Prince Harry & the Cambridges will all have to spend time with Donald Trump

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex attends the 2020 Invictus Games presentation

Donald Trump’s bigly trip the United Kingdom starts on June 3rd. How awful for all of our friends in the UK – I’m truly sorry, and please prepare yourselves. Donald Trump is a hideous, nasty ass wart when he’s stateside, but if anything, he’s so much worse when he’s abroad. I’m saying that he’s probably going to sexually assault a corgi. I’m sorry on behalf of all Americans. Not only is Trump going, he’s bringing all of his large adult children – Don Jr, Ivanka and Eric and Poor Tiffany. Prepare yourselves for Don Jr too, and Precious Ivanka’s fascistic baby-whispers of doom. Anyway, now that the state visit is really happening, plans are being solidified and announced. Unsurprisingly, Trump is getting face-time with all of the major royals, including Prince Harry:

Britain’s Prince Harry will join Queen Elizabeth II at a private lunch with Donald Trump and his wife Melania next month, CNN has learned.

The lunch takes place on the first day of the US President’s state visit to the UK. Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is not expected to attend. She has not resumed public engagements since the birth of their son Archie Harrison.

Historically, Harry has only participated in the state visit by Spain’s monarch, where he accompanied the Spanish delegation to Westminster Abbey. CNN’s royal source says that going forward, they hope to see the Sussexes participate in more state events.

[From CNN]

While Melania is useless and lazy, I’m glad she’ll be there as some kind of lazy, useless buffer. Harry’s met Melania before, and I would guess that they can make small talk about the weather in between Trump’s rants about the Wall and immigrants. And of course Meghan will still be on maternity leave! Bless her, she will be happy to avoid this one. I bet if Kate could claim she was still on maternity leave, she would do the same. Instead, Kate gets to be bribed with a borrowed tiara and probably a diamond necklace too, because Kate is scheduled to attend the state dinner for Trump:

Time to dust off the royal tiaras! Kate Middleton has only been seen in a tiara a handful of times, and on June 3, she’ll wear a sparkly topper once again for a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace for Donald Trump’s official State Visit to the U.K. The Queen will host a private lunch earlier in the day for the President and First Lady. Afterwards, Trump and his wife Melania will join Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for tea at their nearby residence, Clarence House.

Prince Harry is said to be joining the royals for the private lunch without wife Meghan Markle, who is currently on maternity leave after giving birth to their son Archie on May 6. Neither the Duke or Duchess of Sussex will be at the State Banquet later that evening. However, both Kate and Prince William will be in attendance.

[From People]

I joked on Twitter about how what the British tabloids’ headlines will be for the younger royals’ meetings with Trump. I imagine the headline for Harry will be: “Prince Harry SHOCK: Meets with White Supremacist Leader Behind MEGHAN’S BACK.” Meanwhile, the headline for Kate will be: “Future Queen Kate puts on a brave face whilst wearing glorious tiara and meeting self-confessed sexual assailant.”

    God save the Queen!

    • Lauren says:

And all the royals. I bet Trump insisted on meeting as many as he could this trip. Probably refused to visit without them.

I kind of like how he almost refused to visit Ireland because the Taoiseach didn’t want to host Trump at Trump’s golf course.

      • 90sgirl says:

Amazing how the British Royal press tried to make it only about Harry meeting Trump, when William and Kate will too. British press agenda so obvious.

I’m sure they’ll blame Meghan for something.

      • Megan says:

Will and Kate always attend state dinners. Those events are huge and probably very impersonal, which means very little time speaking to the trumps. Lunch is an entirely separate matter. Poor Harry will be trapped in a much smaller setting with those horrible people.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

If I was one of the younger ones, I’d be visiting hospitals all this week in hope of catching a really bad cold, so I could say, “Oops.. sorry… contagious…can’t come!” (Too dangerous for Liz & Phil, but they’re tough old birds that have met with worse).

      • Yvette says:

Yes, because the Obamas did and all the Royals liked them so much. Bigly feels he is more entitled than President Obama and wants to do everything Obama did so he can claim he did it better and much more Bigly.

I just hope that yellow Bigly pouting, diaper-wearing baby Trump balloon makes a public appearance every time the Orange One does. 🙂

      • 90sgirl says:

I wonder which Trump, Kate and William will walk in with? Or do they walk in with spouse?
Cameras rolling for all to see.

Also doesn’t Rose’s husband attend State dinners because of his title, position?
        This should be interesting.

Cambridges were a no show at Houghton event this year.

      • BayTampaBay says:

        Rose who??? LOL! LOL!

Looks like Rose “phased out” someone.

If there is nothing to the rumors, Bill & Cathy WOULD have been at the Houghton Horse Trials.

If there is something to the rumors then Bill & Cathy SHOULD have been at the Houghton Horse Trials.

How stupid can Bill & Cathy be?

      • Carolind says:

Yvette, what on earth does your second paragraph actually mean?

      • Anance says:

@90sgirl Good point and why Kate / Will are in the state dinner and not Charles & Camilla. It will be –

        William with Ivanka
        Kate with Kushner

    • Eliza says:

The Queen has met more evil men then Trump. Trump is horrible, and the royal family are no saints. Philip is racist and a cad, the Queen was supposedly pro Brexit (aka build walls, no freedom of moment), they quite happily accept jewels from king’s who abuse their people.

