The Duchess of Sussex filed a complaint against Piers Morgan this week

Biden takes the Oath of Office as the 46th President of the US

This is the most asinine addendum to the Piers Morgan crap. As we all know, Piers Morgan has been obsessed with the Duchess of Sussex for years. His obsession is dangerous and psychotic, and he has devoted hundreds of hours of his life to ranting about Meghan on-air on Good Morning Britain, and ranting in print on his Twitter and in the pages of the Daily Mail. He met her once, was attracted to her, and then he turned insanely toxic when she ghosted him. On Monday and Tuesday, Piers ranted for hours on GMB about Meghan, calling her a liar and every insulting, misogynistic, racist thing he could think of. The second someone called him out on his toxicity, Piers threw a tantrum and walked off the set. Hours later, he announced that he was leaving GMB, effective immediately. Now the British press is making it into some kind of story that Meghan called an ITV chief and complained about Piers this week.

Meghan Markle formally complained to ITV about Piers Morgan hours before the Good Morning Britain co-host quit – but denies it was fuelled by the journalist’s claims she was lying about being suicidal and the Royal Family being racist, it was revealed today.

The Duchess of Sussex claims she was not upset that Mr Morgan said he ‘didn’t believe a word she said’ in her Oprah interview the broadcaster paid CBS £1million to show – but was worried about how his comments could affect people attempting to deal with their own mental health problems, an insider told the Press Association.

Ms Markle is understood to have gone directly to ITV’s CEO Carolyn McCall, who said yesterday they were ‘dealing with’ Piers hours before he quit after reportedly refusing to apologise for his ‘honestly held opinions’.

The extraordinary twist came as Mr Morgan doubled down today after quitting GMB, calling Meghan’s incendiary claims to Oprah about the Royal Family ‘contemptible’ and declaring: ‘I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth’. Speaking outside his West London home Mr Morgan told reporters: ‘If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.’

The journalist, 55, branded Meghan ‘Princess Pinocchio’ after an interview where the Duchess said she was suicidal while five months pregnant and accused the Royal Family of racism. His views sparked more than 41,000 complaints made to Ofcom, fuelled by a social media campaign by his critics including several Labour MPs.

It is understood Mr Morgan had been asked to apologise for his remarks which had been criticised by mental health campaigners but had declined.

[From The Daily Mail]

Yeah, again, the press is desperate to make this sound like Meghan personally got Piers fired, or that she “can’t handle” being criticized. If she was as thin-skinned as Piers, she would have complained to ITV starting in 2018. It sounds like she only made an official complaint this week after Piers mocked people who struggle with mental health, people who are feeling suicidal and ask for help. And clearly, Meghan wasn’t the only one complaining. 41,000 complaints filed in something like a 24-hour period. ITV also asked/told Piers to apologize or tone it down and he refused. So he knew he was on notice and he continued to be a giant, racist, sexist sh-thead.

He didn’t leave he was fired. The head of ITV stated he was “asked to leave”. Which is a nice way of saying fired.

    • Seraphina says:

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH, that is interesting. Everything I read last night was that he quit. Ha. I guess he didn’t want or feel the need to apologize.

    • I figured he was told to resign or prepare to be fired which is often the “face saver” allowed for asses at his level. I love it that, ITV CEO indeed states publicly he was fired. My understanding though is he still keeps his job at ITV as host of some weekly show called (I think?), ‘Life Stories’.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Some 141K complaints were levied against him!

  2. Lauren says:

Sure 41 thousand complaints, but it’s Meghan’s fault.

    • Bibi says:

Let it be her fault this time. It’s time she gets the last word with 41,000 others behind her. He took the right decision to leave. Like I said everywhere on social media, the world is already a better place without him on this show.

  3. Ellie says:

HAHA diatribe of bilge. That’s a rich little bit of projection if I’ve ever seen one.

  4. Tom says:

I hope he gets the help he seems to desperately need.

    • Brit says:

Seriously. He went off the deep end because he didn’t get acknowledgement from his obsession. Either he was in love with her or he wanted to use her for opportunities that could help him advance his career or he is very fragile. He needs serious help.

