Emily Ratajkowski claims she’s not getting lip injections while pregnant

CJfUuOxMyCT

I was listening to the radio as I was driving somewhere a few days ago and “Blurred Lines” came on and I thought about how weird and almost quaint it was that Emily Ratajkowski became super-famous just from that one music video. That was years ago! And she managed to parlay that dumb music video into a legit career as a model/actress/feminist. Whenever she posts anything on her social media, sites like the Daily Mail run the pics and those are usually some of the most viewed stories. It’s all very strange. Anyway, Emily is pregnant. She announced her pregnancy last October and I honestly forgot about all of it, even though she posts photos of her bump quite regularly. In her social media photos, you can also see that her lips have gotten a lot bigger too. Which is quite common with pregnancies – a lot of women find that they get “pregnant face” and “pregnant lips.” But some people think Emily has been getting her lips artificially pumped.

Emily Ratajkowski is speaking out about her changing body during pregnancy. The model, 29, posted a candid picture to her Instagram Stories on Friday in which she addressed questions from fans about the length of her pregnancy and whether or not she has received lip injections. Ratajkowski first tackled the question about facial fillers, telling her followers that she has “never had lip injections” and in no way was “judging folks who do.”

“You can’t even get injections when you’re pregnant!” the mom-to-be explained. “A woman’s blood volume increases 50% which is why ladies can get a little puffy in the face and lips during pregnancy.”

Ratajkowski then shared that she has been getting comments lately from people saying “you’ve been pregnant forever.”

“LOL yes pregnancy lasts for 40 weeks which can definitely feel like a long time, but I announced halfway into my pregnancy and it’s only been 3 months since then! Actually it’s weirdly gone by very quickly to me,” she wrote. Ratajkowski went on to explain that while it’s “weird to have your body change so much in a matter of months” she has found a “whole new appreciation for what [her] body can do and what is beautiful…”

[From People]

I was one of those people who thought she was getting her lips jacked before her pregnancy. I just didn’t believe that she naturally had that bust AND those puffy lips and that some of it was probably surgically enhanced. But maybe I was wrong! And for real, pregnancy does weird things to a lot of women’s faces and bodies. I remember being startled by how much Beyonce’s face changed when she was pregnant with the twins. Jessica Simpson’s lips were so swollen during her pregnancies too.

Yeah I think people should lay off pregnant women’s appearances.

    • katharine says:

She is a model and is posing for photos. Everything is about her appearance.

    • Regina Falangie says:

When my neighbor was pregnant her nose swelled twice it’s size, just her nose. She also had a lot of swelling in her feet and ankles. It was so dramatic and disturbing (to me at the time) it caused me to slow my roll on making babies. I put off having my first child for a couple of years because I was so worried that it would happen to me. My mom convinced me that every one and every pregnancy is different. Turned out I had beautiful pregnancies with each child and I didn’t swell at all. Long story short, pregnancy does crazy shit to your body. I’m gonna go ahead and believe her.

  2. Bibi says:

she is full of sh*t. When you get pregnant face, you get the pregnant face on your whole face not just the your lips. who really falls for stupid sh*t like this, seriously?

    • Jules says:

exactly, but she will keep lying about it and playing the victim because that is what keeps her famous.

      • lobstah says:

100%! And she had an excuse all laid out – “A woman’s blood volume increases 50% which is why ladies can get a little puffy in the face and lips during pregnancy”

        Riiiiight….totally natural…

    • Aphra says:

Sorry, but I 100% had pregnancy lips (I loved them!).

      • Sequinedheart says:

I also got massive preggo lips when having my baby and it wasn’t injections. Lay off people whose bodies are going through massive changes.
Some peoples noses widen, some peoples asses widen. Everyone reacts differently, with the extra blood and other fluid produced by pregnancy, things in different areas will swell.
Calm down with your keyboard cosmetic warrior behavior & let a lady live.

      • Drea says:

I’ve seen people with pregnancy lips too. Thing is, I’d like to get a look at her lips in profile view. Then you could tell if it were one or the other. Pregnancy lips don’t look like duck bills in profile.

    • K-Peace says:

Exactly. Give me a f***ing break! Does she think people are blind & stupid?!? ONLY her lips—not her nose, suspiciously—blew up to ridiculously huge proportions. That is definitely from injections.

And she looks absolutely ridiculous. Laughably bad.

I’m so tired of all these vapid, fake celebrities and all their bullsh*t that they spew to the public, and people actually believe it, and even worse they think these lying, artificial, insipid, talentless people are people worth looking up to and trying to emulate. It’s sickening.