      • Lunde says:

The real fun is going to be the meeting between Trump and Charles as Charles loves to discuss his environmental agenda!

      • Peg says:

        @Lunde
Last year when they were talking about a State visit, Trump said he didn’t want to meet Charles, he preferred to meet K&W, like he can dictate how Buckingham Palace operates.

      • Megan says:

True, but I bet she has yet to meet someone evil enough to endorse Boris Johnson for PM. Someone should explain to Trump that not everyone named Boris is Russian.

      • Tina says:

@Eliza, I don’t know about the Queen. Her pro-European remarks from the 80s have just been declassified by the Germans, and she did wear that EU flag hat to the state opening of Parliament a couple of years ago. She keeps things pretty close to the vest.

      • Jen says:

Seriously. He’s probably a lot more uncouth than her usual, but she and her family are no saints.

    • Anance says:

Don’t worry. British aristocrats cut people with polite conversation. Unfortunately, the Trumps don’t get it nuances.

  2. Seraphina says:

Baw ha ha. Spot on Kaiser. Daily Mail had headline that Megs is snubbing Trump. My eyes rolled so hard they rolled into the back of my head. Anything Megs does gets negative twist. She can’t win for losing.

And why is his family going?!?!? Had this been Obama and he took his daughters good Lord only knows what they would have nastily written.

    • LizB says:

Yeah, I don’t understand why his 4 grown-@ss adult children are doing tagging along on this trip. It’s ridiculous.

      • Jerusha says:

Anytime they can rack up a vacation on the taxpayers’ dime, they will. Not that they’re not already on permanent vacation on our dime.
Maybe the ugly brothers can work in a fox hunt and slaughter some small creatures, rather than the large, endangered animals they love to murder.

      • Becks1 says:

It’s embarrassing. I can’t believe they are going and we have to foot the bill.

      • Nic919 says:

The last president with adult children while in office was George HW Bush and I don’t recall W or Jeb tagging on diplomatic visits. The dump family is trash and none of the adults should be involved but the GOP are cowards and letting this trash do what they want and pretend they are royalty. Hopefully one day there will be a reckoning.

      • ShazBot says:

I’m guessing it’s because they deem themselves important enough to attend a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace, but would never otherwise be invited.

      • Surly Gale says:

because t5he kids want to meet the Queen…c’mon now, get with the program, kids!

      • Jerusha says:

Here’s a breakdown, as of late 2018, of what DaughterWife and Ken Doll have cost us in SS protection. Uday and Qusay have also run up tremendous bills. They’re blowing our money like drunken sailors!

I read a weekend report that stated Mar-a-Lago has brought in half a billion for him in the past year.

      • Alyse says:

Isn’t it the UK who will be paying for them though? The extra security needed- and the extra burgers at the state dinner?! He shouldn’t be allowed to bring his children!

    • line says:

Of course Nagini would be in this traveling, let’s not forget that she considers herself as princess

    • Snowflake says:

Yes! I post on every DM trump article with him doing something ridiculous that Republicans would have had a fit if Obama did this. On an article about Kanye, i posted about how i thought Republicans didn’t like Obama hanging out w rappers? I suspected that a lot of the animosity towards Obama was fueled by racism. Trump’s presidency has proved it to me. It also made me realize how much white privilege I have. Trump has done so many outrageous things and not a peep. I couldn’t believe the silence after Trump called himself a white nationalist. People say oh he’s a nationalist not a white supremacist. Its the same fucking thing. Fgs, it’s white nationalist. He wants the nation to be all white. I really hope he doesn’t win again, you know this clown wont step down without a fight. Imagine if Obama went every weekend to a golf club that he personally owned. The hypocrisy of Republicans knows no limits.

      • NIKKI says:

You “suspected that a lot of the animosity towards Obama was fueled by racism.“?

Where were you during his presidency whilst they were calling him names such as monkey and the likes, and calling him Osama, on the news repeatedly when reporting?

I hate to assume, but, you must not have been living in the US or are from the US.

They called his wife vile names. Subjected everything they did or said to massive scrutiny bordering on racist fetishisation.

        It was awful.

And now they’ve elected someone to come in and demolish everything Obama set out to do at the detriment of the US people.

Every person of colour was aware of the racism being thrown constantly and consistently at Obama and his family.

        -N

      • Giddy says:

There is a positive about the Republicans accepting so many outrageous things that Bigly has done. When a Democrat wins, hopefully in 2020, and the Republicans suddenly try spewing moral outrage again, everyone can just point to the acts of Trump and his horrible progeny. Remember when the Republicans threw fits over Michelle Obama’s sleeveless dress? If they try that again, the backlash of pictures of Melania with dresses cut done to her navel will be fun. Or the ones where her nipples are clearly visible, or her nude modeling pictures.

I can’t wait to see those grifters leave the WH. Then there needs to be a physical and ritualistic cleansing of every room. Burn sage, bring in priests to perform exorcisms, have gospel choirs sing.

    • AnnaKist says:

But… don’t his offspring all “work” for the American people ?🤣🤣🤣 What a bunch of parasites.

