Melania Trump used a ‘natural route’ to treat her coronavirus & Barron had it too

Republican National Convention - Day 4

Melania Trump has not been seen in public since September 29th, the night of the first (and only) presidential debate. By then, Melania and Donald Trump had been exposed to the coronavirus already. They were both in attendance for the Rose Garden Massacre on Saturday, September 26th, the super-spreader event to nominate Amy Coney Barrett. By Debate Night, both Trumps were likely beginning to feel ill. Two days later, they both tested positive for the virus. Donald Trump has obviously been front and center since then, because he’s a thirsty famewhore and he’s zonked out on so many drugs, he feels invincible. Melania, on the other hand, just went dark when she tested positive. She reportedly stayed in the White House and tried not to expose anyone else. It was somewhat refreshing.

Anyway, Melania has “written” a little essay about her experiences with the virus, and she revealed that at one point in the past two weeks, Barron Trump tested positive. She also writes that she chose to treat herself using natural methods.

It was two weeks ago when I received the diagnosis that so many Americans across our country and the world had already received—I tested positive for COVID-19. To make matters worse, my husband, and our nation’s Commander-in-Chief, received the same news.

Naturally my mind went immediately to our son. To our great relief he tested negative, but again, as so many parents have thought over the past several months, I couldn’t help but think “what about tomorrow or the next day?”. My fear came true when he was tested again and it came up positive. Luckily he is a strong teenager and exhibited no symptoms. In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together. He has since tested negative.

I was very fortunate as my diagnosis came with minimal symptoms, though they hit me all at once and it seemed to be a roller coaster of symptoms in the days after. I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time. I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food. We had wonderful caretakers around us and we will be forever grateful for the medical care and professional discretion we received from Dr. Conley and his team. It was an unfamiliar feeling for me to be the patient instead of a person trying to encourage our nation to stay healthy and safe. It was me being taken care of now, and getting first-hand experience with all that COVID-19 can do. As the patient, and the person benefitting from so much medical support, I found myself even more grateful and in awe of caretakers and first responders everywhere. To the medical staff and the residence staff who have been taking care of our family—thank you doesn’t say enough.

…We are in unprecedented times—and with the election fast approaching, it has been easy to get caught up in so much negative energy. It also cheered me to think of all the people I have met across our country and the world—and the goodness and compassion that exists if you seek it out. Our country has overcome many hardships and much adversity, and it is my hope COVID-19 will be another obstacle we will be able to tell future generations we overcame—and learned from in the process.

I encourage everyone to continue to live the healthiest life they can. A balanced diet, fresh air, and vitamins really are vital to keep our bodies healthy. For your complete well-being, compassion and humility are just as important in keeping our minds strong. For me personally, the most impactful part of my recovery was the opportunity to reflect on many things—family, friendships, my work, and staying true to who you are.

[From The White House]

I’ve seen a lot of people being negative about Melania saying “I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food.” But… I think it’s fine? She’s not saying that’s the only route, and clearly, she had a somewhat mild case. Shouldn’t we encourage the people with mild cases to stay home, rest, isolate, take vitamins and eat healthy food? Not every viral case needs hospitalization. Anyway, God knows I’m not a Melania stan or anything, but I found this statement unproblematic. If anything, she was making some pointed comments about how her husband has been acting like a one-man superspreader. And I hope Barron stays okay!

These people lie every time they open their mouths. “Natural” route is BS. She got the same experimental treatment as Trump.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Exactly, given they all lie as easily as they breathe. I suspect the entirety of Clan Clown tested positive- daughter/wife, FailSon, and Slow Eric and all S.O.s.

      • whatWHAT? says:

yeah, we haven’t seen Nagini or The Real Boy or the Chinless Wonder Heir in a while.

Poor Barron. he always looks so unhappy.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Not just that, but “they took care of each other”?? Hahahahahahahaha, yeah, no.

And if ANYONE thinks Ms, Einstein Visa wrote that herself, I have sea front property in Colorado to sell you.

      • CV says:

        haha same thought

      • lucy2 says:

I know, I flat out guffawed at that line. I bet she hasn’t seen her husband in weeks.
And her treatment is what everyone else with a less severe case did, if she is to be believed (she’s not).

I’m sorry their son got it, and I hope he doesn’t suffer any effects from it.

      • Agirlandherdog says:

The entire thing just sounded like a fictional account. Taking care of each other? Yeah right. My puh-lease was especially loud when I read the part about how she’s used to being the person encouraging our nation to stay safe and healthy… by not wearing masks or socially distancing.

    • Bettyrose says:

Yep. This crap is just them continuing to play down the seriousness if it. We’re facing a long road before our economy can safely reopen and these two have so much blood on their hands.

  2. Merricat says:

Most people with COVID are expected to stay home and let it run its course, and are only accepted into the hospital when blood oxygen drops to an emergency level. She can say she took a more “natural” approach, but really, everyone did. I took a natural approach to mine, too, but then, my healthcare is super expensive with huge deductibles, so shrugs to that.

