Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump want to sue the Lincoln Project for libel

Iraqi PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi visits UK

When Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away, I stopped following the Lincoln Project. I wish all of those Never Trumper Republicans well on their journey to try to buy back their souls. But I had one of those come-to-Jesus crystalizing moments that, no matter what, all of those Lincoln Project dudes are totally fine with Amy Coney Barrett. They’re totally fine with Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell remaking the federal courts into an army of hyper-conservatism which will affect Americans for the next fifty years. Those Lincoln Project dudes agree with Trump about a lot of stuff. They just don’t like him personally.

Still, the Lincoln Project guys are good at making ads. I’ll give them that. I guess they’re also flush with money? They decided to buy a billboard in Times Square, in New York, featuring Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner and the realities of the coronavirus numbers in America. The numbers are awful: 224,000+ Americans dead from the virus. America is setting new records for daily infections, with 85,085 NEW CASES reported last Friday. People aren’t social distancing anymore (although people are still wearing masks, at least in Virginia). There are no plans from this administration. So that’s what the Lincoln Project billboard was about: taking Ivanka and Jared to task for their inability to do jacksh-t about any of it. Hilariously – ?? – Javanka has threatened to SUE! My God.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are threatening to sue the Lincoln Project over billboards the anti-Trump group put up in Times Square assailing them over the White House’s coronavirus response.

In a letter to the group posted on Twitter on Friday night, an attorney for the president’s daughter and son-in-law demanded the “false, malicious and defamatory” billboards be taken down.

Marc Kasowitz warned that if the ads stay up, “we will sue you for what will doubtless be enormous compensatory and punitive damages.”

The Lincoln Project was defiant, saying in a scathing public statement that the billboards would stay up.

The billboards feature an edited photo of Ivanka Trump smiling and gesturing at coronavirus death tolls in New York and the U.S. — the original photo depicted her holding up a can of Goya beans — and a quote attributed anonymously to Kushner in a September Vanity Fair article.

[From Politico]

Javanka’s lawyers are calling it “libel,” because of the “quote” used for Jared. The VF article just has an unnamed source quoting Jared secondhand from a meeting about the coronavirus numbers several months ago. The full quote, from VF, had Kushner telling a group: “Cuomo didn’t pound the phones hard enough to get PPE for his state … His people are going to suffer and that’s their problem.” The full quote is equally damning, honestly? The fact that the Trump administration was withholding their stockpiles of PPE to states with critical Democratic governors is STILL appalling. And it’s STILL happening. Even in the past week, Trump has threatened to withhold testing funds and aid to states run by Democrats.

The Lincoln Project posted the threatening letter from Javanka’s lawyer. It IS sort of funny that less than two weeks before the election, Jared and Ivanka are threatening to sue a bunch of ex-Republicans over a billboard in a state which will go hard for Biden-Harris. I mean… none of this matters?

And the LP also posted their official response to Javanka:

I like the Lincoln Project only because they are so much better than the Dems at attacking. Their ads are really good (although I do think Biden’s team is doing a better job with the ads than Clinton’s team did.). Dems are often so worried about “going high” and the Lincoln Project doesn’t care about that.

As for their actual politics – they just want Trump gone. They don’t care about things like Barrett’s nomination bc they probably love her. So I’ll take them for the ads but I don’t expect them to save us after Biden is elected.

For this particular ad – the LP knew how to hit where it would hurt. Jared and Ivanka prob thought they were adored in NYC and at the very least it’s where they lived before DC, so I’m sure this is embarrassing for them, which is why it’s so funny.

    • Rae says:

Becks, you’ve saved me writing a reply. Agreed. I don’t forget their republicans, but they’re fighting style is what the Dem party was sorely missing.

      • Liz version 700 says:

Plus 2. We don’t need to adore them, but we dems damn sure need to learn how to fight like them.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Agreed… but for now, we need to get IN…we go from there. One step at a time! If LP helps, Godspeed to them (and I have to say, when I saw the billboards and the Atty response, I did a little dance of joy! Daughter-Wife and The Dead-Eyed Boy wanted nothing more than to really fit into NY society, and that will NEVER EVER happen!).