    • Seraphina says:

They are a bunch of parasites, agreed and yes, no way in hell would they ever get this chance so they are tagging along. I just get really infuriated that this has turned into a family trip. I thought he was there on business. And I see some people already cheering him for next election. I want to smack them back into reality.

    • Himmiefan says:

I’m waiting for the headline in the Dim about how massively jealous Meghan is that Kate gets to wear a tiara while she’s exiled and can’t attend, or some such rubbish.

People of the UK, this visit might just do the Queen in. Just to give you a heads up. Terribly sorry.

      • Salvation says:

I’m waiting for the concerned folks on here, the Champions of the never complain never explain royay ways, to say how bad of an idea, how terrible it will end because Nach sang prince Harry praises.

      • Margaritas For Breakfast says:

Lol @ Sparkly topper. Makes Kate sound like a large cake with beautiful frosting

    • LahdidahBaby says:

Kaiser really outdid herself with this one: “Not only is Trump going, he’s bringing all of his large adult children – Don Jr, Ivanka and Eric and Poor Tiffany. Prepare yourselves for Don Jr too, and Precious Ivanka’s fascistic baby-whispers of doom.”

I laughed so f’ing hard I thought for a minute I was going to have to buy some of those adult incontinence pads. STOPPIT, KAISER! Stop. It. I have just a bit of my youth left. I don’t need to start wearing those pads.

    • bettyrose says:

The timing is actually pretty good for Meghan, since she has a legitimate reason to not be involved. It’s unreasonable to expect Meghan to sit in a room with Trump and not express her actual opinions. I certainly couldn’t/wouldn’t do it. It’s one thing to know that your Grandparents-in-Law once fraternized with nazis and maintain decorum. It’s quite another to be in the room with a neo-nazi and say nothing.

      • BayTampaBay says:

When did QEII fraternized with Nazis?

She was only 13 when WWI began in 1939.

      • Tigerlily says:

Bettyrose. I doubt if QEII fraternize with nazis. Pr Philip was related to a few (by marriage) but he served with Brit Royal Navy in WWII

      • Tina says:

The Queen also served, in the ATS. (And Philip, for all his faults, was a genuine WWII hero, saving a number of men).

    • MattyLove says:

If I were Megs, I would absolutely skip Trump’s visit.

On the flipslide, however, if I were Megs, I would go if it were the Obamas. Even if I were on maternity leave.

One is worth getting out for. The other, not so much.

      • Deedee says:

I’m sure if it were the obamas that we’re going, Meghan would go. Who the hell wants to see trump and that horrible family. Everyday I’m more and more embarrassed by him.

    • KidV says:

I’m glad Meghan isn’t being forced to go. Since she’s technically still an American, it wouldn’t look good being forced to see a president she’s publicly spoken badly about. Being forced to acknowledge him, type of thing. (I don’t know that I’m getting my meaning across very well)

And I’m sure Ivanka is glad Meghan won’t be there having to compete with an actual American Princess (Duchess). “Where’s my tiara, Daddy?! I want a tiara!!!”

    • maisie says:

There will be a hell of a lot of eye avoidance and awkward silences at these meetings. No way in hell will the royals do anything more than act civil and polite to these clods. Trump will probably walk in front of the queen again, like the total graceless a-hole he is. Ivanka will probably expect the queen and Kate to curtsy to her. Thank god Meghan has an excuse not to go – Trump would probably congratulate her on how an “American black girl” was smart enough to “catch a royal prince – it shoulda been a real princess like Ivanka.” He might still say something like that to Harry (or worse).

  3. MattyLove says:

I wouldn’t wish this duty on anyone. I know Kate tends to be a bit light on her engagement numbers but I do believe she should get extra credit for this one. Maybe a 1:5 sort of exchange rate.

    • Himmiefan says:

      That’s fair.

    • bettyrose says:

Am I crazy for thinking Kate and Ivanka probably get on pretty well?

      • Enn says:

I’m curious why you think so.

Back in her Tig days, Meghan actually met with Ivanka and blogged about it (it was lunch or drinks, I don’t remember which).

      • bettyrose says:

First of all, why wouldn’t they? Kate & Ivanka are both essentially Stepford-women whose entire MO is to be pleasant and agreeable. Second, I suspect they have similar interests: being attractive, uncomplicated women whose only genuine emotions are for their children.

It’s well established that Megs aspired to fraternize with socialites, and Ivanka was once a perfectly innocuous NYC socialite. Until her father stole the presidency and she became a complicit agent in his tyranny, there was nothing sinister about Meg meeting with billionaire barbie.

      • Enn says:

Ivanka is complicit in a lot of heinous acts (border detention, Russian collusion because don’t tell me she didn’t know about her husband and brothers meetings, supporting her fascist and racist father) and I don’t see Kate on that level.

Nor do I see Meghan on that level either.

      • bettyrose says:

Right, but Meg met with Ivanka before all that happened, when Ivanka was still just a pointless Barbie. And no Kate isn’t complicit in those sorts of things because she’s married to a powerless figurehead, but she doesn’t ask questions and would certainly be complicit if William were in the position to be involved in sinister actions. Again, complicit Barbie and Stepford-Kate probably have very similar personalities and get on well. Why wouldn’t they?

