Pathetic Piers Morgan whines about ‘free speech’ in a heavily edited Fox News interview

Congressmen speak with journalists - Washington

I’m not one of those brave souls who can sit and watch Fox News and fact-check it online. I’m not Aaron Rupar, Daniel Dale or any of those brilliant journalists. I avoid Fox News like the plague, and I realized last night that I didn’t even know where the Fox News channel was located on my programming. I found it and I managed to watch all of Tucker Carlson’s “interview” with Piers Morgan, at least the heavily edited portions which appeared in the last half of Carlson’s show. The editing was pretty obvious, and it was clear that Carlson’s producers didn’t want to give Piers an open mic to say whatever he wanted. Which is hilarious because the whole raison d’etre of this mess was “freedom of speech” and “freedom of thought.” Piers literally went on Fox News to talk about the importance of free speech (only for him) and they heavily edited his statements. *chef’s kiss*

First off, Piers completely misrepresented the circumstances around his firing from ITV and Good Morning Britain. According to Piers, he was fired or forced to quit because he, a humble journalist, simply questioned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s claims in the Oprah interview, especially their claims that the royal family and British media are racist. The truth is, it was one specific tantrum which ended Piers’ ITV career. He didn’t “believe” Meghan was suicidal, or that her mental health suffered to a huge degree because of the relentless racist attacks she faced. There were public health and mental health experts shocked with Piers’ words at the time, and those experts were coming out to speak on why Piers’ words were so dangerous. That was why Meghan contacted the ITV chief to complain, and it was why Meghan filed a complaint with Ofcom.

In general, though, this interview was just two white guys whining about how they have “the right” to say whatever they want. Which is true, actually. No one is stopping Piers Morgan from saying whatever he wants. Meghan isn’t stopping him, Harry isn’t stopping him, Tucker isn’t stopping him (Tucker’s just heavily editing him). Piers just doesn’t have the right to say what he wants on whatever platform he chooses, and he doesn’t have the right to face zero consequences for his words. He can call Meghan a liar – he just can’t do it on ITV. He can smear Meghan however he wants in the pages of the Daily Mail, but she’ll just f–king sue them again. That’s what irritates him – the consequences. Piers is trying to turn his unhinged stalking of a Black woman into a free speech issue, which grossly mischaracterizes the past four years of abuse he’s heaped on Meghan. He argues that he has the right to “his story.” Yes. He does. So do Meghan and Harry.

Piers also “demanded” that Harry and Meghan name the racists in the Windsor klan. That’s a play I really don’t get. Does Piers think he’s calling a bluff? He’s not.

He complains about being silenced but I’ve been hearing from him non-stop. All these conservative men always get so hurt when they face any criticism. Criticism does NOT equal being silenced. I really wish he would go away.

    • Cecilia says:

Freedom of speech does not equal freedom on consequences and these men need to realize that when they make claims under the mantra of free speech others are allowed to disagree with them under that exact same mantra. But instead they start throwing a hissy fit and cry about being silenced, while telling others to shut up. Do you see the irony here?

    • BearcatLawyer says:

When I see bitter white men tears because they are suffering the direct and predictable consequences of their crappy behaviour, I always feel like retorting, “Who’s the snowflake now?!?”

    • Killfanora says:

Dear God I wish he WAS silenced! If only for a day….

    • Maida says:

Nothing like going on a multibillion dollar network and bloviating for an hour about being “silenced.”

    • Liz version 700 says:

If he is silenced why is his constant ranting still giving me a headache?

    • Otaku fairy says:

This. It’s not just the males of his demographics though. A lot of his female counterparts pretend that being given backtalk or attitude when they spew conservative garbage and language that incites violence against a group of people is a violation of their rights as well.

  2. Darla says:

Two butt faces in a farting contest.