      • Betsy says:

@Rae – other than this ad, I pretty much disagree. Yes, Democrats need to fight low and dirty for once (and always), but the Lincoln Project stuff is usually so, so hacky.

      • Maevo says:

Agreed! Sorry Michelle Obama, I love you, but when they go low we need to walk all over them!!

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

That letter from The Lincoln Project is giving me life. When I grow up I want to be that letter.

      • H says:

My mother is a retired attorney and she said that letter is every lawyer’s dream to write. A giant, eloquent FU.

      • holly hobby says:

You should read the letter their attorney send to Jarvanka’s attorney. The outright disdain and snark made me laugh. Good job. You can probably find it on Twitter.

    • wildwaffles says:

I think it actually works out quite well to have them sling all the mud. Go ahead, tear your party apart from the inside. I will enjoy watching it. I really hope that the Dems remember that while the enemy of my enemy is my friend, once Trump is gone these people are not on our side.

      • Jay says:

Exactly – I think of LP as sort of mercenaries, who come in and needle Trump in a way that is more credible and more scathing than what Dems can do, and most importantly gives that small slice of “tradition” republicans who are uncomfortable with Trump a permission structure to vote against him.

I think their ads that focus on personal stories and values are great, but I think the really crude ones are kinda amateur and not effective, at least for me.

These billboards though are clearly designed to provoke exactly this response. I’ll bet LP had that letter ready to go just in case Javanka is really so dumb that they want every news outlet to run “Trump’s son and daughter in law deny that they are grifters and monsters, details coming up next!” LMAO.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Did you see the 60 Minutes interview (last week? Week before?). Steve Schmidt did say they are basically now completely unemployable as RepubliTHUGS ever again. I think they’d actually like to form a NEW party with the Moderates who want the “old” Republican values, not what the party has become.

Frankly, I’m of the BURN IT TO THE GROUND mindset and wish we had a REAL third party option.

    • FHMom says:

      They are doing God’s work.

    • Suz says:

If Jarvanka thought they they were adored in NYC, they are delusional. Both the Trump and Kushner families are despised there. I’ve read that the reason these two are married is because there were no respectable society families that would want them as a daughter-in-law/son-in-law.

    • Vava says:

      +1.
Plus the Lincoln Project is promising more attacks on Ivanka and Jared next week. I’m ready for it.

      • jwoolman says:

I hope they keep updating the numbers on that billboard.

      • jenellesTiktok says:

They were asking on Twitter for anyone who had billboard space that hasn’t already been reserved for the few days left before the election.

    • Golly Gee says:

I think part of the reason Ivanka is suing, is because she wants to run for president someday, so having her image smeared publicly and so full-on graphically by other Republicans will come back to haunt her down the road if she decides to run. Then pictures of those billboards will be popping up like mushrooms in the rain.

      • holly hobby says:

She can’t run if she’s a convicted felon, just saying. However the delusional thinking is cute.

    • Bella DuPont says:

I constantly find it baffling as to why the Democrats find it so hard to fight like this? They have told no lies or committed any crimes, all they’re saying is “Quite literally, fuck off. We’re doing what’s right.”

None of that simpering, go-high, negotiating with your terrorist, bullsh-t.

  2. Wiglet Watcher says:

I will not give to TLP, but I will enjoy these ads.

They had better not use public funds to sue, but of course they will because the whole family collectively is over a billion in debt to multiple unfriendly nations.

    • holly hobby says:

It would be dismissed outright. LP attorney response already indicated that public figures can be criticized and they look forward to the discovery portion. Yes they basically said, bring it on!

  3. Scal says:

Good luck with libel charges for senior WH officials-esp as vanity fair has sources and quotes.

They also have to prove it’s not true…AND that this somehow damages their financial standing, worklife, lifestyle, etc… so yea typical empty trump words

    • Merricat says:

Exactly. It’s not libel if it’s true.