      • Megan says:

They have absolutely nothing in common except kids. I can’t imagine why they would get on well.

      • Bettyrose says:

Megan, I’m not particularly invested in this theory, but I legit don’t see the difference. Literally what has either of them ever done but be docile and pretty? Surely they’re both experts in dull, inoffensive small talk.

      • Enn says:

Okay, let me make this as simple as possible:

Kate is married to a lazy, spoiled manchild who should be doing far more than he does. She benefits from being married to a monarchy that is problematic and stuffy and should be working far more often for the people who pay for her lifestyle.

Ivanka is married to a morally corrupt manchild who has almost certainly committed acts of espionage and treason against his country. She benefits from being the daughter of the most criminal president in US history, and from holding a position in his shambolic, petty administration for which she is incredibly unqualified.

If you don’t see the difference, I don’t know what to tell you.

      • Bettyrose says:

Enn, I was speculating on their personalities not the circumstances surrounding their relationships with men (and if you can’t see the distinction, I’m not sure how to further simplify this for you). Both were raised in privileged worlds with few expectations beyond being lovely and well mannered.

And for the third time, I’ll point out that I’m referring to Ivanka’s life experience prior to becoming the president’s daughter, which happened in her 30s. She didnt grow up in the white house. Her personality was well defined prior to Nov 2016.

      • Enn says:

BettyRose, it says a lot about Ivanka’s personality that she is still on board with her father and actively working in his administration. You have to be a certain kind of soulless to see children dying in detention camps and not run the f away from the person who has put them there.

I’ve cut off family for casual racism, because I’d rather be able to look at myself in the mirror than make other people comfortable with my silence. Nagini is showing us who she is. For all of her flaws, Kate is not like that. So no, I don’t think that the two of them have much in common now.

      • Ader says:

I agree. I bet they do / would.

      • Megan says:

@Betty Rose – Ivanka has worked for Trump Org since she graduated from business school and has started a number of her own businesses. Are you actually unaware of her professional career, or are you just determined to smear Kate?

      • BayTampaBay says:

@Betty Rose – As much as I hate to admit it, Chump did not steal the presidency any more than George W. Bush 43 stole the presidency. Chump & 43 got into office due to our F&*ked up system for electing the President. If the USA does get rid of the Electoral College a popular-vote loser will again be elected POTUS.

      • BayTampaBay says:

Should be “does not”. Sorry for the typo!

    • 90sgirl says:

Add another layer of things to watch , don’t Rose and or her husband attend State banquets?
Isn’t it mandatory for Rose’s husband to attend?
      Just wondering.

      • Carolind says:

Why would they be attending? I think the only time the aristocracy is out in force is for the coronation and I don’t know how far down the line it goes for that. Unless they are part of some special interest American relationship group or something like that, they won’t be there.

    • Carmen says:

If I was scheduled to meet the Tangerine Wankmaggot and his noxious spawn I would come down with a case of explosive diarrhea the morning of.

    • Ader says:

Nah. There is not a doubt in my mind that Will and Kate are on the Trump roll. If have no doubt that if they were Americans, they would have voted for him.

      • Tina says:

I am far, far from being William and Kate’s biggest fan. But that is very unlikely. Trump’s policies are far outside the mainstream of British political thought (except for NI, but that doesn’t count for English people such as W&K).

      • Fiffy says:

@ader Given the things trump has said about his mother and wife I highly doubt William would like him. Also, I don’t see anything that could indicate that he approves of any of his policies

  4. tmbg says:

You know they’ll all be taking Silkwood showers after they get away from Dump and his tiny grubby hands. Harry will especially want to sanitize himself before getting near Archie.

    • minx says:

      Silkwood showers 😂

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

OMG THIS^^^^^^ wins the internet today!!! “Silkwood Showers”…I’m DYING!!! That should be a protected trademark term!! 😂😂😂😂

  5. Digital Unicorn says:

Poor royals, the brats are desperate to humble brag about mingling with royalty on someone else’s dime. I guess this is why Harry has been conscripted, to hell manage the grifter children and their spouses. So we’re getting Ken Doll and likely Ms Joker.

Also I hope they nail down the valuables.

I hop Prince Phillip decides not to be on his best behaviour that night and remember they are not staying at the palace. Let’s tweet about how Obama did, he won’t like that Obama got what he didn’t. The palace is undergoing extensive renovations at the moment.

I wonder who he won’t insult as he insulted the Japanese to their face.

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Dump-a-Lardo already insulted the Japanese by refusing to sit crossed legged at the Sumo exhibition. He insisted on CHAIRS! He was too fat to get down on the floor, let alone cross his legs and get back up w/out help.

      • PixiePaperdoll says:

You’re never to fat to get ON the floor, only too fat to get up again. 🙂

  6. MattyLove says:

I hope they serve him fast food on platters at the State dinner.

  7. Mama says:

Lol @ “fascistic baby-whispers of doom”! Phrase of the day!

  8. boredblond says:

They should all call in sick, some kind of royal flu.

  9. 90sgirl says:

It’s amazing how the British Royal press made the story all about Harry meeting Donald Trump at lunch, when Kate and William will be at dinner with Trump.
I read people criticising Harry , but low and behold, William and Kate will be at dinner with Trump. The British press seems to want to hide that or bury that fact.

