Armie Hammer: Trump & Biden are ‘essentially two sides of the same coin’

Actor Armie Hammer arrives at the 13th Annual GO Campaign Gala 2019 held at NeueHouse Hollywood on November 16, 2019 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States.

Armie Hammer is a tall, blonde white man who comes from a rich AF family and has used his white privilege to create a comfortable bubble for himself. He has no idea how the other 99.9% live. He also has some random beefs, like his beef with all things Marvel for some reason. Last year, he called out the chairman of Marvel for being a mega-donor to Donald Trump. Which, I mean, fair enough. But now Armie thinks he has some political credibility. He thinks people want his political take on the election. He tweeted (and deleted) this:

“Who are essentially two sides of the same coin” can we f–king NOT. Again, Joe Biden was not my first, second or third choice. But I will be perfectly happy to vote for him this fall and you know why? Because he’s not an unhinged white supremacist. Because he doesn’t hate brown and black people with every fiber of his being. Because Joe Biden thinks women should have autonomy over their own bodies. Because he’ll put liberal judges on federal courts. Because he would be a better leader through, say, a global pandemic. And a million other reasons. Imagine being so ensconced in your bubble of privilege that you think “not voting for Biden” will be anything other than voting for Donald Trump. Imagine thinking that sure, 150,000 Americans are dead and babies are being held in cages but hey, YOUR IDEALS! Biden’s the same, right??

Well, that’s his opinion, and my opinion is he’s a dumbass.

  2. Doodle says:

I have someone who feels the same way on my Facebook and I just don’t get it.

    • LaraK says:

      Well, picture a coin.
One side is shiny and clean. The other is sitting on a pile of excrement.
      Same idea.

    • Louisa says:

I just unfriended someone on FB the other night for a similar comment. I have zero patience for this dangerous rhetoric this time around. None. I view anyone spouting these “opinions” as ignorant as a MAGA.

    • minx says:

I don’t recall Biden putting kids in cages…or alienating our allies…on and on. The list is endless.

  3. Abby says:

K, Armie, get your militia together.

    • Queen Meghan's Hand says:

Right? I assume he’s on the front lines right now plotting the end of the white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy that has made his family rich for generations.
The most radical thing he could do is use his trust to pay off the debt of black people. The most radical thing he could do is not bequeath any money to his children but to black people. And I mean any group of random black people. Like any black person who follows him on Twitter or Instagram.

  4. bonobochick says:

I see some celebs have learned nothing from 2016 (as well as some non-celebs). 😑

  5. Anonymous says:

And who’s going to die in this revolution, Armie? Not you.

I mean, it’s not necessarily incorrect to point out that Biden won’t exactly be the youngest and most dynamic president, but that’s what his cabinet is for and that’s why his VP pick will be interesting and extremely important.

    • Darla says:

Yes, I am holding my breath. They say she will be announced next week. I’ve never in my life cared this much for who the VP pick was. Of course I’m voting for Biden no matter what, I mean unless his VP is Don Jr., so..and I’m going in person because I don’t trust Trump’s boy at the PO. I will risk covid and everything, you can shoot at me on the way, I’ll be there.

But I’m really hoping the VP pick is someone I love.

      • Anonymous says:

My favorites are Tammy Duckworth or Susan Rice, but I’ll be happy with any woman (especially a WOC).

    • Mac says:

Biden is running on the most progressive platform of any Democrat in modern history.

  6. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

The very exact same second I clicked and started reading about this Arm and Hammer (I bet he’s been arm wrestling his entire life), my second screen had a pop-up advertisement for foam penis enhancement inserts. A push-up penal bra. Coincidences like this are what I live for.

  7. greenmonster says:

My guess is, this was the last thing he said to his wife before she said: “You will hear from my divore lawyer.”

  8. Ravensdaughter says:

Reminds me of the Ralph Nader-ites in 2000. We know what happened then…

  9. Lightpurple says:

This is why we can’t have nice things.

  10. grabbyhands says:

This Malibu Ken looking jackass and every other super privileged mofo on the planet needs to get off Twitter and stop asking for a revolution they’re never going to bleed for.

PS – a revolution is already underway and plenty of people who don’t have the luxury of tweeting from their mansions have already paid the price for it. US Citizens are being yanked into vans by unnamed federal officers for exercising their constitutional rights and they have no recourse. When this happens to him, we’ll see if he changes his tune.

    • Queen Meghan's Hand says:

      SAY IT!

    • Darla says:

      ^^^^^^^

      Yep!

    • Tiffany :) says:

Yes! Trump is sending the military to inflict violence on peaceful protesters! There is a VAST difference between him and Biden.

Thought I’ve had recently: how do we know no protesters have been sent to GITMO? The admin said they consider “ANTIFA” to be a terrorist organization. Trump has advocated for keeping GITMO open and sending new prisoners there. What’s stopping them, Barr’s integrity?

