Illiterate con-man shuts down sad fascist blog 29 days after he started it

United States President Donald Trump infected with Covid-19

I’ve been a full-time blogger for about thirteen years. I love the blogging lifestyle. I love working from home, I love wearing sweatpants everyday, and the daily blogging “grind” is fine with me. Donald Trump couldn’t hack the blogger life though. Sad Illiterate Bigly started his own blog in early May called From the Desk of Donald J. Trump. He tried to blog in tweet-style posts, with little context and multiple delusions. While brevity is always welcome on blogs, the blog platform wasn’t really conducive to Trump’s bursts of fascistic, burning rage. No one read that sh-t. And so 29 days after he started his sad-sack blog, he quit that bitch.

Former president Donald Trump’s blog, celebrated by advisers as a “beacon of freedom” that would keep him relevant in an online world he once dominated, is dead. It was 29 days old. Upset by reports from The Washington Post and other outlets highlighting its measly readership and concerns that it could detract from a social media platform he wants to launch later this year, Trump ordered his team Tuesday to put the blog out of its misery, advisers said.

On its last day, the site received just 1,500 shares or comments on Facebook and Twitter — a staggering drop for someone whose every tweet once garnered hundreds of thousands of reactions.

Trump still wants to launch some other platform — timing not yet determined — and didn’t like that this first attempt was being mocked as a loser, according to a Trump adviser who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk frankly about the former president’s plans.

Trump spokesman Jason Miller said the “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” blog “was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on.” CNBC first reported the blog’s demise.

Launched last month with a grand unveiling replete with an action-movie-style trailer that proclaimed, “In a time of silence and lies, a beacon of freedom arises,” the blog never secured more than a sliver of the spotlight Trump held before he was banned from every major social media site in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

A Post analysis of online data late last month found that the site was attracting fewer visitors than the pet-adoption service Petfinder and the recipe site Delish. The blog’s prospects hadn’t improved since, even though Trump had taken to writing on it more, a new analysis of online data shows.

I mean, it’s kind of unfair to compare the Bigly Blog to Delish or Petfinder? Those are major sites which provide real services to regular people. The Bigly Blog was just the sad, delusional mutterings of an illiterate madman? Granted, that describes half of Facebook, but I think Trump’s blog was hampered by the fact that few people were seeking it out on their own without being prompted by a tweet or Facebook link. I would be willing to bet that most of his MAGA cultists didn’t even know he had a blog.

Additionally, there were widespread rumors last night that Facebook and Instagram had reinstated Trump’s accounts on those platforms, but it turns out that was just a weird rumor. It’s true that Trump’s last Facebook posts – from January 6th, the day of the insurrection – can still be seen on the platform. But Trump cannot add new posts. Facebook and Instagram confirmed to TMZ that Trump is still banned from their platforms.

See de-platforming works. No if journo’s could just stop checking in with this guy 24/7 we might actually get somewhere. Unfortunately the worlds media is addicted to trump.

And sadly, ironically, we clicked this link and are commenting. The media keeps printing stuff about him for a reason.

    Whiner! Quitter! I think four people read my last blog post (although, to be fair, a version w/o my own added hyperlinks and brief note about how the piece came about is currently running in an established publication) but when you’re writing your truth, readership isn’t the main point. And 29 days???? {giant eyeroll}

    • BeanieBean says:

Hey, Amy T–you can add one more reader to your count. 😉

Awww, thanks! I started it during my last year at a really toxic workplace as a way to both loosen myself up for other writing and remind myself that I was good at something! 🙂

I’m in total awe of Kaiser, CB and everyone else who writes for this amazing blog, and I’m 100 percent sure that their stats for a single hour are probably greater than the Orange Nightmare’s entire 29-day run.

As long as the Democrats maintain a majority, Facebook won’t reinstate Trump. Zuckerberg doesn’t want his sociopathic moneymaker curtailed by the Dems.