      • HeyJude says:

Brit this is 1000% what I think.

This was romantically based for Piers. The way he was obsessed with her almost totally seemed sexually motivated to me from the start. He was not just a critic, he was fixated and way more intensely focused on her than any mere media detractor of Meghan. He had a personal and totally enthralling neurotic infatuation. He acted like a rejected lover. I believe he absolutely was enraged that when she first came to England for work (IIRC) and they met she didn’t want to sleep with him. And from that point on he became one of those men who had to destroy the woman that rejected them.

He absolutely needs fired from all his roles and in treatment for his sick behavior.

      • Laugh or Cry says:

He is a stalker, like protection order/jail time stalker. He saw her what once or twice and this is the outcome, he is a criminal. If this was anyone else, he would have a rap sheet by now.

    • Sequinedheart says:

I know men like this. Male chauvinists – they all need to get help but let me tell you, they never do because duh, they’re always right!
It made me sooooo happy to see this hideous idiot fired. Seriously, 2021 – things are looking up.

      • Nana says:

Like the guy in the pub who won’t leave you alone, calls you a lesbian for politely refusing his advances, then follows you out of the pub later…. Only she can’t get rid of him it seems. It’s time they sued him for everything he’s got and any future earnings made off abusing and vilifying her (he’s been living off her back for too long now).

      • Merricat says:

Restraining order. That’s how I’d go.

  5. Brit says:

And the only time she ever acknowledged him was a complaint. He wanted a reaction from her so badly. As his cohost said, the constant rants about this woman was obsessive and while it was good for ratings and views, I imagine they got lots of complaints and annoyances. A whole laughing stock now even if he gets hired somewhere else. That obsessive behavior will follow him for the rest of his life.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Notice how the little shit kept his mouth shut when the male host was criticizing him, but interrupted TF out of the two female guests of color. Fkn assholeracistmisogynistpig.

  6. Sarah says:

Of course he acts this way, including storming off the set. A direct result of having zero consequences for your toxic white man shit your entire life. Piers will be just fine, but for now I’m enjoying watching him be twist.

  7. B says:

Cheers and “bye” to Piers’ Mantrum. AbFab.

  8. Cee says:

Meghan’s tunnel vision might not be the best but she really is quite strategic and knows how to play her cards. Our true Queen’s Gambit, right here.

Piss Morgan had it coming and he deserves it. His obsession with Meghan has been toxic and quite frightening and he was left unchecked for too long. Him mocking suicide ideation, in the middle of a pandemic, was despicable and I hope he does more than lose his job. He needs to be brought to court for being dangerous to society.

  9. Myra says:

Her power. She came across as a bit naive during the interview, that I was momentarily scared that she and Harry are not prepared for the onslaught of what is to come. But I’m seriously impressed with her. She keeps on winning and thriving despite the obstacles in her way. Good for her. The one time she acknowledges Piers is when she ends him.

    • Rapunzel says:

“Tell Piers. I want him to know it was me”- Meghan

    • GrnieWnie says:

I must say. Americans do know how to litigate. Perhaps her British opponents underestimated her, here. Finally unleashed from that rotten institution, she is doing exactly what anyone would do in the US.

    • HeyJude says:

I think she let her guard down once thinking the royals were going to act like family first and protect her, and now she won’t make the same mistake again and will actually protect herself even more vigorously from now on.

Her and Harry both. They’re a pair of lions roaring back!

  10. Rapunzel says:

He WALKED OFF THE JOB IN THE MIDDLE OF A LIVE BROADCAST!! That alone should have been enough to get him fired.

  11. Lemons says:

Piers, no one likes you. Your colleagues made that clear on live television. They were looking for a way to boot you, and it finally happened. I’m SURE there are several HR complaints that have been filed against him over the years, but no one wanted to touch the “He’s expressing his OPINION.” crowd with a ten-foot pole.

But it is despicable to say that you don’t believe someone’s admission to suicidal ideation on television. What’s the point of that? Truly, saying it doesn’t gain you anything while doing the opposite makes you seem like a decent person. And boomers will go right along with him and may put their own loved ones at risk, dismissing them instead of getting the help they need.

