Don’t get why you want to ignore Bernie Sanders, a guy who’s always been on the right side of history.
As a black woman, I don’t care what colour or sex he is- the guy speaks to people of colour and the working class who have been ignored for too long.
As a black women myself, I totally agree as well. Bernie Sanders have a lot of young black supporters that is often overlooked.
Not this Black woman. He strikes me as not much different than Trump on the left. (1) He’s a grifter. The Sanders Foundation did nothing but enrich the Sanders Family and it’s being shutdown just as he’s finally receiving the scrutiny he didn’t receive in 2016. Because her emails. (2) He has been promising to release his tax returns since 2016. All we’ve seen are summaries for a couple of years. Why? (3) He touts his Civil Rights activism which was localized and effectively ended in 1963. Lots of photos circulated by his followers during the Civil Rights Movement isn’t even him: it’s Bruce Rappaport. Then he fled to lily white Vermont which has the highest rate in the country of adult black male incarceration, and it has the third highest rate of incarceration for African-Americans overall. Only 1 percent of the population in Vermont is African-American but 11 percent of its prison population is black. Yet Sanders claimed to not know this, and explained drug arrest rates with the statement: “Aren’t most of the people who sell the drugs African American?” And he thinks that white people who “felt uncomfortable” voting for black candidates Stacey Abrams and Andrew Gillum in the 2018 midterms are not “necessarily racist,” (4) He has little to no legislative accomplishments in 30 years save the naming of two Post Offices. He’s all talk and no action. Big no from me.
Thank you for coming with actual facts, Marias. People are all caught up in the Bernie Show and don’t bother to look deeper to see there’s nothing of substance behind it.

Kamala Harris has a scary track record on criminal justice. She and Cory are both Wall St / corp dems. I like Cory Booker’s stuff on animals but they are both super in it with AIPAC and that means aggressive foreign policy in the ME. Why does the US give Israel $10 million a day in military spending aid when your infrastructure is crumbling…?

Bernie Sanders annoys me too. Too much pandering to only working class white males during 2015-2016. I’ll still vote for him over Trump but I don’t trust him.
Bernie has an undeniably loyal and surprisingly large base of supporters all over the country and he’s almost neck-and-neck with Biden in some polls. Makes me wonder why people around here aren’t pushing for Bernie and not Biden as The Only Candidate Who Can Beat Trump.

Not a Sanders fan at all, and I think he and Biden are leading because of name recognition. Once the debates start I don’t think he is going to look good next to Warren, Harris, Buttigieg, for example.
He won’t look good to US but he WILL to his base. IDK guys…I think he’ll probably be in it till the end, especially if he gets away with not releasing his taxes.

Gotta say, as a Canadian you guys really have to get over this fear of socialism. It’s really counter productive. So many social programs you guys are missing out on to make life better for more people — why? Because “socialism”. The fear of socialism is just a tool the wealthy right uses to keep itself rich and prevent everyone else from being treated fairly. Stop playing into their hands. Socialism has to stop being considered a dirty word. I’m not saying you need to become socialist, just stop fearing it.

Maternity leave or healthcare insurance for all are simply basic good in modern western societies. They make life so much better. The only ones who don’t like it are the ueber-rich because these things cost money which they would rather not invest into the average Joe.
