That’s what I thought too. I still think of her as too young for inclusion on this list, but at age 22 I know I felt super grown-up. It’s the mom in me thinking of her as a child still. Agree with “YAY” for female scientists and more opportunities for women to get that education.

My son was telling me about this and he was really excited about it. This is really cool and important.
The way they maneuvered scopes around the planet, collated and parsed data to get the image is extremely impressive. It’s hard to imagine black holes have never been truly seen until now so I look forward to more event horizons. Black holes are scary, mysterious and so frakking huge and knowing every galaxy is believed to have one is disturbing lol. Seriously. Light can’t escape? Black holes and supernovas…. We’re never getting out alive.

I took some classes in college and needles to say, the math buried me alive lol. I could write about it for light years, but understanding it? No. Kudos to your daughter! This project was ten years in the making, so now that the analytics are in place, maybe we can begin to see much more in the future.

I really think it was Wendy’s pride at that point. She was not exactly kind to other women who were victims of adultery and the gossip surrounding it is her bread and butter.
It’s always different when you are on the receiving in. And on such a public scale.

The black hole photo is amazing! It’s a cool enough story on its own, but it’s made even better by the scientist who made it happen being a woman. What a wonderful example for young boys and girls to see.

Arya and Gendry feels icky to me. The actor Joe Dempsie didn’t like people shipping them, he said it made him really uncomfortable to hear people pairing him up with Maisie. In the books they are much closer in age but not in the show. Okay Arya is not 12 anymore but …. no.
FYI – CRISPR was invented by two women. It’s probably going to be the biggest scientific breakthrough of my time. If someone invents faster than the speed of light space travel before I die I’ll change my mind.
