Taylor Swift launched her app, The Swift Life, in December 2017. It was supposed to be a fun subscription app for the true-blue Snake Fam, full of never-before-seen videos, photos and commentary. The app also featured an in-house platform for the Snake Fam to talk to one another, like its own little social media platform. About 24 hours after the app launched, The Swift Life became home to some of the most Deplorable commentary this side of Facebook. At the time, Taylor had not talked about politics, nor had she taken the time to shut down her neo-Nazi fanbase (which she still hasn’t done, just FYI). So, Republicans, Deplorables, fascists and neo-Nazis suddenly felt like they had a home, and that home was The Swift Life. Thirteen months later, and The Swift Life is dead.

Taylor Swift is following in the footsteps of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters and shutting down her app. The app, named The Swift Life, announced the news on its Twitter account that as of Feb. 1, it won’t be available for download. It was launched last year in partnership with Swift’s “Reputation” album release.

“Over a year ago, we launched The Swift Life alongside Taylor’s critically acclaimed, 6th studio album, ‘Reputation,’” the statement read. “It provided a creative and inclusive place for Taylor and her fans to connect with each other while expressing themselves in a uniquely interactive community.” The statement continued, “As the ‘Reputation’ era comes to an end, our time on The Swift Life will be ending too.”

Current users will be able to utilize the virtual currency they have until Feb. 1, but in-app purchases already have been disabled.

“We would like to thank all the dedicated fans who downloaded The Swift Life, engaged with this amazing community and created gorgeous pieces of content for others to enjoy,” the statement concluded.

What’s a little bit funny – to me – is that Kim Kardashian and her sisters are shutting down their apps too, only they announced it before Swift. Kim and her sisters had their apps before Taylor, and Taylor totally copied Kim’s “Kimoji” idea with her in-app “Taymojis.” So maybe Taylor just got tired of looking like she was copying her enemy, and so she quit her app right after Kim quit her app? I don’t know, but it’s definitely weird timing. Broke: apps. Woke: quitting your app and throwing lavish holiday parties.

Ever since the NYE photos came out, I feel like she looks different. Aside from the costume, I couldn’t tell that was her as little mermaid. Some features look fuller and her eyes aren’t as squinty. Nice work, Taylor!

in the second pic here, she looks bizarrely like Scarlett Johannsen!

Agreed! Part of it might be that she’s not wearing the heavy cat-eye liner that never worked for her in the first place?? Her lips look a little inflated too 🤔 What do I know. The only time I see pics of her is when I happen to click on an article here.

But more importantly, yeah, it’s total BS that she didn’t shut that Nazi sh*t down hard, right away. My mom was telling me that she’s a good role model for young girls and I tried to explain this. Hell no. I don’t have kids but if I did, TS would NOT be idolized on my watch.

Subtle impermanent “work” with botox and fillers. Looks a little brow lifty via botox and she gets some fillers +/- botox to lift her cheekbones and make them more pronounced a la Kim K btw.

I think she had a chin implant. it’s changed the shape of her face. And has enhanced her upper lip which was always quite thin compared to her lower lip.

I also couldn’t recognize her as little mermaid. And it wasn’t because of the hair

I don’t think she looks that different. One of the major changes is that she used to rim her upper and lower lash lines, which definitely made her eyes looks smaller. She had also lost a lot of weight during the Calvin Harris time, and she’s gained a decent amount since then. It’s definitely made a difference in her appearance, and I think for the better. She looked almost too thin for a while there. She has a heavy brow area, which looks like she’s finally doing makeup to make it look lighter.

I mean, I’m not saying she hasn’t been tweaked a bit. But I don’t think there’s some BIG change in her appearance other than weight/makeup. If she’s messed with her face, I don’t think she’s gotten a lot done.

Only difference I see is she lost the baby fat in her cheeks. But it filled out in a more womanly way with age and her being less model thin. That can really change your face. When women get older, their eyes either get bigger or smaller. Mine got bigger. Plus, makeup is different now. I looked at a pic of myself from three years ago compared to now (fuller eyebrows, more defined eye shadows, matte lip colors) and combined with my face hollowed out more, I look different too. You can clearly see more contouring makeup too that wasn’t a trend back in the day. Her Billboard awards look is very contoured. She has her faults I pick on, but one of the things I will disagree on is facial enhancements. If she’s had any done, it seems really minor, like her teeth. Her boobs on the other hand are way more obvious, but even so, honestly, who cares lol. She has money and can do whatever she wants.

Kind of off topic, but I appreciate that her post was placed right above Jake Gyllenhal’s, so you can see them both on the phone screen at the same time while scrolling. The subtlety of it makes me side-eye. Lol

I vote for brow lift and/or another eye job. Her eyes are completely different from when she first became famous.

Her bangs are exactly the cut I’ve been trying to get, but not as successfully. They really suit her.