    • My Two Cents says:

Piers’ triple chin is so disgusting i couldn’t watch it

      • Madelaine says:

It was indeed painful to watch and to listen to, especially when he claims that it is Meghan’s marrying into the royal family that landed her a hundred-million-dollar contract. Really, piggy? When did Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, or Zahra Philips last land such a juicy contract just for being royals? Who was ever even interested in proposing Prince Henry any such contract in the entertainment industry or elsewhere before he was lucky enough to marry Meghan Markle?

The royal family is so overrated, outdated, and uncharismatic that the only thing it has been able to generate over the years is scandal, scandal, plus… outrage. So sorry to break it to the Pierce-Morgan-versus-Fierce-Meghan cry-baby patrol: it is Meghan’s subtle intelligence, articulateness, grace and philanthropic endeavors that shed a positive light on the RF and landed her the millions, not the other way round. That Pierce Morgan dunce is conveniently rewriting the full narrative so that it fits and fuels his Meghan-stalking obsession which he conveniently rebrands freedom of speech: bold and bitchy as can be. How comes Pierce whatever has been free to puke his venom at her for three years but suddenly enters victimization mode when it comes to face the consequences?

      • Aie says:

If Meghan got the contract for being herself, as you say, why didn’t she get these contracts before she married Harry.

      • Bex says:

If Meghan got the contract for marrying in, why didn’t the others who married in have the same contract? Why didn’t Fergie get a contract like that? Why didn’t Peter, the Queen’s eldest grandson get a contract like that, instead of hocking milk in China? Why didn’t Eugenie get a contract for her human trafficking podcast? Why didn’t William get a Netflix deal for his environmentalist documentary that ended up going to ITV (despite their best efforts)??

You people can’t have it both ways. You can’t claim the connection to that family made that deal happen, and then ignore how all the others could not, and more importantly, HAVE NOT, make the same deal.

      • Mac says:

They got the contracts because Netflix and Spotify are willing to take risks. H+M’s decision to leave the BRF and the UK makes them very interesting to Americans who prioritize living your best life over a stiff upper lip. People are interested in what they have to say and Netflix and Spotify are giving them a platform to say it.

      • Eve says:

I doubt the others thst you have mentioned are seeking out these deals. I don’t think they were offered the amount claimed and people are only interested if they spill gossip.

      • equality says:

@Eve Really? There were a lot of people listening to their podcast and now wanting more and it wasn’t gossip. I see a lot of interest in the upcoming Invictus documentary for Netflix and it isn’t royal gossip. Believe it or not there are people who would like to see more inspiring type programs being produced. And not everybody is that fascinated with what the royals do because none of it is surprising anymore given their past behavior.

      • BABSORIG says:

@Eve and @AIE, yes Willileaks tried to get a deal with Netflix and failed. Look you can argue till you blue in the face but one thing you can’t produce is evidence that Netflix and Spotify stuck deals with the Sussexes because Meghan married into the BRF. Personally, I believe Harry and Meghan union is what makes them THE brand that is much sought after. Individually, they each can’t be THE brand. Meghan’s scandal free and philanthropic life pre Harry, her grace and resilience during this whole ordeal since she married Harry, a time when she’s been abused, smeared and bludgeoned relentlessly, her smartness, charisma, kindness towards anyone and everyone despite everything and her love for Harry that is much stronger than anything that’s been thrown at her is what made Meghan THE part of brand that people can’t get enough of. Harry’s love for his little family above anything else, his kindness, his selflessness and love for people in general, his love for the military, his tireless devotion to charity work and his being a really stand-up good guy is what makes him THE brand that lots of people can’t get enough of. If they both had been married and then turned out like William and Kate, regardless of being BRF members., no one wouldbe interested at all. So, no being members of the BRF did not make the Sussex brand any Netflix deals. Its who they are that got them where they are. That and a lot of God’s blessings.

    • Liz version 700 says:

      This!!!!

  3. Bunny says:

He’s so whingy. He walked out and quit when his co-worker dared challenge his idiocy.

He’ll only talk to hosts who play along. He’s obsessed with Meghan, and she refuses to give him the time of day.

Piers Morgan is the epitome of a fragile male ego.