    • Lizzieb says:

@merricat. Yes that has been the protocol all along for mild cases. Rest, take care and please distance to avoid spreading. Masks can be useful but they sometimes give a false sense of security. Not all masks filter the virus. Not all masks are worn correctly and then there is other user error. I’m glad she and Barron are doing better

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Yeah I thought only people who had a bad case got medical treatment otherwise just let it run its course. That seems to be the advice the world over.

      Plus Barron is SO TALL!!!!

  3. julia says:

I still don’t believe that Trump ever had it. It was a good way to deflect from the debate debacle, and when he survived, he could call himself “the best, most surviving survivor of Covid ever. It’s nothing to worry about and he was right all along about how to cure it and that it’s not that bad” etc, etc. Like no one in his office got really sick??? Did anyone actually have it? I have so many doubts.

    • L says:

Have you heard his recent interview on Fox News? You can hear major chest congestion in his voice and shortness of breath.

      • Yup, Me says:

Yeah, I think the drugs are propping him up- allowing him a nice long slow death. He may say he feels great. He may even think it. But his body is collapsing under that big ass narcissistic clown head of his. Drugs can work wonders, but they can’t make health where there is none and running around like this fool is doing is wearing his body down. Keep watching him.

  4. BearcatLawyer says:

Her “natural route” statement is lifted word by word from the antivax handbook. It is VERY problematic because it absolutely is a dog whistle to the anti-science wing nuts in the Republican Party.

And I find it hilarious that she refers to herself as “a person trying to encourage our nation to stay healthy and safe.“ Since when? She does not care about kids in cages or immigrants in detention centres. She does not care about online bullies and fake news spreaders (unless it involves people denigrating her husband or child). She did not wear a mask at two recent superspreader events. She needs to sit down and take all the seats.

    • Noodle says:

She also champions compassion and humility, so it’s pretty obvious “I don’t care do U?” Isn’t living in the same universe the rest of us are.

    • whatWHAT? says:

The “eat healthy” part grated on me, too.

these people MOCKED Michelle Obama for having a healthy eating initiative, and didn’t they pull out or at least stop maintaining the veggie garden MO put in? GFY, truly.

      • Jaded says:

“Eating healthy”? Sure Jan. Do you normally live on cheezburglers and coke like your effing husband but suddenly started eating fresh fruit and veggies? Stop with the ghost-written dog whistles….who wrote that for you? Stephen (aka “Adolph”) Miller?

    • Amy Too says:

The part that got me was where she’s talking about how we need to continue to be safe and healthy by taking our vitamins, getting fresh air, and eating healthy foods, when the context of her essay is how to survive Covid. She’s not writing about how she got over a cold and how we can make sure we don’t get a cold. She’s talking specifically about Covid. Yet, there’s nothing about how we should be wearing our mask, and social distancing, washing hands, and staying home if we’re sick, and not socializing with people who are Covid positive or have symptoms. No, it’s just “take some Herbalife supplements” and eat healthy.

  5. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

“It was me being taken care of now, and getting first-hand experience with all that COVID-19 can do.”

With her self- admitted minimal symptoms, no loss of life, job, home; no worries about access to medical care, food or support. No hospitalization, no CVA, no pneumonia requiring a ventilator, no sepsis, no ECMO. No neurological sequelae, no organ dysfunction or failure.

    F*ck you, Melanoma.

  6. Sarah says:

Good grief I never thought I’d agree with her. On anything. But yeah, if what she’s saying is true (IF) then if you don’t need medication don’t take medication. In the UK we have a real issue with over-prescription, particularly antibiotics, and it’s nothing to do with commercial greed/business as we pay a (low) fixed fee for all our prescriptions on the NHS, unless we’re exempt. The issue is people seeing a doctor and expecting to walk away with something.

    However, this did get me:
“It was an unfamiliar feeling for me to be the patient instead of a person trying to encourage our nation to stay healthy and safe.”

Err, how? Maybe the covid has affected her more than she realises and she’s hallucinating that she’s Michelle?

  7. HoofRat says:

If this statement included the phrase “F*** Christmas”, I’d believe Melanoma had a hand in drafting it. Poor Barron; he may have recovered from COVID, but being a Trump is an incurable condition.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

      😂 So true.

    • My3cents says:

Agree. There is no way she wrote that, too eloquent for her.
Of course whoever wrote this did not say anything about social distancing, quarantining yourself for the good of others, and the importance of mask wearing.

      • whatever says:

This, exactly. We all listened to those tapes, and frankly, her English is not this good. Now, I have no problem with that. I’m not multi-lingual, she is, so she’s ahead of me there. I don’t expect her English to be perfect. But it is what it is, and there’s no way she wrote this statement.