    • BabaBlacksheep says:

Will and Kate will be attending a state dinner with Trump. A large formal affair. Harry will be having lunch with him. There is a difference

      • Yvette says:

But the Queen will be at the lunch as well. Doesn’t her presence make it a formal event?

      • 90sgirl says:

Most of The British Royal press didn’t even mention that Kate and William were going. The british press tried to make the story about Harry and trump. They were rubbing hands with glee that Harry has to attend a lunch.
Hardly a mention of Kate and William attending a State Dinner in the British Royal journo press.

I wonder who will be walking in with William and Kate. Will it be one of the Trump’s?

  10. PrincessK says:

I feel sorry for the Queen having to entertain that oaf. But it will be interesting to see how Charles and the younger royals handle someone that they obviously can’t stand.

    • Peg says:

Their last meeting a Windsor didn’t go well Trump turned up late and claimed that he was not late, a reporter asked Peter Phillips about it, and he said his grandmother is never late.
Then trump the bore that he is, walked so fast the Queen could hardly keep, after he had her on the edge of the red carpet she had to move to the other side.
This will be Theresa May’s last hurrah 🤗. She will be remembered for this and Windrush.

      • notasugarhere says:

He flat out lied about her keeping him waiting for 15 minutes, when all the news footage showed he was 15 minutes late. His cult followers believed his lies.

      • PrincessK says:

While I am not a huge fan of Mrs May, I feel a bit sorry for her having to meet mannerless Trump again. He was so openly rude to her on his last visit to the UK, after all the hospitality she lavished on him, the next day he gave a very critical account of her to a journalist and continues to say that another oaf Boris would be better than her. Mrs May however, remained polite and courteous throughout.

Trump comes from a rich background, but appears as though he never went to school. He cannot speak, read or write properly, was he a neglected child or just plain stupid? I notice that his siblings seem to keep a distance from him.

      • BayTampaBay says:

        @PrincessK,

It is my hypothesis that Chump is in the early stages of some sort of dementia. Chump was much more verbally articulate and coherent when he was younger…ie…20 years ago.

      • Carolind says:

Who is Chump? Is it Donald Trump or Prince Charles. Some of the nicknames on here are ridiculous. Why not call people by their names so all know who is being talked about?

    • Himmiefan says:

Hopefully the Queen will haul out the broach that Obama gave her and wear it just for Dump.

    • Carolind says:

Charles is doing some of this almost as head of state to aid the Queen. He won’t go out of line.

  11. perplexed says:

This might be must-see tv. In their own way, the royals are pretty good at giving side-eyes.

I’m surprised the Trumps are willing to make it so obvious that they’re NOT royal. There’s a certain weird decorum involved in these State visits where it will be made crystal-clear that Ivanka doesn’t hold the same role as the Queen.

    • notasugarhere says:

They will break all kinds of protocol, walk before the royals, and blame the royals for doing it wrong.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

He did that last time, walking ahead of the Queen, cutting her off, and making her go around him. He’s a buffoon of the largest order (and I do me LARGER). I am SO embarrassed by this parasitic criminal family!

    • Harryg says:

I could only watch it if orange parasite and his moron wife and large adult children were completely pixelated over.

  12. Nichole says:

Tiffany kept herself quite separated until just recently, right? I think Easter Sunday was her first publicly-photographed optional outing with Dad. I remember her actually liking various Trump criticism on social media back in the beginning of his reign. She was beginning law school and seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. I wonder what changed.

    • perplexed says:

      Money!

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

She gets the same SS protection as the others, and she and Marla have been traveling “on the dime”. Tiff’s dormant grifter genes have been making themselves known over the last two years.

    • Jerusha says:

She was sashaying around Cannes. Maybe she’s gotten a taste for the flashbulbs and publicity.

    • Lady D says:

Rumour has it that her new boyfriend is heir to a billion dollar fortune.

    • 90sgirl says:

Donald kept her at a distance over the years. She tried many times to be closer while growing up, even during the campaign, she said Trump called her on the telephone, when she discussed memories of him.

  13. agnes says:

Will they serve hamberders, well done steaks and ice cream at the state dinner?
Will there be enough Diet Coke?
Will Lillibeth give him a stern dressing down, when he complains, that the palace made hamberders aren’t as good as the ones from McDonalds?
Will Malaria borrow a tiara from the Saudis for the state dinner or will she get bought one by Putin?
Will iQ45’s brain explode when he sees all the forks, knives and spoons arranged around his plate?
Will iQ45’s gigantic ass fit throug the quite narrow doors of the very golden-ish coach?
Will the horses shy away and refuse to take one step, as long as he sits behind them (if he fits in the coach in the first place)?
Will he be stuck in the coach and has to be cut out of it (I mentioned his gigantomanic ass before, non?)?
Will Princess Complicit try to out-princess Kate?

    • notasugarhere says:

Wouldn’t be surprised if Princess Nagini showed up in a purchased tiara, or at the least diamond hair ornaments.

      • Harryg says:

Sure, she’ll have a tiara from Claire’s. On her tiny head. It’s a tiny head with a tiny princess-brain.

      • Himmiefan says:

Yes, even though tiaras aren’t “done” in the US, except for beauty queens.

