Ivanka Trump got her second dose of the vaccine, much to the dismay of the MAGAts

President Trump Visits Former President George W. Bush And Former First Lady Laura As President H.W. Bush Lies In State In Capitol

In mid-April, Ivanka Trump received her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. We don’t know if she got Moderna or Pfizer, but we do know that she got one of them, because she got her second dose this week. Much like her first shot, Ivanka decided to post a vaccine selfie and she encouraged people to get vaccinated. Her mentions were a mess, just like last time:

[For her first vaccine selfie], many people expressed justifiable anger that Trump hadn’t done more to promote important public health measures back when she was a senior adviser to the president of the United States, a.k.a. her dad, Donald Trump, noting that it would have been nice if she’d told people the virus wasn’t a “hoax,” as the 45h president claimed, or suggested that super-spreader rallies amidst a global pandemic weren’t the best idea. More concerning, though, was the reaction from Trump supporters who were beside themselves over the idea that Ivanka got the vaccine at all, i.e. the people we have to thank in part for the fact that the U.S. may never achieve herd immunity. And several weeks later, it doesn‘t appear that they’ve changed their minds.

“Being a test subject is not my idea of wisdom…. Sad that you and others would even condone this…. Can’t wait for Americans to wake up!” wrote one Twitter user in response to Ivanka’s second dose. “Sad and regrettable that you promotes an EXPERIMENTAL substance disguised as a ‘vaccine’ that does not ‘Vaccinate’,” said another. Other responses included “Love your family but this is a huge NO for me & my family. Will be praying you do not get any of the horrible side affects”; “Grateful until you get [sick face emoji] from it”; and “You are crazy. Vaccine is poison.”

[From Vanity Fair]

It will probably always be hilarious – and horrible – to me that Ivanka is alienating her own political base of MAGA idiots by posting vaccine selfies. The truth is that if we ignore every single thing she did, said or was complicit in, it’s actually a good thing that Ivanka is getting the vaccine and encouraging other people to get vaccinated. Between 40-48% of Republican voters say that they have no plans to receive Covid vaccines, and there’s an enormous amount of vaccine hesitancy among, you guessed it, the MAGA cult. The “red states,” the states which voted for the Trump insurrectionist clownshow, are doing a horrible job getting their people vaccinated. Now, does it follow that Ivanka is changing MAGA hearts and minds about vaccines with these selfies? Probably not. They need to hear pro-vaccine messages from their cult leaders like Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump. Anyway, at least ‘Vanka will be fully vaxxed when she goes to prison.

    go away, girl.
It has been SO darn peaceful the last 4 months without the Trumps. My family is getting along again, people are planning (still distanced) vacations, and i can go to Target without feeling like i might get sick, infect my family, and then die.
I am so glad they are mostly gone.

  2. jferber says:

Their cult leaders, Trump and Carlson SURELY got the vaccines, but kept in on the down low. Trump admitted (ashamedly no doubt) that he got his. But he wouldn’t lift a finger to make sure none of his MAGGOTS dropped dead of Covid or spread it to other Americans who’d get very sick or die. I wouldn’t say trump is a misanthrope– he is just very, very selfish and reckless with other people’s lives. And the MAGGOTS want him back?!?!

    • Gab says:

Not only did Trump take credit for the vaccine, he also stated that he got his. Anyone republican or otherwise not getting this vaccine especially or other approved vaccines for polio etc. is severely misinformed. period.

      • Golly Gee says:

Yes, And his misogynist base is up in arms about Ivanka getting the vaccine but have no criticism to utter about the fact that their “fearless” leader got his.

    • MissMarirose says:

Somebody needs to start a rumor within MAGA social media circles that Tucker was spotted getting the vaccine. Watching people’s heads explode would be hilarious.

      • Ellie says:

A few months back, Tucker Carlson successfully argued in court that his viewers were morons, because no “reasonable person” could believe the things that he was saying were serious, and they haven’t abandoned him, because they’re too stupid to realise that he called them stupid.

You cannot change the minds of those who do not possess them.

      • Lady D says:

OMG @Ellie I honestly didn’t think MAGAT’s could be any stupider.

      • Korra says:

Carlson knows his viewers aren’t seeking out mainstream media, so any damning info about him that gets reported on outside of Fox is either going to get ignored or written off as “fake news.” It is the perfect echo chamber for misinformation and propaganda.

I just love seeing terrible pictures of her.

    • Anastasia says:

I think there are only terrible pictures of her.

      • Nouri says:

Really? Either she’s always made up or she has good skin because I’ve never seen a terrible pic of her. Also, she’s in shape and often dresses modestly so there’s not a lot of ways she can get a bad pic. Unless you mean socially cringe like when she’s trying to act like she’s Merkels equal. Those were funny

      • whatWHAT? says:

I agree. she is not an attractive person, though most MAGAts think she’s “hot”.

her nose has been whittled away too much and her veneers are too big. she looks like a alien to me.

      • Korra says:

It is funny. Before Trump took office, I found Ivanka nice looking — not hot or beautiful the way her father brags about her looks, but still attractive. However, now, I find her hideous. Not sure if it is just aging or more plastic surgery, but I speculate she become more repulsive to me because of her complicity and her own evil deeds in her father’s administration. Truly, I see a grotesque monster every time I see a picture of her nowadays.