  4. Case says:

These people think free speech just applies anywhere and everywhere. I couldn’t have an outburst at work and keep my job because of “free speech” when it’s on company time or damaging to the company. I couldn’t post offensive things to social media, be warned about it, and expect to keep my job a la Gina Carano either. They’re so stupid.

  5. LaraW” says:

What on earth is going on with that background? Are they literally doing a “spacious skies with amber waves of grain / with purple mountains majesty above the fruited plain”?

Why?????? I don’t know what about this is bothering me, but it is. Someone chose that damn background thinking it would soften his image or something— or maybe just appeal to the maga and say “this british dude standing before fields of wheat is just like you!”

    • cassandra says:

Piers Morgan flew to Montana just to FaceTime Tucker Carlson!

Yeah I don’t get it either haha

    • elle says:

This is bugging me, too, because it looks like where I live, and he ain’t from around here.

    • Gabby says:

To me, the background is the best part. It’s the only non-shit-spewing thing on the screen. Our beautiful Rocky Mountain West.

  6. Becks1 says:

I refuse to even watch a clip of it, but if anyone wants to see Piers getting dragged, please go to David Simon’s (creator of the Wire) twitter. They got into it a few months ago (over Meghan and the royals, David’s thing was that he didnt really care about the royals but thought Piers was unhinged, lol) and now they’re back at it and its quite fun bc David has no effs to give, ha.

Anyway, the whole “Free speech” thing is so annoying to me. Free speech doesnt mean you get to have a platform. I have never been on Fox News or CNN or iTV or any such channel to give my opinion. Does that mean my rights are being infringed? Of course not.

    • Cecilia says:

Free speech doesn’t mean you can just abuse people whenever you feel like it. And i saw that dragging. It was *chefs kiss*

    • Izzy says:

HOLY FORKBALLS. I just went over to Twitter to check it out and.., that is one glorious dragging. David Simon is the Twero we need right now.

    • Golly Gee says:

Deadline wrote an article about the Twitter war. Here is Simon‘s first volley before the show even aired:
“ In an ocean of talking-head sewage, what are the chances that the two most pouty and puckered assholes in broadcast television would ever swim through the brown, find each other, and discuss the events of the day?”

  7. ABritGuest says:

Yawn. He’s such a clout chasing stalker. He chose to walk off & quit rather than apologise for compromising ITV’s mental health campaign. Imagine complaining about being cancelled during a tv interview & after your own newspaper column outlining your ‘ordeal’ . David Simon (writer for the Wire) Twitter dragging of him was thing of beauty though.

The media clearly know at least one of the people who expressed concerns about colour of Harry’s children. They’ve been talking about pre wedding conversation between William & Harry that made Harry go mental for years whilst pretending it’s just cos Will told Harry to slow down.

Piers also had satirical column that Harry should have married a dim conservative blonde like Will told him to and before Oprah interview called on Harry to have compassion on his brother. Fact that Will seems to feel attacked by the interview & has briefed about wanting to respond to it, even though he was barely mentioned in it, is also telling.

    • Otaku fairy says:

Yeah, and of course he doesn’t believe Meghan, because believing her would come too close to admitting that he’s complicit. Racists and misogynists, much like their homophobic and transphobic counterparts, are often in denial about the harm caused by their own behavior. On society in general, and on the mental health of their individual targets. Many will deny any evidence of that harm pointed out to them. They will find ways to make that harm the fault of their targets, or twist any harm into proof of how unfit, dangerous, or whatever else those people are in the first place.

  8. JaneDoe says:

So many people (like Piers and Sharon Osbourne) COMPLETELY misunderstand what free speech means. Free speech merely means that you can say what you want without going to jail. That is IT. It does not guarantee that you’ll keep your job if you say effed up shit, it does not guarantee people will still like you if you say effed up shit……ALL it guarantees is that you will not get locked up for saying effed up shit. And there ARE countries in the world today that WILL put you in jail for speaking your mind (China, North Korea), so that freedom is something people must never take for granted……

    • Otaku fairy says:

Yep. Their ‘children starving in africa’ fallacy never seems to apply to them when playing boy who cried first ammendment violation- they always have some version of it ready for others. “This is a pandemic!” “There are single parents working two low-paying jobs!” “Drag that whiny little bitch off to Pakistan, that’ll give her something to cry about!” Why is the onus never on people dropping rightwing talking points to be grateful for things not being done to them?