    • katharine says:

      Thank you for your sanity.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Apparently for her, it remains confined to her upper lip.🤷🏼‍♀️

    • Kaykay says:

Honestly I got really puffy lips while pregnant.

  3. Arabella says:

She was definitely getting her lips jacked pre-pregnancy though. Just look at her photos from when she was a toddler, full lips but nowhere near the massive ones she had a year ago.

    • Tiffany :) says:

If you google her name and iCarly, you can see good quality photos of her young face and her muuuuuch thinner upper lip. She definitely injected before pregnancy. It was distracting in Gone Girl. Looks very odd from the side/in profile.

  4. Emanym says:

I have moderately full lips, but when I was pregnant I got huge pregnancy lips. My face and body didn’t change that much, but my lips were ridiculous. So, I believe that her lips could be enlarged due to pregnancy.

    • Jess says:

Same here, I’ve always has big lips and people actually used to make fun of me when I was younger. When I was pregnant they got HUGE. These days a lot of younger girls will ask if my lips are real and say how they love them, it’s just funny to me how things change. I have to show pics from high school to prove I don’t get injections!

  5. Megs283 says:

Some people get all the luck 😂

  6. Lunasf17 says:

They don’t look natural to me. Having your top lip way bigger than the bottom seems like a clear sign that she uses injections IMO but maybe it’s a weird pregnancy thing. Her face looks so much different than when she was a bit younger (especially the lips) so I think she is clearly lying about it. Tons of celebs tend to keep using injections while pregnant (or maybe they last through the pregnancy?). I’m not buying that it’s natural!

  7. OriginalLala says:

My friend uses fillers and before she became pregnant she spoke to her derm and they planned out an injection schedule so her fillers would last as long as possible while she was pregnant. She did a bunch of extra fillers before she became pregnant and looked jacked until well into her pregnancy. At first I thought it was nuts but apparently it’s a thing.

  8. jferber says:

I just wonder if she and her rich husband have started paying rent on their luxury apartment? I remember that for some reason, the husband refused to do so (because he could get away with it)?

  9. Zia says:

BS. She DEFINITELY had lip injections before her pregnancy. I saw her at LAX a few years ago and her profile was pure duckface. SO unnatural. I mean they must have been fresh because they looked ridiculous. She’s so full of it. It’s sad she cant admit it. But hey, maybe she’s always told her man (and others) they’re real and she’s one of those women that just cant deal with coming clean. Whatever Emily. LOL

  10. BusyLizzy says:

I have lip injections and my derm told me they can last up to 12 months so yeah she could have definitely gotten them before her pregnancy.

I tend to agree with fellow posters that, whilst she did have full lips naturally, she probably got them enhanced. I wish celebrities would just stop lying about surgeries / injections and just admit it. I have not had a coming out “I had my lips done” party (mainly because I have limited social interactions because of COVID) but if someone asks me if I had my lips done, I gladly tell them the truth.

  11. Le4Frimaire says:

It’s been a while but I did not swell attractively. I had pregnancy feet. My feet looked like two zeppelins and was reduced to wearing Birkenstock’s and sneakers by the end. Surprisingly my lips remained disappointingly unchanged, not even a slight puff. She looks puffy but also like she wears a lot of gloss which exaggerates her lips. I don’t really get the hype about her, and the strong reactions to her looks. She’s pretty, great figure ,a bit morose and brooding. I really liked her essay in NY Mag but feel she views herself in some ways as performance art.

  12. Abby says:

Lies. Your nose might grow, and you might look like you have a case of carb face, but your lips aren’t suddenly going to be trendily huge.

    • GuestwithCat says:

No it can happen. I looked like Angelina Jolie when I was pregnant. I had an incredible mane of gorgeous brown hair and Bratz doll lips and a beautiful bosom. Just the year prior I looked like ugly on a stick, which was my normal state of existence. I’m biracial and multi ethnic so I didn’t have thin facial features to begin with. But everything got voluptuous from the pregnancy.

That being said, who knows with these celebrities?

At first glance I thought this was Ana de Armas

  13. Missy says:

Yeah idk my lips got huge during my pregnancy. So did the rest of my body but I do remember my lips really stood out as far as facial puffiness

  14. CruzMom says:

I did not get swollen lips during pregnancy, but I know a lot of people who did. Usually people that had full lips to begin with. I believe her (as far as no injections during pregnancy). It’s very common.

  15. Joh says:

Is this her final 5 minutes?
Also , I know models often have blank expressions to allow us to place our emotions on them, but the main pic makes her look really smug and rather stupid,
    Blurred lines indeed.

  16. Lo says:

Dances in hyper misogynistic music video. Becomes “feminist”. Lollol

  17. Pea says:

Feminist? I don’t think so. Quite the opposite.