To be clear, I have no evidence that this has happened, I’m just imagining the worst. Because the Trump administration does do the absolute worst things every single day.

      • a reader says:

Tiffany – No harm in imagining the worst…. because each time it appears as though Trump has hit bottom, he finds a deeper hole to dig towards.

There is NO BOTTOM with him and I am terrified of the damage he is going to inflict in the next 98 days. Furthermore, him as a lame duck Pres…. I shudder to think of what he’ll do between election and inauguration day.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I share your fears, a reader. He’s a dangerous man with incredible power and no limits to his depravity.

  11. Lori says:

Is he even aware that what he’s watching from a safe distance on his tv is not reality television and actual reality?

  12. Veronica S. says:

Yeah, I’m sure you and your money will sit around for the detritus of a failed state where millions starve, people die at the hands of corrupt police and military enforcement, and society in general falls to sh*t with women’s and minority rights going right out the window. All of these people so eager for revolution who have never opened a history textbook in their life and seen how bloody, awful, and terrifying they really are. Try talking to a refugee sometime about what living in a warzone feels like. Ask how that ~freedom~ of anarchy felt.

    • Lanie says:

      Thank You!

These social media revolutionaries aren’t really ‘bout that life. None of them are going to sacrifice their daily comfort, let alone their safety, the lives of their friends and families, not ready to be constantly looking over their shoulders, not ready to die for a cause, and not ready to live under an even more brutal regime because the revolution they got wasn’t the one in their favor.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve told those same keyboard warriors that what they’re seeing now: kids in cages, race based immigration bans, secret police turning arms against American citizens and taking dissenters into custody – this is the revolution they asked for. Yet, the most action they could muster was blacking out their profile pic for a day or two. All while others suffer the consequences.

  13. Teresa says:

Welp he can get fucked. By Armie. You had all the odds stacked in your favor and this is what you’ve done with it. Well done moron.

  14. Case says:

No. They are NOT two sides of the same coin. I’m so tired of this argument. I don’t love Biden but he has experience, plans, leadership qualities, and basic decency, all of which Trump lacks. It’s not just about the president. It’s about who he brings into his cabinet, his Supreme Court picks, etc.

I agree that the two-party system sucks and we should be able to have third-party candidates that have a shot at winning, But this is not the election to tackle that issue.

  15. Elizabeth Kerri Mahon says:

He’s since deleted that tweet but I guess he forgot that screenshots live forever.

  16. Jess says:

I am really unhappy that Biden is the Dem nominee but will vote for him regardless because there is no comparison that can be made between Trump and him. And all of these false equivalencies — all politicians lie, cheat, and steal; Biden and Trump are equally bad — require such a willful denial of how awful Trump is, and how much damage he has done to so many communities and to our Constitution, that I view it as evil because it basically ends up pretending that Trump isn’t that much “worse” than the usual politician.

  17. beccab says:

Easy for a rich, white man to say.

  18. Sara says:

Ok, rich white guy heir to a vast fortune who bought his way into Hollywood and won’t be affected by anything. You do you.

  19. a reader says:

Armie, you should’ve just sat there and ate your food.

  20. Tpoe says:

“Imagine thinking that sure, 150,000 Americans are dead and babies are being held in cages but hey, YOUR IDEALS! Biden’s the same, right??“

I literally cannot imagine thinking like this. It’s so hard to fathom that i’m wondering if he’s trolling.

  21. Elizabeth says:

After watching the Barr hearings… after everything that’s transpired in the past four years… REALLY?!?!!

Biden will lead a team of Democrats, who, however moderate some may be, will protect our basic freedoms. Will all protect women’s reproductive rights. Will all protect LGBTQ rights.

There is NO comparison. Why are so many Americans so obtuse?

  22. Valiantly Varnished says:

Armie Hammer is fake woke. I dont believe for a second that he didn’t vote for Trump. And he will vote for him again. And this tweet is evidence of that. Because no REAL non-Trump voter think Biden and Trump and in any way similar. He told on himself with this. That and his liking all if his Mama’s pro-Trump Instagram posts…
Either way no one cares what this rich privileged white man thinks. About ANYTHING.
Oh and he deleted the tweet. So he’s a coward as well.

    • Eugh says:

I think some of the Bernie bros definitely think they are the same. The purity test for Democrats is toxic. Everyone has one simple job, vote out ALL the Republicans.

    • Veronica S. says:

I’ve seen quite a few idiots running around on Tumblr comparing the two by taking Biden’s statement that “arsonists and anarchists should be arrested” out of context and saying he’s just as sure as a pathway to fascism as Trump because of it. I mean, sure, that makes total sense if you’re one of those jackasses who thinks progressivism is yelling on social media and not actually bothering to show up to vote in any of the primaries or mid-year elections. Kind of hard to see change when only one third of the country is bothering to even cast a vote, even when they know voter suppression is a very real thing happening in some places.