    • Lizzie says:

His comment about not believing Meghan says everything about him and nothing about her.

    • Catwoman says:

He actually was mocking the complaints and basically said watch it fail again. Complain all you want, I’ll still be here. So it seems his arrogance is what got the best of him. To me he’s been nothing but one of those “nice guys” the ones women have to deal with if we dare reject them. I hope the daily mail fires him next. Take away all his platforms.

      • Rapunzel says:

Yeah…all this “he’s going elsewhere and planned this” is dumb. He wouldn’t go elsewhere as it would cost him money…nobody else would pay him ITV rates.
Not even Fox. He thought he was going to skate as usual. And had a ticking clock on his last post before he was fired… which some thought was countdown to Beresford being fired. I think he really thought Beresford would get the sack and he’d be okay. He was wrong.

      • notasugarhere says:

Talk is he has another job set up, had it set up before his diva act, with Murdoch. This was a deliberate act as a way for him to get out of his ITV contract.

    • Soupie says:

      @Lemons
Wait just a minute. What’s this about boomers? It’s people in general that are gonna do this, not just boomers. I’m a Boomer and I would never ever do what that bag of crap Piers Morgan says. He irks me to no end and it’s long past time he was gone. You know I like all of the people on this site but once in awhile some ageism creeps in here and it’s disturbing. You don’t see the Boomers here dissing Millennials so please let’s just dispense with baseless ageism comments. Thank you.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Soupie, I was going to comment about this, too. I’m a boomer and I have boomer friends. Piers Morgan is a piece of sh*t with no redeeming qualities. It’s interesting because it makes me think of the Trump issue. My Mom is 87 and doesn’t discuss politics with her Grandson (my Nephew who is 42) because he’s a devoted Trumper. I’ll never understand how he got there. My Mom and me? Well let’s just say we’d pull up a chair to the bonfire to watch him being roasted.

I know that there’s a certain segment of the senior population that is going to side with the Monarchy no matter what. There is also a segment of the younger populations who will also do the same. Doesn’t make sense to me. It isn’t just a certain age group, though.

  12. Noki says:

I saw a couple of past clips of his telling anyone who would listen his sad little ghosting story. Whatever the case maybe i think Alex from GMB may have been the only person to ever say to him…And so what IF she ghosted you,cut you off, blocked you is that not HER RIGHT?

  13. Louise177 says:

Can you ghost someone you met a couple of times? The thing that bothers me about Piers is that he only did a couple of interviews with Meghan but is acting like they were friends. Nobody calls him out on it. Not even when he showed a tweet as proof of friendship. No personal texts or emails but a tweet that anyone could write.

    • ABritGuest says:

He only met her once. He was a Suits fan & followed her on Twitter& Insta. Apparently he was always leaving sleazy comments on her SM. I wonder if he watches Suits now on Netflix lol.

I personally think he was already set to leave GMB to join this new right wing channel & this was all theatrics (on top of his toxicity around her) to position as a victim of cancel culture when he launches on this new channel.

I thought Meghan was very naive about the firm which she admitted& she has said before her friends warned her. However even as a Brit the firm’s behaviour has been eye opening because I bought the PR they had learned from Diana& doubt even Harry knew he would be treated this way.

Im hoping Sussexes are wiser and are being strategic knowing what they are up against & seems to be the case.

      • FicklePickle says:

Makes me kinda wonder if the reason he’s so pissed is he finally got the meet-up he wanted only to find out the reason Meghan wanted to meet is to ask him to back off and please stop being such a creep.

Impossible expectations utterly shattered by reality producing a shrieking maw of frothing rage…it’s exactly what the British press as a whole did with the whole Harry and Meg leaving situation.

  14. GrnieWnie says:

yes, I so enjoyed where he said “I am speaking generally about Meghan when I say I don’t believe her” but also “mental health crises should always be taken seriously.”

UHHH. UHHHHHHHHHH. YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

  15. Oh_Hey says:

Someone on Twitter said it best: you may not believe Meghan but if there is anyone suicidal your own life your saying you don’t believe them either.