I am enjoying the Facebook vs Apple over privacy rules fight. I am against selling personal data without permission of the owner, so I am all for Apple in this, forcing any of the applications to ask for consent first. The selling of personal data is so profitable but the people who engage it are so sleazy. Most of them try to trick people into giving them their data to sell because most people I know would never say “sure sell my personal information to whoever wants it! I loooove the junk mail and telemarketing calls!”

While the blog is gone, his website, where the blog was located, is still up. It has a CONTACT section where you can submit your requests to have Orange Voldy or Melania do stand up routines at your wedding, bar mitzvah, or baby shower OR send them your thoughts. Knowing the site gets little traffic so some staffer probably does read the few submissions instead of sorting through thousands, I send him my random thoughts a few times a week.

Buzzfeed did a ‘things that lasted longer’ comparison and they opened by referring to the time period as ‘three Scaramuccis’ which had me giggling from the start.

On a more serious note I’m delighted that (surprise surprise) only a small minority care enough to engage actively with his ramblings but still very concerned about what members of that small minority could do over there. They’re armed to the teeth with a less than tentative grip on reality.

“ They’re armed to the teeth with a less than tentative grip on reality.”
Not to mention, weapons. Even more alarming.

LMAO!! This had me laughing my ass off this morning! Exactly!! Who wants to read the delusions of a fucking mad man?!? I could barely muster the stomach to read any of his tweets, and those are limited to a certain number of characters! And the glorious topping on the cake here, it just proves what a ego-driven, self-centered baby he is. Upon not getting enough attention, predictably he quits, like the loser he is!

Haha, gotta love Kaiser, and I do 🙂 yay as always for the writing here, lol and I needed it. As for whether we should be covering that last guy or not, I know I’ll take heat for it here but I say, yes, I think we should. Come on, face it, he is not going to gracefully step down as other past Presidents have done, he will never shut up, and not only does he have no plans on leaving, but his idiot adult 3 eldest and Jared too are planning to be installed next. Not to mention the Republicans trying to make voting difficult out of sheer self service and absolute racism, opting out of the Jan 6 commission, Flynn’s comments, thinking a coup d’état is okay (NO) and Con Don starting his rallies (UGH) again soon, sorry not sorry but we have to pay attention and start getting out the Vote Blue 2022! Meanwhile on a totally different topic (apologies but it makes me happy 🙂 it is the 70th birthday of Jill Biden today! Yay! Joe took her to her favorite place for today, sweet beach house in Rehoboth Beach. Love that area, love her, love him and Happy Birthday Jill 🙂 !

Bravo Kaiser! The hed alone made my day, big belly laugh. And the picture of Trump Turkey? I’m envisioning the photog who got great satisfaction shooting that one.

  14. TeeBee says:

I believe and still do that Trump was a catalyst, not the sole reason for the political, cultural and societal divisions we see in the US today. So many have rightly surmised that the behaviour was always there, Trump just lit the match. Now no matches are needed to keep this dumpster fire ablaze. So, there are some that are true Trump disciples, but I think Trump is superfluous to the movement continuing and growing. It’s more an Anti-Democratic movement, and regardless of who represents the party at any given time, those on the extreme right will embrace them. Trump will eventually dissipate like a noxious substance in a large body of water. The comfort that I take from this is that Trump believed his own hype. He should know better than all of us the temporariness of fame, the shortness of the attention span of the American public and the fickleness of their tastes. He barely survived his kitschy celebrity of the 80s to parlay it into corny reality TV fame in the 2000s. Now he’s a pathetic sore loser of a disastrous president, and his grasping with his tiny hands at the shreds of notoriety that are left are the cherry on the sundae.

  15. Lizzie says:

Are the few people reading his blog the same ‘trump core supporters’ that the GOP is terrified of losing? Something is not adding up here.

  16. Robin says:

I’m having one of those days when just seeing this man’s face makes me want to scream at the universe!

  17. jferber says:

Question: If another coup attempt is made and succeeds this time, would our allies in NATO do anything to liberate us from Dictator Trump?

  18. The Recluse says:

You just know he’s itching all over to get out on those attention hogging rallies again. They keep threatening to do that.
