Dolly Parton is a goddess full stop. Dolly is also timeless and trendsetting. Not only did Dolly help get one of the COVID vaccines (Moderna) on the streets (she donated $1 million to its research and development) she has now may started a fashion trend for those getting vaccinated. After posting a video of getting vaccinated, Dolly’s “vaccine shirts” previously known as “cold shoulder shirts” went viral. Cold shoulder tops were very popular back in spring/summer 2019. The other thing that I love about the “vaccine shirt” is it is sexy and it is a signal if you are single, that you are ready to mingle (if the other person has been tested and vaccinated of course). Vaccine shirts also look good on everyone no matter the age or size. You can wear vaccine shirts with jeans, leggings, skirts and shorts. And of course vaccine shirts serve a more practical purpose, they make it easier to get vaccinated without having to roll up your sleeve (look I’ve gotten lazier the last year). I have a shirt like that, same blue color but different style and I love it. I will wear it when I get my vaccine.
I like that last one. My initial reaction was to think, “Oh, I am way too busty for a shirt like that” but then I thought: “Hold on, now. I’m not quite Dolly Parton level of chestiness, so if she can pull it off, so can I!”
Still, I’m not sure if I’d be self conscious or not. Hm. Must ponder. I do like the pink shirt, though I’d change the color. Maybe a nice black one like that, or a dark grey. Hm.
Yesterday, as I was getting ready to go and get my first Pfizer shot, I joked with my friend that it was a pity I didn’t have a cold shoulder shirt. Just a short sleeved sweater for me.
The woman behind me queuing for our vaccines had one of these tops on! I complimented her smarts and she referenced dressing for her shot like Dolly. I’m so tickled that Dolly is an influencer.

Love everything Dolly has done – contributed money, and her fame, and normalized getting the vaccine. She’s a good woman. Don’t love the shirt though. Cold shoulders, dropped shoulders, raglan sleeves — I hate that it’s so hard to find a shirt or sweater with regular shoulders these days!
This makes me laugh. I give Covid vaccines and I can tell you that I really appreciate these tops! I’ve had a few ladies wear them and it is super convenient. I hate seeing women stretching out their tops to try and pull them down.
My gosh, Dolly is a global treasure.
I love Dolly, but I don’t know about these shirts looking good on every body type. I have very narrow shoulders, so it just accentuates that and makes my posture look even worse.