    • Lady D says:

I thought free speech means the government does not have the right to meet in secret and pass laws without your knowledge? Free speech also means the people have the right to gather and listen to speakers without gestapo-like interference, doesn’t it?
I don’t think it means you can say whatever you want without facing jail as a consequence. I could walk past a playground and start screaming that a guy standing there is a pedophile and a monster who harms children. Do you think there won’t be jail in my future? Screaming racist remarks at someone should be allowed under free speech, but it ain’t. You go to jail for saying those things too.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Lady D, I find all of the controversy regarding free speech a chance for the Republicans (and Tories?) to put out disinformation. In the US, we are guaranteed freedom of speech under the constitution–the GOVERNMENT cannot prevent us from our opinions/speech. Think about protests, and everything included in them. They can’t stop us from having political opinions and expressing them. And it goes on. What it DOES NOT MEAN is that people can print in the media, state on TV anything they want to without consequence. The employer is a PRIVATE company–guess what? They can limit your speech. ITV had no choice but to boot P*ss Morgan or it would be a seriously negative hit to their reputation AND have the mental health program they are working with pull out and run, screaming from them. I have no idea what freedom of speech is in the UK. I find it interesting that Faux News edited P*ss M–wow, he must have really gone off on rant and included stuff that even Faux wouldn’t allow. Makes you wonder. Do you think that p*ss will accuse Faux of cancel culture?

  9. Joanna says:

Ok i am white. I am so sick and tired of listening to white people especially white men, complain about how persecuted they are. Gtfoh. You have it better than the majority of the population. I just wanna tell them to stfu.

On a separate rant, I am sick of people telling me what they think about my weight and my hair. This guy that works with my hairdresser was telling me I lost weight. Are you working out? No not really. Did you stop drinking? No, not really. I told him my weight goes up and down. Wtf business is it of his? My mom too tells me if my weight has gone up or down. Do y’all think I don’t have a mirror or a scale? Oh and my mom tells me “oh, you went blonde. You look so different, I like your hair better auburn.” Love. You mom, but and? Seriously? Why does everyone think their opinion is so important to me?

Rant over, everyone have a nice day!

  10. Elizabeth says:

This is absurd. Free speech doesn’t mean you can’t be fired from a job (or allowed to quit). Nor does it mean you’re immune to complaints or criticism.

It is so bizarre to hear extremely rich old white men with giant media platforms still trying to paint themselves as victims. And journalists? Call me when you realize Andrew is RIGHT THERE.

  11. aquarius64 says:

No responses from the Sussexes, Oprah, CNN or CBS on this mess. They are paying him dust. Saw the takedown from David Simon; loved it. Pus is a joke and US serious media knows and Fox’s editing proves it.

    • L4frimaire says:

The best part about Simons takedown was him basically saying that no one will hire Piers in US after how he screwed up on CNN.

  12. Cecilia says:

When you’re such a shit person even fox news feels the need to edit you.

  13. Lauren says:

He thinks that freedom of speech protects you from being called out on your bullsht. Surprise! It doesn’t. If you can dish it, you have to also take it without screaming about wokeness and cancel culture.

  14. Angel says:

This man is deranged, Meghan needs a restraining order against him.

  15. Ariel says:

You should get hazard pay for watching that crap.

    • LaraW" says:

FB settled with content moderators who sued because they had PTSD after having to wade all day every day through the shittiest thoughts humanity had to offer. Kaiser should definitely get hazard pay. We can give her.. hazard gratitude? Donate extra hours to watch tennis!