    • minx says:

Yep, as the LP letter stated, because they are White House “advisors” they are public figures and not private citizens. Any suit would be tossed 🖕

  4. Digital Unicorn says:

Ha – the Plastic Princess and The Boy are just like dump, using lawyers to threaten and bully. The LP doesn’t care and their rebuttal is hilarious – they certainly know where to land their punches and bring the entertainment value.

NYC hates the Trumps and Kushners and these two would be even more stupid that even I thought they are if they think that the can return their to lick their wounds once Daddy loses.

  5. Chonky Cat says:

I hate them both so fucking much.

  6. Merricat says:

Jared and Ivanka are the creepiest pod-people I have ever seen.

  7. Tammy says:

I think he reminds me of that creepy guy on Gotham. He just looks so evil

    • Nev says:

He didn’t look like that before. Check out his before and after pics.

      • lobstah says:

Wait – WHAT happened to his face? I’m so confused. Would Botox give that corpse-like pallor to his skin? Before he was almost cute, if heartless slumlords are your thing, but now he looks so…non-human.

I agree on TLP – let them bring down their own party. I enjoy their efforts from an advertising perspective, but I won’t give them a dime. I have been eyeing a 46 hat from Biden’s site but I don’t want to buy it and jinx Joe! I’m so nervous about this election. Can we just have a group hug until November 4? (or whenever we find out the results)

      • Joanna says:

I think he had a subtle nose job and eyelid surgery. I have a crooked nose and they couldn’t make it completely straight so I still have a slight curve. I think they did a subtle nose job and couldn’t fix the crookedness. My nose looks better but it is still not straight. His eyes were hooded in the before pics so I think he had those done as well and they were too aggressive. As far as the paleness, idk. I get Botox and I don’t have a waxy pallor. I am extremely pale though, esp in the winter. He might just be the same way.

      • Betsy says:

@lobstah – a fck ton of injectables over the years, is my guess. Maybe a few tweak surgeries here and there, but I think his face is more plastic and toxin than it is human at this point.

  8. February-Pisces says:

Jared kushners face freaks me out. I feel like he’s wearing a plastic mask and underneath is some reptile alien creature like in Men in Black.

  9. C-Shell says:

I love that Ivanka’s billboard is digital and updates the death totals constantly. Moreover, I love that Javanka will be pariahs forevermore.

  10. Elizabeth says:

Yeah this is why I don’t follow them or the Meidas Project. They definitely have a role in poking at Trump but ultimately they’re just making a name for themselves and they’re still conservatives.

    • Chaine says:

I agree that they are OK with the supreme court nominee, and I hate that, but they are pushing for Biden to be elected, so for now there’s the old saying, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” And it is enjoyable watching the Republican party eat itself.

    • jwoolman says:

This isn’t about policy differences. I don’t mind that their own policy preferences are different from mine. Our first priority has to be to remove the Trump Family from the White House and our lives. They are hopeless grifters, corrupt past their eyeballs, and led by a sociopathic malignant narcissist who takes orders from the Kremlin (and other hostile foreigners he is in hock to) and has been merrily violating the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and other laws while on the public payroll for several years.

We have really never seen a situation like this before. Other countries won’t even talk to our intelligence people for fear that Trump will find stuff out and run to call Putin. He is trying to destroy NATO simply because Putin wants that to happen. Between his outright ignorance and his blatant corruptibility, he is a threat to us all.

So we need all the help we can get. We can work on policy issues and quarrels about what is damaging and what is not later, when we have some semblance of normalcy in the White House and Congress. You don’t worry about political purity when your house is burning down; everybody needs to be on the water bucket line. Thank you, The Lincoln Project. We’ll get back to arguing with you later.

  11. Lucy2 says:

What has surprised me about the Lincoln project though is that they are not just promoting getting rid of Trump, but they are telling people to vote blue all across the board. Senate, house, etc. I think they have seen their party turn into a dumpster fire, and it’s time to burn it all down. In the future we will probably be battling them again, but right now they are useful, and I’m all for it. However, I am annoyed that people are giving them so much money, when that could be donated to the actual candidates or liberal organizations.