      • Yvette says:

I hadn’t thought about that sad fact, but I think you’re right. Even if the daughter-wife isn’t inclined to do so, Bigly will probably insist upon her wearing a tiara to try and outdo the true Royals. He’ll probably also brag about how much like a princess daughter-wife looks wearing it at dinner, with Kate sitting there. Then he’ll try to get the Queen to agree with him.

    • BeanieBean says:

No, no, one can only hope, probably, fingers-crossed, no, yes (but you know he won’t fit), yes (if he squashed in somehow), and of course.
      Agnes: you’re brilliant!

  14. Bex says:

I love the writing on Harry’s jacket in the main picture. The rest of my thoughts on the visit are best not put down in writing.

  15. My3cents says:

There’s a UK TV show called “Idiot Abroad” right?

  16. Mellie says:

On behalf of the United States of America….I apologize. Ick, ick, ickety, ick.

  17. Peg says:

Apparently Prince Charles had his staff removed all Obama pictures from Clarence House, he knows how jealous trump is of Obama, I’m not kidding.

    • Jerusha says:

I would place them front and center just to amuse myself with his apoplectic rage.

      • Harryg says:

I would put them on every front door. I would have a hologram of the Obamas at the dinner table.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Would love it if there were some way to tell him that he’d be sleeping in the same bed as the Obamas and that the Queen expects the mattress to be pee-free in the morning.

      • Himmiefan says:

        Yes!

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Shame. I’d give them “place of pride” front and center, but I’m petty that way lol

      • Peg says:

        @ the other Katherine
I don’t think they’re staying at Buckingham Palace, parts are under renovations, so the American Embassy compound.

    • Yvette says:

I hope the Queen wears the brooch the Obamas gave her to lunch and that Melania politely asks about it so the Queen can explain how the Obamas surprised her with it as a parting gift. 🙂 Bigly’s head would explode!

    • Jaded says:

I would serve dinner on Obama dinner plates.

  18. Peg says:

Meghan must be thanking Archie for arriving late, although she did interview Princess Nagini for the Tig.
Maybe she will miss Trooping of the Colors.
I would LOL, if Meghan turn up for the luncheon, she is a big girl dealing dealing with adversity most of her life.

    • OriginalLala says:

yeah, she had a *very* glowing and over the top sugary piece about Princess Nagini on the Tig, I remember reading it and finding it not very cool of her.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

It’s one thing to be a grifting criminal on her own, who cares? But NOW, she’s fleecing on a national level, “government sanctioned” by the republiTHUGS. BIG difference.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@(TheOG)@Jan90067, I do not understand what you are saying.

  19. TheOriginalMia says:

People were wondering why the Cambridges were absent from this visit and lo and behold, they have to attend the state dinner. $10 Melania and Nagini wear tiaras. No way they will miss a chance to cosplay as royalty in the presence of royalty. I hope no orders are given to the Orange Menace. He doesn’t deserve anything but scorn.

  20. Toot says:

I know Meghan is beyond happy she doesn’t have to go to the luncheon. She was vocally against Trump before he got into the White House. Harry was probably ordered to go, we know how much he loves Obama.

  21. Franke says:

This is their job. They are doing their jobs like the pros they are. I don’t fault them for it.

Meghan once had complimentary things to say about Ivanka. She had an email interview with her for a The Tig. She was also doing her job and I don’t see any issue with it.

The royal family has met worse people and survived.

    • grace2 says:

Just curious – was the Ivanka interview pre or post election?

      • Peg says:

        Pre-election.
Trump did not send any tweets congratulating them on the Birth of Archie, because she was supporting Hilary and called trump by his name😂.

      • Bella DuPont says:

To be fair, I suspect the only reason he hasn’t said derogatory things about Meghan (yet), is because of her effusive praise of Ivanka, his precious.

  22. aquarius64 says:

Poor Harry for having to go. Melania is probably a buffer for lunch. One British tabloid had the headline Meghan ESCAPES meeting Trump which is probably how all the BRF wish they can do.

The Cambridges are really going to have to prove they are king and queen material. The Guardian had an article two days avo about Trump and Kate’s nudes. According to the paper Trump actually SAW the pictures and then tweeted his misogyny. The humiliation Kate must feel now. If William was half a man he would demand an apology even if the Trump kids are buffers. It won’t happen though.

    • Megan says:

It would be grossly inappropriate for William to demand an apology from a visiting head of state.

      • Tina says:

This is true, but it’s even more grossly inappropriate that a head of state does such things. I know everyone is normalised to it, but it’s still shocking.

      • Well-Wisher says:

He went on the Howard Stern radio show and said that he will only have sex with the late Princess Diana unless she has an AIDS test after it was revealed that he harassed her by sending large bouquets of flowers after the separation with Prince Charles.

I have a great deal of respect for the Royals who have to tolerate this upcoming visit.

  23. kerwood says:

Personally, I think it’s disgusting that William and Harry are going to have to shake hands with the piece of shit who said such awful things about their mother. Any whining about how much they cost the British taxpayers should end after this visit. If they didn’t pay their debt when they were forced to parade themselves after their mother’s death, it’s paid in full now.

