored with her. She’s still the same cracked-out drama queen as always. And her Paper Magazine interview proves it. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

She doesn’t know why she gets such negative press: “I would love to know why I get constantly clobbered in the press. I could do 99 things right and one thing wrong, but it’s that one thing that will be focused on. Behind the scenes I do what I can to be the best version of me, which never gets mentioned. I am also human. I make mistakes. That’s all that seems to get reported.”

Why she lives in Dubai:“It’s not that much of a thing here [in Dubai]. People don’t emphasize negativity.” Instead, she says, the city is a “health-conscious place” that “promotes positivity and a positive attitude. It’s not like New York, the city that never sleeps.”

The paparazzi. “In America, even once they get the picture, they still follow you. It does bring out a serious kind of anxiety.” She adds that in Mykonos, where one of her Lohan Beach House resorts is located, there are only two paparazzi, and she knows both of them.

The Lohan Beach House is family-friendly: “I really wanted to make it a family-style beach. A place where people can go with their kids and feel safe. They can have fun and there’s not cameras every second. It’s not just a party thing; you can have a nice lunch.”

She’s a homebody now: “I am who I am. I’m a good person. I take care of myself. I’m healthy. I like to have fun, but that doesn’t mean I need to go out and drink and be crazy. I have a good relationship with that. It’s funnier to watch other people party. My brother and his wife came out to Mykonos and everyone wanted to go out every night, but I pretty much just went home; some of my friends didn’t want to go out, so they’d come and I’d cook. I like cooking for people and having people over and listening to good music.”

What she thinks of MeToo: “I don’t really get involved in that. I’m all for empowering women and sticking by each other, but I’m not really — I haven’t experienced a lot of that stuff, so it’s not something I can really quote on.”

All she’s ever wanted to do is work: “That was kind of taken away from me for a while, when I was going through a lot. I was spending money on going to treatment centers because the court was making me. It was hard for me to continue working, because when would I even find the time? I love working with kids and I love giving back,” she says, but “people don’t like talking about the good stuff. It’s really crazy to me and makes me really sad. A lot of people do a lot of good things for other people, and it’s like a flash in the pan, where if it’s something negative it sticks with you forever.”

Aliana Lohan is “buzzing” around the photoshoot: She’s already visited Dubai five times, she says, echoing Lindsay’s comments that the people there are “so, so kind. Including those Saudi princes,” she adds with a playful grin.

On that recent incident where she live-streamed herself as she tried to kidnap children: She offers a statement later through a rep over email: “I read the situation wrong. I’ve learned from it. And that’s all I have to say.”

[From Paper Magazine]

I mean… it’s the same old narcissism, the same old lies. She’s always said that she’s just a simple homebody who doesn’t even like to party – and then she gets high and wrecks a car, or throws a drink on someone at a club, or tries to drunkenly kidnap children on the street. When her MTV show blows up in her face, we’ll hear the same things then too. As for Aliana…that poor child never had a chance.

MTV released the first trailer for Lindsay’s reality show. This looks SO BAD.

What does that Saudi price comment even mean *shakes head as already knows the answer*

    • Esmom says:

I know, I kinda gasped at that. So creepy, not to mention tone deaf.

    • Mia4s says:

That comment made my stomach drop. Seriously. I mean….we all suspect what’s gone on all along, but the younger one too? Ugh, seriously I’m nauseous.

      • SK says:

Listen, that’s not necessarily what that comment means. I used to live in the Gulf and I had/have a bunch of friends who were sheiks. I certainly wasn’t pimping myself out! We went on a lot of boats, got free trips to the desert, went helicopter skydiving, etc. and it was awesome; but these guys are generous and they want to share. They knew 100% we were just friends. The ho’s are something else. They certainly exist and are around but they don’t tend to mix the ho’s with their platonic female friends so much. Hanging out with Saudi princes doesn’t automatically mean you’re banging them. A lot of these guys don’t really work, they have a lot of free time and a lot of money and they want to have fun. Whether that’s through adventure activities, parties, driving you to tourist spots, or playing endless rounds of Uno. I don’t like this idea that men from the gulf only hang out with western women if those women are banging them because it isn’t true.