    • Julia says:

I think she looks SO MUCH better in the jeans and t-shirt image. Her “nicer” clothes always look so staged and prissy to me, like she wants to dress like the main character in a late-90s telenovela.

Escondista, I’m still scared to go to Marshalls. Any special pre-cautions/strategies in going to Target?

    • escondista says:

      Hi jferber,
I’ll preface this with saying i have been vaccinated and it is key to my thoughts so I’d say
      1. short outings to places are really helpful. I think the more you expose yourself to a situation that gives you anxiety and have good experiences, the easier it will mentally get (this is true for lots of life situations). Also, when i first started going i would give myself a treat – like dark chocolate or a plant i liked or a coffee and it was like a little hit of dopamine that established that going out was a fun and happy time.
      2. I started with outdoor places. Right now is a perfect time to go to garden centers and plant nurseries.
      3. If possible, try to go at times when the store won’t be so busy.

    • Nivz says:

ITA about short trips to stores and mental health. I remember I went to target early one morning in November and bought some Xmas decorations and I felt SO FREAKING HAPPY!!! Mask on Obvs.

Since then, I’ve restricted myself to masked coffee and take out pick ups, occasionally the hardware store, and tons of garden centres!

I remind myself that thousands of essential service providers (I don’t mean medical workers, their risk is different) are out at work, taking covid precautions and most have stayed safe. That puts things into perspective.

  5. Becks1 says:

I mean, from the perspective of “everyone should get a vaccine” good that she got hers and I’m hoping that maybe this will persuade even 1% of her followers to get it too.

But she’s just the worst. The worst. she could have done something a year ago. And she and her husband just made it worse.

    • FC says:

This is how I feel. As much as I hate them all, at this point I would pay them to convince their base to get vaccinated. I live in a super red county so every MAGA that doesn’t get vaccinated puts my family at risk. I am willing to shut my mouth and not say “told ya so, f-kers” if it means getting us to herd immunity.

  6. ThatgirlThere says:

    She’s gross. Periodt.

  7. Trillion says:

Unfortunately, she cannot undo the massive damage done by her horrid father.

  8. whatWHAT? says:

her dress is too small for her circus boobs.

    get bent, b*tch.

  9. LightPurple says:

This woman advised her father to shut down the pandemic preparedness units and divert the money to the useless Fence of Hatred. She’s a major reason why there was a severe shortage of PPE at the start. She held numerous large gatherings at the White House and Mar a Lago unmasked during the height of the pandemic and posted images of herself doing so all over the federal government social media accounts..

And now for something completely catty: the picture is blurring between her arm and waist, as if she tried to erase part of herself to make her waist look tiny; the dress is too small and all of the buttons are straining to escape; and is it really necessary to wear false eyelashes to get a shot?

  10. nicegirl says:

She couldn’t even wear a vaccine top like Dolly or our girl Hecate. This feckless, complicit idiot

    • LightPurple says:

Why wear a vaccine top when you can wear a dress that is at least one size too small?

  11. Leah says:

I just have to say it’s been quiet since the adults took over the WH and white supremacist barbie and her horrible family left our house. I am able to sleep better than I have in the last four years because I’m not worried about her father hitting a nuclear launch button because he’s mad about his Diet Coke being flat.

  12. chimes@midnight says:

I sadly don’t think this will change anyone’s mind, not one bit. Covid deniers will just cancel her like they cancelled Pence and McConnell. I’m really curious about *why* she is being so public about her vaccine though, she’s just alienating her base. One would almost think that she actually does want to positively influence people and undo some if the damage.

    • Gab says:

I can understand not liking her in general but I can’t see how anyone can get mad at what she posted in this specific instance.

  13. Sansa says:

“ Anyway, at least ‘Vanka will be fully vaxxed when she goes to prison” HAHAHA! the last sentences of kaiser’s posts are always fire

  14. sa says:

To the extent that anyone cares, the link to the post about her first dose is from 3 weeks ago, so she got the Pfizer vaccine (moderna is 4 weeks between doses).

  15. Valerie says:

As far as I’m concerned, the ones who are refusing to get the vaccine for political reasons are the ones who are dividing the country. That doesn’t just go for America, either, but anywhere. If you have legit medical concerns or anxiety about them, I get that, but if you refuse it on the basis that it’s not really a vaccine but some kind of chip (lmfao – just typing that…), then you are the source of discord and division.

    • Meghan says:

Honestly, I didn’t know if I was going to get vaccinated or not because it has been a quick turnaround and I felt a little wary about it. Then again I dont get the flu shot so I’m not really the target demographic here. But I get my 2nd does on Tuesday! (I am nervous about it knocking me on my ass for a couple of days though)

My aunt and uncle, who were blowing my mom up about making sure my grandparents got vaccinated are “waiting until its not so experimental” which means never. And they go see my grandparents every week.

  16. The Recluse says:

We ain’t out of the woods yet with the right wingers: they are 7 states away from being able to call a constitutional convention to rewrite the Constitution to their benefit and liking. Be aware.

  17. Bread and Circuses says:

Eh, she’s horrible, and so are her fans, BUT if she convinces some of them to get vaccinated when they wouldn’t have otherwise, then I sincerely applaud her (and them) for that.