And if the British people don’t rouse themselves and protest every second that creature pollutes British soil, Shakespeare will weep in his grave.

    • Tina says:

William and Harry don’t get a free pass to live in luxury for life because French paparazzi chased their mother’s car and they had to shake hands with an arsehole.

      • Bella DuPont says:

I don’t know about that Tina, I’d rather have a tooth extracted with no pain killers than hang out with such a horrible man.

But in this case, there will be 6 of them. All at once! And they’re going to have to shake hands, smile, laugh, compliment, talk to and maybe even pamper these people. For several hours.

That is some serious punishment/ sacrifice.

      • Tina says:

The Queen has had to smile and be pleasant with the likes of Assad and Ceaucescu, and she’s still out there outworking William and Harry at the age of 93. No excuses!

      • Cerys says:

Tina – exactly. William and Harry are grown men who are happy to accept all the perks of being Royal so it’s about time they took their share of the less pleasant tasks

      • Megan says:

Trump bragged that he could have “nailed” their mom so it is really unfortunate that duty demands they meet with this pile of toxic waste.

      • kerwood says:

@Megan. I think even the most hardcore deplorable would think that William or Harry would be justified in giving 45 a smack round the chops. Even Charles must feel some impulse to defend the honour of the mother of his children.

I think Kate is probably the one to watch out for though. She has a sneakiness about her that I think 45 should watch out for. Who knows if the English Rose is hiding a shiv in her tiara?

Megan should give Archie an extra kiss the night of the state dinner since he’s the one who’s sparing her from breaking bread with such lowlifes. And if I were her, I’d insist that Harry go through some serious hazmat cleaning. Someone said ‘Silkwood style’ and that’s spot on.

      • Casey20 says:

Tina, the RF is wealthy…..William and Harry would live a privilege life without the duty!!

      • Tina says:

If they want to abdicate, there’s the door. The York branch would be more than happy to take things over.

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

I love the fact that protests have been organized and the Dump Diaper Blimp is in the ready for the visit. LONG MAY IT FLY!

      • Bella DuPont says:

I don’t know why they haven’t made others?! There should be 1 in every major city by now.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

@Bella, there *are* several different ones that I’ve seen (incl. one of Dump, tweeting furiously, on the toilet). But the only one I’ve seen in London is Diaper Don.

    • cannibell says:

“Personally, I think it’s disgusting that William and Harry are going to have to shake hands with the piece of shit who said such awful things about their mother.”

      This.

      • maisie says:

It’s entirely possible that Trump would be crass enough to tell William and/or Harry that he “could have been their dad har har,” completely ignoring that both were already born when he “honored” Diana with his attentions. He’s enough of a compulsive pig to make such a “joke.” He’d also be disgusting enough to tell them that he “knew and loved their mother very much.” I feel so sorry for them.

    • Bella DuPont says:

      .

    • Mia says:

let’s not forget what 45 the idiot said about Kate when those topless photos came out

  24. adastraperaspera says:

I assume the visit is designed as a cover to hook up with Russian oligarchs who are banned from the U.S. by sanctions. I think that’s why his evil children are going along.

A while back Prince William spent a few weeks working with Britain’s spy agencies; it was covered in the press as somewhat of a lark–but I wonder if the work was more serious. I remember also being surprised when President Obama visited Harry in 2017. It’s wishful thinking, but I have to hope that many things are being done behind the scenes to cement and expand our alliance. After all, both countries are currently under attack from hostile foreign powers (cyber attacks on elections and financial systems, poisoning of residents, GPS positioning network scrambling, invasion of allies like Ukraine, Huawei spy crimes, Saudi killing of Khashoggi, and etc.).

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

adastraperaspera, that’s very insightful. I surely didn’t think of that, but now that you mentioned it, it IS plausible that it’d be easier to get messages through intermediaries/and or into the embassy in England. And it shocks ME that I am NOT shocked by this premise.

    • maisie says:

Good point. MI6 seems to be more…attuned to Russian infiltration of their country, & the Trump crime siblings will probably be closely watched if they deviate from the schedules and protocols. Hm. Maybe that’s why Trump invited Tiffany, whom he normally ignores – maybe she’ll be doing a little crooked family business under everyone’s radar. I have no idea why she’d be there otherwise. She’s totally been as much of an outcast as her poor little brother.

  25. kerwood says:

The British press got into a tizzy when President Obama took the Queen’s elbow to help her down the steps at the D-Day anniversary a few years. He did it because he’s a decent human being, she’s an old lady and there were a LOT of steps, protocol be damned. They won’t have to worry about Trump because he doesn’t even show simple courtesy to the former ‘model’ he purchased.

I can’t imagine William, Harry or even Charles being able to swallow a bite of food in the company of this ogre. They’re all going to be thinking about what he said about Diana and how he stalked her. It might be old-fashioned of me but I think it’s too much to ask Diana’s male relatives (even former) to have to shake hands with a sexual predator like Trump.

Maybe Trump will bring up his friend Jeffrey Epstein at dinner. His friendship with Epstein is about the only thing Trump has in common with the royal family. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump didn’t threaten to spill what he knew about Epstein and Andrew if the Queen didn’t meet him and the rest of the toxic grifters in his family.