  16. BlueSky says:

He’s a stalker who used his platform to “punish” her for some imagined slight. He met her once and clearly was attracted to her. My guess is he was inappropriate or sent her a message that made her uncomfortable and she stopped speaking to him. Men like him think they are entitled to your time and attention and he can’t stand that a beautiful woman wanted nothing more to do with him. I don’t want to hear anything about women being the sensitive ones. Is he still married? I guess his wife is okay with him obsessing over another woman. I can’t imagine as a husband having to sit back and watch another man being obsessed with your wife.

    • Deering24 says:

Yeah, what is the deal with his wife? He’s disgusting enough, but his stalking Meghan should have had wife in divorce court.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Morgan’s obsession with Meghan is deranged.

I wonder how many times his wife has thought there are three people in their marriage and knowing Meghan doesn’t want anything to do with him.

    • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

His wife seems to be obsessed with Harry in the same way.

They probably have wigs and costumes.

    • Gabby says:

I think his wife has her own thing going on. I sense a girl-team vibe from her. Even if she didn’t start out that way, being married to that obnoxious prick would turn any woman.

  17. Ginger says:

He believes in freedom of speech but will block anyone on twitter for calling him out. He apparently got dragged by a bunch of blue checks on Twitter after his interview. He is trying to make it again in the US. No one here wants him.

  18. L84Tea says:

He’s just mad that after 4 years of ranting and raving, Meghan STILL has not acknowledged him once.

  19. Nev says:

    SIT DOWN TRICK

  20. Maliksmama says:

The BRF has made it very clear they’re not going to have media pull back on the abuse It’s doling out to H&M. It’s gotten worse. They left the continent to give the UK branch what they wanted and it’s still not enough.

I understand Harry doesn’t want to go nuclear on his family while Elizabeth’s alive. But if he wants the rota and British media to pull back, tripping them up isn’t an option. He’s going to have to cripple the BRF. Elizabeth may live another five years. He can’t expect Meghan to put up with this mess indefinitely. Harry can’t keep straddling the fence.

  21. Mich says:

First off, free speech laws are not the same in the UK as they are in America. The UK also has various ‘hate speech’ laws “which makes it an offence for a person to use “threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour that causes, or is likely to cause, another person harassment, alarm or distress”.

  22. Phoenix says:

In my country we have two words for freedom. One is the meaning we all know, but the other is to act free but without taking any responsibility about it. And we use it in a negative meaning. To be free also means that you will be able to act with responsibility, that you won’t use your freedom against yourself or others. Being free to do whatever you want, doesn’t mean that you should do whatever the hell you want.
Piers, we see through you, you can’t name your obsessive and maniacal hatrage “freedom of speech”, because it’s not.
    Is Piers finally canceled???

  23. JT says:

Is it just me, or does he seem a little deflated? Going by yesterday’s story I was expecting more fire. I know the segment was probably heavily edited, but it was as inflammatory as it could’ve been. Hell, I think his last appearance on ITV was worse than this. I haven’t watched any other segment of his so some of you may know how he normally is.

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

Not just you. Piers seemed…unwell to me. I actually wondered if part of why they had to edit the interview so much was because he was intoxicated or something.

      • FicklePickle says:

I’m sittin’ over here hopin’ he’s been getting some unfavorable responses to his job applications. He’s a major liability for any employer, is the potential for lawsuits now more expensive than he’s worth?

I just want to cackle thinking about it.

  24. equality says:

The media supposedly knew that Meghan was having problems. I wonder if they didn’t know about the suicidal thoughts also. Why would whomever leaked hold back? They don’t hold back on anything else. ITV was probably worried that Meghan had enough proof and maybe even proof of media knowledge to bring a lawsuit. And in what way is anything to do with H&M “Piers’ story” that he has a right to tell?

    • Kristin says:

That’s exactly it, the fear of a lawsuit. Meghan could have successfully sued their pants off if they published private health information leaked directly from the palace. And that’s the ONLY reason they didn’t publish the story. They didn’t give a damn about Meghan and her mental health, or about their own self interests.