    • Courtney B says:

That’s what they’ve said re: the other republicans. They’re all complicit and need to go if the party has any chance of winning back its soul.

      • jenellesTiktok says:

Yep. they called out Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton specifically as Trumpists that need to be defeated even if Trump is gone.

    • Silent Star says:

I get the sense that the LP is just trying to clean house — the real draining of the swamp.

I am not conservative, but I believe there is room in every country’s politics for conservatives, so of the LP can clean up the current Republican dumpster fire and start fresh with a party that represents conservatives in the USA (minus the bigotry, dishonesty and corruption that has now become synonymous with the Republicans), then I’m ok with it.

      • Vava says:

Yes, I think the LP is wanting to clean house too. Take back the Republican Party and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Send the wackos to form their own third party. I’m a DEM through and through, but I do admire what the Lincoln Project is doing.

  12. Lightpurple says:

Yesterday, the Lincoln Project released the response letter from its legal team that goes far beyond what the statement does to eviscerate the baseless, petty threats of Nagini and Voldemort. It’s brilliant, cites the precedent, provides the context for both Kushner’s quote and Nagini’s pose, pointing out the laws she broke in posing for the picture, and reminds them that any lawsuit will involve discovery. Discovery will destroy them.

    • Chica1971 says:

That legal response was FIRE! Simply written with so many insults ( poking fun at their hypocrisy) and I loved the footnotes.

    • BeanieBean says:

As I don’t twitter, I googled the full LP response. Now that’s how you respond to these nitwits!

    • Vava says:

love it. I wanted to see your comment too, because I admire you.

  13. Darla says:

We know Trump’s not returning to NY, he’s fleeing to Florida. (or out of the country all together). But is it possible Javanka think they’re coming back and taking up their old lives? Hugh Jackman may still pal around with them, but I don’t believe they’ll be welcome back into their old NYC circles, no.

    • H says:

My friend and I have taken bets with each other where the Trumps will flee after he’s out of office. Trump is only safe in FL until 2022, when hopefully DeSantis is voted out. I went for Argentina, where all Nazis go, and she went for Dubai. We argued about Israel, but decided Tel Aviv wouldn’t be good enough for Jared and Ivanka.

      • LightPurple says:

Nagini is angling for Dubai. Or Saudi Arabia. She won’t be welcomed in either place once she is no longer useful. She fails to grasp that major fact.

      • Dilettante says:

        North Korea

      • H says:

@Lightpurple, as a Jew, Nagini doesn’t want to go to Saudi. Take my word for it. If I was her, I’d try Dubai.

      • Silent Star says:

I think they have such an enormous legal tidal wave coming at them after this presidency that they will be arrested before they can leave the country.

And if they stay in the country, there is no way they will be able to continue any kind of normal life. They will have lost all their money and influence. Without that they are nothing.

I don’t know enough about American laws to know if this would be possible, but whatever authority has the power needs to quickly round them all up and arrest them all the moment Biden is declared.

Sadly, I predict that extremist supporters will rise up and there will be a lot of violence and unrest for several weeks or months until Biden is settled in and there can be a crackdown on it.

    • Sankay says:

How will his SS detail work if he leaves the country? Will the SS employees have to move, and with their families?

      • holly hobby says:

He loses that perk if he left the country. No govt employee is willing to go into exile for him.

    • LillyfromLilloeet says:

Yes, I am most curious about this especially–what society–and I mean that in the 19th century Edith Wharton sense, in New York will accept these two. I am curious as to how delusional they are. I am sure they have a couple of friends who will meet them for coffee or lunch. But I can’t see them being invited to public events and galas where their coffee and dinner friends might be, but would not want to be photographed with them. To be certain, no one in NYC would be caught dead at any soiree these two would attempt to host. Having school-age children might mitigate the wall of exclusion as there will be private school events, committees, and fundraising.

      • Silent Star says:

The only foreign countries that will shelter any of these Trumpians are the ones who will pay for national secrets. That’s why the moment Trump loses the election, the whole lot of them have to be rounded up and prevented from leaving the country, until they are tried in court for the countless crimes they have committed.