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

How very true. This is a buffoon who let his porn-model wife (and son) walk in the rain while he walked ahead with an umbrella.

  26. mycomment says:

Alyse — primary security for the president will never be outsourced to another country; the secret service will always play the key role. although, obviously, the hosting country still provides another layer.

special request to all brits — please flash your bum along the route as they drive by…

and, of course, the parasitical spawn will tag along … princess complicit is probably looking at abandoned castles she can purchase/redecorate on the taxpayer dime

  27. Cerys says:

The royal family have consorted with lots of shady characters over the years so a few more wont make any difference.

    • maisie says:

These are especially shady characters, though – made more despicable because they have no manners, no class, no grace and will be as rude as hell to everyone because they think it’s their god-given right. For example, I have no doubt that during the state dinner Trump will refuse dishes because “he doesn’t eat that” (yes, he’ll say it out loud) and demand to be brought something else (burned steak, French fries, 3 scoops of chocolate ice cream, 3 Big Macs, a bucket of KFC) as if he were in a goddam restaurant.

  28. blunt talker says:

This is diplomatic courtesy all state visits. It was stated that Trump insisted on getting Ivanka and Jared a front seat with William and Kate. I can tell what comparisons he will use later that his daughter is regal and queen-like as Kate. The royal family have to represent their country when asked todo so. So whether they want to or not will not be an option.

    • aquarius64 says:

This could be payback for last year’s visit. Politico reported that Charles and William did not want to meet Trump. I bet that was part of the deal for Trump to not start a tweetstorm on the BRF this time. He disrespected the queen; he would come for the rest of them. Bringing his kids twists the knife.

  29. Lanne says:

The queen has hosted all kinds of terrible people, including the Assad’s, coucesceu (sp) even Idi Amin. This too shall pass. Unless we start impeachment proceedings!

  30. Jumpingthesnark says:

Lunch with trump!!! Poor Queen Liz, poor Harry!! I guess it makes a kind of sense to have Harry along. William or Charles aren’t going to be able to stand up for grandmama nearly as well when trump inevitably insults the hell out of Liz.

  31. Jen says:

So Kate will have a state dinner with the Trumps and the Chumleys will be there too, right? Karma for her laziness?

    • 90sgirl says:

      I was wondering about that.
Interesting they skipped the Houghton Horse trials this year.

    • Carolind says:

They won’t be at the dinner unless they have some connection to America or the Trumps. Every single one of the aristocracy is not on show on every single occasion. The higher ranked ones are brought out for the coronation and that’s it. Otherwise they appear if invited because they have an interest.

  32. BeanieBean says:

Why in the hell are all the adult spawn going? Why are we paying for that?

  33. Casey20 says:

Expect to see William walking with Ivanka a d Kate with Donnie Jr. Ivanka and Malania will be dripping in borrowed jewelry to compete with the Queen, Camilla and Kate. Obviously this meeting is important to the Brits. How sad it is they have to literally bow/curtsey to the Orange A-hole. One thing is certain, Trump will insult the Brits within 24 hours of his arrival and the Brits will smi!e and eat his shit!! There is NO WAY Meghan was going to participate in this level of BS!!!

  34. Win says:

The royal family needs to remain non political!

  35. liriel says:

Btw, have you seen pictures of William’s at the soccer game? He looks so in his element, he clearly loves the team and the game. I’ve never seen him so happy in a long time.

  36. MrsDeAndre says:

Meghan will absolutely come out of leave and participate in this. Mark my words.

    • Olenna says:

      OK, marked.

    • Mimi says:

Wondering if you are one of the same posters who told us that there was no “famewhore” Meghan was going to skip the presentation at the Lindo Wing?

  37. The Recluse says:

Ugh. My apologies to the United Kingdom for this monstrosity and his pestilential family descending on you. Feel free to remind him of how he lost the actual popular vote. Fly your Trump baby blimps. And make a great and raucous noise so that his fragile little monster’s ego will feel the sting.

    • Liz Simpson says:

Poor Beggars! Spending time with that classless moron goes against anyone’s idea of duty. It’s outrageous to any of us Brits to think of our poor Queen spending time with this waste of space
      Yes to all of this!

  38. katylalala says:

What are the odds that Ivanka is going to wear some sort of tiara-adjacent headpiece?

    • Casey20 says:

I agree or dripping in diamonds, both she and Melania. No doubt they will be a complete embarrassment!!!!

  39. blunt talker says:

PS-someone from the national enquirer has set a theme park attraction in Tennessee relating to Princess Diana’s car crash to make money off of terrible accident. How low can a person be to do something so vile to beloved figure in history. I hope her sons sue their asses off. My stomach did a flip flop when I read this story on Friday. God needs to help humanity gain some mental respect for others. You suppose figure who killed her after the pictures on the screen is shown. These people absolutely don’t have any respect for the royal family or Diana’s descendants.

  40. Beech says:

Where is Barron in all this?

  41. Jo73c says:

Ok Brits, milkshakes at the ready…

  42. Tina says:

Something more fun: which Americans living in the UK will be invited to the state dinner. I’m guessing some of the following: Bill Bryson, Rob Delaney, Reginald D Hunter, Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton, Tori Amos, Elizabeth McGovern, Gillian Anderson, Loyd Grossman.
