That sucks about Rachel Bilson’s pic. People who demand a perfectly curated internet profile probably have some kind of internal insecurities that they are still dealing with. Most of us have a dorky grade school photo. I looked up the photo and its not like Rachel looks like a supermodel and he looks awful. They both just look like kids.

    • Ellie says:

I looked it up too and agree here. Feels like this has turned into a Streisand effect because would people have really cared about this photo that much if he just let it go?

    • Layla Beans says:

If John Oliver can release that hilarious high school photo and still have a career, so can precious Rami Malek.

    • Hannah Young says:

I disagree and I’m surprised that Rachel Bilson talked about it, even after taking the photo down. First of all, it’s fine that she doesn’t take herself seriously but that doesn’t mean she gets to decide that for someone else in the picture. Secondly, it’s basic curtesy to ask before sharing a picture of someone else in the public forum. They may have been close in HS but obviously not anymore. Why didn’t she she first say, “hi, how are you, do you remember this picture,” privately first? And thirdly, as an artist, she of all people should know how important an image is, and I’m not just talking legally.

      • A reader says:

Yep, this. Nobody should be paying photos of other people to socials without consent.

I’m not on Facebook and my friends know not to put my picture there.

      • agnes says:

        Thank you!
And then she talks about it later publicly on a podcast?

I can spot the rude person here, and It’s the one spreading this story.

      • escondista says:

Do you own the rights to every photo taken of you in your life? Asking seriously here. I am not famous, and i understand that there is a distinction here between myself and Rami, but there are lots of group high school photos with me and friends which aren’t flattering to me. My high school yearbook has plenty – do i own the right to those photos because I am in the shot?

I didn’t want to deal with this in my professional life so i left personal social media. I got the impression that Rachel shared the story because, like me, she didn’t know the rules and was embarrassed for herself not because she thought Rami was mean.

      • detritus says:

I totally agree, Hannah. They may have been close but they aren’t now, and she used his photo to get his attention and more attention for her. One that’s flattering for her and not flattering to him.

It strikes of clout chasing and something petty behind the scenes. #dontforgetthelittlepeople? And
the comments about not taking yourself seriously because she doesn’t take herself seriously are super judgey.

      • Ellie says:

@Escondista – the quick answer is no, you down own a photo just because you are depicted in it. In the US, the photographer would own the copyright (not sure of other countries). And generally speaking, if you can see it from a public space like a street, you have the right to photograph without the consent of everyone in the photo – this is the rule we followed while I was a journalist, though there are sensitivities that should be weighed like photographing a person experiencing homelessness without their consent. Different rules can apply in spaces that aren’t public, which is how Beyoncé is able to only have certain concert photos circulated.

I think he made a bigger deal of this by asking her to take it down in the matter that he did. I also think she’s seeking headlines by publicizing it. No winners here. I liked them both more before I read this, but it inspired interesting discussion.

It would be dumb for Gigi to marry Zayn, IMO. She needs to protect her assets.

    • whatWHAT? says:

is this sarcasm? because I’d bet that Malik is worth more than Hadid.

ok, just checked. various websites put his net worth at $65-75 million and hers at $25-30 million.

      • Tiffany says:

On top of what she will receive once her father passes.

      • whatWHAT? says:

but who’s to say she’ll get anything?

she may get a token amount like Tori Spelling and she may get nothing, like Bill Gates said he was doing with his fortune. all going to charity.

to boot, her dad filed for bankruptcy in 2019 and is allegedly worth “only” $5mil, down from $150 mil. She’s currently got a higher net worth than her father does.

    • pottymouth pup says:

      that’s what a pre-nup is for

  3. Humbugged says:

Kendall Jenner had TWO different stalkers after her this weekend .First guy wanted to kill her and then himself and No 2 broke into her house and had time to get naked and take a dip in her pool

  4. nicegirl says:

Rami Malek’s being a bit too precious lol Go Rachel

  5. Lex says:

Zayn and Gigi news- I mean, it really wasn’t blown up on Twitter like the article wants you to believe. Of course they both have their fans so people will always talk, but neither of them are at their height of popularity anymore. I didn’t see any news about this until now, so I feel like they’re trying to hype this up more than what it was.

