Lauren Graham got a rescue puppy, after she ‘fell in love with her on the internet’

Lauren Graham stars on that new show Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, which, I don’t know. I cannot seem to get excited about it from the clips, even though I like everyone in the cast. I guess it scratches the My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend itch? In addition to Zoey’s, Lauren also just started filming Disney+ new Mighty Ducks series that films in Vancouver, which turned out to be fortuitous because it allowed Lauren to add to a new fur baby to her family. Lauren said she found her new pup on the internet, fell in love, drove down to meet her and knew right away this sweet dumpling would become the newest member of her family. Lauren told Ellen DeGeneres the story – and brought pics. Look at her! *makes strangled noises in throat*

You got a puppy. And, it’s a rescue dog… What is she?
We think Lab, Shepherd and then, I took her in to the vet and they’re like, “and Rottweiler.” I was like, “she keeps getting smaller – wow.” Yeah, she’s kind of a big dog. I fell in love with her on the internet, which I hope is the closest I ever have to come to internet dating. But… there was something in her eyes and I’d been working in Vancouver and I drove to Washington state to pick her up. And I didn’t intending on taking her home that day, but one look in those big, brown eyes and “you’re coming with me!” I just put her in the car and now she’s my dog.

Every single time I set out just to “look” or “meet” a potential pet – cat or dog – I left with them. Once I ended up with his brother too (best decision I ever made). I mean, any time you get face to face with one of these furry angels, you’ll lose your heart to it, but driving across the border to meet the precious pup? Lauren had to know there would be no turning back. And who can blame her, look at that little face!

We don’t have a name for Lauren’s new little love, but hopefully she will be the subject of Lauren’s next book. Did you know Lauren was a best-selling author? Because I sure as hell didn’t. Honestly, sometimes I don’t know how I get away with calling myself a fan. Lauren has written a memoir, a novel and an advice book and I am just learning about all of them. She also runs an online book club. I also did not know that Lauren lives near Parenthood co-star, Dax Shepard. Since Lauren lives *with* Parenthood co-star Peter Krause, it’s like a family reunion every day.

Anyway, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is on NBC and Hulu. If it’s good, please tell me so I can move it up my list.

    Sweet puppy!
Her novel was pretty good, and I think I read her memoir too. I didn’t know she had a book club though!

I have seen sooooo many ads for that show that it was annoying and I was going to skip it. But i didn’t realize she was in it, so I might check it out.

Very cute pup. And she looks so lovely in that red dress.

I follow a number of cat/kitten rescues on IG and I really became obsessed with one little ragdoll kitten last year. It wouldn’t have been that far for me to drive, either, but my family vetoed the idea. People have driven cross country to pick up pets they’ve fallen in love with online! And it’s not uncommon for some of them to end up with two so that siblings can stay together. I love it.

Yayyyy! We brought home our rescue pup less than 8 hours ago!! Hurray for doggies!

My roommate, a pet hater just adopted an adorable stray who followed him on his way to work. He stays at his work building and now the cat is the official office mascot.

I have a passion for animal rescue. We have a seven year old British Shorthair, and two domestics. The last two found on the internet through county animal services. Something new for our area, foster parents for puppies and kittens until old enough for adoption. Good for Lauren in keeping the word out on adopting pets.

My parents adopted a kitten who had been fostered from birth, and OMG, he is the sweetest and most affectionate thing and has been since the moment they found him.
I drove nearly 2 hours to adopt my pair, worth every mile!

She and James Blunt are my favorite interviewees.

We went to our city shelter about 8 months after our beloved Lab died at age 12, and I told my husband, “We’re just looking. I’m not ready for another dog yet.” Famous last words, because I absolutely fell in LOVE with literally the first dog we saw…she hadn’t even been taken in the building yet, the girls who found her and were bringing her in were walking up at the same time as us. Bailey has been our Very Good Girl since August of 2017 and I am so glad my husband insisted we “just go look” that afternoon. Rescue pups are the bomb!!

I watched the Zoey’s pilot and thought it was good.

Same, I really enjoyed the first episode and can’t wait to see more. Also bonus points for actually shooting in San Francisco instead of on a set.

  9. Rebecca says:

Maybe she’ll name it Paul Anka.

I read her memoir and found it and her a little exhausting. Adorable puppy, though, and so glad she rescued (though I don’t judge – I’ve rescued twice, but we had to purchase our last one from a reputable breeder).