  25. FC says:

Free speech goes both ways, as*hole.

Also “fake Duchess from LA” — lol don’t they realize when they call her a fake Duchess they are undermining the status of the entire BRF.

  26. Lowrider says:

Piss is without a doubt a narcissist. His behaviour is disturbing and abusive.

He is a perfect example of an attention seeker.

  27. Amy Bee says:

Yeah whatever, Piers. I’m not sure what the objective was by going on Tucker Carlson. Tucker’s not mainstream. Maybe he was auditioning for Rupert Murdoch.

  28. J ferber says:

These “free speech” white guys are the same ones trying to suppress the vote in America. Isn’t the right to vote also a free speech and silencing issue? Their deal is they get free speech and the right to vote while smothering the rights of others.

    • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

There’s a hell of a lot wrong in the world that can be attributed to entitled white men throwing a collective tantrum over having to learn to share.

  29. Sofia says:

“My freeeeeee speeeeeeeeeech!” cried the man giving an interview while still having his twitter account where he can say anything. He so desperately wants Meghan to acknowledge him and the one time she did, it led to him being fired. Hence why I hope she continues to ignore that man.

  30. Rapunzel says:

As usual, Piers needs a rabies shot because he is foaming at the mouth insane. The nerve of him calling her “a,delusional duchess on the make” and insisting her interview statements have been proven lies and exaggeration. Spoiler alert: they have not. In fact, the more response we hear, the more the entire interview is being confirmed by the BRF and BM.

    • FicklePickle says:

Alas, once symptoms present themselves the case is already terminal. I am so glad ITV finally put the dog down.

  31. Liz version 700 says:

There is such a vibe from him that projects him as the plantation owner and this black woman should be doing his bidding. It is a creepy level of stalking. He is such a miserable human

  32. Feebee says:

First of all Kaiser, thank you for your service. I flicked over to Carlson and hit during an ad break. I lasted two ads before getting nervous and changed the channel. It’s a pretty new tv and I didn’t want anything to happen to it.

There’s not much new to say about what a horrible guy Piers is. His behavior is in the realm of stalking but like the former guy he seems to think that if he does it out in the open it’s okay. It’s not okay but there’s not much to be done about it.

    • LaraW" says:

Ahaha I love this: “It’s a pretty new tv and I didn’t want anything to happen to it.”

Good job, Feebee! Keep away the bad juju!

  33. AmyB says:

This guy is a FUCKING idiot! Just as Kaiser pointed out, YES we have free speech. HOWEVER, there are consequences to certain speech!! If you verbally attack someone, you may end up in court with a defamation lawsuit. If you run into a crowded movie theater and yell fire, you are going to be fucked LMAO!!! Yes, we can say whatever we want, but there are dire consequences to saying certain things!! And Piers Morgan going off on his creepy ass obsession on Megan Markle on TV, most certainly deserved consequences. If he doesn’t understand that, he truly is a moron!!

  34. L4frimaire says:

I didn’t watch it because I don’t watch Fox but it seems a lot of people who did basically were saying he is using media to stalk and verbally abuse Meghan. In what ways was it edited? At a certain point, this will get really old because this is all Morgan has to offer at this point. If this was his audition, it seems it didn’t land the way he expected. I don’t care.

    • Sid says:

I had zero interest in watching and didn’t, but from what I’m seeing the basic response is that this interview went over like a lead balloon, Tucker Clownson seemed uninterested, and Piers ended up being dragged online by a lot of people from all corners. As I see it, these attacks on the Sussexes are not really working outside of the UK, except for a loud but small contingent in America whom most people would write off as kooks anyway.

  35. Tessa says:

There are Piers stans on social media who believe every word he says because they don’t like Meghan. Pathetic.

  36. Shannon says:

This guy is a disgrace. I won’t give him anymore oxygen,

  37. JRenee says:

Does he have anything else except criticism if the Sussexes? They are now his bread and butter apparently, lots of bread and butter. How pathetic that such obsessive hatred is so profitable