This is on top of piers just being trash in general. He got fired for this and probably a bunch of other things, like sexually harassing a co- anchor literally 30 before he started again. The 41k complaints. I also bet Meghan has receipts in the form of written comms with ITV that make it clear that she never asked for him to get sacked.

  16. Nev says:

    He got Rosanned.

  17. Lanie says:

I don’t see a problem here, really. Let her follow him to every new job and interfere with his bag the same way he tried to destroy/end her life for rejecting his married ass.

  18. Oatmeal says:

This whole debacle makes me wonder

When did H&M decide to do this interview ?

When knew Oprah wanted it years back but for H&M when were they like “eff it and eff them”

Honestly my theory is sometime around late summer/early fall when the news dropped about the house purchase and the Netflix and Spotify deals . Also it goes without saying that they also needed time to heal and process what they went through together in England and I think all these things just coincided together naturally.

But back to the timing , I think they realized then that even after stepping back and moving a whole continent away that the BM and the Firm would be apoplectic any time they did anything no matter what and any and all future endeavors would come with a side of “The family was blindsided”

So,imo they decided to say “you know what , eff it and eff them” and planned this strategic master roll out of their side of the story

Also, and this to me is the most important part , I don’t know who thought to do it or who advised them to do it, I dont know if it’s something Diana instilled in Harry or just a natural instinct but , THANK GOD they had the foresight to keep the receipts

Keep every bit of correspondence, every text and email thread, every letter , note , post it note whatever

This may be the most famous case of CYA we have seen in a long time

  19. Becks1 says:

Good for her, he deserved that complaint. Mocking someone’s mental health struggles like that is just so bad.

  20. Monica says:

Meghan is not here to play. She is using her power on behalf of those who don’t have a voice as large as hers. She’ll get sh*t for it, saying she’s a whiny narcissist, but she is helping people in a concrete way.

  21. LaraW” says:

    … source?

This is DM and I don’t see a source, not even a “someone close to blah.”

  22. Angel says:

The fact that they allowed him to pursue a personal vendetta against her in the first place says a lot about them.

  23. Lizzie says:

This psycho will end up on Fox. We need to boycot advertisors if he does.

    • Brit says:

I doubt it. He’s not respected nor liked in America. He’s been trying to get back in America for years and nothing has worked. He’s tried everything but no one takes him seriously. I don’t think attacking Meghan Markle and Democrats on Fox, as they’re losing ratings and are in a massive lawsuits for misinformation will help him. If anything, I think a big part of his rage towards Meghan part jealously. She’s protected, respected and has a new life and career there.

    • FicklePickle says:

He was on CNN for a while but got fired, but the point is he was very very VERY rabidly anti-guns and pro-gun control. He wouldn’t last a week on Fox.

  24. Miranda says:

Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but his use of the cliché, “fall on my sword” just smacks of faux-chivalry. He’s so desperate to defend the royal family’s (dubious) honor. Like, how hard is angling for a knighthood for some sort of half-assed “service to the crown” right now?

  25. Cat says:

His exit was long overdue. They’re all trying to save face now.

  26. Heather says:

I need clarification on Piers’ obsession with MM. So did he pursue her or just sort of lightly stalk her and she ignored him?

    • AmyB says:

@Heather – I agree. I don’t really know the back story either other than he met her once at some dinner and he never heard from her again after she met Prince Harry LOL. Seems to me he is a bitter sexist, misogynist asshole, blinded by his own white privilege IMO. I haven’t seen a ton of his scathing comments on Megan Markle, but I have seen enough to know, it seems deeply personal to him in some way. Doesn’t take a psychology degree to see that LMAO! He probably felt rejected in some way, is my guess, but who knows???

    • lanne says:

One drink. They had one drink, and then she never spoke to him again. And 4 years alter, he’s still pressed. This is like the worst of those “nice guys” who think they are entitled to your attention because they want to F you. Someone needs to call out this behavious because women deal with this shit all the time. He had a public platform and used it pursue his own personal agenda. I also think he was pressed that a black woman didn’t want anything to do with him. This is a conversation that needs to happen.

    • hindulovegod says:

He stalked her social media, they met in person once, and then she ceased all contact with him. He has told the story himself many times, as has his wife. He’s been violently obsessed with her since then.

