Oh no, Donald Trump is so mad at AG Bill Barr that Trump might fire him

Trump Executive Order Punishing Facebook, Google and Twitter

When President-elect Joe Biden announces his pick for Attorney General, it will feel like Christmas morning to me. One of the things which has upset me the most the past four years is seeing how the Obama-era Eric Holder-DOJ was turned into this cesspool of mafia types and bullsh-t. AG Jeff Sessions was an awful little hobbit, but the Sessions era was the golden age compared to the DOJ under AG William Barr. I still would love to see Biden choose Eric Holder as Attorney General again, or maybe Sally Yates (which would be AWESOME). Biden will have to remake Justice and there should be mass firings, but I doubt Biden will do it that way. Speaking of mass firings, Donald Trump seems to want his last 48 days in office to be spent on petty grudges and tweet-firings. Trump is apparently really, really mad at his mob lawyer William Barr:

President Trump remained livid at Attorney General William P. Barr on Wednesday, with one senior administration official indicating there was a chance Barr could be fired — not just for his public comments undercutting Trump’s unfounded claims of election-shifting fraud, but also for steps he did not take on a probe of the FBI’s 2016 investigation into Trump’s campaign.

A day after Barr told the Associated Press that he had “not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election,” Trump continued to complain about his attorney general, people familiar with the matter said. One senior administration official said there was a chance Trump would fire his attorney general and asserted that the president was not merely frustrated over Barr’s fraud-related assertions. The person said that several people are trying to persuade Trump not to do so. Like others, this official spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

Trump, the official said, was perhaps even angrier that Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham did not issue a public report of his findings before last month’s election, and that Barr had secretly appointed Durham as special counsel in October, giving him extra legal and political protection to continue the work he started a year ago. Durham is examining whether crimes were committed by law enforcement during its 2016 investigation of whether Trump’s campaign coordinated with Russia.

“A lot of it is Durham,” the official said. A Justice Department spokeswoman declined to comment.

Asked at a news conference Wednesday whether Trump still had confidence in Barr, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said, “The president, if he has any personnel announcements, you will be the first to know it.”

[From Washington Post]

Oh no, what will do as a nation if Donald Trump fires his sycophantic Attorney General – who spent the bulk of his tenure acting as Trump’s personal attorney – in the last 48 days of the Trump presidency? What will we do as a nation if Trump decides to fire everybody in Justice? Won’t Joe Biden just cry himself to sleep in his basement for weeks if Trump does all of the house-cleaning in DOJ and Biden gets to appoint everybody from scratch in January, with no Trump-era holdovers? That would be awful! It would be as awful as all of those Republicans writing in Trump’s name in the Georgia special election! As libs, we would be so owned. It breaks my heart just to think about it.

If Barr gets fired, it’s for allowing that “pay for pardons” investigation to get leaked.

    That’s the most damning thing.

Trump fires everyone who disagrees with him or steps out of line. Barr knows where all the bodies are buried so to speak and could sing on a dime if he gets fired and someone waves the right court summons or cashiers check at him.

That’s what tinpot dictators do. He will forever remind me of that episode of the “twilight zone” where that tyrant sees enemies in a special mirror and it turns out that the mirror was showing who the enemy was all along: himself.

I googled what Serling said at the end of that episode because there was always a lesson to be learned from that show:

“ Ramos Clemente, a would-be god in dungarees, strangled by an illusion, that will-o’-the-wisp mirage that dangles from the sky in front of the eyes of all ambitious men, all tyrants—and any resemblance to tyrants living or dead is hardly coincidental, whether it be here or in the Twilight Zone.”

A commenter predicted yesterday Barr will be fired by Friday

Seeing as Barr is a Christocrat, he will never spill the beans and Trump knows it. I hope Biden appoints Doug Jones to AG. He doesn’t have an ax grind in the same way Yates does so it will be easier for him to go after the Trump crime syndicate.

Biden does need to clean house, because like everything else he says “the deep state is out to get me” is projection from Trump. He will have trump loyalists buried there and they will work night and day to hurt Biden and other Dems. They will be looking to take down Kamala, the likely future nominee especially. Clean it out. Obama made a huge mistake not cleaning out the FBI NYC field office, and allowing that nest of thugs to fester. And putting Comey the coward as director, assuring they would never experience even the slightest pushback. Learn, please learn Joe.

I hope he fires Beer Boy and the Handmaid after they refuse to hand him his election – his 45min video rant was just unhinged. He basically begged the SC to make him a ‘winner’.

    • Rapunzel says:

Um… he can’t fire a Supreme Court Justice. They’re lifetime appointments. Dems can find cause to impeach, though. It’s there in Kavanaugh’s cases.

  7. Becks1 says:

Good, fire him. Somehow we will survive and move on.

  8. SM says:

So basically anyone who does not participate in his delusional lies are being fired by a tweet. The level to which this looser degraded the office of the President is unbelievable and he still did not reach the bottom. I mean how dare anyone contradict the emperor. On some level I think he sits in rage in WH alone with no people who really care about him fuming over the fact that even his puppets are slowly refusing to participate in this lie. He probably can not comprehend how republican officials in battleground states just refused to entertain this craziness. He probably has hard time digesting the reality, that he can not bend anything to his will and that they have a line they would not cross, such as the will of the people. I hope that stings him for a very very long time.

There is no one Trump won’t toss aside or throw under the bus once they are no use to him. I cannot wait until it’s Javanka that turn on him to save their own necks. It’s going to be magnificent.

  10. Josie Bean says:

Fire Barr??? That would be too good to be true as it would show how more and more deranged Trump is becoming.

  11. holly hobby says:

Barr is most likely backing away from the cliff since he knows he has to leave in January. Not only did deny election fraud, he also barred Rump’s eyes and ears from entering the building. It was leaked to the AP today that one of Miller’s handmaidens was installed in DOJ to spy for the admin. She was pressuring employees to provide information on cases re election fraud etc. She was also doing illegal hires of her pals. DOJ barred her from the building.

That and the pay for pardons leaks indicates to me that Barr is done with this idiot. He can go fire him but remember Barr knows where all the bodies are buried (including Epstein). I’m not a fan but I am relishing the internal cannibalization.

    • Mandy says:

He probably will. He requires 100% loyalty. We do not want to encourage anyone to write in his name in Georgia for senate. When they get to the polls and can’t write in a vote then they will vote for the republican senators. Instead we need to encourage them to boycott because they didnt help Trump win their state.