Also, this picture she paints of Dubai is hilarious to me. Health-conscious?? No gossip??? Arabs are the gossipiest people ever!! I know, I have a huge group of Arab friends. Too funny!

    • Anastasia says:

Yep. But she’s got nothing to say about #MeToo. She’s in such hard denial.

      • Melly says:

That just made me feel sad for her. You KNOW she’s had more MeToo moments then she can possibly remember, but she just suppresses and denies that stuff.

      • Noely says:

Denial and possibly wanting to “protect” her source of income? (assuming her source of income is what we are all suspecting)

She probably does have a lot of horrible stories, but if she speaks out she would no longer be easy company for “Saudi princes” and they would just move on to the next girl.

      • Kathryn says:

Exactly @ Melly. For how young she was when she started living in Hwood by herself (I think 17/18 at the most) and the people she was surrounded by, it’s sad to think but I’m sure she was taken advantage of on more than several occasions. And she’s put all that trauma in a box.

    • whatWHAT? says:

gross and sad. I’m shocked that she said it out loud, though.

    • raincoaster says:

It means if the dirt on him ever comes out he’ll go Full Khashoggi on her.

  2. Incredulous says:

    Sure, Jan.

  3. Chaine says:

So she doesn’t actually own this beach resort, does she? Is it some kind of fake thing set up by MTV, or is she licensing her name to some stupid people in another country that think she is a good brand? Or does her sugar daddy own the resort?

Also, shudder at Ali and the Saudi princes.

    • OriginalLala says:

Ali and the princes also made me shudder – poor girl, her family did not protect her at all as a kid.

    • Esmom says:

I can’t for the life of me imagine anyone I know even entertaining the idea of going to a “Lohan” resort. Especially a family with kids, even if they do a nice lunch, lol.

And yeah the princes comment is horrifying.

      • Chaine says:

True, when I think Lohan “family,” I think of her dad and his awful wife that keeps getting arrested for beating him up.

  4. grabbyhands says:

“I would love to know why I get constantly clobbered in the press. I could do 99 things right and one thing wrong, but it’s that one thing that will be focused on. ”

Maybe because most people’s one thing isn’t affecting a made up accent and spitting up the two words of a language you don’t speak but heard somewhere once in an attempt to steal two children from their parents in the middle of the night (filming yourself the whole time) and then crying about it later like YOU’RE the injured party. Maybe that.

Just try to be grateful that people still want to give you the time of day for some reason. Try not to waste yet another undeserved opportunity to do something positive for yourself.

    • Erinn says:

And how she kept blaming the black kids for stealing things she stole. And for the fact that she’s never just owned up to her own bad behavior.

Honestly – with the kinds of chances this girl has had, if she’d have just started OWNING UP to the crap things she’s done, there would be a lot more good will in her life.

  5. anniefannie says:

    4 words…”doth protest too much…”

  6. hezzer19 says:

Whoever decided that that cover was a good idea should be punched in the face.

  7. Lexilla says:

Her brilliant career taken away because she had to spend time and money on stupid treatment centers as ordered by stupid courts. FOR NO REASON (except for crimes). Guys, focus on the real victim here.

    • Q T Hush says:

LOL👏🏼 Thank you for opening my eyes to poor LL’s victimization by the press and her peers. Talk about a cat having nine lives, Lins seems to have an infinite amount at her disposal, I have to ask why she’s still considered a “thing”.

  8. RBC says:

On one hand I am curious as to how Lindsay supports herself, but on the other hand maybe it is best the world never knows the truth

    • Egla says:

I think I might know how. I just want to know why? Why did she go so low with an already blooming career? And why someone would pay her for “favours” when there are already a lot of stunning girls doing that job. But then, there are men who would go lower than low…she is lower

  9. CharliePenn says:

I like the cover, it’s leaning in to her boob situation. Like, she accepts her boobs for what they are and that’s probably the one thing I admire about her hahah.
Her excuses about how she couldn’t work… how things were “taken” from her… woman please. She had everything handed to her over and over and over. But sure if that is what she wants to think… go ahead Lindsay… she’s delusional. But I always do find her interesting because she’s so wacky and cracky. And I have to say, I like her face on that cover.

    • Kitten says:

I mean for all the times that people have accused her of having fake boobs..I think the past 3 years have proven once and for all that they’re real.

