The bullshit about Billie Eilish’s body is exactly why she usually covers herself up completely. No one has a right to comment. Good or bad, positive or negative, showing her skin does not give anyone a right to comment on it.
Totally agree. It makes me really sad for young women. Stuff like this can and does damage self-image for a long time, if not forever. It’s just cruel.
I have to say I never realised how creepy men can be… came across a subreddit about Billie Eilish that was clearly run before she turned 18. It’s still bloody creepy with her being 18. I supposed it shouldn’t be surprising (wasn’t there like a countdown for Emma Watson’s 18th..?) I’m just sickened by it
And another one for the Olsen twins, and the public/media obsession with Britney’s virginity. There was (is?) an unchallenged attitude that the sexuality of teen girls in the public eye was a free for all for the general public.
Yep, and that unchallenged assumption has come with so much abuse for most of those girls, + girls who don’t have their privilege. Everything from the creepiness you talked about and dehumanizing slurs, to people wishing violence on them and making them responsible for sexist, violent male behavior. What makes it worse is that we pretend it’s all harmless and something women of all sexual orientations are supposed to just get over early in their adulthood. On the left we’re not as quick to put those kind of age limits on men when it comes to their marginalized communities. A guy is never too old to take homophobia seriously. And a lot of times this double standard is imposed by older women, as well as men. I’m definitely rooting for her and Skai Jackson. All of them, really.
Christian Siriano is the best fashion designer. He is light years ahead of everyone else. Completely brilliant. I am blown away by everything he does for women. I love him. That is all. Have a nice day.
O I do too! His collections I never miss, drooling online. I first saw him on Project Runway and have kept up, a very generous human.
I’ve been re-watching all the old Project Runway series, and Christian Siriano is clearly so talented.
I came for BTS, but stayed for Lizzo and this dress 😀
