Stuff you didn’t know you needed like a seat that cools your butt and a trunk organizer

amazon_carcacheheader
This is mostly car stuff! A few days ago I saw an ad for the first product below, The Car Cache, and have been thinking about how much I need it. Plus I cleaned out my car for spring and keep thinking there’s more I could do. There are also a couple of other products I’ve seen that could be useful. I’m trying not to buy everything I put on these posts but it’s really hard. Also I’ve been asking people for Amazon product recommendations! My hairdresser told me today that he also got a Waterpik, I’ve been talking about that as I bought it after posting it here, but that he got special rubber attachments recommended by his dentist. He loves them and recommends them.

Keep your purse right at hand in the car
amazon_carcache
Now that I know this product exists I keep thinking of it when I’m driving! Like wouldn’t it be nice not to have to reach back for your purse every time you get out of the car and to also have it sitting upright so it never spills? The Car Cache is a net that hangs between your front seats to keep your purse and other items right next to you while you’re driving. I know you technically shouldn’t be reaching for your purse while you’re driving, but sometimes you do. Also it would be nice to keep it in the same place all the time so you know where it is. People say “That’s the last time I’ll clean up my dumped over purse,” that this “works extremely well exactly [like] the description” and is “very easy to install.”

An organizer for your car trunk
amazon_carorganizer
Who else thinks their car trunk is organized now that there are a couple of plastic bins in there? I really need something like this with multiple compartments for all the junk I keep like first aid kids, drinks and snacks (for emergencies), umbrellas, picnic gear and reusable shopping bags. This large organizer has different pockets, panels and areas to organize just about everything. It even has straps for stability. If you’re on the fence watch the video! Reviewers call this “really useful,” say it’s “sturdy” and a “decent size” and “fits A TON of stuff.” This even folds up for easy storage.

A cooling seat for your car
amazon_zonetech
I have a car with black leather seats. They’re heated and are awesome in the winter. In the summer I have to put a towel on my seat because it hurts my legs when I wear shorts or a short skirt. Plus my butt sweats and it can be unsightly in some outfits. I didn’t even know this product existed and it’s only $40! Users call this seat with built in cooling fans “exactly what I needed,” and say it works just as advertised to keep your back and legs cool on hot leather seats. One person says it still works great even a year later. You can even use it at the office.

Eliminate odors naturally without chemicals
amazon_charcoalbags
Car air fresheners can smell like perfume and toxic chemicals, but you still need a way to get those food and dog odors out of your car. (Also, why do farts just stay in the car forever?) These bags don’t just cover up bad smells, they eliminate them with natural charcoal. People say these bamboo charcoal air purifying bags eliminated terrible odors in their cars and homes like spoiled meat, lingering smoke and paint fumes.

A car garbage bin for your car that’s easily accessible
amazon_canvaswastebasket
I have a little car garbage bin that hangs over the passenger seat in the back. It’s supposed to clip on but it’s always coming off and is essentially useless. This bin fits right in the passenger seat or back and sits upright for easy accessibility. It comes with 50 bags too. People say this canvas garbage bag “holds position and is easy to set up,” that it “looks great” and holds a lot of trash.

A memory foam seat cushion for comfort on long trips
amazon_memoryfoamseat
My tailbone sticks out and often hurts when I drive or sit too long. I’ve always wanted a comfy add-on seat for the car and I think I may have found one. This has a 4.3 star rating and almost 200 reviews. People call this memory foam seat “comfortable, thin, with high quality materials” and say that it works great on an office chair too.

Don’t burn your hand when doing skillet to oven cooking
amazon_siliconesleeves
Here’s the one non-car product! I very rarely cook like this, from oven to stovetop, after a horrible accident that kept me up half the night with my hand in cold water. I followed a recipe that called for a cast iron pot to cook in the oven and finish on the stovetop. When I pulled it out of the oven of course I used a mit but then I forgot 5 minutes later on the top of the stove. Now, whenever I see a recipe that calls for both oven and stovetop cooking I pass on it. These silicone pan handle sleeves can withstand temperatures up to 464 degrees. You won’t want to use them inside the oven but once your pan is on the stovetop you slip one over the handle to protect yourself. Reviewers call these easy to clean, say they fit well on all handles and are an “excellent product,” that provides a “good grip.” This comes with three brightly-colored silicone sleeves.

OMG I’m ordering that trunk organizer right now! I have always wanted something like this, but never looked and just assumed they would cost most than I want to spend. No more cantaloupes rolling around the trunk!!!!!!!!

I have that truck organizer and it’s great! I have a large SUV and it keeps things from rolling around in the back. It folds down flat too when you need the extra space.

I have a sturdy cardboard box in my trunk I use to put groceries in. It’s not fancy, and doesn’t fold up, but it works.

Oh I am ordering those silicone handles. I burned my hand once too when doing oven to stovetop cooking, and since then I leave the pot holder on the pan handle after taking it out of the oven as a reminder. So similar idea, but these seem more practical.

  5. Wow! Thank you for the shout-out for my Car Cache invention! I stand behind it 100%, so if you have any questions or suggestions please do not hesitate to call or text me at (859) 912-2747. Thank you! Catherine Seifert

I swear I was not contacted by her and that I saw this first I think on Instagram.

      • Actually, I just got my new packaging last November and have, basically, 1 Instagram ad running – am doing all the launch of my product by myself. So, a friend told me about Google Alerts to tell me when someone talks about my product – I just signed up this weekend… It worked! Yours is the first announcement I received – so amazing.
Thank you again for the outstanding shout-out!

@ CB-you TOTALLY had me at “Plus I cleaned out my car for spring”, ha! I want EVERYTHING in this post; I NEED and will order the charcoal bags and memory foam seat cushion. I’ve also had
problems with my tailbone after long trips, but I’ve recently lost
    over 100 lbs, and YIKES!!!!!

    Love these posts.

My car has seat air conditioners (built in) and I always forget to turn them on. They’re really nice when I do remember.

Those silicone pan handles I’ve used for years. Easily 10 years or so, and they still look new. They hold up really well, highly recommended.

    I need that trunk organizer.

Those charcoal bags are wonderful and have tons of uses. I put them in closets and my car to keep things smelling nice and they also absorb humidity. But my very favorite uses for them were when my sons were younger. I stuck them in sports bags, in stinky shoes, in helmets, gloves, and best of all in their bathroom. No matter how I cleaned there was always a urine smell from little boys who weren’t careful with their aim. So I hung a large charcoal bag in back of the toilet and problem solved!

I just ordered the seat cooler – for my dog! He’s a senior great dane who loves to be outside when I garden, but it can get too hot for him in the summer (even in the shade). I didn’t even know they made this and can’t wait to try it. Got an AC to DC converter too so I can plug it into a house socket. Thanks for the great idea!!