But even if he could leave, I don’t think Trump Sr. would be sheltered in any country, not even Russia. He has proven to be too much of an unpredictable liar and would be totally useless to them. I also don’t think Don or Eric are smart enough to have understood any useful national secrets to be of value. None of them will have enough money or influence left after this presidency to be of use to anyone.

I do think Jarrod and Ivanka, along with certain senior staff like Stephen Miller, know enough to be of value to foreign enemies and should be watched especially closely and prevented from leaving. They’re smart enough to have set up an escape plan already.

    • Vertes says:

Unlike NY, NJ, and most other states, Florida has no State income tax. (Neither does Nevada.) That’s probably why DT made FL his official residence a while ago.

      • Chrissy says:

That, and the fact that he’ll probably live at Mar-a-Largo, so every personal expense could be charged to his business account and he could write-off any taxes as business expenses. Until the IRS figures it out, at least. Oh, and it’s always warm in Florida, so thats’s a plus as well.

      • jenellesTiktok says:

Part of it was that the NY government was starting to breathe down his neck for his business crimes. DeSantis is a crook and would not be a problem for him.

    • sassafras says:

I’ve suspected for a bit that the Trumps’ next move is Israel. Javanka are Jewish and they’ve been acting like they’re peace gods. They can have citizenship there and wouldn’t be extradited. THey’ll bring Dad along. Melania will get on a yacht and never be seen again.

  14. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

I gotta admit, when I read it I cracked a huge smile. And an even bigger smile at their written response. It’s a shame Democrats can’t play hardball like this, but I’m also liking that it comes from the party nachoman chose to squat.

  15. Savu says:

If they want to sue for libel for the anonymous Jared quote, pretty sure they should be suing Vanity Fair. There’s a reason you see attribution in most political ads.

  16. Poisonella says:

Every time I see Jared it looks like he’s had more botox. I called it years ago with Bruce Jenner’s transitioning. Maybe he’s waiting for his Dad to die- the convicted felon.

  17. Rapunzel says:

That Jarvanka legal letter…. lol. That doesn’t sound at all like a lawyer wrote it.

And any judge with common sense is going to laugh this case out.

    • BeanieBean says:

I’m not a lawyer & don’t know any lawyers, but it seemed less than professional to me, too. Really low-brow. I don’t think they’re getting their money’s worth.

      • Cava24 says:

The lawyers probably did not come up with the ads, they just reviewed whatever the plans were and indicated whether they were legally problematic and then wrote the response to the Javanka lawsuit threat. The ads are lowbrow because the LP was going for a very visceral public shaming. Which is what will get the attention of anyone on the fence about Jared and Ivanka and will make them radioactive in the few places they were still accepted in Manhattan. They were always sort of tacky outsiders because their families are awful but there’s no hiding or them pretending to be the civilized ones now (remember how they were billed as more liberal counterweights to Trump’s worst policies In 2017? Not anymore) it’s just untenable for them. Having said that, there will still be really gross far right conservatives who welcome them but that’s not who they want to hang out with.

The LP will find some guys who are Eric Cantor style-Republicans and start fighting Biden the second he gets into office. Paul Ryan will likely run for a Senate seat in WI if someone can make it attractive for Ron Johnson not to run in 2022, that will be a key feature of their reboot.

  18. MaryContrary says:

I follow the Lincoln Project-they are absolutely spot on with all their anti Trump stuff-but they do also go after all the Republicans who are aiding and abetting this monstrosity. They are very much vote Blue-they promote Democratic candidates for the House and Senate.

  19. TitusPullo says:

I have complicated feelings about the Lincoln Project. It’s clear that at least a few of them have come to understand the inherit racism their party has been pushing for decades, while others simply want Trump gone. I’m currently reading Stewart Stevens “It Was All A Lie” and he’s really going in on himself and his former party, but whether he means it or not 🤷‍♀️

Regardless, I think they are brilliant ad makers and that they 100% expected and planned for this response from Javanka. And I think given the rise of domestic terrorism and the cult of Q, we are going to continue to need their help moving forward.

