Katie Holmes has spent the year in New York, where she’s lived since divorcing Tom Cruise. I’ve heard that she has a place in LA too, but I’m not sure if she still does have that place, or if she even goes there anymore. She’s been New York-based for years and she’s raising a New Yorker, Suri Cruise. The point is that Katie and Suri survived the Covid-19 pandemic in New York and like all good New Yorkers, they both wear masks whenever they go anywhere now. Even if they’re just doing some shopping or walking their two dogs, which I didn’t know they had! They have two little Chihuahuas or Chihuahua-mixes (I can’t tell). Suri seems like a devoted dog-owner too! And I love her “VOTE” t-shirt. I hate Katie’s yellow-and-black crochet sweater though. It looks like she’s wearing a homemade potholder.
Katie is currently promoting The Secret: Dare to Dream, which is On Demand (a lot of Holmes’ movies are that variety these days). To promote the film, she recently spoke about what she’s learned in lockdown in New York:
Katie Holmes is notoriously private when it comes to discussing life with her 14-year-old daughter Suri Cruise, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise. But during an interview for Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph on Friday to promote her new film The Secret: Dare to Dream, the actress gave a rare insight. The 41-year-old revealed how quarantining with Suri in New York has made her ‘look at everything’ she has, and celebrate simple tasks such as making dinner.
‘I like to keep her out of my interviews, but I will say that this time of quarantine has been such a lesson,’ Katie told the publication via a video conference app. ‘Just really looking at everything you have and celebrating the simplicity of making dinner and [spending] that time together.’
‘When I think about my life, I feel very blessed. I have felt very lucky and I rely on my instincts a lot but I also forgive myself for mistakes,’ she said.
I mean, Katie is being vague on purpose. I like to imagine that she actually has a very rich life full of great friends and dinner parties and art and literature and interesting hobbies, but she hides all of that to give off a bland persona to protect herself and her daughter. Also, Suri is part of Generation Covid, right? That’s what we’re calling all of the kids who are missing school because of the pandemic now, right? Generation Covid. Who would have thought.

I hate it when the media says that Katie “shares” Suri with Tom Cruise. They don’t “share” Suri — that a**hat has been absent from Suri’s life for YEARS.
And all because the “beautiful religion” (Cruise’s words) won’t allow a relationship because Katie and Suri are “suppressive persons.” Bunch of BS. Cruise is nothing but a puppet.

I personally like Katie’s sweater, there are other pics of Suri from the other day and omg she looks old. Like I can’t believe it. Seems like she yesterday she was gracing the cover of Vanity Fair. People can say what they want about Katie but she’s absolutely done right by Suri. She seems so well adjusted and doesn’t seem like one of those kids that wants to grow up to fast. Considering her Tom is one of the most famous movie stars on the planter and doesn’t even bother to see her, the fact she seems like every normal kid is great and a testament to Katie’s parenting skills.
I never thought a 14 year old would be considered old.

With the mask on I briefly thought Suri was Katie. I love the light touch/infrequent stories about them as I get such a great vibe about their life since they escaped and how Katie genuinely values every day of it.
As to her fashion, as soon as I saw the header pic my first reaction was how much I hate-love her style. I rarely like the things she wears but she s=usually looks like she’s owning the look which goes a long way.
