Ed Westwick, star of Gossip Girl, has gotten himself some of the fugliest tattoos I’ve ever seen. On his left bicep, Ed got a large black feather – just one feather. I don’t really understand what the feather is supposed to reference – maybe Westwick has a feather fetish. Does he like to work the feather, or does he like the feather to be worked on him? Is the feather a reference to olden days, like Westwick misses the days of quill pens? Or is Westwick just an everyday feather-fancier? He wouldn’t be alone.
The second tattoo is on his right bicep – it shows a half-naked redhead with extremely perky breasts in some kind of cheap pinup-pose. Gee, that convinces me Ed! Now I totally buy that you’re straight, now that you have a half-naked woman on your arm! Honestly, I bought that Ed was straight before the tattoos, and now my gaydar doesn’t know what to think. It’s Ed’s British accent that throws me… I think he’s probably straight, but pretty smarmy about girls and sex. Maybe he hates women? I don’t know. But I know that he’ll totally regret these tattoos. The fug is hurting my eyes.

I didn’t think that Ed was gay. But the look he’s giving in the naked woman photo makes me question it. Why would he get such huge tattoos?
This brings up something I’ve always been curious about. Whether or not tattoos are your thing, people should know that there are some really amazing tattoo artists out there. Why is it that celebrities, who can actually afford good ink, always look like they got drunk and let their inbred cousin use the tattoo machine they bought on ebay?

What’s with all the feather hate? It’s not koi fish, or a skull and cross bones… so I can’t rank it as the most overdone or anything. I’m not crazy about the pin-up girl, but not because it’s a pin-up; I just like my pinups in a different style (more Mel Ramos, less Ed Hardy).
Why Ed??? Seriously, why do actors get these ridiculously huge tattoos! You don’t see model marring up their bodies. They know that their appearance is a huge part of their careers. I think Ed’s going to future lose roles because of these stupid tattoos!

At 15 I got an elephant tattooed on my ass and I still regret it. Just this year a I got well thought out latin phrase from an author that I adore – and it took me 3 years to finally get it inked.
No only is that feather hideous, but any artist I know would be embarrassed to claim that work as his own, especially on a celebrity.

If we’re gonna nit-pick on pinup tattoos, at least acknowledge that Ed Westwick’s tat (honesty, I have no f’ing clue who this guy is but I click on any link that says “tattoo”) is NOT a copy of Ed Hardy, but Sailor Jerry. Jerry’s the effin’ godfather of the pinup tattoo, and ought to be recognized as such!
I get the aesthetic of the Sailor Jerry Pin-Up, but that feather just looks gross. I don’t know, though. Maybe he was going for ugly and rudimentary.

@Iggles models don’t get tatoos because they signed a contract saying that they can’t have tattoos or certain piercings or even get pregnant. Some girls are having surgeries done so they would look less like a woman or they get breast/ butt/hips implants just to be in Victoria’s secret because otherwise they are too skinny.
unfortunately 90% of you already ran your mouths about what you think about his tattoos. first off, tattoos are personal ways of expressing yourself, and i doubt he’s concerned with whether or not the public will like his tattoos. they’re HIS tattoos, not yours, so get over it.
and just for your information, the feather tattoo most likely has something to do with the role he played in S Darko, which featured a feather as a very important piece of symbolism throughout the film. A feather is not solely a symbol in native american, or what some of you labeled as “tribal” (?! talk about an ignorant label).

I actually am a fan of tats…..but that feather is hideous. If he likes it great. If it symbolizes something to him wonderful. To me? It’s a big, giant, ugly feather on his arm. The pin up girl has a very poorly done face. It’s too amateur cartoonish for me. I am also an artist though and draw lifelike portraits so I could be a little be biased. I don’t know. Just a personal opinion and for the record, I have no clue who this dude is. I followed a news story. I don’t watch his show.
in reference to the quality of work done, did you look in the background of the pictures? the place doesnt look that great/clean so…maybe…i dunno…they just arent the best looking tats. and it’s not like he couldnt afford to go somewhere better…