    • Elizabeth Kerri Mahon says:

They were friendly on social media. When Meghan came to London to do press for Suits (the same trip where she met Prince Harry), she met up with Piers for a drink at a pub. He was taken with her, even though he’s married. After she met Prince Harry, and the relationship became known, Piers wrote about the meeting and how much he liked her. However, as soon as the engagement was announced and he realized that not only wasn’t he going to be invited, but he was also not going to be Meghan’s Richard Kay (the person she turned to in the British media to get her side out), he turned on her and started calling her a social climber, that she ghosted him, he encouraged Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle to trash her on GMB, while he personally railed against her constantly for the past 4 years.

    • Catwoman says:

From what I’ve gathered from other outlets is he met her at a pub once. He was trying to get good in with her so he could do interviews later. Something happened (my guess he was too creepy for her) and she ghosted him. She then didn’t invite him to her wedding when he practically made a public plea on Twitter to be invited. That was what launched anti-Meghan.

    • notasugarhere says:

I think she, along with other Suits actors, were asked by their bosses to chat up their show with media in the UK. It was around when they were just getting it shown in the UK iirc. So she dealt with Piers on a completely professional level, never having him as a ‘friend’. All he has done in the past four years speaks of an abusive, jealous man obsessed with a woman who doesn’t want him. It is not normal.

  27. Amy Bee says:

The Royal Family has momentarily lost an ally but he deserved to be fired. I’ve no doubt that he will back on air very soon.

  28. Water Bearer. 💧 says:

“Meghan’s complaint was about the potential impact Piers Morgan’s comments could have on people struggling with mental health issues….”. However the Mail and other tabloids are going to spin it to say Meghan complained about the personal attack on her. It’s crazy. She’s left our shores but they can’t stop writing about her because Meghan and Harry make money for these papers through clicks and newspapers sales.

It’s horrifying to watch her being maligned and attacked.

    • Shoo fly says:

Water Bearer, I agree. It is terrifying to see how Morgan collaborated with the right wing press to turn one woman into a whipping post for their most heinous right wing attacks. It is reminiscent of what they did to Hillary Clinton in the 90s. A total demonization.

  29. Joy says:

This definitely isn’t the last of him. I fully expect that he’ll land on unites conservative airways lamenting that that we’ve lost the he right to freedom of speech.

  30. Petra says:

It was a money making act for him. He’ll keep it up until the money stops coming. He’ll show up as a host on OANN fairly soon.

  31. NotSoSimpleTaylor says:

The fight Piers has with Meghan kind of reminds me of Joe Exotic’s obsessive fight with Carole Baskin. My only concern with Meghan poking the Piers Morgan bear is that despite not having the power he once did, is still obsessed and bound to be moreso now that “Meghan cost him his job.” There’s still enough power for him to make Meghan’s life hell in the UK and with the media. He won’t stop until he humiliates her the way he believes she humiliated him.

  32. Tiffany says:

I hate this ‘ghosted’ thing as that was his word. That vid of him talking was and still is creepy and he should have been called on it years ago but racist gotta racist.

She fulfilled a professional obligation with a representative of the press and went on about her business.

If every rep acted like he did after the fact, they were have restraining orders miles long on them.

    • Audrey says:

So weird, she “went out” on a date in his head maybe? did he really think he had a chance with meghan? that’s just sad that a geriatric hateful man would even think he’s in league with a young successful beautiful woman

    • Lanie says:

Yep. And while all this was going on, he was MARRIED.
Meeting with a member of the local press in a public place as representative for your tv show is not a date!!!!

Piers is a creepy incel-like stalker and abuser.

  33. lee says:

Notice how Meghan is the one lying about the royal family and racism although Harry is the person who confirmed the story and was the person who related the story to Meghan. All of the attacks are lobbed at Meghan and Harry is not even mentioned. I wonder why?

    • L4frimaire says:

Because they’ll keep trying to get him back and leave her. They may not know Meghan but think they know Harry. They’re still going through lot and probably hope to wear him down.

  34. Emily says:

    He sounds so unhinged.