Also, who does she think she’s fooling with this “take care of one another and spend time together” nonsense? He was in the hospital, she was supposedly at the white house. They were not together. We all know that.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

You can’t fix republiTHUG stupid. It’s stupid on steroids.

I do feel for the little ones in that family, getting indoctrinated into their thinking. We know how malevolent Melanoma is, I’m sure her kid is exposed to her racist bullish!t daily.

  8. Noki says:

In my country(Tanzania) one of the few that declared there is no longer any covid 19 since around April, most people took the natural route too. A lot of ginger, lemon, lime and steaming. Its a country with one of the lowest cases and fewest deaths. People walk around like the rest of the world isnt even facing a pandemic. No masks in sight ,no mandatory sanitizer stands, schools, religious houses and all public business as usual. Even our neighbouring countries are stumped on how could this be.

  9. Jess says:

Perfectly fine letter. Giving the appearance of leadership and acting presidential isn’t that hard. This is what they should have been delivering for four years.

  10. Miranda says:

“It was an unfamiliar feeling for me to be the patient instead of a person trying to encourage our nation to stay healthy and safe.”

Practically the only time she saw fit to make a public appearance was to explicitly proclaim “I DON’T CARE” to babies in cages, and now she’s Eleanor F**king Roosevelt? F**k allllll the way off.

    • Lemons says:

She is familiar with in-patient and out-patient procedures. Her face tells no lies. I’m sure no shortage of doctors have worked on her.

  11. Lightpurple says:

There is a small medical center in the basement of the White House. Notice she refers to people taking care of her. And Barron had to stay with her so he didn’t infect his grandparents

  12. Who ARE These People? says:

“My husband the Commander in Chief…”

If she put an F-bomb in front of Commander, I’d believe it more.

  13. Bambilee says:

“Written” is exactly right. She doesn’t care (“..do you?” Ugh these people…), someone else wrote this to get the white suburban woman vote back. Also, she’s glad the three of them got it at the same time “so we could take care of one another and spend time together”?? I almost spit out my coffee over that line. Don the Con couldn’t care less about them. He didn’t spend time with them and he sure as hell didn’t take care of them. He didn’t even mention them. Narcissist is narcissist. He only thinks about and cares about himself. He doesn’t care about Melania or Barron, and he most definitely doesn’t care about America.

  14. Eleonor says:

First of all: she is younger and healthier than Orange Mussolini, her symptoms were not awful, and for a case like that (young healthy persons not too much symptoms) here in France doctors make you stay at home with no special treatments, to leave places at the hospitals.

  15. MCG says:

Barron looks like he has some tea to spill and from the accounts I’ve seen, seems to be a pretty cool and nice boy. It will be interesting to see what he does as he grows up. I hope that he is saved from the the affliction that the rest of his family suffers from.

  16. L says:

Get me a barf bag! How dare she put this out there as ‘understanding’ what so many Americans have experienced! They have teams of people taking care of them, doctors, cooks, housekeepers! These people are so tone deaf!

  17. Lizzie says:

Did Melanie turn down any treatments? No Tylenol for fever and aches, really?

She sees the embiggening stories written about Waity and wanted one for herself.

  18. Brigitte Aston says:

Oh please … save your bullshit. Her publicist clearly writes all commentaries. Melania can’t string a proper sentence together without a prompter. She lied about her education, she lies about being a supermodel and plagiarized her speech. Please read Tommy Lee’s Instagram of today , it’s a beauty. They had the best round-the-clock medical care and state-of-the-art everything else. This natural route business is a slap in the face to all Americans without health care.

  19. GroverSez says:

At a time when food insecurity is rampant, it’s tone deaf.

  20. april says:

I had a mild case with sore throat, congestion, fever. I immediately took the natural route with tons of supplements. Fortunately that worked and after about four days it went away. When an approved safe vaccine is available, I will definitely get the vaccine. Obviously Melania had a ghost writer who wrote that article.

  21. Kinsley says:

Baron is just 14 years old and he is THAT tall!! 😯 He is even taller than Jared Kushner and his dad!! Poor kid!! I mean, I like tall after all… I’m 20 years old and I’m 5’9 and my husband is 6’3, BUT Baron is another kind of tall!! He is going to be super big and that is not good!!

  22. ChillyWilly says:

Screw you, Melanie! You went to an unsafe event, contracted a deadly virus and then infected your kid! You suck and I feel so sorry for Baron. Poor kid has monsters for parents.

  23. emu says:

Yes I think this is a good message. Trying to encourage people to be healthy in general!

  24. AW says:

    Lies…lies…lies…

  25. cisne says:

what i wish for all of them I was taught Ishould not say no matter how much of the devil those people are. they get to recover when so many others did not becuase the listened to these ppl deny the seriousness of the virus. ah life is just not fair.

  26. godivalady says:

exactly! how anyone can think this PR drek is unproblematic is taking this in good faith, which is just silly at this point.