  6. agnes says:

‘I would really appreciate if you take that down. I’m a really private person.’ Malik asked Bilson to take down that picture quite politely actually. I can’t see any rudeness in his request.
Dragging this in public a couple of years later – like she did by talking about it – now that really isn’t a picture of politeness.

    But that’s just me.

    • ME says:

Honestly, I agree with him. I don’t think you should be allowed to put up pics on your social media of OTHER people unless you have their consent.

    • Lory says:

Right! I agree. His star was rising and there was buzz for award season and she posted this pic to raise her own profile.

    • Case says:

I agree. I like Rachel but I think the problem here is her publicizing this interaction on a podcast, not him kindly asking she remove it. He he wanted it to stay private, why is she bringing it up again?

  7. Anners says:

That write up of 27 Dresses makes me feel better about secretly loving it. Judy Greer is the bomb and Malin Ackerman will always be trash because Tess is trash.

    • LarkspurLM says:

It’s such a fun movie! I just watched it for maybe (?) the first time a few weeks ago (thanks HBO) and enjoyed it. I agree, it does hold up well.

    • Midge says:

Tess really is just the bitch who cut up her mother’s wedding dress.

    • The Recluse says:

That moment when Tess reveals that she utterly destroyed their mother’s vintage wedding dress was just so villainous because it revealed what a selfish narcissist she was. Malin did a great job playing that awful woman.
Mom and I love to watch the closet sequence, especially the brief tug of war that happens over the closet doors. Good stuff.
This is one of those rare Rom-Coms that I can tolerate because I totally get the one sister’s anguish of watching the man she’s been secretly in love with walking right past her to someone else and then that someone else being such a false personality as well as her sister.

      • Ann says:

I really enjoyed the movie and man did I hate Tess. It kind of bugged me that they even tried to redeem her in the end. She was so self-absorbed and clueless to the feelings of the sister who helped raise her, so insufferably vain and smug, watching her preen around in that dress made me want to punch a wall. And she lied her way to a man’s heart, which is just gross. Jane did her a favor with that slide show….imagine what would have happened when George caught her with a double-fisting cheeseburgers at 2 AM a week after the wedding?!

  8. Evenstar says:

Any chance of a post about the “Tom Hiddleston as a hot vicar” set photos? Asking for a friend….👀

  9. lascivious chicken says:

Pat Sajak is the worst! He’s rude and pervy.

  10. Jayna says:

He is very thin now and was chubby back then. No one gets to decide he is wrong for feeling how he does or how he did about himself back then. Rachel really seemed to relish going on about it, all of the extra shade. Someone posted that she had put under the photo something about, “Don’t forget the little people.”

I’m beginning to wonder if she really didn’t see his DM until a week later. She’s acting a little vindictive.

  11. SpankyB says:

I like the Gucci watch, not the color though. Olive green would look good.

  12. emmy says:

I don’t know why Rami Malek thought THAT pic was unflattering when he had no issue hamming it up in Bohemian Rhapsody. Poor Freddie was probaby laughing his ass off from the beyond, there were some awful looks and teeth involved. And let’s be real, he wanted it taken down because yes, it was unflattering. He doesn’t strike me as someone who has a sense of humor about himself. I can’t forgive anyone who was involved in that insulting and homophobic film, so go Rachel.

  13. Cws says:

Rachel was rude to Rami, not the other way around. Looks like they hadn’t spoken for 20 years, then she posts an unflattering photo, makes fun of his necklace and then is sad he doesn’t engage with her besides asking her to take it. Why interact with someone who points and laughs at a photo of you? She kept saying she doesn’t take herself seriously but it wasn’t an unfortunate photo of her. She had no empathy for his situation or goals

    • Kebbie says:

Exactly. She can laugh at herself when it’s a great photo of her? Please. Although it makes sense that she doesn’t “take herself seriously” because she doesn’t have a serious career like he does.

I honestly liked her before I read this whole story. Hart of Dixie was mindless fun. But her dragging him publicly like this? She’s a piece of work.

I think she was jealous of him surpassing her in the Hollywood hierarchy and she wanted to knock him down a peg. She’s clearly still not over it to be bringing it up years later. But it is funny that her only method of doing so is on a podcast lol