She will never ever take responsibility for her terrible life choices. Sad.

      • Veronica S. says:

It actually looks to me like the damage caused by having falsies for awhile and then removing them with a proper lift. I have large breasts and am in my thirties, and while they’re not perfectly perky, they’re in better condition than hers. Girl has just wrecked her body with plastic surgery, that’s for sure.

    • Anastasia says:

Ha, yes, I thought the same thing.

First thought: God, those boobs, why?

Second thought: You know what? Good for her, I guess. They’re just boobs and she obviously doesn’t give a shit.

  10. Ronaldinhio says:

Somethings that happened in childhood plus massive fame plus huge a drug habit plus lip service in all the treatment centres plus how she’s made her money since = completely delusional, MH issues that are no longer situational

  11. Debby says:

I legit thought that was Rose McGowan on first glance. Yes Lindsay, you’ve taken so good care of yourself that I mistook you for a woman 13 years older than you who had to have major reconstructive surgery on her face after a car accident.

  12. lara says:

I feel sorry for her. Reading her comment on #Metoo “I haven’t experienced a lot of that stuff” I think she has been abused and sold out from such a young age (12 years when her first movie came out?), that she still considers these kind of behavior as normal. Which would explain her current source of income and all her other problems. Combined with parents who only saw her as a possibility to make money and surrounded by drugs and enablers?
I think she never really had a chance.

  13. Murphy says:

What’s up with Paper–are they going to have Mischa Barton next week?

  14. Jen says:

I think I left a similar comment on another article about her this summer, but nope. My friend worked with her a lot in Greece over the summer and she’s apparently still the same unprofessional, hard partying nightmare she’s always been. I think his words were “I’ve never met anyone more difficult to work with or more delusional in my life.”

Also, she used her Oprah docuseries as an example of how she’s “changed?” Um, did you watch it, Lindsay?

    • Tiffany :) says:

It’s not surprising that she’s exactly the same. She takes no accountability and she’s always treated others horribly.

  15. skipper says:

I’m just shocked that MTV is allowing this to continue considering that she tried to kidnap children while she was clearly under the influence of something. I guess as long as the viewers keep watching then that’s all that really matters to MTV. Money talks, right?

  16. ChillyWilly says:

Wow. This poor girl is permanently damaged. She is so I’m denial about effed up her life is. She is always the victim and nothing is ever her fault. Typical addict. And I am not surprised she is pimping out her little sister. It’s pretty tragic.

  17. Khy says:

Wow i remember when she was beautiful and could actually act . she just threw it all away.

  18. Shannon says:

Wow – that comment about Saudi princes. YIKES. I think I can skip breakfast this morning.

  19. Tiffany says:

I asked this question everytime, how the hell has she managed to live not only abroad with no work visa or proof of income, but managed to stay in Dubai all this time.

  20. OG Cleo says:

I’m sure Dubai is a very positive place to live in if you’re able to look past the slave labor…

  21. Sunshine says:

I find it interesting she’s gone back to pronouncing her last name as Low-Han… I remember when she first got famous she made such a stink about it being pronounced “Lowen”… I guess that changes just as much as her fake accents.

  22. mela says:

She, like the kardashians, wrecked her face with fillers.

  23. Amelie says:

I mean isn’t the assumption she’s been working as a high end escort for wealthy billionaires? It’s the only thing she can do after becoming blacklisted from the movie/tv industry due to her antics involving DUIs, drugs, and alcoholism.

  24. katrine troelsen says:

She victimblames, so she is NOT a good person. Period.

  25. Red Weather Tiger says:

It’s laughable that she thinks we will believe that she lives in Dubai to avoid the constant slew of paparazzi here. Once upon a time, sure. But I don’t believe for one moment that if Lindsay moved back to New York that anyone would want to follow her around. Your narrative is full of fleas, Lindsay.

  26. IMUCU says:

I thought the cover was her doing some Joan Crawford type thing…wanna hear a good Christmas song? Listen to “Lohan Holiday.” 😉

  27. bears says:

Dina Lohan is a really terrible Kris Jenner.

  28. Meg says:

She looks like a trashy new york housewife from one of those bravo shows

  29. MoGrianach says:

Dear Lindsay, you’re not, you don’t and good god woman you’re delusional.