And I’m really looking forward to Tom Nichols (sr advisor of LP) new book, because The Death of Expertise was pretty timely to all this a Trump bullshit!

  20. Mumbles says:

Why are they doing a billboard in Times Square when N.Y. is going Dem and there are no tourists? Could it be, say, thirsty and performative?

These losers were on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago and Lesley Stahl asked how they could rationalize their hatred of Trump and the work many of them did (Schmidt in particular) of Sarah Palin, who was the proto-Trump with her hatred of immigration and her embrace of ignorance. Would it surprise you to learn they don’t have a good answer?

    • salmonpuff says:

That billboard has an audience of two: Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. A lot of LP’s advertising isn’t aimed at voters (the ads that are look more like typical political ads), but are aimed at poking the bear(s) in the White House. They’re trying to provoke the exact response JK and IT gave them. That’s also why they did all those Brad Parscale ads earlier this year — they weren’t trying to convince the Vote Blue crew of anything. They were trying to get under Trump’s skin and get Parscale fired.

I think most of the LP are total a-holes, but they know exactly what they’re doing.

      • PunkyMomma says:

Agreed. Rick Wilson (of LP) said the Jarvanka will never be invited to the Met Ball again. Think about the humiliation.

    • sassafras says:

The same reason why they run their commercials on the DC FOX News station. THey’re going after a very limited audience; Trumps and their lackeys who have to deal with the fallout.

      • holly hobby says:

Yep they are making sure no one forgets who the players are and what their sins are. This is long time insurance and I’m glad they are banging the drum hard. Dems would be “forgive and forget.” I’m not into that with this group.

  21. salmonpuff says:

I don’t think all of the LP peeps are fine with ACB, but I’m sure some of them are. LP is also launching (or has launched?) an effort to defend voting rights. At least a few of them seem to have wrestled with the damage they have wrought and renounced many of their former friends and colleagues. I’d rather give to more progressive orgs doing the work, but I appreciate that they serve as a gateway for other conservatives who are (too slowly) waking up. But maybe I’m going too soft on them since my parents are full-on Trumpers, and it’s nice to hope that conservatives can evolve.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Salmonpuff, never lose hope. After 2016 it took me a good 18 mos to wean turn my Trumper dad off Faux “News” and into a True Blue, Vote Down the Line Dem, lol, but it CAN be done! He voted for EVERY Dem candidate this time, proudly voting for Biden/Harris. You should hear him yell at the TV if one of the republiTHUGs comes on the news! It’s a thing of joy in my heart lol

  22. Insomniac says:

I don’t know what the deal is with the Lincoln Project and I have no illusions that these guys are angels, but I’m glad they’re on our side for now. The Trump campaign has been really desperate to find a smear against Biden that will stick, and I think they’ve failed so hard at that because all the really good, diabolical GOP operatives defected to the LP.

That really struck me during the last debate when Trump was throwing out all these Fox News smears, and Biden and most people watching were like “Huh?” Time was when GOP campaign managers would have known how to get all those claims broadcast all over the country. Swiftboating ain’t what it used to be, and thank goodness.

  23. Candikat says:

The LP response is even better if you know this history of “NUTS!” Briefly, in WWII a German commander sent an envoy to an American camp to suggest that the Americans surrender, with false threats of ambush and loss of life if they didn’t. The Americans had to wake up their commander for a response, and his bleary first word was “Nuts!” Hours later, needing to send a written response to the Germans, they decided “NUTS!” was as good an answer as anything. But the Germans didn’t understand the cultural reference, so the Americans sent an interpreter to explain that the meaning of the response was, in fact, “F*** you, idiots.”

    • CrazyCatLady says:

Thank you. Very interesting. I wonder if LP knew this when they wrote it.

      • holly hobby says:

They do. Surprisingly Steve Schmidt’s knowledge of history is pretty good. If you ever read any of his Twitter threads, especially when he goes after a trumper, he does bring a good deal of historical fact in them.

    • jenellesTiktok says:

I thought of Battle of the Bulge too. I think you are right.

