Ben Carson, Mark Meadows & other White House staffers are Covid-positive

There have been, by my count, three major superspreader moments within the White House, or among White House staff and allies. The first was the sad Nazi rally in Tulsa, which was billed as Donald Trump’s big return to Nazi-rally campaigning. Few people wore masks and there were many infections around that event, including many on Mike Pence’s staff, Kimberly Guilfoyle (Don’s girlfriend) and Hermann Cain (who later died from corona-complications). Then there was the White House superspreader event in late September for Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination. That was the big one – Donald Trump, Melania Trump, assorted Nazi Barbies, Chris Christie and tons of others tested positive in the days and weeks following that event.

And it still wasn’t enough to get all of these a–holes to wear masks and social-distance. After spending the last month in various crowded airport hangars, it’s little shock that everyone around Trump seems to be getting Covid. Over the weekend, we learned that the White House chief of staff Mark Meadows is out with the virus (lol) and on Monday, we learned that HUD Secretary Ben Carson is also now corona-positive. Both Meadows and Carson attended Trump’s Election Night Nazi party last Tuesday. The NY Times reports that “five other White House officials also tested positive for the virus in the days before and after Election Day.”

In reading all of the post-mortems of the 2020 campaigns, I’ve been struck by how much of the Biden campaign hinged on Trump screwing up the pandemic so badly. People within the Democratic Party even questioned the wisdom of Biden’s cautious approach towards rallies and social distancing, but I absolutely think Biden was proved right. Speaking of, President-Elect Joe Biden announced his Coronavirus Task Force yesterday and he put an emphasis on the biggest common-sense solution out there: WEAR A DAMN MASK. (PS… isn’t it just so nice to have a boring president-elect who talks in full sentences and is sensible and wonky?)

Good. Hope he suffers. What a fall from grace and a forever tarnished legacy.

    • Nina Simone says:

It really is mind boggling. He was one of my heroes as a kid, many black kids in particular really looked up to him. I wonder if he even has the self awareness to understand how he singlehandedly tarnished his own legacy.

Also, as the post Mortem of the trump administration begins after Biden takes office, I wonder the kinds of mismanagement and atrocities will be uncovered at HUD. My guess is that it won’t be pretty.

Herman Cain, a black man in the administration, died, and trump and his racist coven, they barely noticed. They won’t care if Ben Carson dies either.
The GOP very simply does not believe that black lives matter.
Not the point of the article I know.
    But it’s horrifying.

    • goofpuff says:

Well Trump and his white cronies get access to healthcare and medicine that none of us can afford. They live off the government welfare and social healthcare for themselves, but don’t want it for anyone else, especially if they are anyone of color even if they are Trumpers.

    • Lucy2 says:

I don’t believe Cain worked in the administration, but definitely got sick at the Oklahoma rally. It’s pretty incredible how everyone in that circle was just kind of like eh, too bad, and moved on.And they will do the same to Carson if he dies as well. Period

    • Adrienne says:

This was my 1st thought too! Herman Cain was one of the few token African-Americans that the GOP liked to keep around for optics, and he died and literally NOBODY cared. Ben Carson will absolutely get the same treatment. This administration has shown over and over again that they don’t care about black lives.

If I were Biden I would seriously sanitize the place before moving in.

    • Ms. Blake says:

I was just saying that to my husband the other day. I think we need to start a second round of fundraising so Biden and his staffers can hire the world’s best hazmat team to clean the white house.

Sadly, I don’t think there is a concentration of bleach strong enough to eradicate all the orange spray tan/foundation/spackle (or whatever it is Trump uses to achieve that bizarre skin color) off the walls but it’s worth a shot.

    • My3cents says:

I was just thinking they’d probably need to order one of those big tents that cover the house, and fumigate the place after he finally leaves.

  4. BlueSky says:

And Bishop Harry Jackson Jr who was at that sham Amy Coney Barrett event also died.

  5. heygingersnaps says:

    No sympathy for them.

  6. Mc says:

    Thoughts and prayers.

  7. MyNAME says:

I mentioned to a friend how sad it was we were happy to have someone who could think coherently and speak in full sentences.

  8. GoldenGirl14 says:

My husband and I were discussing this. Ben Carson is a doctor and knows better. This is stupid. And he saw what happened to Herman Cain who died and the GOP moved on. What a waste of a legacy.

  9. Izzy says:

Yeah, he’s supposedly resting comfortably at home and on the road to recovery.

So was Herman Cain, until he wasn’t. So good luck with that.

After watching Carson’s confirmation and subsequent hearings on updates of HUD
( Katie Porters takedown was delicious ) I have zero sympathy. His smug, entitled demeanor in contrast with his total lack of knowledge was galling to watch. I don’t wish his demise, but a comeuppance is long over due!

    • sa says:

Katie Porter’s take downs are always delicious. I told a friend recently that I was jealous of the people who got to vote for Katie Porter and my friend didn’t know who she was (😲). I was surprised when my friend, who’d looked her up, said she’d only been in office since January 2019, it feels like I’ve loved her for much longer than that.

  11. sa says:

I haven’t seen pictures of Ben Carson at events, but I guess I just assumed that as a doctor he wouldn’t be anti-mask. Did he wear masks at events or was he as maskless as the rest of the Trump cronies?

  12. Lucky Charm says:

Being COVID-19 positive is the only positive thing this (mis)administration has done.

  13. Shazze says:

Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people. They sucked up to Trump for power, and now they’ll go down in history as moronic reprobates.

  14. holly hobby says:

Oh you mean Mark “We just have to let the virus run amok because we can’t control it” Meadows got it? I don’t feel sorry for any of these dummies. They are risking their lives to appease a damn baby (apologies to real babies).