But if you bothered to, say…..vote in literally any of the down ballot elections, we wouldn’t even be in this mess because Congress – the body that some people apparently don’t realize actually makes the laws – wouldn’t keep getting hijacked by complicit fascists. The whole point of not having term limits was that they expected voters to be responsible enough to show up and vote in new people regularly. Apparently that civic duty is lost on a whole lot of people on both sides of the aisle.

  23. Sayrah says:

This sentiment is such crap and absolutely tone deaf. Ginsburg needs to be able to safely retire. We can’t handle another 4 years of DT

  24. ClaireB says:

My god, these privileged men and their “both sides are terrible” arguments! One side is demonstrably worse! STFU and pay attention!

  25. adastraperaspera says:

Oh, I guess it’s just a coincidence that Armie–whose mega millions come from fossil fuels (Occidental Petroleum) that are threatened by Biden plans for clean energy–is pumping out disinformation designed to sink the Biden campaign.

Also quite a coincidence that much of the Hammer family cash includes investments his great-grandfather, Armand Hammer (who groomed Armie’s father to run Occidental), made from being paid to spy for the Soviet Union. We could ask Armie’s dad more about this, but he’s holed up in the Caymans running his shady Christian broadcasting system.

“Among Epstein’s more shocking revelations is that [Armand] Hammer acted as a virtual spy for the Soviet Union, a conduit for money that financed Communist espionage operations.”

“From these sources, Epstein discovered that in 1921 the Soviet secret police, the Cheka, gave Hammer “$75,000 to secretly take back with him to New York. This money, which would be the equivalent of $600,000 today, was to be distributed to underground agents of the Comintern. . . . [Hammer] departed Russia with a new burden of secrets–his commitment to using his family’s company to help finance Soviet espionage in America.”

  26. Olivia says:

Oh look, Mr. White Privilege who’s had everything handed to him on a silver platter since birth has the nerve to talk about a revolution. He’s been yakking about BLM from the comfort of his million dollar mansion without attending a single protest. He’s all talk, no action and comes across as very arrogant on social media. Really obnoxious guy.

  27. ce says:

Bud, shut up. There *is* a revolution happening but I guess it doesn’t effect your cis, white, male self so it doesn’t exist. Also, say it with me now: trump is not an American president. He is doing everything in his power to fracture our country’s people and political systems. Biden at the very least cares about this country

  28. Coco says:

Sit down, shut up, and enjoy your inherited wealth, Armand.

  29. Zaya says:

Is he out there protesting in the streets? You know the one that drumpf has the secret police tear gassing people, arresting people without cause, abducting people? Cause Biden isn’t advocating that. Is Biden separating families and putting them in cages? Is he promoting quack doctors who believe in demon sperm and alien dna who are promoting COVID treatment that has been proven ineffective? What about the environment? Who pulled us out of the Paris agreement? Who’s epa is relaxing water rules for polluters?

It’s July 2020, if you still think that drumpf and Biden (Or Hilary) are the same, then you must not have been following the news for the past several years, have no cognitive function, or are extremely privileged.

    Armor needs to stfu.

  30. AppleTartin says:

Armie gonna start the Revolution from the Cayman Islands?

  31. Keshet says:

    Biden is. racist af.

This black woman will not be voting for that clown.

    • Leslie says:

You spelled “Trump is a wannabe authoritarian dictator who will destroy US democracy if he’s re-elected” wrong.

  32. Lucy2 says:

This makes me want to re-join Twitter so I can yell at him.
I truly do not understand the disconnect, thinking they are in anyway comparable. Biden was not my first choice, by a long shot, but the alternative is more Trump. That is unfathomable,
The bus analogy is a good one. If there is no perfect bus, you take the one that gets you closest to where you want to go.
You don’t take the one driving backwards, on fire, intentionally running people over, while it heads for the edge of a cliff.

  33. Betsy says:

I am so sick of “both sides.” THERE IS NO BOTH SIDES. It’s an argument that is the refuge of the weak minded.

  34. Mel says:

Please, please, PLEASE ,do everyone a favor and don’t republish the idiotic ravings of rich/famous people who don’t have to suffer the consequences for being stupid or sitting it out. This one especially needs to sit his silly self down somewhere and be quiet

  35. jferber says:

No, Armie, you’re stupid. I say that as a teacher (retired so I’m allowed). Vote for Biden and if you can’t say that, STFU. As I said, retired.

  36. Jayna says:

    FU, Armie.

  37. You Must Be Joking says:

I agree with Arnie. Corporate war mongers suck goats balls.