  24. Jay says:

Also, I thought the President told everyone that New York was a ghost town? So how would anybody see this billboard? Weeeird🤔🤔🤔.

  25. Just A Thought says:

LP ads stick with people. The Dems needs to learn how to put ads together like that. If your state have early voting. Vote.

  26. Coco says:

    Great job Streisand Effect-ing yourselves, J & I.

    • el_annoy says:

Exactly. I, sitting here in the flyover land, would not have heard of the billboard were it not for Javanka pitching a hissy fit about it. Smooth move, guys.

  27. Veronica S. says:

Damn, talk about Barbara Streisand effect. Put it in Times Square where mostly New Yorkers will see it, and now it’s national news because these two are throwing a fit.

  28. Greywacke says:

These ads do go beyond NYC if covered by news outlets. Times Square is iconic and known around the world. It has been visited by millions from the US and internationally Posting them there was very smart. This is a message to the world. I bet it even hits BBC news.

  29. Valerie says:

It isn’t libellous if it’s true.

  30. SpiritedMisfit says:

@Kaiser, I’d love to know what part of Virginia you’re referring to. I just got home from some time in the Martinsville/Danville areas. The only place I saw people masking up was around Roanoke 😒 It was disturbing to walk into businesses and see either no one masked up (including employees) or only a small handful of people.
As for the Lincoln Project…good on them for calling those narcissists out. Let them TRY to go after TLP. They’ll fail in their frivolous lawsuit much like Ivanka’s father.

  31. I want those aholes in prison. They are ridiculous idiots.

  32. Stacy Dresden says:

The post Trump years may be highly entertaining.

  33. Bread and Circuses says:

The Trumps always threaten to sue and then never do because too much of their own dirty laundry would get aired out in the discovery phase of the trial.

  34. JanaTHING says:

One would think the Kushners would be much more concerned with Don Jr’s ex, Aubrey O’Day’s tweet about how much Don Jr. hates his dad, that Ivanka is a Lesbian and Jared her beard, and that Eric banged Miss Universe on The Apprentice boardroom table….

    • holly hobby says:

Wow! I heard rumors that the Kushner kids were conceived IVF because Jarvanka doesn’t do it the old fashioned way. Who knows?

  35. Deanne says:

Could Jared Kushner look any more evil? He looks like he could star in a new version of The Omen.

  36. ThinkAboutIt says:

You go to war with the allies you have. The first order of business is defeat Trump. Period.

We went to WW2 with Russia. We weren’t allies after.

  37. Steph says:

They could have placed that ad elsewhere, it was definitely a waste of money here. Fun (not really) fact: NYS, a large portion of Long Island and the majority of Staten Island are red. The population in the other four boroughs is large and blue enough to out vote them. The first time I saw a blue/red map of us, I was actually really surprised how small the blue portion was bc we always win.

    • Kkat says:

That wasn’t the point, they got the exact response they were looking for with that billboard

  38. jferber says:

Jared looks like a warlock in a really smarmy episode of The Ghouls of Washington D.C. (I just made that up, so it’s true). Learn from your enemies.

  39. jferber says:

Didn’t Jared’s family get Millions of Dollars from trump’s phony small business incentive? How is that NOT criminal and ethics violations? Wasn’t his daddy in jail for such crimes?

  40. Winterforever says:

    GOULS

  41. Amelie says:

OOOOH that’s why I kept seeing this billboard on my Twitter timeline! People kept reposting it with the caption “Is this the billboard I’m not allowed to repost?” and I didn’t get the joke! I was too tired to try to investigate why it was controversial and what the intention was behind it.

  42. sassafras says:

I’m also fine the Lincoln Project. As far as I’m concerned they are trying to redeem themselves. They’re committing career suicide if Trumpism wins. Our republic is going to better off without the current incarnation of the Republican party. If we replace them with ethical, educated, not bigoted conservatives instead? I’m fine with that.

  43. Mina_Esq says:

It’s the only move these disgusting bullies have, except that they are used to suing those without any power or money.
