There were jokes going around that Kris Jenner had a hand in organizing the January 6th insurrection as a way to draw attention away from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s incipient divorce. What’s even funnier is that I actually think Kim is really mad that so many other stories are pulling focus away from her marriage drama. She keeps leaking sh-t to People Magazine to remind people about it. It’s like she’s screaming “don’t forget about MY melodrama!” I mean, I’m on Kim’s side about the divorce, but yeesh. It’s strange to see Kim performing this indecisive Hamlet act every week in People Magazine, but I have a new theory about why she’s doing it: I’m starting to wonder if Kim wants Kanye to be the one to file for divorce. This piece is what convinced me:
An official split between Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West may be fast-approaching, a source tells PEOPLE. According to the source, the stars, who tied the knot in May 2014, have “completely” stopped going to marriage counseling. A separate insider told PEOPLE earlier this month that the couple was in marital therapy in an effort to salvage their fractured relationship.
“He is talking to divorce lawyers this week,” the source adds of the 43-year-old Grammy winner.
Reps for Kardashian and West did not respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment. The news comes less than two weeks after multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 40, plans to file for divorce from West and has been working with high-profile divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
“They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family,” one insider told PEOPLE. “And Kim is okay with it.”
Kardashian and West share daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, who turns 2 in May. As the reality star works towards her law degree and continues to fight for criminal justice reform, she wants to keep her focus on her children and her career. “Kim knows what she wants to do with her life,” said the insider. “She wants to keep living in L.A., create the best life for the kids and focus on her work passions.”
According to sources, following nearly seven years of marriage, Kardashian feels her future doesn’t align with West’s, especially following his 2020 presidential run and controversial Twitter rants. “Kim has become more independent and has lost patience with his antics, rants, the presidential campaign and tweets,” a TV industry source said. “The love story between Kim and Kanye has been over for a long time. They adored each other but have too many differences.”
We’ve heard for weeks from Page Six and People’s sources that Kim has hired Laura Wasser and that she already has plans for everything, from splitting up finances and real estate to what will probably be a custody battle. So… why hasn’t Kim filed yet? Is it because she was waiting for Kanye to come to Jesus, realize that their marriage is beyond repair, hire his own lawyer and file for divorce? It would make some kind of sense, especially because I believe Kim has avoided filing for divorce because she was worried she might trigger another manic episode for Kanye. Manipulating Kanye into thinking the divorce is his idea might solve some of that.

There’s a lot of mental health related issues happening here and a lot more behind the scenes that I’m not going to diagnose or judge. Or even find some escapism in unfortunate family events. Ugh those poor kids.

Well it’s definitely Kim who is “leaking” info to People Mag. We all know she isn’t earning a Law Degree ! She needs to stop telling people that. She’s studying for the Bar exam.

Well she hired two lawyers who spoon feed her the bare minimum she needs to know to pass the Bar exam. I don’t know if she’s already written the Baby Bar, but I did hear rumblings that she failed it and is going to write it again? I don’t know but one thing I do know is she is NOT in Law School and it bothers me she keeps insisting she is !

It bothers me because she is NOT in Law School. Why lie about it? She’s studying for the Bar. She is not enrolled at a Law School at any University. She keeps insisting she’s in Law School and it’s a slap in the face for those who are actually in Law School.
I fully believe Kim is annoyed the media is for the most part ignoring her divorce drama. This is the only article I’ve read about Kim and Kanye in weeks. I think after COVID, BLM, the drama pre and post-election, and the January 6th insurrection, people are just tired and the Kardashians and their antics fall way last on the list of things to care about. Also their show is wrapping up (I think they finished filming?) and I don’t think Kim’s divorce will be featured on the show. In the past, all her siblings’ relationship breakups were heavily featured on the show and in the news. They got their turn to be in the spotlight and run to tabloids and milk it for all it was worth. I do think she is being strategic about the filing because if Kanye thinks it’s his idea, he’s probably less likely to spiral and rant on Twitter. Also Kim definitely wants to be seen as an aggrieved, put upon, long-suffering wife and mother who has been trying to deal with Kanye’s fragile mental health. She absolutely wants her “turn” to show how much she’s sacrificed over the course of her marriage and the media can barely pretend to care. I also think since this is her third marriage, there’s also an element of pride. She doesn’t want to be the one to officially pull the plug, she wants Kanye to be the one so she doesn’t have to admit being in a relationship was a huge mistake from day 1. But we don’t need 345435 articles about how the marriage has broken down and divorce is imminent, which is what we have been getting since last summer.
She married Kris Humphrier so she could have an wedding special just like Khloé and Lamar. I’m sure she will milk her divorce on air.
Since everything Kanye does is perceived as a “genius” idea for the Kardashians, if he files for divorce they’ll be able to spin this as an amazing creative solution that only Kanye could come up with. They’ll even wear Yeezus divorce collection, Kim will release a whole collection of concealers called and they’ll have an special episode called “Kim And Kanye’s Klosure”.
OmG. I can’t even laugh fully at this because yeesh, it all might actually happen.
It is very difficult when a loved one can’t take accountability for their health especially people with bipolar or schizophrenia. We have revolutionized our technology and way if living, yet our understanding of brain disorders are still limited to this day. Why do we have so many homeless people? Many of them suffer from mental health issues and have no access to programs or laws in place to benefit patients and families.
But when you have disposable wealth and enablers at your feet while feeling manic, you’re invincible, not weak or sick. It’s exhausting to deal with a partner and be a good parent to protect your children at the same time. It would be such a great cause or Kim to establish a project that will address this issue. Not a fan, but I respect her business acumen and feel bad for her and the kids.
Again….she continued to bring kids into this melodrama. The only people I feel for in this scenario are the kids.
I wouldn’t wish a relationship with Kanye West on anybody.
Motives and greed, toxic diet culture and shallowness- whatever she is guilty of, i feel true, deep sympathy for her.
As an aside,, i am impressed with her focus on criminal justice reform.

They can NDA him up to the hilt but that doesn’t stop him making an albumn filled with tracks shading the Kar-Jens.
If I were her I’d definitely want to push him to file first and make it seem like his idea so he doesn’t blow up on twitter again. Yes she is protecting her family’s image but from the past things he’s tweeted who can blame her. I think she wants to get divorced as quietly as possible without him going off the deep end.

I have to respectfully disagree. If Kim wanted to divorce Kanye right now she would. The Kardashians aren’t considerate or loving when it comes to publicity, so this theory doesn’t make sense to me. Since when has Kim shied away from the lights and camera? If anything, she’s waiting for the publicity from the election season to die down so she can shine.
